Brass Monkey

Super yummy cupcakes!! We got the lotus biscuit and blueberry. We thought the cream would be very heavy and rich but it wasn’t! It was a great balance with the cake :) the owner was also very friendly!

I went to Brass Monkey with my friend. I had a matcha, and she had a coffee. We also ordered a banana cake, which was amazing. The matcha wasn’t the best — it was very lumpy and not well mixed — but everything else was really great

Good hipster coffee. A bit pricey, but that’s kind of expected for a place like this. Would’ve preferred my coffee to be hot instead of lukewarm, and the waitress didn’t seem too happy to see us. Also turn the music up, way too quiet.

Out of about 10 third wave places I tried on my trip to Vienna, this was the best. I tried another branch of theirs and it wasn’t as good, this branch is where it’s at! The barista just knows he has the best coffee and the swag vibe is on point. The 8.8 flat white had the strength and milkwork balanced of some of the best out there. The beans were well selected.

Chocolate cupcake is a charm. The frosting is smooth, sweet and flavorful. Unfortunately the sponge cake over soft (easily cut into small debris after cut). The coffee is good. (I ordered cappuccino).

I had breakfast for the first time in Brass Monkey with a cappuccino, banana bread and a Peanut butter cupcake. Everything was delicious and fresh and also the owner was very nice and kind. Can’t wait to come back to try a different cupcake!

Went there with a friend for coffee. Super nice staff and simple but pretty interior. Sadly it's quite small so there's not much space for a lot of people, also the toilet is next door. However, we really enjoyed our coffee and the (vegan) cupcakes are AMAZING!

Lovely place, lovely owners! Very few sitting spots, basically one big table and one small table for two, so take that in mind if you want to come for breakfast. I imagine it's super crowded on the weekend. The avocado Toast is very nice, however with over 10 Euro really pricey for basically just two pieces of bread with avocado, tomatoes and a bit of goat chees. However if that's okay with you, that would be my recommendation. If you prefer sweet then the Banana Peanut butter Toast is...well nuts!

The place is not so lovely. There are very few sitting places. I ate a banana bread that was stale. The coffee was standard. I would not come again.

Wow, Brass Monkey serves by far (and to this day) the best cupcakes in Vienna. They are soft, moist and so delicious. Reminds me of the kind of cupcakes I buy in the USA, so that's a big deal for me. I got their Milka chocolate one, with a chocolate cream inside with a piece of Milka chocolate on top. My husband got their raspberry cheesecake one which was fantastic. The prices of the cupcakes range between 3.50-3.85 Euro depending on the specials, but they are worth it if you want a good quality treat. Their coffee is also outstanding and comes from South America and Africa. The coffee is smooth, fair trade and good quality, different than the Viennese coffee which I find to be too bitter. Brass Monkey is definitely a spot I will come back when I want good coffee. Keep in mind it is pricey (between 3-5 euros) but that's what you expect for this kind of coffee. They have a small table by the window for two people, and a long table for a group of people to sit at. Don't be shy sharing the large table with strangers -- I think the point of Brass Monkey is to be cozy and community-like. Love this place! cupcakes are sooo good! I love the chocolate one with peanut butter cream topping, but the other ones are good as well. the place looks super cute and the staff is friendly! aand I really like the packing, when you order take away :)

Americano / long black here was 5/5. Would come back for more. Didn't try anything else here, but the coffee is the main attraction right ? Great spot in Vienna.

Amazing cupcakes! Small cafe with a chic look - would recommend if you need to grab a quick coffee and sweet treat.

The cappuccino and cupcake we're both really good. There service was nice and he was great with explaining everything in English. Plenty of water was also available and for someone who drinks a lot of water that was a nice addition. Prices are cheaper the most coffee shops I visited so far. Great service, cupcakes and coffee equals a real gem in Vienna!

The oat milk cappuccino was very good... But the show stopper was the cupcakes. The gluten free sacha cupcake and GF peanut butter chocolate were both outstanding. Moist, sweet and delicious! Bravo! * The gentleman working there was quite pleasant as well.

What a nice small café! I really enjoyed sitting in this quiet little room with a special and alternative decor, I even got the chance to sit close to the window to enjoy a delicious chai soy latte! The baking lady of the Brass Monkey is Greek and definitely knows how to bake all kind of delicacies: they have all sort of tasty Cup Cakes, even some vegan ones! The highlight of this café is for me the cheerfulness of the staff! They are very friendly, always ready to explain what they offer (they have so many alluring bakeries and drinks!) and adapt them to your wishes! :) We definitely had a really nice time! Careful though: there isn't any toilet in there! ;)

I mean.... its ok. I would not take the metro for 30 minutes to reach out. However, there were constantly people coming in and out to pick up and go. Basically its one room with a large table everyone can sit around (maybe 10 people side by side), with the kitchen in the back, a counter to the side, and one small table for two by the window. Can be super cute when there is not too many people there, however when its full, its full. Also, downside you have to run to the bathroom in the restaurant next door (apparently there is an arrangement). That being the case I will comment on that bathroom; not great, but not the worst either .... Basically the cup cakes are you general pound cake dough cupcake. Frosting on the top is what provides the flavour it seems. I believe it is cream cheese that has been flavoured. I tried the mango filled cupcake version, mef. A bit dry. The Soy Chai tea was not nice and spicey, and took more than 15 minutes to get. At over 6 Euros for one cupcake and drink, finding the ultimate place for this is still the adventure!

Cupcakes! Gotta love them! I tried the cheesecake vanilla and it was very moist and delicious. The café is small, nicely decorated and cozy. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. Perfect way to take a coffee break. I will definitely come back to try more cakes.

Coffee and cupcakes, which both are done very well. Nice and simple place to relax without any stress. Price is reasonable for the service and comfort, selection is large for only cupcakes, and the staff are pleasant and shockingly not who you would expect dealing with cupcakes.

Best coffee in Vienna by a wide margin. I'm a trained barista and I love this place. The cupcakes are also amazing. Great little place to chill or do a bit of work and lovely owners.

THE best cupcakes in town. Athena (the baker) and her crew are unbelievably nice and the cafe is quaint and conveniently located. A cupcake sets ya back 2,80 a pop, but why not go for a half dozen when it's buy 5 get one free! If you can grab one, try for the choco with mango filling and cream cheese coconut icing. Nothing else like them in Vienna!!

Awesome vegan cupcake. Also to take away.Very good coffee. Good wifi. Very cool music. Artistic laissez-faire staff. Good read is always available. A huge big table is the middle - cool place to hang around. No toilett which is a bummer

Supposed to be open till 7:30 but guess what... Took me more than 30 minutes in this super hot day to get here and apparently it is closed. Sooo disappointed.

Their Oreo cupcake is quite possibly the best cupcake I have ever had. Stopped by here on our way back from Schönbrunn Palace, and we had a cupcake with an espresso. The cupcakes were so good that we ordered some to go for our train ride back to Budapest. Highly recommend!

Cute little coffee shop with tasty treats and good coffee. Vienna confuses the neighborhoods seem to lack distinct identities as you would see in other European capitals. This makes it difficult for me to stumble upon nice restaurants, cute shops, and cozy cafes like the Brass Monkey. I happened upon this while looking for a lunch spot. I saved it for dessert and was not disappointed.

Absolutely incredible cupcakes! I would even say the best cupcakes in Vienna with really unique flavors. The only is super nice and the coffee and tea menu is excellent

we are touring all around Europe at the moment performing and we are constantly on the hunt for the best coffee in every city. Brass monkey wins Austria hands down!! What else to say, it's perfect.

"Brass monkey" is a very small room with just one huge table in the middle of it, so if you are looking for a bit of peace and quiet, keep looking. The coffee is all right, but it's Vienna, finding a place with good coffee shouldn't be a problem. The cupcakes taste very average and they charged me give or take four euro for a stale cake with a piece of kit kat on top of it (I kid you not). The selection is literally non-existent - there was a choice between chocolate, chocolate with nutella and chocolate with something cheesy on top of it. Did I mention chocolate? but it was the service that sat me on edge. The person who served me couldn't be any less interested in doing so. I wanted to have another cup of coffee and tried (repeatedly) to make myself heard or seen. He signaled me to wait and just kept drinking his cup of coffee behind the counter, before disapprearing in the backroom. Needless to say I never got this second cup of coffee. All in all an very unpleasant experience and definitely not one to be repeated.
