The food was absolutely amazing flavorful, beautifully presented, and truly satisfying. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The dessert was delicious, the perfect sweet ending to the meal. It was my first time in Paris and trying authentic French cuisine, and it totally lived up to the hype. The wine was also a standout smooth, well-paired with the dishes

Across from the metro. Large spacious multiple floor restaurant. Service lady was very nice and spoke English. We tried the beef tartar which was very moist and full of flavor. We also tried the lamb shoulder which was very dry and lacked flavor. Don’t order the lamb. Beers were refreshing. Restrooms are downstairs like going into a dungeon lol. Over all good meal. I say check it out.

If you’re reading this and considering going here for your next meal JUST DO IT! We loved the steak frites so much we were sad we didn’t have the chance to go again on our short three day trip to Paris. We will be thinking about this meal for years to come. Will be back on our next visit!

A great restaurant with unfussy great food. Great Service. Busy and atmospheric. We had a table overlooking the pedestrian crossing and had a Birds Eye view of some edgy night life below. One Police car drugs? Stop and one drugs deal. Loved the authenticity. Highly recommend.

We had a reservation for a party of 13 for new year's eve. I should've called in advance because their dance floor and rooftop bar was closed which, was a disappointment to our party. I did read the reviews about the cigarette guys standing in the corner and the not so savory area so warned our party beforehand on what to expect. We were greeted by a tough burly security guard, a welcome sight after being swarmed by the cigarette guys. It took awhile to get inside until a server peeped his head around the security guard and asked if we had reservations. Once inside, we were greeted very warmly and taken to the 1st floor. The ambience was cozy and eventually a live jazz band came on. We had one server for the entire floor who was amazing!!!! He was friendly, efficient and spoke a few languages. Our food came out timely, including our drinks. For appetizers, everyone enjoyed the escargot and oysters. I had the egg in cream sauce (forgot the name of it). Half the group had sea bass and the other the beef. I had the beef which was juicy and tender. Since the restaurant had nothing going on for NYE, half our party left to go elsewhere and the other half to a bar. Overall wonderful dinner but not the NYE we had planned.

What truly set this place apart, however, was the staff. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and made to feel right at home. The team was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely enthusiastic about ensuring we had a great experience. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed meal. The food also was good.

The cocktails were ok, maybe a little too watery but ok. I suggest booking a table. They also have beer on tap.

Yelp
Brasserie Barbès is a classic French eatery by the Montmartre district of Paris. I was walking around this area looking for a drink with my wife, and we were so happy we found this spot!! What we thought would be one drink turned into one of the best happy hours of our lives!! The ambiance of this place is chic, very French (high ceilings, glass exterior walls that draw you in, and of course lots of smoking in the bar area upstairs). We were hesitant to sit down on the first floor to not have to order food, but the bar area on the second floor was packed! This was truly a blessing in disguise as we took a small bar type table on the first floor and orders a couple of small bites. We ordered oysters and escargot, and this "meal" was epic! The waiter said the oysters were from Britanny, they were briny, not to plump, and just absolutely delicious! First time having escargot, and I loved it! Mind you it was not traditionally presented in its shell, but nonetheless very tasty. The pesto like sauce on the escargot was amazing, and we soaked up the extra sauce with our bread. The only reason for a 4 star review instead of 5 stars is that they only had one waiter to the entire 1st floor. The kid was a hustler, very quick and charming. But it took a while after getting our bill to pay, so we tipped the guy with a straight bill to dash off to the next food adventure. I highly recommend this place when you're near the Montmartre!

Yelp
What a great place - you can sit enjoying steak frites on their second level and watch the street scenes of Paris outside as the metro goes by at eye level - fantastic food - fun wait staff and a ton of great portioned foods - I loved it and will def take people here for group meals and great energy.

Yelp
This place has a cool setup with a casual bar downstairs and a nice restaurant upstairs (not quite elegant but definitely classy) with a great view overlooking all the action of a busy intersection below. We went for an early dinner so it wasn't busy and the service was excellent. We ordered steak frites (very good) and a chicken dish (excellent). I definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.

Yelp
There's a nice view and the service was good, but the food was totally forgettable. It's got a trendy vibe, but that doesn't translate to a delicious meal. If you have other choices, I'd go with them.

Yelp
A good solid restaurant, but nothing to write home about. The food was good and the price was fair. Not cheap, but not extremely expensive. I had the beef sandwich with fries and a lemonade. The beef was good quality and the fries were thin and crispy. My favorite, however, was the lemonade. It was tangy, refreshing, and not too sweet. The ambiance was nice too. The decor is trendy and very open. My favorite part was that you have a nice view or the metro station. A great place for people who like people watching. On the more negative side, the service was VERY lacking. The waiter was inattentive, spilled water on my table and didn't clean it up, and I practically had to chase him down to get his attention. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but looking at the other reviews this seems to be a trend. If the service has been better, I would have given the restaurant 4 stars.

Yelp
Elegant french eatery with a modern wave. The service was very very good, and the food was fantastic. Started with a selection of french cheeses and warm bread. Then we had a tuna salad with lentils and pomegranate seeds which was very tasty. We had a side of buttery peas and green beans with fried Cod fish which tasted super good. Good service, good food, good ambience.

Yelp
Awesome food! Take time to order to make sure you pick the items optimum for your test. Ask for english menu if don't read french.

Yelp
House-made brioche and mate available. Huge, sprawling, clean setting that seems a bit out of place in Barbes, but is appreciated, nevertheless.

Yelp
It's really the ambiance that wins you over here, but as a lover of Cobb salads it was seeing a picture of theirs that initially lured me in. It was ok, but nothing great. Regardless I'm glad we came to see a new part of the city, and we enjoyed the wine, oysters, and atmosphere.

Yelp
Pricey and not fabulous. In addition the service was quite awful. I won't be going back. I would suggest you look at other good options for this type of food.

Yelp
An interesting New Years eve event. The place turned into a night club of sorts just for the evening. Some of the Djs were good, others not as much. The bar was very slow and the fog machines were a bit much.

Yelp
Superb! Difficult to get a table on one of the three floors, but the food was perfect, and well paired with great wine.

Yelp
I met a long-time friend here for lunch (they informed me that Brasserie Barbes was relatively new, despite the vintage decor and interior decor) and I was shocked by the simple beauty of the upstairs seating area and the large windows and view of the busy street and metro. The service here is very professional and efficient and I would recommend trying the juice and if you're a vegetarian, stick with the salad. I wish I were hungrier to try the desserts. Perhaps next time I'm in Paris.

Yelp
RARELY, do I write a bad review but last night was just terrible and I feel the need to document it. I live and work in Paris and have for many years. I had made a reservation for 2 and it had been confirmed. We arrived and were seated pretty quickly. My main complaint is that the timing of the service and the temperature made what could have been a great night, pretty miserable. After being seated, it was a full 15 minutes before any staff stopped to take our drinks order. After we had completed our drinks, did they ask about any food at all and only took our first course.... it was only after the first course had arrived did they take the rest of the reservation and it took a full 30 minutes to arrive. Moreover, the upstairs, while lovely in the summer, is horrible this time of year(winter). The bar's concept is a semi-open space with a smoking bar on one side of the bar and resto on this other. The glass shutters, that are meant to regulate the huge gusts of cold air were wide open. Even after many of the diners, including us, were literally in our coats and hats and had asked repeatedly for it to be addressed did the half close one shutter. Overall, our (good) food, was late and cold and poorly timed and the general experience was miserable. A good place on a warm day for a drink, but otherwise, this concept Brasserie misses the mark.

Yelp
Very bad service! We entered their very confusing building and ask for a table for 2 just for drinks, we were stuck on the end of a table of 8. Staff were rude to us because we could not speak perfect French, although we tried! Would definitely not recommend and definitely not revisit.

Yelp
Huge space with great breakfasts. Also came here for dinner one night and the food was very good. The cheese boards are wonderful and introduced us to mimolette cheese, which the US does not have. The only problem was that their upstairs outdoor space opens into the indoor bar, and the smoking from the area all wafts into the indoor dining area. Probably tolerable for Parisians, less so for Americans.
