Brasserie Excelsior Reims

It looked like a nice place, elegant, with style and taste. The food was just good with really fresh oysters for the starters. However, the salmon was too grilled, and the pear as a dessert was too sweet. In the morning, we discover that our bill included one bottle of champagne instead of one glass of it that I ordered.

Very good Brasserie. Elegant space with a nice dinning room and leafy terrace. I had the Menu Excelsior 40euros. Included champagne, wine, appetizer, main and dessert. It was great food and gene rous. Will have a salad for dinner. Staff was formal, polite but nice.

The worst restaurant I have ever been to! The classic french recipes were cooked horribly, the place was very crowded and loud, service was slow, everything was a bad experience. The scallops were overcooked and chewy and the french fries tasted like freezer (even worse than a random street food place). If you can, be smart and choose not to visit this place.

Great place to have dinner. Some classics on the menu that tasted well. It is quite a fancy place, with lots of tables inside and outside. It is very nice to sit outside during a hot summer day. The food is not very expensive and comes in decent portions. The staff is friendly and served us quickly. Overal a good semi-fancy restaurant.

Extremely disappointing experience from start to finish. The scallops were overcooked and lacked any real flavor. The main course was even worse, the steak tartare tasted unpleasant and didn’t resemble a proper tartare at all. The fries were by far the most disappointing item: bland, poorly cooked, and honestly worse than basic frozen supermarket fries. For dessert, we had ice cream with a sauce that tasted like it came straight from a can of peaches, artificial and uninspired. Service was slow and unfriendly, and several items from our order were forgotten. Overall, a very poor dining experience and definitely a place to avoid.

Amazing restaurant that got recommend to use by another chef. The old school French atmosphere is amazing! Priced very decent for the quality of food that gets served. Very extensive wine menu, with some wines available per glass. Personally I would wish that they had the Chablis per glass, but went with the Taittinger champagne instead. Can’t go wrong with Excelsior. Also the staff is very friendly, speaks English very well and they offer an English menu. Definitely would recommend Excelsior ❤️ !

We had lunch here and were shocked to find that the chicken was served with baking paper still attached. When we asked for an apology, the manager’s attitude was extremely rude and dismissive. It felt as if they assumed we were just tourists who couldn’t speak French, and therefore didn’t deserve proper respect. Truly one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. Never coming back, and I strongly advise others to avoid this place.

Very fancy, chic and surprisingly affordable restaurant. We had dinner inside, but expectedly during summer it would be even better outside. The menu consists of many, French orientated, different options. The wine and of course champagne options are very good. Unfortunately the staff is not really friendly, a bit distant and very hard to approach to order. Also it takes quite a while to get your food and during our dinner we see them making multiple mistakes at other tables (as multiple other guests were complaining). Quality of the food was sufficient, as per the pricing, but not in line with the style and atmosphere of the restaurant. So overall not sure if I would recommend.
