had one of the most memorable meals today — truly chef’s kiss from start to finish. even before the dishes arrived, the bread and butter already set the tone. the butter had this beautiful milky aroma and flavour, pairing perfectly with the fresh bread.
then came the oysters. i usually avoid eating too many because they don’t sit well with me, but these changed my mind completely. they were incredibly fresh, not overly salty, with a subtle sweetness at the end - absolutely addictive. i initially planned to have just four, but ended up eating six without a second thought, and honestly, i think i could’ve gone for twelve.
next, the foie gras — visually stunning and even better in taste. the rich, creamy texture of the foie gras paired beautifully with the sweet, fragrant jam, and the crispy toasted bread was the perfect vessel for it. we even asked for an extra half slice of bread just to make sure none of it went to waste.
we also had the mac and cheese with bits of ham — probably one of the best I’ve ever had. wonderfully cheesy, perfectly creamy, and so well balanced in flavour, it was an absolute comfort dish elevated to a whole new level.
to finish, we shared a crème brûlée. the caramelised sugar crust was perfectly thin and crisp, with just the right sweetness and none of the bitterness you sometimes get from burnt sugar. underneath, the custard was luxuriously creamy, with the taste of high-quality vanilla and just a whisper of floral notes.
every dish was spot on, service was warm, and the whole experience felt special. Can’t wait to come back!!!!
