Brasserie Historique – La Maison des Têtes offers exactly what you’d hope for in a historic Colmar brasserie: a warm, polished atmosphere, attentive service, and solid Alsatian cuisine. It’s the kind of place that feels like a step back in time, but with all the comforts of a well-run restaurant.
The Dish: A Satisfying Classic
I went for the choucroute “8 garnitures”, and it delivered on all the essentials. The portion was generous, everything was well-prepared, and it hit that comforting, hearty note you crave from Alsatian fare. While it didn’t reach the “wow” heights of the very best choucroute I’ve tried, it was reliable, flavorful, and satisfying. So perfect if you’re after a taste of tradition.
The Atmosphere: Timeless and Inviting
The interior is rich with character, blending warm wood, historic details, and a refined yet relaxed vibe. It’s classy without being pretentious, making it ideal for both casual lunches and special evenings.
The Service: Polished and Welcoming
The staff were friendly and professional, ensuring the meal felt smooth and enjoyable from start to finish.
