Google
The duck breast is fantastic. Iberico pork also not bad but can be better.

Howard Thailand

Google
Good bistro fare. Huge portions. The chicken could have based for a baby turkey.

Google
inedible. potato with cheese indistinguishable to the crostini with cheese, sauce thick without any separation of flavor. however the escargots were good. le carnot.

Tessa Allen

Google
Really good pizza (not traditional. More like pizza on a focaccia?) and really good beef bourguignon

Google
Amazing food! The lasagne and beef dish are the best we had in our travels. The crepe and the brownie dessert are a must. The portions are large so most dishes can be shared if you’re not a big eater.

Google
Always great food and large portions. If you don't have a reservation, this place is clutch.

Google
Brasserie Le Carnot exceeded our expectations with their delicious beef bourguignon, which was absolutely outstanding! The escargots and Caesar salad were also top-notch. The service was quick, friendly, and set the tone for a fantastic dining experience. We stumbled upon this gem by chance and couldn't be happier. What's more, the prices are very reasonable and lower compared to other restaurants in the area. Definitely a must-visit for anyone craving authentic French cuisine without breaking the bank!

Google
Went here on a day trip to Beaune as part of a wine tasting tour. Was looking to try beef bourguignon and this place has really good beef bourguignon! And the escargots and ceasar are super good as well. Service was quick and friendly. The server really set the tone for the great visit. So glad we chanced upon this place.

Yelp
Great food. Vegan curry clearly labeled on the menu as being vegan which was an absolute relief to be able to safely order an entree! A dining companion reports that the onion soup was a full meal and delicious. Cesar salad included freshly made (still warm) croutons and two kinds of meat (breaded chicken and ham/ bacon) Smoking allowed at the outdoor tables (ashtrays on every table) and interior seating was uncomfortably warm so we chanced sitting outside in spite of the second hand smoke. Service was efficient and entirely in French.

Yelp
We stopped here on a long drive. The service was great, food was delicious and ambience delightful. We had two young children and they were very accommodating. They shared the burger. We tried the salade Carnot and bourguignon. Delicious!! Would highly recommend.

Yelp
Great Disappointment We toured Bourgogne region and had one evening to spend in Beaune. We chose Le Carnot for seemingly cosy atmosphere and fast service. The service is pretty fast and waitresses are nice. That is the stat that this brassiere deserves. Three out of four dishes we ordered were not edible. For example, Salad Caesar was probably the worst I've ever tasted: chicken nuggets were mixed with bacon and anchovies, sprinkled with lettuce and dressed with balsamic vinegar, really ?!?! Beef tartar was not made to order. It was pre-made and refrigerated , brown in color and had no taste. Other dishes were unimpressive. The quality of food might be acceptable for a fast-food or pre-made take out but not for a sit down dinner with a nice bottle or wine. The worst was that we ordered a very expensive wine which tasted odd. We didn't make any trouble and paid the bill. Why? Because it's not about money , it would not have changed anything or erase our experience. We felt bad for waitresses, they ran around and were too stressed to create a relaxing experience. They were not successful in trying to hide their stress behind their smiles. It was such disappointment for us that among variety of well-rated restaurants we chose one that would serve such food. We left with a feeling of deception and a tainted memory of Bourgogne, our favorite wine region of France.

Yelp
I went here over a year ago and I still think about how the food here was amazing. I haven't found beef Bourguignon this good anywhere else. It was also our first time trying escargot and it was so tasty! We weren't sure where to go it was our first time in the city and another couple suggested it. We loved the atmosphere my husband and I sat outside and our server was awesome and also spoke English because my French is really rough! I wish I lived here I would frequent it every week!

Yelp
Nice looking place with great ambiance and a terrific efficient server. Great wine selection including by the glass Salad was fresh. Fish and chips ; good chips but the fish was frozen kind that was very over coated with batter.

Yelp
It's A-OK. Not great, not bad. Great location, friendly service. They have something for everyone - I had steak, the vegetarian in the group had Pizza. Wine list was so-so. This is a great tourist spot as it's centrally located. They were open when many other restaurants were not.

Yelp
As Michelin diners - we enjoyed 3 - yes three meals here when we wanted bistro style dining. The Salade Nicoise is one the two best in central Beaune. The Fish & Chips are a good sized portion of fish, lightly fried, & perfectly prepared. Avoid sharing food or splitting plates as it is considered rude in France. Two of our 5 diners did so on the first course and we waited an inordinate amount of time for our food (second visit).

Yelp
Stopped by Le Carnot for lunch while in Beaune. This was one of those places where I should have thought twice. They rate 3.5 stars but are definitely closer to 3. Fish and chips were average at best. Service was ok. Next time in Beaune I'll look for another lunch spot.

Yelp
Fantastic classic Burgundy fare with great service. We had cancelled most reservations while we were there and opted to cook in and relax. I wanted to go somewhere for lunch where we could sample some of the better food of the region from poached eggs, escargot, and beef borg. I'm glad we stopped there. Fantastic food! We ordered 50cl of wine and made an afternoon of it! This was the first time I have had escargot and now I feel as though I've been missing out for the past thirty years. Definitely recommended!

Yelp
Perhaps the best meal I had in France. The service was also amazing. Our servers were both young, good looking and attentive Frenchmen. I ordered a set menu that was only 32 euros! Each course had a few options and I had: ***6 escargot with parsley butter - if you had not tried this then you must order it! ***beef Bourgogne with potatoes (wine sauce) ***3 cheese and jam platter, comes with additional bread ***dijonaise cup (vanilla ice cream, cassis sorbet, cassis sauce, and cookie) My boyfriend ordered: ***Iberian pork with horseradish sauce a la plancha (grilled on a wooden plank) with potatoes ***summer omelet with peppers and chorizo, with salad For wine, we ordered 12cL or 25 cL local wines but bottles are also offered. In burgundy, whites are typically Chardonnays whole reds are typically Pinot Noirs. ***burgundy rose ***white meursault ***red marsannay ***red Gevrey-chambertin was our favorite!

Yelp
Tres bien dinner. I had the duck which was amazing. I would go back and have it again. My husband had the fish and chips. My son had the chicken nuggets from the children's menu. Nice decor inside. Lovely place to eat outside. We had a bottle of white from Nuit Saint George. We liked it. The waiter was surprised when I said it was good which I wish he had said when we ordered it.

Yelp
Wonderful outdoor seating at the juncture of 5 walking pathways. Thus unlike most outdoor seating you don't have to endure exhaust fumes while dining. Had the price fix meal mid day. Escargot were delicious! Beef Bourgogne was quite good. 3 cheeses with nuts, jam and more bread. Could hardly stuff down the creme brûlée, but I did manage as it was so tasty! A little wine and my eating for the day is done. Thank goodness for all the walking we do on trips. Service is leisurely.

Yelp
Everyone in my group had a more exciting meal than me....chicken livers was the choice of one person who said they were divine, someone else got the escargot who was in snail heaven, and the other ordered the poached eggs in the burgundy sauce and he was savoring every drop. I ordered a salad to try to make up for the meals I ate the day before. It was lack lustre. Our wine was great as well as the service and atmosphere of the place. I would go back for sure.

Yelp
Very nice atmosphere, food was nicely presented and was pretty good! Salmon with dill needed more acidity in my opinion but the lasagna was great!

Yelp
One of the few places open in Beaune on a Monday night. Boeuf bourguignon was OK but underseasoned...frankly, I make a better beef stew with red wine and I'm an uncouth American. :) Their creme brulee was quite good. Set your expectations appropriately.

Yelp
Great location with lots of passers by but food quality was varied. Service was slow / labored and had to be prompted on several occasions. Dish of the day - pork with mashed potato - was tasty but a small serving. The tagliatelle carbonara with ham and cheese sauce was excellent with an American sized serving.

Yelp
Le Carnot is great! We went a couple times because it was so convenient, easy, and the staff was very kind and welcoming. It's a great location in town and there are many different types of meal options.

Yelp
Service completely unacceptable- we had a nice experience at lunch so we thought we'd go back for dinner. big mistake. Waitress clearly has a thing against either tourists or English speaking tourists. We were sat, but did not get menus- after waiting a few minutes and watching her go by us without acknowledging our presence, we walked over to the bar to get menus ourselves. Watched her go by a few more times before receiving any offer to take an order... and then waited forever for the food to come. The fluent French speakers in her section that were sat AFTER US received menus upon being sat, received their food a good 20 minutes BEFORE US and were offered a second round of drinks. The people from England sitting next to us? They were left hanging like us. Coincidence? unlikely.

Yelp
Excellent service, owner was our waiter, and he was amazing. He let us use his internet service for a night. Food outstanding.

Yelp
Good location, and we were able to get lunch on a Saturday without reservation. Service was a bit uneven, and sometimes verging on rude to other tables (particularly one waiter who seemed frustrated with English speakers). Staff seemed really rushed and overwhelmed. We had pizzas (crust not browned, thick gooey, lots of sauce), fries (tasty and homemade), and a really nice salad with melted Camembert and potatoes in it. If you're looking for a sit-down cafe experience with good people-watching, get a seat at Carnot. On the other hand, if good taste/quality is more important, I recommend the place next door.

Yelp
Location is great, lots of of outdoor seating. Prices were good. The pizza was impressive as were the escargot. Always busy and lots of activity around. It was our regular for coffee in am as well for lunch

Yelp
We visited for lunch and were pleased with the friendly service and reasonable prices. Our waiter was great, spoke excellent English, and the location on the pedestrian walkway was quiet with great people watching. The pizza looked great but I decided to try a local dish of tripe in a mustard sauce. The sauce was great but tripe is definately an acquired taste!

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch. Very pleased with the meal, although what we ordered was quite basic. I had the hamburger and frites my wife had the lasagna. Tres Bon!

Yelp
Although the location of this Brasserie was perfectly cute and the decor was great, the food was bad. We ordered the oeufs de marinette (poached eggs in sauce) and the French onion soup. The French onion soup was so bad, it was watery liquid with a side of shredded cheese and croutons. It wasn't a classic French onion soup at all! For 11 euros it was appalling. The egg dish wasn't much better. I'd recommend only coming here for a coffee not for the food.

Travis M.

Yelp
Quite good although kid's pizza wasn't their favorite. Parents were happy as had some great escargot apps and the beef bourguignon was fantastic. Nice outdoor seating and pleasant service

Kim B.

Yelp
Good bistro with nice service and view of a cute street and charming church. Beautiful interior too. The waiter was very kind and patient with our bad French. Had the cheese platter and drinks. Excellent.

Shannon S.

Yelp
Not good; typical tourist restaurant. House wine tasted like vinegar and lasagne was hot on edges but cold inside. Food is marginal at best, but the service was very good and a pretty view.

Jeff L.

Yelp
Popular haunt with the tourists. The food was average; I recommend staying away from the onion soup. It was watery and served with shredded (mozzarella?) cheese. My Carnot salad was ok.

Tim J.

Yelp
Had the escargot, boeuf Bourgogne, cheese plate and crime brûlée. Very enjoyable, helpful staff. Everything was fabulous except the cerem brûlée which was good, but I'm sure there's better in town. Nonetheless, it definitely gets my recommendation.
