I almost never make reviews so this one is for the skeptical readers—There’s so much mixed comments about this place that I can’t even begin. I decided to visit and thank God I did—we had a wonderful time. Yes, the food indeed took some time but nothing absurd or unusual. Dishes were delicious. We had oysters, the duck and the steak. Everything great. Desserts, ugh. 🤤 The profiteroles + crepe were so, so good. The place itself is beautiful and we had a lovely waitress who made us feel welcome.

It’s like time slipping into the Art Nouveau era. Perfect place for a date but a little noisy. Going there early was a good idea o avoid the massive crowd. Food was nice. Choucroute was lovely. The cabbage was perfect, a little on the soft side though.

Had dinner at Brasserie L'Excelsior in Nancy, and the Art Nouveau interior is absolutely stunning. The ornate ceilings, stained glass, and the central tree installation create a unique and memorable atmosphere. I ordered the Choucroute Strasbourgeoise as my main dish. It was not bad at all, featuring a generous portion of sauerkraut and assorted meats. However, it didn't particularly stand out in terms of flavor or presentation. For dessert, I had the Tout Nancy, a local specialty parfait with bergamot and mirabelle. It was pleasant and light, offering a nice regional touch to end the meal. The service was totally fine, with staff being attentive and courteous throughout the evening.

Nestled in the heart of the city, it is a stunning tribute to the Art Deco style of the 1910s, seamlessly blending elegance with a nostalgic charm with intricate geometric patterns, rich colors, and stylish furnishings that evoke an era of sophistication. The menu features a selection of classic French dishes Soupe à l'Oignon and Steak Tartare. The food is acceptable but not as impressive as its deco.

We had a late breakfast with pastries, coffee and hot chocolate stopping off on the self guided Art Nouveau walking tour. Server was patient with our basic understanding of French.

Ideally located with well maintained distinguished decor. The staff are nice and polite. Typical continental breakfast with fresh bread, pressed orange juice and hot drink. We tried that large plate with a variety of cheeses before going home. This was our preferred breakfast place for the duration of our stay.

Highly recommend, definitely worth making a reservation. Food is not too fancy, traditional and fairly priced. Ambiance is amazing, staff is great.

I was about to order two dishes when the waiter stopped me, he was right. I was full after having the Lorraine quiche and the crème brûlée. The brûlée was five times larger than ones I eat in Japan and had a great bergamot scent. I think you can access to delicious dishes at a reasonable price. I went in around 6pm without a reservation, but if you can, I recommend making a reservation in advance. Even if you don't speak French, you can feel at ease.

Yelp
I give 5 stars for the absolute beauty of the setting. Perfect Art Nouveau atmosphere in this charming building. The Quiche Lorraine was very good to, but also a nice place to stop for coffee and just sit and soak in the charm of the restaurant

Yelp
I didn't have reservation on a Saturday night- but the wonderful maitre-d hooked me up! Wonder wine from the region. Starters: oysters and escargot - yum! For main I had lamb- very flavorful and amazing eggplant side. And dessert- something creamy, light, delicious, and cold. A super sweet couple sitting next to me gave me fantastic dessert idea (and helped me with eating the escargot-lol). And we're just all around delightful! Yerp. I'll be back!

Yelp
The venue is very beautiful. An old jugend styl, you feel like taking part in a Gatsby 's party (super chic chic feeling) Just went for a tea time... But was really disappointed about the quality.. Coffee too strong, and apple cake too artificial... Sad... Maybe lunch or dinner is better quality... But until then only 2 stars

Yelp
4 stars for the experience of dining in a fine sensitively restored brasserie of the 1920s, everyone who dined there seem to appreciate and share in paying homage by wearing their Sunday best. It is actually one place you can't fault someone for overdressing. 3 stars for the food, nice and decent in quality porcelain but lacking in finer touches of good suitable accompanying sauce at times. Our wait staff was friendly but it was busy lunch hour so getting their attention didn't guarantee immediate service. They have a la carte as well as menus where you can choose 2, 3 courses or their premium set, starts from €35. Not good with salad selection, all heavy meat plats. They seem to stand out also for their seafood platters.

Yelp
On a rainy night this brasserie looked fantastic from outside, bustling and glowing in restored deco splendor. However, as a single diner I was shunted to a side room, given an awkward table and left without attention. The menu had absolutely no vegetarian options, other than sides of green beans and mashed potatoes. I departed without ordering. No one seemed to notice. Meh!

Yelp
Enjoyed dinner here last night. Typical French brasserie with all the dishes you'd expect. We asked about the langoustines on the way in and when we received our plateau the guys had kindly added an extra one! Meat was well cooked and sides very nice. Overall I would recommend it for the beautiful room and typical dishes. Don't go if you're vegetarian!
