So happy to find this gem….. a place for bread addict…. It’s one of the best baguette I’ve ever had outside Paris 😉. Love the ambience, a small French bistro and they only serve simple continental breakfast in the morning. The jam platter offered looks so tempting and you have a lot more to choose from if you want to try out other bread. I would definitely come here next time when I’m in Tokyo. Might need to queue a bit if you come on weekend or holiday. The queue for their bakery downstairs also need some patients but it really worth the wait! Btw, they also have lunch & dinner served so might come to try out next time too

The restaurant looks like a restaurant in France and the red color scheme makes you feel like you are there. This time, I had the lunch meat lunch. The bucket is a specialty and really tasty. The crispy outside and chewy inside are exquisite and mesmerizing. It is a nice service that you can have free refills of this. The main dish is pork steak. The pork is juicy and tender, with just the right amount of grilled flavor. The tomato-based sauce accentuates the flavor of the pork. Onion Gratin Soup This soup is quite my favorite as an onion gratin soup lover. First of all, plenty of cheese on top. The aroma of the grilled cheese and the way it melts and stretches when you scoop it up is very appetizing. The onions used in abundance are meltingly intertwined with the cheese, and along with the rich taste of the consommé, the sweetness of the onions and the richness of the cheese are very delicious. Bucket and onion gratin soup is a dish that you will want to go back to regularly because it is hard to find such a delicious dish.

A taste of Paris? I went there for an almond croissant and a coffee. Looks and feels very authentic they had a great selection of bread and pastries that are hard to find in Japan. My only concern may be down to personal taste but my ideal almond croissant would not have been so crisp or dry. A little less time in the oven and a bit more butter in the making?

In times like these, they only accept cash or credit cards (they also informed me that the credit card would be accepted if you paid more than 3,000 yen, what!?), which seems outdated for a place in the middle of Shibuya. Not that anything tastes better if they use Echire butter, but the prices are all above average, and the taste is very ordinary. The pain au chocolat has too much chocolate compared to the dough; even as a chocolate lover, I found it overwhelming. Adding more dough, kneading it more, and adding more layers would improve it - maybe even just a 5% increase would result in a better pastry. Honestly, the croissants at “the bakery” in Azabudai are far better, despite being more expensive than the ones in this café. Although I was initially surprised when I visited the café upstairs, I realized that this could be the reason why the place is so empty. Never again.

The framboise chocolate croissant was out of this world. Truly delicious bakery in the heart of Shibuya.

A bakery with delicious baguette. There is also a restaurant on the second floor where you can relax and eat delicious bread. It is always crowded, so reservations are essential. The age range is high. The atmosphere is relaxed and not suitable for a quick bite to eat. The clerks are also very laid back.

Nice selection of jams and pastries, but that’s about all that’s redeeming about this bakery. Horrifically burnt baguettes, as if they had just got off shift from chimney sweeping. Upon request for additional bread, the audacious server told me to go downstairs and get it myself. I wouldn’t mind, if it wasn’t the case that this establishment gives the appearance of fine dining… nothing fine about this! My wife returned from using the lavatory distressed at the sight of what looked like a bloodstained curtain in her cubicle. A hard pass for any in the area.

French pastries, Japanese stinginess and portion sizes and high prices. Ridiculously expensive and small pastries for most of what's for sale there. The worst has to be their crepes though. My friend tried one Nutella crepe with no other topping at a whooping 842¥... And for what? Barely no Nutella inside. They were so cheap and stingy with ingredients. I cannot possibly recommend. Also, as per my previous experience. Everything tends to get sold out in the afternoon too so it's often that I gotnin only to find empty shelves. Frustrating.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for bakeries, especially French ones that have perfected their craft! Wasn't on my radar until I couldn't find our first choice bakery- but things turnout how they're suppose to turnout. The pastry God was guiding us here! So many choices to choose from. Opted for the almond croissant, a true pastry test for the crunch factor! Did not disappoint. Seating is upstairs, small bistro menu with other offerings. One, is a basket of fresh bread including a pastry of choice. Who could eat all of that bread? Trust me, I was surrounded by women ordering that basket! Including my friend! Nice choices of jams that accompanied the basket as well. Coffee options are nice, service is friendly, if you're looking for an earlier coffee and pastry fix and not wanting to wait til 10 like most coffee shops in Tokyo open, put this one on your list!

Yelp
A delicious lunch! I didn't realize that it was more of a formal dining experience than I had anticipated. Definitely don't bring your children here! LOL. It's a French Bistro, so menu items are in french. But the staff can translate for you easily if you're having a hard time. I had the lamb (2,000 yen) , with steamed vegetables. The lamb was tender and and flavorful. The baguette was probably one of the best breads I've tasted in Japan. Pricy, about 550 yen for 4 small slices! But as I said: it's very good! This restaurant is located on the second floor. Seating is intimate, so I'd only come here with 2 or 3 other friends to be comfortable. If you're looking for cold cut sandwiches and pastry cakes and desserts, you order them for take away on the first floor.
