Braunbär Hotel & Spa (Wengen, Canton of Bern) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"There are nine car-free villages in Switzerland, including Wengen, a picturesque hamlet on a sunny mountain terrace in the Bernese Oberland. A few minutes’ stroll from the train station and the ski lift is Braunbär Hotel & Spa. This stately wooden chalet dates back to the late 19th century, though it was thoroughly updated inside for its reopening in 2025." - Tablet Hotels

This is a fantastic hotel in Wengen with incredible staff! We stayed in the Duplex Room with our two children - it offered a really good amount of space and a wonderful view of the town and Jungfrau. The beds were super comfortable and everything was spotless. Additionally, it's across the street from the Männlichen/Wengen gondola station and only a short (and flat) walk from the train station, so access is easy even for those with larger suitcases. ||But what really made this place spectacular was the staff. Our first night in town my wife (who has a horrible nut allergy) ate some shaved walnuts that had been placed on a vegetable dish by the chef without first alerting the restaurant (the menu didn't list nuts as a potential allergen on the dish). Despite two epi-pen injections her reaction ws continuing to get worse and we asked about getting her to the hospital in Interlaken, but were concerned because of the length of time it takes to get there. The manager of the hotel called a doctor in town and then walked us to the clinic, which the doctor opened up at around 11:00 pm where my wife received steroids and antihistamines that controlled her reaction. Throughout the rest of the trip every staff member asked about how she was doing and apologized over and over again about the fact that it happened. The manager also checked on us multiple times after the incident and helped us out the door after checking out. ||Despite the nut incident, the restaurant was great for both dinner and fantastic breakfast buffet in the mornings. The hotel also has a cozy bar that has live music on some nights. We're already planning a trip back!

We enjoyed our stay in Wengen. The vibe and styling of our hotel was beautiful. We enjoyed our room, the only thing we missed was AC. While the temp outside was on the cooler side, the loft was warmer than expected. The staff at the front desk were fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed our daily breakfast-the assortment/taste was great. We enjoyed the complimentary water (sparkling/still) in the lobby (and the bucket of ice from the bar). We all enjoyed the sauna/steam room-overall a beautiful place in a quiet, quaint village.

The hotel was everything we needed. It was extremely clean, which helped us feel very comfortable. The family room was quite large and we had more than adequate space for our visit. We had a balcony with a gorgeous view. Staff were fabulous, pool was large and clean with a beautiful view. Location was perfect - right in the center of town with easy access to everything we needed. Highly recommend!

We stayed two nights at the Braunbar Hotel and Spa in Wengen. Location was outstanding, so close to train station and center of town. Best for me was sipping coffee on my private balcony while admiring the mountain views. The spa/pool were great, as was the lively bar in the evening. Front desk staff were extremely helpful with directions and suggestions, stored our luggage as we arrived early and our room was not yet ready. Would love to stay there again!

Love every bits of this hotel during our 3nights stay in Wengen. The friendly staffs at receptions, the breakfast restaurant, the house keeping team; comfortable linens and bed; prime location to Wengen station. We had the privilege room and facing the main street, it might get noisy during the day when everyone was up, but it's quiet on the street after 10pm, however some views from balcony were blocked by the flags. There are not many breakfast choice around Wengen, so I strongly recommend to have breakfast here. The breakfast spread was good and delicious. We didn't use their facilities much as we had pretty tight schedule during our stay.

Great experience! We really enjoyed our stay. I was happy we chose to stay in Wengen because it felt like a nice escape from the busier towns around it. The hotel is very stylish and cozy. Comfy beds and good breakfast. And our view from the balcony was lovely. Would love to stay again!

What a wonderful stay we had back in July. This is the view from our balcony on 4th floor , room 409 I believe. Our daughters loved having the arcade game in the room. We surprised them with that. The breakfast buffet was great. The staff here were all super friendly and very helpful. I asked them lots of questions about hikes and the area in general. My wife and I liked to sit out side the bar in the evenings on the street and have a cocktail . You can order through the window . Would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Wengen

This was a fantastic hotel in the beautiful village of Wengen. The hotel had everything we needed and more. Every little detail had been thought of.||Excellent food, exceptionally friendly staff, lovely bar, great idea to have a tea/coffee and still/sparkling water station. Swimming pool/spa area was a very relaxing end to the day pre dinner
