Bread & Bone

My partner and I went out for dinner last night and ordered the $80 share-for-two meat platter. It was excellent — wings, brisket, ribs, pulled pork, fries, mac and cheese, and potato salad, all cooked perfectly with nothing to fault. For two people, $120 total for a huge meal we couldn’t even finish, plus a cocktail each, was a really good deal. It was a bit busy and loud, but I loved the music and the atmosphere. For the price, it’s a 10/10. We’ll definitely be back soon.

Hidden away on sleepy Peel Street is Bread & Bone, a “funky little burger joint,” or at least that’s what passes for funky in Adelaide. To be fair, on a Tuesday night, it’s basically a beacon of civilisation in a city that seems to turn off the lights and head to bed right after the 5pm. We bravely ventured in and ordered the buttermilk chicken and the cheeseburger, both perfectly satisfying, though perhaps that’s just the hunger talking after walking past 14 closed restaurants. Service was good, with the staff seemingly happy to service us...which in Adelaide seems rare. All in all, Bread & Bone is the kind of place you’re grateful for, not because it’s mind-blowing, but because it’s open. In Adelaide, that alone makes it a foir-star miracle.

Atmosphere a service was great .. We were excited to come here and try the main meat platter - however it needs some work - pulled pork was over bearing with too much spice and cider in the marinade - beef and the ribs were good and the wings too.. the platter really needs some slaw and some picked veges to help cut through the richness

Bread & Bone was a great experience from start to finish. The standout for us was the steak frites – absolutely spot on. The steak was cooked perfectly to temperature, with a beautiful sear on the outside and juicy, tender meat inside. Every bite had that rich, charred flavor you want from a good grill, without being overdone or chewy. And I have to mention the tater tots – seriously underrated and these were excellent. Super crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, and really well seasoned. They’re the kind of side you start picking at and suddenly realise you’ve eaten the whole bowl. Overall, the food, friendly service, and relaxed atmosphere made it a really enjoyable visit. I’d definitely recommend Bread & Bone, especially if you’re a steak lover – the steak frites and tater tots combo is absolutely worth coming back for. 🥩🧂🥔

Ordered the soft shell crab bun and arancini balls. The soft shell crab bun was quite nice and would probably recommend. The arancini balls were actually tasty too, but they were already at room temp when they served it to me so that was quite disappointing.

We celebrated a friend’s birthday on November 18th. The atmosphere was quite nice, although we were supposed to have an indoor reservation. In the end, they told us the table inside was occupied and they would seat us in the hallway area that opens onto the street. It didn’t really bother us because we were in a good mood for the birthday celebration. There were nine of us in total, and we ordered five burgers. All my friends mentioned that the chips had a strange taste, an unpleasant aftertaste. I ordered the B&B Burger, the flavour was good and the meat was quite juicy, but nothing extraordinary. My expectations were a bit higher. Two of my friends ordered the B&B BBQ Board, and the portion size was good. According to their comments, it was delicious. The service was always good and the staff were very attentive.

Great location in buzzy area of town for eating. Walkable from main hotels. Busy restaurant with good menu. Staff were very busy but kept you up to date. Ali was very flexible finding us a suitable table despite not having booked. I wanted soft shell crab and found it here! Was delicious as was brisket with Mac n cheese ( not on options below). I also had the squid . Didn’t have them but the burgers looked good!

The brisket was tender and full of flavor, absolutely delicious. Dessert was just as impressive, caramelized banana with ice cream, perfectly balanced. Great food and a lovely dining experience overall!

We stopped here for lunch and had a great tasting meal. I had the chicken burger and chips and it was delicious. Service was very quick and it was a great atmosphere. Peel street is a great night spot for dinner, wine or craft beer. Its also great for lunch too!

I was really excited to try this place out based off reviews and photos. Great ambiance and vibes going on. Food was good, I got the fried chicken sandwich and fries. The fried chicken was great, but the sauce on the burger, just didn't really match up. Sandwich came with fries, but it was a very small portion. I would like to go back for their hot dogs and ribs. They looked great. They have a nice range of drinks to choose from. The service was extremely slow, took forever to get drinks and when the drinks finally came, the wrong one came. The service was nice, just slow. They ran out of buns towards the end of the night and out of desserts as well. I feel like there's lots of potential here, would like to give it a second chance.

Food was awesome had a B&B burger. The service was great from the time you walk in n left. The cocktails were delicious and a variety of tap beer , a must in Australia , Adelaide

Was walking through the side streets of Adelaide and smell beef brisket. Made our way in to Bread & Bone. I ended up ordering the Steak Frites and well worth it. Service was very good and fast food. Frites EWR thin and wonderful (as they should be)

Fell upon this place walking near our hotel. Liked the little patio out front and was not sure about going in as it is a very dark entrance but worth the "risk"! One of us has the B&B burger and the other the pork belly. We also shared the corn salad. Sals was crisp and delightful. I don't eat a lot of beef or burgers but this was amazing! Perfect size and blend of flavours. Great vibe to the place. Would def go back!!

Food wasn't the greatest, possibly cause we tried something different. Really like the entrance and ambience of the place tho. We got the Korean fried chicken burger. It was recommended as it was a really popular special before so it became part of their regular menu. The chicken was a thick piece of boneless thigh. It was possibly only floured and pan fried instead of battered deep fried so it was kinda soggy. Would be better if the chicken was pounded flat or filleted so it fit the bun rather than being a ball of chicken. Thought it would have been seasoned as Korean chicken usually is but it just seemed like a piece of chicken in a bun with kimchee. Also tried the special crispy pork banh mi. The pork was pretty good but the French bread was terrible. It was sort of like old dry bread that they toasted so it was crumbly and dry. It was either old or they toasted the bread too long and it dried out. Normally banh mi bread is super crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. One good thing there was the fries. The staff was also pretty friendly. Maybe next time we will try a plain burger.

A good feed indeed but not great, when I say not great it's only because we've been spoiled for choice lately with so many really good burger Bars opening up and the healthy competition is doing wonders for this state that was severely lacking prior to just a few years ago. We were greeted and seated by a guy who was genuinely happy, relaxed and helpful. The girl who took our order however was rushed and rude and quite miserable really, working myself in retail and dealing with people all day I don't really blame her for being down, I don't even have to deal with people post 5:30pm. This chick is working on a SATURDAY NIGHT no wonder she's hating it. This didn't spoil our night but just some feedback, we ordered a couple of the 300's which were pretty good and on an out of 10 scale would rate a 7 for mine. Fries that came with the burgers was good as a change up to thick solid chips. Service was prompt yet as spoken before ride and rushed by the girl. Would come again if invited by friends but now it's been ticked off the list there are plenty of other places for better value, taste and service. The burger was $23.50 and just good.

Without a doubt is the best burger in the town. We ordered the 300 and B&B. The patties were cooked to perfection ( medium) the buns were butter toasted and fluffy the relish, the cheese and the sauce and the fries were just absolutely perfect, very lovely and professional staff and all and all was a perfect combination of flavours. Can't wait to try it again. It is the place for real burger lovers.

I've heard so much about B&B Wood Grill, good and bad, but it's considered one of the better burger spots in Adelaide so I pretty much have to check it out! I've never eaten at Peel Street. It's a funky little alley street with a few bars and restaurants through it and I really like the atmosphere. With B&B I prefer sitting outside with the dim lights and fresh air. It may be known for its burgers, but never mind that...I'm coming back for the hotdogs- 'meat in tube form' as Anthony Bourdain would say. Actually I've been twice already this past week to get the B&B hotdog because I like it that much. It's a salty, greasy and delicious mess. It's pretty much guaranteed that it's going to fall apart at some point. It's just a bacon wrapped vienna, onion rings, kewpie and ketchup and cheese but oh my god it's delicious and amazing! The sausage is of good quality, the casing has that nice snap and firm bite. The onion rings take it to the next level and gives some nice crunch because apart from sausage and the bun there's not much texture in a hotdog. The brioche was also wonderful- shiny and soft like it should be. The service can be a bit slow like the second time, but to their credit they brought everything out pretty much at the same time, for a table of five. The fris also come unsalted but there is a dish of flaky sea salt that you can sprinkle over them. One more negative is the price. It's $18 or $19 for the hotdog and fries which is a tad pricey for a hotdog but it's so good I'll come back for it anyways. After B&B a few nights ago we went out for dessert and my friend and I were still commenting on how nice the hotdog was! I'm definitely coming back to get it again...or should I try something else? I've tried one or two of the burgers. They're not bad but didn't blow me away. Hotdog and cider sounds much better. They have only 2 desserts but I saw something interesting but can't remember what it was.

If you haven't heard of peel st then you clearly have been living under a rock eating tasteless food and lucky to get some water! Peel st I'm in love! I just can't enough of this st and just when I thought I couldn't love it anymore a new place pops up to tantalise my taste buds! Bread and Bone is the newest place to hit peel st. Again it's the the unpretentious feel that gives you a sense of belonging and not questioning if you chose the right venue. If you find yourself walking down Leigh St them you will be pleasantly surprised there is now an adjoining tunnel to Peel st! (Watch for it near casa blah blah) annnnd you can even sit in the tunnel, people watch and enjoy a drink at the same time! Given it was opening night everything was a mad rush and staff had to still make a common place for their feet- completely understandable. You can see through to the kitchen and watch your food being made by the hard working chefs. We had apertivo earlier on as la moka so it was only some fried for us as a main meal just seemed to much. The chips were nice crispy just as fries should be. The bulk of their menu is deviated to burgers and dogs BUT before you get worries about another burger place they do also have a grill section allowing you to have a substantial meal without the bread of a burger or hot dog. All the burgers and dogs have beautiful sounding flavour combinations. I will be back not only to soak up the atmosphere but to eat dinner next time. Annnnd if your feeling mysterious try finding the sister bar... Maybe Mae through the hidden trap door downstairs...

Had the fish burger ........with yellow curry sauce ( mild) - exceptionally tasty......place is packed

We went to Bread and Bone on Saturday night at about 8:30pm, and with 7 of us we obviously had a bit of a wait. The staff there were very friendly and directed us down to Maybe Mae below to wait for a table. After about 45 minutes, we had our table and were ordering burgers. I went for the B&B and grabbed a mismatch ale. The interior of this place felt a bit crammed with the bench tables, but it's probably the best layout to fit as many people as possible. The interior has it of a 1920's/ industrial vibe about it with cool black metal pendant lights springing out from the middle of the tables. The burgers took about another 40 minutes to get to us and although they were quite small for the price, they were very tasty. Probably the most similar burger I've had in Adelaide would be Nordburger. Well cooked and had great sauce. The fries though were a bit lacklustre and reminded me of McDonald's fries on a very good day. Typical french fries. All in all I see what the fuss is about and would like to visit again on a less busy night to see if the speed of service and quality improves.

Burgers for dayssssssss This new little addition to adelaide is ridiculous. In the best way possible. Cheeseburgers, alternative staff and super cool atmosphere. Sahhhhhhh gooddd

Further to my previous review, I finally returned here to try the food for a lunch time birthday celebration. Firstly, as is the trend nowadays, you can't reserve a table which can be a pain if you're set on a place and want to ensure you can get in. The three of us came in at 12pm and the place wasn't too busy so we were okay for that. Seating is at the again, ever-trendy communal tables which I've previously expressed much hate for. Happily, I was not immediately encroached upon although Loudy McLoud and his mate were propped at the end of our table. The menu features an array of the burgers and dogs that are so popular right now as well as some fairly pricy main meals. I wanted the fried chicken but because I hate coleslaw, asked to swap for potato salad which I assumed - being the same price as the coleslaw on the sides menu - had the same perceived value. No. We can't do swaps. Really? You can't scoop out of one bucket and not the other? Side-eye. I went for the BB burger instead which came with fries. It was tasty, fresh and flavourful and the fries were fries. It was all good and the glass of sparkling that accompanied it was also good. The space has that industrial feel so popular at the moment with pressed copper sheeting on the ceiling, statement filament lighting and an open kitchen with black feature walls and polished concrete floor - be mindful if you're wearing heels. To summarise, I enjoyed my meal but with so many new option to try in Adelaide, I wouldn't rush back.

Really nice burgers by the looks of things, there is only one vego one so I can only judge from that. This place nails the little things too. The chips are great, as are the onion rings. Solid choice for lunch, a little more expensive than it should be though, in my opinion.

This place definitely has the WOW factor when you step foot in this hip and happening joint. An underground food tunnel in itself is a novelty factor - but the beaming staff, bustling open kitchen and ambiance makes this place go off! A mate and I popped in one quiet Thursday night and the crowd in there was impressive, people were clearly enjoying themselves and the atmosphere was reminiscence of a upper end New York bar. Now let's talk about the food - a glowing review would be for naught if the food wasn't up to par - but think again because I drool over my laptop thinking about my feed. I did a quick search on Yelp for reviews and recommendations as I was so torn between ordering a burger, hot dog or mains - it all looked delicious. In the end I settled for the soft shell crab burger, my mate had the three pigs and we shared the fried chicken with slaw and a side of fries. As we waited for our food we ordered some drinks, I tried the Hog Hop which was an Indian Pale Ale and surprisingly light and refreshing on the palate. We were seated near the bar/kitchen so we could observe the bustling behind the scene action. The aroma from the grill reminded me of Hungry Jacks - must be their flame-grilled action. When our food arrived it was heaven on various plates! My SSC burger was amazeballs, I loved the crunchy texture of my crab nestled in the bun, the fried chicken was nicely coated, the slaw alongside it was very tasty - all in all I was stuffed! When offered dessert, I eyeballed my neighbors soft serve with a popcorn topping enviously but I had to decline. I felt like I was about to give birth to a food baby. Between the two of us it was about $37 each which is pricey for a quick dinner stop but we did order a fair bit. I'm keen to return next time to try their hot dogs and mains, the 6 hour braised brisket looks as good as it sounds. I'm sure to be back!

One of the Trendy new places hitting the back streets of Adelaide. This one tucked in a laneway between Leigh and Peel Streets. They atmosphere and design is well thought out, with communal bench seating taking up most of the space. An open kitchen pumping out the great odours. The staff friendly and courteous make it a good feeling place to be. The food comes across as being made with care. I started with a basic B&B Burger which was very tasty, it's not very large so good for just those with a moderate appetite. I'm interested to try some of the other options on the menu another time.. (maybe even boost my rating then..)

Was in Town for work and found this place on Yelp. It was a little tricky to find on a dark rainy night, hidden down a lane and managed to walk past it a couple of times. Got a seat at the bar and tried out a couple of the beers. All Aussie boutique beers I hadn't heard of before. Enjoyed them all. IPA was my favourite, but I forget it's name. I found it hard to make a choice and ended up going for the southern squealer. Burger was awesome. Pulled pork some of the best I've had. Amazing flavour through the meat and it went well with chipotle aioli. My mouth was left with a smokey bbq spicey tang in it. Made me want another one. Only two small negatives, for the price I think the burger should be just a little bigger. Maybe that's why I was left wanting more and when I bit in there was a small bone that I crunched my tooth on, but that can happen with pulled pork shoulder. If I am back in town, I would definitely pay this place a visit again.

Visited Bread and Bone on a Saturday arvo. Pretty busy and you can see why! The BEST burger in Adelaide without a doubt. Cool place to grab a bite, nice variety of beers/ ales plus a good wine list. Service was superb very attentive. Try the sardines for starters... WOW.

These guys make a bloody good burger! And they do fried chicken! What is not to love? On this visit we tried both and were very pleased. The burgers were great and they came with chips - which is a fantastic bonus as then I don't feel guilty eating them. The fried chicken came as either hot or bloody hot. We tried the hot and the waitress gave us the bloody hot sauce on the side - delicious and not as crazy hot as I would have thought given the name. They also make a mean milkshake here and they can be alcoholic milkshakes if you desire. Well worth a visit and I would love to give them another go when I am next in Adelaide.

I have eaten here about 8 times now, love the burgers and the beer they put on tap. My favourites are 3 little pigs and the soft shell crab. Keen to try some of the hot dogs, but always go back to the burgers! Good chips too, very big serve for one, which is a good thing

This place has an amazing ambience. The tables with the lamps hanging over them, the tables that swing when seated on the couch (clever), the black brick bar and the curved steel above it. Food was fabbo. The hot chicken wings left a real zing in your mouth. The really hot ones must be something to behold. The slow cooked beef was sweet and pull apart tender. It went well with the slaw. We also had the Philly cheese sandwich, which was incredibly well balanced with the pepper chutney. Server was excellent.

Went for a quick bite at lunch time on a Friday, and thought we'd nailed it by going early, but it was almost full by the time we rocked up at midday. If you've got a group of more than 4 - best get in earlier than that! (They don't take bookings, but you can always eat outside in the tunnel) Being gluten-free ALL their 'Grill' items are either gf, or can be made gluten free with some minor adjustments, so let them know when you order. As for the burgers - my mate had a B&B and I'd say he enjoyed it, cos it was gone in no time! I ordered the 'Three Little PIgs' sans bun with bacon, ham and pork. It also cam e with some 'slaw and skinny fired. It too was gone before I knew it - but I'll be back! Must come at nighttime so I can sample their good looking wine list too.

One of Peel Streets newest additions above the "New York style" tunnel is fast going to be an Adelaide favourite. Two weeks in & there is already a buzz around it. Despite being early Saturday night there was still a little wait, to pass the time our group headed to a little hole in the wall (literally) Maybe Mae bar downstairs. Annoyingly you can't take your drinks up when your table is ready but the bar is well worth a visit The staff at Bread & Bone are friendly and attentive. Although busy we weren't waiting for ages for our order to be taken. The burgers were a favourite at our table & nobody could fault their selection. I recommend a side of fries or onion rings for a perfect sized meal that doesn't leave you stuffed and sleepy. My only grievance was the treatment, after our table was cleared we were immediately brought the bill without asking for it. Everyone had being eyeing out the dessert - soft serve ice cream either popcorn or red velvet - and awkwardly had to order. After dessert our waiter came over and said without wanting to hurry us they were looking to turnover tables then proceeded to list the group numbers waiting. Which went against wanting to hurry us, by no means would we have stayed longer than another 10 mins so it left me feeling a little disappointed. I would definitely come back and hope they are a little more subtle trying to turn tables.

Still my favourite! Service excellent and manager always goes the extra mile to accomodate you. High energy vibe and great music including Tom waits and nick cave at times. Food can be a bit salty but not as much as jack ruby. Burgers are yum and so are hot dogs with quality meat cooked to perfection. love the beer especially the hoppy ales which are often rotated! They also have red wine on tap! Havent tried dessert yet which is a changing couple of slushies from their machine which are usually unusually flavoured. Maybe Mae cocktail bar is below and has the same beers on tap. Same owners I think. Do you like rockabilly? Prob not important as it has a great vibe anyway. Update on music in b&b - esoteric is prob an understatement as it ranges from Lionel Richie to modern electronica.

Holy Schnitzels Batman! Another burger joint?? Well, the 3 musketeers walked in, mouths watering and were ushered to an end of a table. We wanted wine but the list of prices was well over the general mark up trend. When politely inquired about the list, the smug waiter just tossed us off - we were just another number on the evening, not a customer worth of attention. So we went for beers. Food came along, we sampled the tiny ribs (as in small with little meat), and the burgers and a salad. Two sad looking chili sauces sat on the table. The ribs were close to the worst ribs I've had (over cooked, generic sauce and flavors, almost no meat and over $20 for the 6 calcium and marrow sticks). Burgers were fine, nothing special but worthy of the gobble gobble. However, the prices were over the top for what we were getting. Perhaps popularity and the effort to appease the masses has affected the original strive for quality and pushing the burger boundaries. If this is among the best burgers in Adelaide, we are in culinary trouble. Meh, I've definitely experienced better..

Bread and Bone. I'm in a bit of a pickle, I think I'm in a love/hate relationship with Bread and Bone but I will preface it with that I understand it could just be teething issues because they are so new. I have so much respect for a place that makes its 'healthy' burger arguably more delicious than the others - often the 'healthy'/vegetarian option is an afterthought but not at Bread and Bone. The quinoa and lentil burger was one of the best burgers ever with its yummy roast pumpkin and caramelised onion! General consensus around the table was that the food was delicious and everyone was really pleased. The next bit is my conundrum and the start of my love/hate relationship, noting that they are new so it could have been teething issues. Maybe Mae (the bar downstairs) and Bread & Bone should form a better relationship. We were sent downstairs to have a drink while we waited for a table (no issues) but then when our table was ready we couldn't take our drinks back upstairs which meant we had to quickly finish them and dash back upstairs. It could be a licensing issue (? Unknown) but I recommend ordering a drink that you can drink quite quickly and don't want to sip. Just like every busy restaurant they want to have the tables turned over quickly, but making your customers feel like they've outstayed their welcome the second they put down their knife and fork is not cool. As our plates were being collected we were given the bill, we said that we wanted dessert and felt like that wasn't really ideal from the waiter's perspective, we got it however and it was delicious (order the salted caramel soft serve - yum)! We were then told how many people were waiting (quoted actual numbers) and that they really wanted to turn over our table. It wasn't like we were lingering for hours - we had just finished eating!! I've been to plenty of busy restaurants who have the same "in and out" mentality but their tact is a little more skillful. So if you are looking for a relaxing night out then this possibly isn't the venue because, to be honest, I felt like a bit of an inconvenience the entire time. If you want a quick meal before a night out drinking on Peel/Leigh Street (a cute tunnel connects the two) well then this place is perfect! I love the food and once they aren't super busy maybe the hospitality will improve.

A very cool burger restaurant in Peel Street. The location above a bar was the only reason we found this gem of a place on a pre-Xmas night out. The staff looked after our clearly quite tipsy party very well and cared enough to furnish our table with plenty of H2O as soon as we sat down. The menu (of which my memory is a tad hazy) features burgers, (including veggie burgers), hot dogs and lots of sides like fries and onion rings. Our meal was delicious. Very moorish. The staff were great and I am raring to get back for a burger (I had a hotdog on this visit). Bread and Bone reminds me of Bubbles n Dogs in London (which only sells champagne and Hot Dogs, naturally). The atmosphere is really fun and laid back but it's still a classy joint.

Good American food and great service. They accommodated our party of 12 without much trouble. I'm not a drinker, however others in the group enjoyed their extensive beer selection.

We came here on a Tuesday night after work and it was PACKED! Who would have thought? The atmosphere is totally hipster (in a good way), very stylish and relaxed. We sat at the bar, as there were no free tables - but that didn't feel weird at all ;) I ordered the 'Three Little Pigs' burger - 'roast pork, heritage ham, smoked bacon, wombok, kewpie, confit onion, cheese, green sauce'. Seriously, this the BEST burger I have ever had in my life - totally amazing!! My partner had the Special Fried Chicken which was served with house slaw, which was equally amazing. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be back again very soon!!!

BURGERLICIOUS! Yep! I said it! And, I also gave Bread & Bone a fab five stars! Why you ask? In no particular order.. 1. Their BURGERS! I couldn't even tell you the name of the one I had because I was too damn excited to eat the damn thing, but it had chicken, avo, greens, that amazing Japanese mayo you get at Sushi Train on a b-b-beautiful BUN! 2. That Mayo (seriously now, get on it!). 3. Their range of sides!! from coleslaw (or slaw), veggies, salad or "would you like some fries with that.. amazing burger?!". Trust me though, get the fries, as they are to die for and compliment the perfect bit of heaven on your plate. 4. The knowledgable, friendly and fun staff! I don't know his name, but he was a tall, handsome guy who knew his burgers (and everything else on the menu). After escorting us to our seats on a buzzing Thursday night around 8, he gave us the menu, and guided us through out as he knew it was our first time (I guess he could tell from all the gooing and gahing that my friend and I did!" He swiftly took our orders and brought the food out in no time. He also paid attention, and re-filled our waters .. DING DING, extra special service! 5. The interior and atmosphere.. I don't know if it was that dimmed, mysterious lighting amongst the hipster, grunge-like, upper-market feels of this place, but everyone had a damn smile on their faces whilst they sipped their vino and scoffed down a burger or hotdog! I just loved it! 6. The overall satisfaction I felt when my tummy wasn't bloated, bursting or gurgling, it was damn happy and so was I! I'll be telling all my friends and I'll see you soon Bread & Bone!

Trendy is what it is plus that with tasty burger perfect fit. Close to other entertainment venues make it a perfect location for food before an outing

The best veggie burger I have ever had!!! Quinoa & lentil patty is so so amazing, I could eat that on its own no worries. But of course it comes on a burger- brioche bun that just melts away in your mouth, and pumpkin that is cooked to perfection. It usually comes with yoghurt but I suggest swapping that out for kewpie (Japanese mayo) which just takes it to that next level. Great service & atmosphere make the overall experience just fantastic.

My first experience down Peel St, and it's amazeballs! The staff were friendly helpful and Quirky! I got the B and B burger and it was delicious!! What a treat! Onion rings are a must!! The atmosphere was really good, lots of cool cats floating around - the tables in the tunnels are great people watching spots!! Love it, will definitely be heading back!

Look, don't get me wrong. I'm a big fan of a huge, thick juicy steak... Saucy ribs are my idea of heaven... I'm not afraid of devouring potatoes cooked in cream and cheese or gorging on potatoes deep fried and salted, and I would literally embrace a serve of slaw like it's a long lost friend once it arrives infront of me.... But I wasn't so sure about this place. I came with a friend for a long overdue catch up - we managed to get seated straight away on communal bench seating in the middle of the restaurant. Our waitress was lovely and the interior was nice although pretty industrial and sparse. I guess this leads to one of the things that irked me.... I could barely hear my friend talking even though she was about a ruler's length across from me. Yeah, I love a good 90s anthem while I'm chowing down on a hearty hunk of meat (enter appreciation for INXS and Soul Asylum) but music is supposed to be background stuff as opposed to the obstacle of a good night out. The interior decor made the music a lot louder and I had to keep asking my buddy to repeat herself which got old after the fifth time. As for the food... I ordered a steak medium rare and it came out medium/medium well done and the potato dauphinoise portion was pretty small. My friend's beef ribs were good albeit a little bit one dimensional in flavour (sweet) and her slaw was soggy. Not to say I wouldn't come back and give this place another try but maybe I'd have a few wines first, get a bit tipsy so that speaking in a higher volume would just come naturally.

Some might say burgers have seen there day in Adelaide but service like this is hard to come across. Jess at Bread and Bone challenged us and upsold like it was nobody's business. It is this type of service I enjoy the most. She knew the menu and could read us well to make appropriate recommendations. H explain that the 300 would take 20 minutes to cook and recommended we try their corn, coriander and jalapeño croquettes (4). Delicious. The right amount of spice for my liking. I chose the B&B burger and it was flawless. I paired it with Stone and Wood's Pacific Ale and left happy full (able to stand up straight). Beautiful aesthetics and knowledge staff. I highly recommend this place.

Outstanding wood grilled burgers. No detail went unnoticed. The buns are fresh day baked milk buns, the sauces have the perfect ratio of acidic to sweet balance. The salad for burger were crisp and crunchy. Lastly, the star of the show, the beef was a perfect medium rare loaded with grilled wood smoke and juicy moist. The burgers have a nostalgic wood grilled taste akin to grilling along a campfire or camping trip. Oh, even the maple syrup ice was phenomenal!

Went on a Friday night, pretty busy, there was a wait list but we managed to snare two seats at the bar. Great decor and atmosphere. Service was superb, and we scored a super happy and enthusiastic girl who absolutely 'made' our night. We had the chicken burger and the b&b burger. Burgers are 'gourmet' size, (read 'small for guys') but nevertheless are bursting with flavour. Despite the burger bar feel you get a waitress/waiter that attends to your group alone and ours was impressively attentive and friendly. We even got free taster size soft serves at the end, which were amazing as well. Definitely coming back.

Really great burgers. Cool venue, and located near other cool places. I found it accidentally one lunchtime after a big ride (visiting Adelaide for the TDU), then went again the next day with more friends, and it was the first place I went back to when I took the girlfriend to visit Adelaide a few months later.

I love this place! The burgers are amazing with such soft brioche, they are the best burgers I've had in Adelaide so far. The service is quick and the opening hours are extremely convenient if you've had a big night out.

Bread and Bone has great burgers and cider/beer. It is ALWAYS busy (which can be a good or bad thing) so you do need to always wait for a table. But the staff are great, good to talk to and engaging. The burgers are tasty; beef juicy and tender. Yum!

This place is a must visit. Literally the best burger i ever tried in my entire life. Do try the B&B burger it comes with chips too and enjoy a beer. They do have outdoor seating too. A must when visiting Adelaide.

Well, I finally made it to Bread and Bone and I was not disappointed! For some reason I had been putting it off, thinking it was just another burger place and nothing to get excited about. Boy was I wrong! We managed to nab a table for 4 at about 7:30pm on a Saturday night with no reservation (miraculous!) and straight away I had my eye on the fried chicken. My American palate is picky about fried chicken, after spending so much time living in a country where you can buy fried chicken from the salad bar at the supermarket and it's better than anything you can get here. The rest of our party ordered burgers - they all looked good but I didn't waste any stomach space tasting them - I had a rather huge task ahead of me! The fried chicken came with two HUGE breast pieces, on the bone, and a fresh, tasty coleslaw to cut through the grease. I also ordered a side of the creamy mashed potato because duh. I shredded all of my chicken off of the bone straight away because I actually really don't like picking meat off of bones and would rather just get that part out of the way. It was delicious. My qualm is that the breading was pretty thick, which wouldn't have mattered if it was just one breast piece but seriously I could barely finish half of my meal. The service was excellent, our waitress was so super friendly and so was the young man working the door who got us our table. We shared a carafe of the tempranillo, very nice, and also shared an entree, the pork belly skewers. These were disappointing because in my opinion pork belly is a useless piece of meat unless it's been baked until super crispy. I think these had been grilled or something. Anyway, I'll definitely be back, loved the atmosphere and I was very impressed by the prices.

Love the atmosphere. Limited menu of burgers & hot dogs but what they serve is excellent. Small but good wine & beer menu. Very friendly & prompt service. They have a Chicago hot dog on the menu & being from Chicago, I can tell you the ingredients are perfect down to the celery salt! No, I didn't order one as I can get one in Chicago but the cheeseburger was great.

Oh gosh - how have I not yet reviewed this place?! These burgers are divine! The same people behind Press (who have my favourite burger in town!) - so of course they totally hit the mark. With a cheese burger (served with skinny fries) starting at only $12.50, prices are also very good. There is a range of great options - some great burgers, hot dogs and meaty choices, as well as a couple of delicious desserts (In the past I've had the salted caramel popcorn soft serve, though I noticed that it wasn't on the menu on my last visit - sad face!) The service is friendly and polite and although the place does get busy, it doesn't get toooooo loud (it's a little loud but not the worst). I'll always be back - because I really like this place - but the reason my review is missing one star? Everyone likes this place and you can't book a table - like they do not take bookings, which is a bit of a burden if you want to 'plan' a night out - however you can always wait!

Excellent food, great decorum. A great place to go for an easy, fun meal with friends. Great selection of comfort food and cocktails. Try the soft shell crab burger.

Sweet place, good craft beers. Burgers are expensive if size matters to you, but let's face it that huge burger you normally eat may look like good value but you'll never finish it. I tried the B&B. The meat was smoked and cooked perfectly, full of flavour. fries were heavily salted but I like them that way. The bar staff were attentive and friendly. it was quiet but at least they weren't acting bored.

Pretty great (from an out of towner's point-of-view). Adelaide looked v.sketchy out tonight, this place was clearly the right choice. Good burger, great beer (Sierra Nevada Torpedo on tap) and a super cute (and sweet) bartender. Done.
