Out of the 6 wineries we visited this by far had the best service! Rob was super fun and was a highlight of our trip. Napa can be somewhat pretentious at times but the atmosphere here was more laid back which my husband and our friends really appreciated. I would love to visit this winery again & recommend starting your tasting here as the pours are generous and it’s just a great time. Lastly their rosé was amazing!

Enjoyed this winery so much! The walk into the winery was beautiful and the tasting room was clean and beautiful. Comfortable seating too. Kyle helped us and we appreciated his knowledge and expertise about the wines. So glad we met Kyle. Excited that I will be getting my first wine club shipment next month!!

My girlfriends and I came across Bread and Butter on Platypus Tours, we loved it so much we came back the next day to buy more wine, and join the wine club! The atmosphere was very friendly, inviting, and fun! The wines were the best we tasted in the valley! Lori was amazing, we wanted to take her home with us. She was able to call some friends and get us into some more places as well! We are already planning our trip back.

From Red to White: A Love Story in a Bottle I’m 70 years old, and in my decades of wine-drinking, I’ve been a devoted bold red wine lover and an unapologetic white wine hater — for all of those 70 years. My wife of 45 years, Goldie, has always been a Sauvignon Blanc fan, so in my quest to tempt her away to something new, I went searching for the perfect Chardonnay. By pure accident, I stumbled upon Bread & Butter Chardonnay. The bottle I originally wanted wasn’t in stock, so I grabbed this as a “backup.” Little did I know, it would change everything. When I poured Goldie her first glass, she lit up after one sip. Curious (and still skeptical), I stole a taste… and that was it. My red wine days were over. I’ve converted — completely — to this stunning Chardonnay. The flavor profile is utterly addictive: rich, complex, and unforgettable. I crave it daily. It’s hard to describe exactly why it’s so perfect — maybe that’s just the 70-year-old in me talking — but I know I never want it to change. This isn’t just Goldie’s wine anymore. It’s ours. Bread & Butter, you’ve crafted a gem. You turned a lifelong white wine hater into a lifelong Chardonnay devotee. Cheers to you for making our forever wine.

So happy to have visited one of my fave wineries. It’s definitely more of a boutique feel and smaller but we loved the intimacy compared to other wineries in Napa. Shout out to Tim for the impeccable service!

Yelp
It's like bread n' buttah, baby! Smooth and delectable with each and every sip of wine. Yeeeep... the name truly speaks for its' self. Bread & butter really knows how to serve up exceptional wines and service! My friend and I came here for a tasting and we were both blown away by our experience here. First of all, it is SOOO nice to find an intimate boutique winery that's perched along the famous Silverado trail. It's not touristy, overcrowded, or pretentious and the tasting room is so freakin' CUTE! It's chic and stylish without being super boujee. Honestly, this is 100% my kind of vibe. Can we get into the service piece really quickly?! Michelle and Sharon were fantastic! Not only were they both knowledgeable about everything that we tasted, they were so fun to chat with and full of so many funny and engaging stories. It truly felt like we were chatting it up with some old friends. They play off of each other well and the playful and positive energy was very well received. It's so nice to have the ladies in the house! As someone who loves Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, I instantly fell in love with the wines here. They are soft and easy drinking. Smooth like butter, really. The Chardonnay is citrusy and creamy which is how I prefer my Chards (although I don't mind buttery every now and again). The Pinot stole my heart. It was a mix of everything that I adore: floral, fruit forward, round, and it has this amazing lingering finish that it just like woooow. Loved it to absolute pieces. Honestly, I enjoyed every single wine that I tried. Even the Merlot was tasty and I've never been much of a Merlot gal, but dayum. The wines are truly undeniable. Such a wonderful experience here. I will definitely be back for more of that delicious wine and to hear more funny stories.

Yelp
We had reservations for Saturday 2:30pm for Mother's Day weekend. We saw that there's two tasting flights for $45 and $75. The lady who helped us didn't even ask and assumed we wanted to do the $45 only. After she poured the first wine, we asked her if there's only one menu. She made a comment about needing to start my husband from the beginning now that we told her late. Lady, you didn't even ask. We thought the first glass was complimentary like some other wineries. I think white wines are more their forte here. The reds were on the tannic side and earthy for us. They have a nice indoor seating area. There's outdoor seating too. Sauvignon blanc- funky smell Rose- decent Pinot noir- tannic , alcoholic Merlot - tannic alcoholic Napa cab- tannic , alcoholic Brut Cuvee- decent Veeder Chardonnay- good, flavorful Rutherford cab- earth , tannic Mnt cab- earth , tannic Atlas peak cab- tannic , earth

Yelp
Nice boutique winery in Napa. Smaller and more informal than most wineries in the area. Very friendly service. The winery looks brand new and very modern. Very Insta-friendly!

Yelp
Went on a trip to Napa with my friends. My friend tried Bread and Butter Wines from the market before so she wanted to check out their tasting room. We drove up from Orange County. I'm so glad we went because we loved coming here! I would go out of my way to come here. We did our tasting outside in their patio and it was a nice day, not too hot or cold, and it was sunny. You could see their vineyards from here, what a nice view! We loved their wines here so much that each of us bought a couple bottles. If I'm being honest I can't remember what we bought but everything was really good and reasonably priced, I think their most expensive bottle was less than $50. And I love that you can buy their bottles at your local market too. I love wine tastings. Even after just one tasting, I leave feeling a little tipsy! In between each tasting, we walked around their vineyards a bit, very nice! We made online reservations for the wine tastings and paid for it online before coming, it was reasonably priced. I think it was $40 per person. The place is easy to find and they have a lot of free parking. Service is very friendly! I loved the ambiance here, very relaxing. Their tasting room has a modern feel to it, yet still somewhat casual and relaxing.

Yelp
We arrived for our tasting at 2PM and were seated in the mid-modern indoor tasting room due to our bigger party size. It was quite cold inside and I wish we had sat outdoors to enjoy more of the view. We were taking our time with our tastings but felt pretty rushed because the host kept coming back to pour our next drink. The only wine I remembered liking was the rose which we also bought two additional bottles for our ride home.

Yelp
My first stop in Napa and they certainly set the bar high. I booked a wine tasting for 2 at Bread &Butter. Admittedly, I never tasted the brand before but I was drawn in by the reviews and they sure were right. We arrived about 15 mins early and they were able to accommodate us right away. Our host was very knowledgeable about their vineyard operations, the different wines we were tasting and even what would be best to pair with. We bought two bottles, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc. Last but certain not least, the views were beautiful. We sat outside in the patio for our tasting. Would definitely recommend it!

Yelp
Why go to crowded noisy tasting rooms elsewhere, when you can come here. The wines, made by award winning winemaker Laura Trotter are to die for. And they're like half the price of other similar wines. Laurie is amazing, she not only knows everything about the wine, but how and where you should stand for the best picture in the Vineyard. Everyone in our party had a fabulous time. I just can't say enough about this place. Can I give six stars?

Julia L.

Yelp
great tasting and venue. they really treat you like special guests. Lori is great and so informative!! they're working on getting bread&butter paired with the tastings, but bring out the spread for events. will definitely be returning for the ambience and wine. don't leave without a bottle of the howell mountain cabernet sauvignon!!

Yelp
Bread a Butter is the best kept secret in Napa. Not only is their wine amazing, but their staff far exceeds any service at any other winery I have ever been to in Napa. I am a club member and when I go to pick my shipment up the all greet me, when I walk in, as if I am a family member. It's a truly amazing winery. In addition the ambiance is mellow and welcoming. Also love the decor they did an excellent job making it simple and beautiful.

Yelp
Great experience. We stopped here with our Platypus Wine Tour. Our host, Matt, was great. He shared great insight and information about the wine making process and the company philosophy. It enhanced the experience. We appreciated the modern facility and the wine was good.

Yelp
Wonderful service! Marissa and Jo were friendly and attentive. Wines were delicious-- and the patio relaxing. We will recommend this winery to friends.

Yelp
Came to Napa for the weekend and Bread & Butter was the shining star of the weekend. We enjoyed every wine we tried but even moreso, the service and conversation with our pourers. Sharon is AMAZING. She instantly gave us a warm welcome, was so knowledgeable about the wines and we had so much fun just chatting with her throughout our tasting. She also has solid recommendations for your time in Napa. Matt poured with us too towards the end and was great! He taught us some fun tricks to aerate our wine in the glass (which we took to our inn's happy hour - a total hit)! We've loved the bottles we purchased and can't wait to come back with friends soon.

Yelp
Hands down, the best wine tasting I've ever been too! Lori, (Affectionately know as Auntie Lori by my friends and I) F*cking AMAZING! She made our visit! She's knowledgeable, down to earth and so passionate about this business. We came to B&B as lovers of the white labels we pick up in grocery stores and such! But we left lovers & members of the Black Label B&B! Don't forget, we live across the country and the membership includes some great perks for events at the vineyard! So, we'll be back! We went in early October and the grounds were beautiful, though picking season was over. I love the clean, minimal feeling of the entire space!

Yelp
Love love love coming to this winery. Been to many wineries in the past, have been members at many of the big ones also have worked at a major producer. The service here is always on point and very informative. The staff loves sharing their passion for their wine! They have several areas where groups can enjoy the sips. They do have an outdoor patio area as well. They do have several single appellation Cabernets, which are delicious. Check out the Howell MTN cab for a real teeth punch. They do require reservations, and they have let us bring our dog to the patio area. He prefers to be the chauffeur and wait in the driver seat

Yelp
Amazing customer service. I haven't been to the physical location, but dealing with them over email recently makes me want to visit ASAP. Their cab is my absolute favorite and I make sure to tell everyone about it. This winery looks lovely and is on my bucket list. Thank you for all you help recently :)

Yelp
Nice, modern tasting room with some excellent offerings. We stopped here as part of a tour group and our host, Marissa, was bubbly, chatty, funny, informative, and she pours a nice sample, too. We liked the white wines here particularly. Actually Marissa offered a couple of extra pours that were not on the tasting menu and my wife loved the sparkling wine - she said it was among her favorite things she sampled after visiting about a half dozen wineries.

Yelp
My husband and I visited this winery and it was just lovely. Lori Reed explained various details about each wine we tasted; she was so pleasant and professional. This was a very, very experience and we even went out into the vineyard to sample some of the grapes on the vines. It was so fun and relaxing. Thank you VDC

John M.

Yelp
Amazing service and the wine was delicious! Ended up becoming a member and can't wait to go back and try new wines. Favorites were the petite Syrah, Merlot, and Cab!

Luc L.

Yelp
Booked a wine tasting at Bread & Butter since it is one of the only Napa wine we can get back in Canada, and we had a wonderful time. Nice modern tasting room. Marissa was a great host, super friendly and talkative!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stopped on a whim while touring the vineyards along Silverado Lane and they graciously accommodated us even though we didn't have a reservation. We loved Laurie! She was kind and friendly. We loved our experience! highly recommend! We are new to wine tasting and couldn't have had a better experience.

Yelp
Sharon was amazing!! It's a very nice modern looking tasting room, but Sharon made it seem much more friendly and down to earth. HIGHLY recommend!

Yelp
Very good tasting of wines not available in the general market. Really sort of mind-blowing stuff. Beautiful tasting room set just on the edge of a beautiful vineyard. The guys there were very knowledgeable about their wines and the Valley in general. Super nice and easygoing atmosphere. Great place to go for people just getting into the finer things that Napa can offer or for someone that's been around the block a time or two. After having been in Napa/Sonoma for about a week, these were some of the best wines I tasted and some of the friendliest people to chat with.
google avatar

Rob M.

Yelp
Some of the best wines in the valley especially at the price point. The tasting room staff is awesome and a lot of fun. Great vibe here and a fun time to be had by all.

Yelp
Really great experience tasting at Bread and Butter. The location and facility are great, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed all the wines, especially the red blend and Pinot noir. The wines are a good value and I would definitely come back here.

Kenny S.

Yelp
This winery is a hidden gem. The wines are very good and are reasonably priced. Matt did a great job presenting the wines and discussing the history of the winery. It's worth the visit!

Lisa M.

Yelp
This winery is a must stop. The wines are delicious and Lori, the manager, was the perfect hostess.

Kendrice J.

Yelp
Sharon was amazing! We had a wonderful tasting and really enjoyed our experience here. Highly recommend!

Nicole R.

Yelp
Such a wonderful and personal experience. Since it was a slower Sunday, we were able to be in a private room area and Michelle was so friendly and made us feel so welcome. I will be telling everyone about this new winery!

Mary C.

Yelp
Upon my 1st visit to Bread & Butter, I was astounded of the knowledge from Lori, who served our group. Listening to her and the history of how B & B came to be, was amazing and so interesting. I immediately became a member and so look forward to my pickups. I live outside the area, so I make a trek to just this winery; my favorite is the white wine. The staff is so gracious and of course the ambiance is the best ever!!! I have referred my friends who live in Napa. Highly recommend!

Jeremy B.

Yelp
I live in Napa. If you want a cozy atmosphere without the stuffiness of a lot of Napa wineries, then visiting Bread & Butter's tasting room is a solid choice. You may know this brand and see it on the shelves of your local grocery store or retailer. Warning 1: those wines are not available for tasting in their Napa tasting room. Warning 2: you will probably really love the higher-end Napa Valley bottlings, which they DO serve and sell from the tasting room. And, IMO, the Rose and Cab Sauv are particularly good. Check out the private rooms, too, if you've got a larger group. Final tip, since they're located on the picturesque Silverado Trail, near Napa, you can start or end your north-south itinerary at B&B, and avoid the traffic on Highway 29.

Heather M.

Yelp
It's always a great day at B&B! Yummy wines, beautiful tasting room (with excellent outdoor space), and friendly staff run by the awesome Miss Lori!

Melinda M.

Yelp
Delicious wines, wonderful tasting room staff, and beautiful scenery. Light, fruity, tasty sparkling wine and rose and rich, complex red wines. Wonderful experience!
