popped in for a coffee & a sweet treat, staff were helpful when asking about allergies & what’s best to go for. the vibe was super cute, seating inside & outside. Great for pics & meet ups We didn’t get any sandwiches, but they looked very good! Will be back 🩷

The coffee is predictably good, but you’ll be amazed by the taste of the food as well. The abundance of daylight and excellent service made for a wonderful and chill afternoon in Brighton. Highly recommended!

Visited on my own for coffee and a light breakfast. Staff were so friendly. My food order was forgotten, so they refunded me without being asked which was appreciated. Coffee was great, and the selection of pastries at the counter looked fresh and tempting. Priced well too.

Good sunshine in winter Brighton. Well decorated small coffee-shop, Good location, reasonable price, lovely staff, excellent coffee and sandwich. Highly recommend the reuben sandwich. Next time I go to Brighton absolutely will come again.

The lemon and blueberry loaf was too sweet, felt like it was drenched in some kind of syrup and tasted a bit weird but the coffee and service were great!

Absolutely fabulous. The coffee is amazing. The food delicious. And all of the team here are wonderful. I recommend Bread and Milk as the go to place for coffee in Brighton.

This place was spot on! It’s light, vibrant, lively and so tasty. The array of sandwiches is top notch, especially the pesto, pastrami and mozzarella, chefs kiss, and the pastries. The drinks selection covers all the basics with few creative juices as well. For a bite out in the sun on the cute tables out the front, a quick coffee or bite to eat as you walk the lanes, this is the place I’ll be heading back to. The service was cracking as well, Very friendly and efficient :)

Google
Best coffee shop. Being from Australia, I'm particular with my coffee, and this place absolutely nails it. Breakfast sandwich was great, too. Staff is always lovely and never too long of a wait to be served and to receive your drinks. Even though it's in a busy part of town, I always manage to get a seat, and it gets a lot of lovely sun outside. Don't skip this place.

Yelp
5 stars for a cute, simplistic cafe that does not create overly high expectations and pleasantly surprises you with how quaint the atmosphere is. My guest and I arrived around 7AM on a Monday morning in February, we had just been walking through the streets of North Laine trying to find something open and we saw the sign of this establishment with wide windows and warm invitation. We came in, saw a nice display of breakfast foods and ordered a Halloumi sandwich for less than 5 pounds to split. We also got a cup of tea, which was nice and fresh. Service was quick as we were the only ones inside, the seating - which looked slightly cramped, was clean. The staff had split the sandwich in a perfect half. Each bite was warm, flavorful and played with bright savory notes. Quite a balanced meal that was filling and cheap! Tips/Takeaways: -Would recommend coming out here if you are in Brighton on an early morning looking for breakfast

Yelp
Bread and Milk was the perfect little cafe/coffee shop/lunch spot for a casual Sunday afternoon in Brighton. I stopped in here hoping to grab a cup of coffee and maybe a bite to eat while working a little bit on my laptop. They have free wifi! You just have to ask for the password. This little shop on the street corner has large windows for some natural sunlight and people watching while you're "working" or just enjoying your meal. There are seats outside as well. I ended spending at least an hour here just relaxing, sipping on my coffee, snacking on my sandwich, and working a bit. I definitely give this place five stars for the great space and atmosphere. Personally, if it was just based on the food and coffee I would probably give 4 stars. Overall, I would be back if I needed a good, clean space to work but am still on the hunt for the whole package of amazing coffee and great food (healthy and vegan options are always a plus, but maybe I'm just picky).

Yelp
Came here late afternoon for a focaccia sandwich which we ate outside, however a large seagull swooped in and took mine within a second of my ass leaving the seat. All I wanted to do was take a picture of the aesthetically pleasing simplistic store front. In shock I watched it wolf it down across the road. Thankfully the staff were happy to remake my sandwich free of charge. *there was a discount on the coffee, for bringing your own keepcup, get on itttt

Yelp
This is another minimalistic, nice little coffee shop that has sprung up in the laines. It's cute and compact. I like sitting on the stools facing tidy street, people watching from the window (my favourite past-time. I'm such a nosebag!). This has actually become my new favourite coffee shop in town, So I have edited and given this place an extra star because - what more do you want from a coffee shop? It's got great teas And lovely snacks. The coffee is good, tasty and packs a punch, still not as good as ground (obviously) but up there. You HAVE to try the peppered pastrami sandwich! It's a bit good. Omg it's really good. It's delish! Give this place a whirl for a half hour chill out :)

Yelp
The coffee is good, the staff is nice, the decor is cool and the atmosphere as well. It has a good view so a great place for coffee and people watching! I went there one morning, sat outside but I had to order inside at the counter! While ordering I noticed there were some tote bags on the wall! I have a big thing for tote bags! Became a must-have straightaway, after all I was a tourist in Brighton! I asked the price and the girl was really nice (trying to convince me into buying it - like she needed to). Well, they brought the flat white to my table and was very good indeed! It's nice that despite not having table service, they brought it to the table and didn't make me wait for it! I was there in the morning so I didn't try any food! However they were preparing for lunch and all looked super yummy! So good coffee in a cute place! Also good to sit down, watch the city's life and was sunny that morning, making it perfect for a sun lover! Yes, I bought the tote bag! Well worth it.

Yelp
A cute corner cafe on Trafalgar Street with a big front window, offering lovely natural light and great peoplewatching. Things I saw: - a seagull walking down the middle of the road like an asshole - possibly the same seagull almost getting run over by a car and spooking the driver - a zillion cute dogs wagging their butts - lots of people in happy afternoon moods perusing old vinyls at the shop across the street. So Brighton. The flat white tasted more like a latte but it was still good. All the cafe drinks are £2.50 or so and well made. They have a sandwich/drink lunch deal and a nice display of shining pastries. It seems like a pleasant, quiet place to work or read. No restroom as far as I could tell :(

Yelp
My boyfriend suggested I come here to work on my laptop and he couldn't have been more right! Lovely little place with friendly staff. Had one of the best brownies of my life in warm, homey atmosphere, not to mention the great music they keep playing! There's a big selection of pastries and sandwiches and they all look amazing!!

Yelp
Lovely coffee shop with a great selection of drinks and food. Really friendly staff, great decor and nice atmosphere. Definitely one of the best coffee shops I've been to in Brighton and well worth a visit. I can recommend the hot chocolate!!

Yelp
Avoid the coffee, it's pretty rank. Tastes like burnt gone off milk. But the cake and food is great, it's in a great place. Some staff are friendly, the lady who served us first was very patient and friendly as we chose what we wanted (we were *that* slow indecisive group...) but another lady kept giving us evils later on and tried to take away cups that still had drinks in.

Yelp
Very cute, aesthetic cafe. Bless this place for opening up early. I had the honey and sultana porridge and it was pretty filling and tasty. This place is just A-OK and won't disappoint or exceed your expectations. Not a bad place to sit and have a coffee.

Yelp
How does Bread + Milk only have three reviews? I popped in here for lunch on the weekend, it being the run up to Christmas we were greeted with a small festive menu (and one or two Christmas tunes on the radio!) in addition to the regular selection of wraps, sandwiches, cakes and the like. The Christmas sandwich is fantastic, very large and the right balance of textures and flavours. Soup (kale and quinoa) was also flavoursome, filling and came with a mini-baton of wholegrain french bread. What blew us away was the 'Brighton Fog' tea (which should not just be on the festive menu!). Earl Grey tea with caramel and steamed milk. Absolutely fantastic in all the right ways for a chilly weekend afternoon. As a testament to the cafe, we visited the following day as well and enjoyed a few more Brighton Fogs and some cake, a small selection - but not lacking on quality. I would say that the main downside is the size, in that it can be a little tricky to get a seat (unless you are hardcore and want to make use of the outside seating). Ensure you get down here; you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Pretty hip coffee shop...with good coffee, delicious cakes (Lemon Dizzle par excellence!) and proper sandwiches...like some I've experienced in New York...packed full of goodies. A great spot for people watching on the corner and I love the eye-catching red awning at the front. Good staff who also welcome our little girl with open arms and a babyccino.

Yelp
I always liked this little corner spot on Trafalgar Street - good light, nice amount of space and decent coffee. This morning I went in for a coffee and croissant. The coffee and croissant were fine but for £4.70 I'll be looking for added value in the form of a friendly face elsewhere in future!!
