The service was top notch. Guys who work here are really cool. I got ranch breakfast. Eggs were cooked perfectly. I dont know why they serve beans and salsa to it. And no bread? It was kinda weird. Probably I should get another dish next time

This place is great! WOOH the food is so good and the portions are the best part! I just went here today for the first time and I was beyond impressed! First-The location is right off the street and there is some parking nearby but obviously still a little limited. They have outdoor seating and definitely decent inside seating as well and room for larger parties! The atmosphere is nice and calm and the staff is really friendly and very attentive. They know the menu well and make the experience pleasant. Second-The food was PHENOMENAL! I got the breakfast combo, so I got two eggs/ 2 pancakes and added chocolate chips with a couple strips of bacon and some white toast and coffee. The coffee is really good and they give you big cups as well! The bacon was perfectly cooked how I liked it, the pancakes were so filling and the syrup hit the spot! The eggs perfectly cooked was the best part! Definitely go here and enjoy everything they have to offer!

Google
Best brunch ever !! So glad my bf and I came across this gem , we try to come here anytime we are in town , the staff is amazing.. I have never had a bad experience here , the food is fresh with quality you can taste , the portion of food you get is great and the price you can't beat , I was shocked ! It's very family friendly ... and did I mention they have the BEST eggs Benedict EVER .??!

Google
Best breakfast burrito ever! Thank you Emmanuel for your kind and efficient service. Love the open air atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Google
Got the stuffed French toast (shown below), which was quite tasty. However the prices can be a tad high, and maybe it's because they're right on Wilshire. Also the wait for a table and for the food was a lot, but maybe it's because I went around brunch time (Sunday around noon) and there wasn't as many people staffed. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for this visit.

Google
The omelet I had was delicious and huuuge! They also serve it with pico de gallo and beans s which gives a fresh extra taste.

Fresh food and orange juice, staff is very helpful, always a great meal.

Google
Excellent service! Emmanuel rocks! I have been coming here on and off for 12 years, and the quality and service has never waned. This time I had the French toast combo. It came out fresh and piping hot within 5 to 10 minutes of having ordered it. Kudos to the chef! I would recommend Bread & Porridge to anyone who wants a fabulous breakfast experience. This place is a true gem!

Yelp
Fantastic place for breakfast, brunch or lunch! Vast menu! My friend and shared the Potato Pancake Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict and the new menu item: Chicken Red Curry Rice Bowl! These were both delicious! I took most of the red curry chicken bowl home for later! Patio seating in the back is dog friendly! Inside there is AC, but the noise level gets loud. Every time I come here the staff and food is excellent!!! Street parking and if you are lucky, a few spots in the back( via alley). For those who are familiar with Bru's Wiffle, you will get both menus here, along with the same wonderful staff! $22 endless Mimosas, Wed-Friday!!! I need to check that deal out! Yes!

Yelp
Flapjax is such a solid spot for a comforting, no-fuss breakfast. The pancakes are fluffy and flavorful classic in the best way and the portions are generous without being over the top. They've got a good mix of sweet and savory options, and everything comes out fresh and well-seasoned. The vibe is casual and welcoming, with friendly staff who make you feel like a regular even if it's your first time. Definitely one of those places you keep coming back to when you want something simple and satisfying done right.

Yelp
Overall: very spacious, and yummy food, decent patio Food: 4/5 Flapjax Plate: +eggs were tender and moist -potatoes were a little overdone Banana pancake: +Crème brûlée was a nice touch +peanut butter cuts through some of the sugar +banana chunks were in the pancakes and were super soft Service: 4/5 Food came quickly and they checked on us a few times. I had to wait a bit for my ketchup though. Ambiance: 5/5 Nice patio seating. Not super crowded and claustrophobic like many brunch places.

Yelp
Quick update on my review since Bru's Wiffle has moved in and merged with Flapjax. We were a little nervous of how it would all end up, but we love this setup! Everything is on one menu now. Since my daughter's favorite menu item was from Flapjax (the chicken crepe) and mine was from Bru's (The Salad), now everyone can be happy! I was also nervous that the quality of the salad might suffer since the side salads at Flapjax weren't always the best (sometimes a little wilty with some of the leaves tending toward slime), but I'm happy to report that The Salad is as delightful as ever and the quality of the greens is still outstanding. Hope they stay in business - such a great place with very friendly service. Love their outdoor seating area.

Yelp
We got the breakfast burrito and the pesto pasta with fried chicken. The burrito was huge and good amount of chorizo in it. It was slightly oily than what I would have want and cheese coating was solidified. Overall flavors were great. The pesto pasta has great flavors and the fried chicken was crispy and tender. They also gave you a fried egg. The service was good. Pretty decent spot overall.

Yelp
This food spot is approximately two years old! They have a great mixture of savory breakfast & sweet breakfast. The service was fast & attentive. The ambiance was quiet & not crowded. We came on a Sunday morning around 11am. We were sat down quickly with no reservations Now for the food: Breakfast Burrito 10/10: enjoyed the cheese/ egg wrap instead of a bunch of tortilla! The chorizo was amazing! Chicken Karaage 10/10: absolutely love how they breaded the chicken! It's light & not as thick. Loved the sauces too! The spicy syrup mixed with the spicy ranch was sooo good! Banana Pancakes 10/10: so good! Loved the peanut butter & banana. The smoked sugar on top was amazing Lychee & Coffee drinks: the lychee was a bit too sweet for me but the boba was good! The coffee was not too strong & a bit milky! Great flavor Overall this restaurant was great for breakfast! They also have lunch items too which is great for a nice brunch/lunch type of vibe

Yelp
We came by before leaving for the long trip ahead so we were hoping for something hearty and speedy but unfortunately were disappointed. Our group of 5 were seated relatively quickly (around 5 minutes), given waters, and orders taken down. Unfortunately, they forgot about giving us utensils for a while (around 30+ minutes). We didn't realize we didn't have utensils because we didn't need them yet as we were still waiting for our food to come out. We finally got utensils after asking one of the staff about it to which he quickly helped us. We finally received our food after 45+ minutes of waiting and were excited to finally eat but were disappointed when we realized they gave us a wrong plate. No fret though, they quickly changed it out after we asked if this was the correct order of food. The food was underwhelming. I personally had the berry pancakes which were good (7/10). My friend who had the Flapjax breakfast platter said his eggs were cold. The Potato Pancakes Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon had one fully poached through/boiled egg and one runny egg. The Pancake and Chicken Karaage was not impressive as the karaage was dry and chewy. We also had the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and a Double Smash Cheeseburger, both of which my partner enjoyed. The interior is well decorated and staff were friendly but the wait time and sub-par food left a bad impression. They do also have outdoor seating which I wasn't able to see but overall I would not come back again.

Yelp
I love this place , we have been there multiple times and our fav dish is the cinnamon pancake

Yelp
This diner is DIVINE!!!!! I absolutely fell in love with the chicken crepe. Such a savory breakfast/brunch dish. As were all the dishes we ordered. I really loved how the cinnamon bun pancakes came pre cut, it made it really convenient to eat!! The serves and hostess were amazing. They were very attentive and I made sure they knew we thought they did a great job. It's a cozy place with the cutest decor. We will most definitely because regulars and look forward to trying many more dishes!!

Yelp
Even though I live close by, I somehow missed this Santa Monica diner, and I'm so happy I tried it for my first time this past weekend. It's not the traditional retro diner, think more so a breakfast restaurant with a huge menu filled with all sorts of classic and new dishes. I find the most diners focus on just classic dishes so this is a bit of a hybrid. They have indoor and outdoor seating, the outdoor seating is in front and a covered patio out back. They don't have a dedicated parking lot, but parking is really easy to find in this part of town. We were able to be seated right when we arrived for a 10:30 AM Sunday brunch and our server was extremely polite. As mentioned, they have a huge menu that is filled with all sorts of options so it took all of us quite some time to decide what to get. For my first time I started off with a Cinnamon Roll and thought it was absolutely fantastic. It's large and fluffy and really hit the spot for a great starter. For my entrée, I chose the Flapjax Breakfast Plate and upgraded my pancake to the Maple Glaze. That pancake was extremely delicious with caramelized banana, maple, and bacon on top. It was truly delicious and a great treat. Overall, a fantastic breakfast place that I will certainly be back to soon. They truly have a ton of options so it's a sort of place you could go to frequently and get something new every time.

Yelp
Wow! We have lived down the street for 2 year and have never been in here. We have so many favorites, it's hard to try somewhere new. I am so glad we came. The food was fantastic. I am going to go out on a limb and say this was the best avocado toast I have ever had. Ever! The bread was rustic and fresh. There was a tang from the sauce they put on top (which I believe had jalapeños in it) and the cilantro micro greens were perfect. My only complaint- they need to give you a steak knife. That bread is so full of goodness, a butter knife just won't do. My hubby got the overnight oats and loved them. They have a lot going on in those oats. Full of good texture. The coffee is strong. The servers are all lovely. It's nice and serene inside. Perfect for a cloudy Saturday morning. This place should have a constant line out the door. One can only imagine that the reason they don't is there any few places to park.

Yelp
So so good!! Came in on a Sunday around 11am and did not have to wait. Attentive service and delicious food. The breakfast bowl was good (chicken was alright, but the potatoes made up for it). Glad I tried, but I'll have to come back to try some pancakes. Just fyi the meters on wilshire are 30 minute parking only. We parked in the neighborhood above wilshire and didn't have trouble finding parking on a Saturday morning.

Yelp
Flapjax wasn't too busy when we went on a weekday, and we even found parking easily despite it being on a busy street. They had some good specials on their sandwich board, but surprise! The prices didn't match what we were actually charged. Classic, right? The service was okay. Our waitress disappeared after taking our order, but other staff members were pretty helpful. The cinnamon roll pancakes were delicious, though we had to ask for syrup (who serves pancakes without syrup?). The patatas bravas were a bit of a twist--they were basically French fries. The dish had everything, but it would've been better as a skillet to keep the fries warm. The loco huevos rancheros had a ton of flavor, but the chorizo grease/sauce turned the "crispy" tortilla into mush pretty quickly. The star of the meal was definitely the mushroom toast! Fresh bread, a generous pile of mushrooms, and crispy onions for the perfect texture.

Yelp
This is probably the worst restaurant I've ever went to. Took us 50 minutes to get our food (not an exaggeration). No one came by to check on us. Water tastes funky. Food is overpriced and insanely average tasting. I got chicken karaage. Came with like 5-6 decent pieces of chicken that tasted like mostly fried skin. Large pancakes but I got sick of them so fast. Chicken karaage was also like $21 I believe. We also received the wrong dish and the eggs on another dish were cold. The inside is cute and that's probably the nicest thing about this place. The staff also seem to work hard, but they seat more people than the kitchen can handle it seems. Overall, don't dine here. Biggest waste of time and money.

Yelp
Great spot in Santa Monica ! We wanted brunch food and this place has an extensive menu! The servers are quick to grab your order and the prices are reasonable. The Benedict was great! All the components really were tasty. The pesto tuna sandwich was great! We really enjoyed our meal
google avatar

Nancy B.

Yelp
This place is pricey but portions are large! Great breakfast spot. Food isn't fancy or anything. Just your usual eggs and pancakes. I ordered the plated which came with eggs, potato's, pancakes and sausage. All were good. The pancakes are HUGE so don't over order. We also got the banana pancakes (we over ordered) and I would skip the chocolate and peanut butter sauce they put on top. It made it too rich and I barely was able to eat any. Staff was friendly and service is fast Meter parking nearby
google avatar

Jennifer V.

Yelp
I would definitely come back here for the pancakes and their smoothies! Their pancakes are to die for and because they were so good, I didn't have a chance to take a pic! Friends already started eating! Sharing what hubby ate, which he really enjoyed. The tropical smoothie is also so so good. Tastes like you're on the beach somewhere in Ecuador. :D Place was packed, but servers were very attentive.

Yelp
This place is really cute and has delicious French toast and overnight oats. Each table has nicely potted plants. The restaurant and bathroom were both super clean. They also sell some bars of soap and cutesy stuff. The service was excellent. Quick, kind, and attentive. My boyfriend and I had the chicken karaage, overnight oats, avocado toast, and crunchy French toast. Although the avocado toast (1 slice) was over priced (my opinion) everything was so tasty! I hope to go back again

Yelp
Loove this breakfast place. Other then being closed Monday and Tuesdays.. it's the place to be. Friendly familiar faces greet me at the door. Opens at 0800. U sit wherever u want. It's such a cute place . With bright neutral colored decor. The food tho. I ordered a spicy cheese toast. Fresh and a bit tangy with a little crunch when u bite into the bread. Then I ordered the and meatballs. Doesn't disappoint .. flavorful.. good portion. With 3 big meatballs . These are also the same owners of brus wiffle. Across the street from then. Def recommend. Good for groups of friends, family or by yourself.

Yelp
This place has a giant menu and everything sounds good. We split the breakfast burrito and the cinnamon bun pancakes- yum!! So good, friendly service and large patio out back.

Yelp
Wonderful little find for breakfast / brunch in Santa Monica. We were looking for a new place to try before hitting Laemmle for a matinee; we were not disappointed! Great service and delicious food, wide variety of food to choose from - Mine was the cheesy bagel breakfast, and all three of us loved our selections, along with a yummy chocolate chip pancake we all shared.

Mike O.

Yelp
What a cool place, right in the middle of a city, excellent service, everybody is so hard-working, the menu is on ending so just ask for Help, everything is good.
google avatar

Rowan W.

Yelp
I love Flapjax! There's an all-but-unspoken agreement here given how big their pancakes are - there's a good chance you won't be able to eat them all on one sitting. Still, it's fun to try. I highly recommend the chocolate chip pancakes or the cinnamon bun pancakes. Both clear winners! Their other offerings are just as enduring, including all sorts of lunch options. I've recently been fond of their olive tapenade panini, it's the perfect combination of salty and savory for me. Their sister site is Bru's Wiffle, so if you ever find yourself unable to get seated at one, try the other! The menus aren't the same but there is some similarity in food prep. Either way, you have to try these pancakes.

Lily S.

Yelp
Slow service, sub par food. The back patio is nice but that's about it. Ordered breakfast sliders and the bun was cold and stale, the bacon was cold and not fresh. The latte was mostly sugar and milk and I even ordered an extra shot of espresso.
google avatar

Ron A.

Yelp
Everything we had was very delicious food had plenty of flavor from the waffles to the omelettes also the chai latte with oat milk was one of the best! We will be back next time to Southern Cali!
google avatar

Yelp
Unfortunately I picked the wrong time to come here (11:30a on a Friday) because there was a big birthday party in the other room and it was SO LOUD. They were literally SCREAMING. I had brought my laptop to do some work and eat some brunch but it was very hard to concentrate above the noise of that, the overhead music, and something in the open kitchen that sounded like a coffee bean grinder? Orange juicer? The servers ended up being very good and attentive, but clearly they were distracted by the hullabaloo in the other room and it took them a while to get to me in the beginning. The food deserves 4.5 stars. I ordered a smoked salmon bagel which comes with sliced tomato, cucumber, dill, capers, and herbed cream cheese and that was really good, nice with a slide salad of mixed greens. I also ordered a side of scrambled eggs which were cooked very nicely. They kept the iced tea refills coming too. I'm sad that the atmosphere was so insufferable today but the food was so good and otherwise the decor is cute and the seats comfortable, so I'll come back sometime and give it another try.

Yelp
After seeing this place countless times on the drive down Wilshire, we finally decided to stop in for brunch. It was fairly busy on a Saturday morning but we were seated right away. The service was a bit slow - no one really came by to check on us once our orders arrived. We weren't asked about drink refills until we paid the bill, which is a little late. But the food was very tasty. I had the menemen and my husband ordered the mushroom crepes with eggs. The flavors were 5 stars. I liked the little bread pieces that came with mine to help soak up the juice. Each plate was about $18, which is steep but fairly typical for the area. Coffees were $5 each, which is high considering the lack of refills. But overall it was a great experience and we'd certainly come back. There are many other items on the menu I'd like to try.
google avatar

Dave A.

Yelp
Flapjax is a delightful place with delicious breakfast and a great outdoor sitting area in the back. The food is delicious and I highly recommend the Shiitake mushroom omelette and Brioche French toast. The servings are generous and the prices are very reasonable.
google avatar

Sarah I.

Yelp
It's okay. We got the brioche crunchy French toast and the crust was super burnt, so we only enjoyed the middle. The smoked salmon eggs Benedict was so so. The salmon was very fishy and just didn't look fresh, so I didn't eat any of it. The potatoes are very good and they got both eggs perfect, which is hard to do. Service is very very slow. I played an entire game of League without anything coming. I probably won't be back.
google avatar

Kenneth C.

Yelp
The was breakfast food here was good but could use a bit more taste to them. Service was quick within 20 minutes everyone got their breakfast. The smash burger wasn't smashed and it just tasted a bit bland but other than that it was fine. The interior of the restaurant looked nice and it looked like a modern diner that would be in LA.
google avatar

Charles V.

Yelp
My wife and I had a wonderful experience at this quaint establishment. We were there for breakfast, and specifically for the Gluten Free pancakes for my wife. She said they were excellent! I had the Flapjax Breakfast Plate and found it to be tasty with generous portions! The staff was very friendly as well. And they were very accommodating to customizing our orders. Afterwards, we learned about their back patio which looked like a great option. Maybe next time.
google avatar

Allan B.

Yelp
The service was outstanding awesome. The food was amazingly delicious. Their special shakes are to die for.

T S.

Yelp
Service was terrible. 50 minutes to get brunch! Tables who ordered after us were served first!! Explanation: we wanted to serve your food fresh!!
google avatar

Ashley Z.

Yelp
My friend and I had a lovely brunch here! Sit in the back patio area if you can - it's very peaceful and nicely shaded. Based on reviews, we split the patatas bravas and the cinnamon bun pancakes and they were both amazing. Patatas bravas comes with a warning that it is very spicy, which I was worried about initially, but it wasn't really spicy at all. I will say - it's not really a Spanish tapas patatas bravas, more like a breakfast hash, but delicious nonetheless! Pancakes were bomb. We also got the seasonal fruit platter, which was a little pricey for what it was, but good variety. Wish there were more blueberries. Iced coffee was good! Could've come with more almond milk on the side. We did have to remind the waiter to bring water/coffee after our food had come out, but that's okay!

Janet L.

Yelp
Food was amazing very tasteful we also had chocolate chip pancakes and my kids enjoyed them very much. We came here in between nearby soccer games and I had my toddler with me and they saw me struggling since he was hungry they offered me a biscuit and some juice while I waited for food. I really appreciate that. You guys are amazing .
google avatar

Lana R.

Yelp
I've been here twice now and while my company was great, the food & coffee was just terrible. They use chai latte powder that's a big pile of sugar and not an authentic chai tea latte that everyone else in LA seems to know how to make just fine. I tried going for a regular latte instead... abysmal. Burnt. Undrinkable. If you lose me at coffee, you're already in trouble. The pancakes are ok but the French toast was burnt. It pains me to leave negative reviews but this place needs improvements. Hopefully, the owner will see this and really listen.
google avatar

Yelp
Fell in love with this little cute restaurant in Santa Monica. It gives you family vibes and I love the energy of the staff. While I will say the service was slow, you could see that the staff were very friendly and accommodating. As for the food, definitely worth the wait. I hands down would recommend the patatas bravas. I ate it 2 days in a row and forced my partner to come back on the last day in the city. The patatas bravas was flavorful, spicy, crunchy, seasoned very well, and just mouth watering. I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Mallory C.

Yelp
This is another place I've passed by a lot and finally decided to stop in and get brunch. Several servers checked in with me even before I ordered. The interior has upscale diner vibes. I got the iced passion fruit latte, which was super interesting -- in a good way! I've never had a passion fruit latte and now I can say I like it. As for food, I got the patatas bravas and I got the sauce on the side because the server gave me the heads-up that the sauces are on the spicy side. And I'm glad I did, because they were a bit spicy. For dessert, I got the housemade cinnamon roll, because my server recommended it and it was so good! Definitely a great recommendation.
google avatar

Shawn S.

Yelp
In the endless search of family friendly brunch spot we have found a gem. Decided to come with kids and in laws for a 10am brunch and all around great vibes and better food. Coffee was excellent according to my IL but my matcha strawberry I thought was pretty sweet but still good matcha flavor. The food is made to order pretty sure since it took a little longer than expected but it was pretty tasty I just say. The shiitake omlette was exceptional and potatoes on the side was crispy and seasoned properly. The French toast was perfection and like a dessert. Got the plain pancakes and that was average but I'm sure the varieties have more pizzaz. Great service too because my kids were hangry and being very annoying. Great brunch atmosphere and food.
google avatar

Teresa A.

Yelp
The food was delicious, large portions. I knocked off two stars : 1st because their $20 pancakes aren't served with real maple syrup! 2nd dinning inside the acoustics is terrible, in addition to the loud music!
google avatar

Jenna N.

Yelp
Came in hoping we were going to find a new breakfast spot gem, leaving disappointed! No wait on a sunday morning ~11 am. lots of seating, but maybe not enough servers. It took almost 45 minutes to get our food. Service is not great. The food was pretty mid, although presentation was nice. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
google avatar

Anna Z.

Yelp
Surprisingly there was no line on a Sunday morning during brunch! The food took quite a while to be made, but when it came out we understood why. The cinnamon bun pancakes!!! I still think about them a week later. Literally the most perfect pancakes I've had in my life. My boyfriend ordered the classic dish which came with a side of either English muffins or pancakes - we have no regrets with the pancake, although we were too full to touch it until later that night. They clearly mastered the art of pancakes !!! Generous portions, gorgeous ambiance, we'd definitely come back.
google avatar

Rubi G.

Yelp
If this review was on the shiitake omelet and fries alone, it would be 5/5! But alas, the curry chicken sandwich was not good, which was a bummer since my friend and I LOVE anything curry flavored. I'd be back to try their other breakfast dishes and for the shiitake omelet.
google avatar

Aub H.

Yelp
The people are so kind and attentive! Was surprised to learn this is a sistering restaurant to Brews. The food was insanely good, have to recommend the smash burger and the maple glazed pancakes such a chill environment, the music is quiet but pleasant and the outside patio in the back is great for some fresh air! Love love love
google avatar

Jesenia H.

Yelp
Amazing food great customer service. I had the breakfast bowl which was delicious! Really cute location feels very welcoming.
google avatar

Steph H.

Yelp
One of my favorite breakfast places in the area. Staff is always extremely nice and helpful. Pancakes are a must (obviously as it's their namesake). Favorites are the traditional and the cinnamon roll varieties. BUT my favorite item here, and my husband's is their breakfast burrito. Could possibly be one of my fav burritos period. Just perfectly executed and always consistent. Definitely a share item as it's massive. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Richard L.

Yelp
I had the Lox Benedict today and I thought it was sensational. I met a few friends and I tried this place for the first time. The coffee is good quality and definitely the prices are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. I had their homemade hot sauce with my breakfast, and it definitely has a serious kick but I liked it. I would definitely give this place a try. This was a Thursday morning that we tried it and it wasn't that busy and easy to get a table.

DD M.

Yelp
Great place for brunch or solo breakfast. During the week, it's a great place have a slow solo breakfast while reading the paper. Weekends are crowded. Food is very good- a modern take to most breakfast classics.

Ana V.

Yelp
Honestly, delicious. Potatoes were perfectly seasoned, service was attentive but not annoying, coffee delicious and hot. Cute little restaurant. Will definitely come back.
