Unique ice cream location with a variety of other sweet treats. Ice cream portions are a good value and very flavorful as well as their Nutella and other topping filled cones.

Great drinks and snacks, friendly and fast service, and it's nice having the kiosk screen option so you can see all the options, especially if you're with kids who want to hear every single flavor! Creme brulee boba drink is a particular favorite. Only wish there were some smaller/cheaper options to get this more often, cause it's a delicious treat

I paid $44.32 at 8pm on 1/26/2026 for 5 tayakis and I received 4, all to go, you get 1/2 the ice cream you normally get to go instead of when you eat there. I have no receipt, and I can’t get back before they close. I expected more hopefully when the owner reads this, you will fix the mistake by looking up the amount for the date/ time. Nice people I just don’t like spending that amount of money and not getting what I paid for.

Excellent strawberry refresher! Also super nice staff, can't wait to come back and try the ice cream in the fish pastry.

We loved trying the flavors cookie monster and Ube. My favorite part was the nutella inside the fish. I will definitely have to go and try a different combination next time. So fun!

Tried this place out because it’s a lot closer than Somi Somi in Ontario Mills. Their taiyaki menu is nice however the actual taiyaki is smaller than Somi Somi. Also, there isn’t as much filling per batter ratio as Somi Somi, but tastes good. Somi Somi is 5 larger taiyaki for $8.95 while this place is 5 smaller ones for $10.95. The cookies and cream soft serve is good. Costs $4.99 for a cup. The girl helping us was amazing and gave us a good serving. She was kind and made small talk while preparing our order. All in all, I would return here if in the area. But if I had to choose between these smaller ones for a higher price vs. Somi Somi, I would opt for Somi Somi.

1 Star - Nutella Hoard, Boba Nightmare Walked into what looked like a Nutella doomsday bunker—1,000 jars on display for reasons unknown. Service was miserable, and the boba was absolutely vile. Wrong texture, mysterious flavor, complete waste of money. Those Nutella jars should’ve been my warning. Never again.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

We ordered the vanilla soft serve and the Taiyaki with a cookies and cream filling. I lover the mochi consistency and flavor of the Taiyaki. It was cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful. If you are comparing it to Somi Somi these were a little bit smaller but the standard order is 2 Taiyaki for about $5. I think it was definitely worth it and even easier to share over a cup of soft serve. The soft serve itself was also very good. The vanilla is more like a vanilla bean :) it’s somehow both creamy and icy soft serve at the same time. Inside is super cute and clean. Even with a line to the door we received our order very quickly. I will definitely be back! Glad there’s is a place to get Taiyaki close to home now!

YUMMY AND DELICIOUS wish they gave more chocolate sometimes, but probably for the best they don't since it could be a health hazard, LOL, I'm such a sucker for chocolate fhekfhskbs I love this place, I go every chance I get. Taiyaki here is a delicacy, they prepare it in front of you, and are pretty quick! Also, yummy taro ice cream. It's so cute inside and aesthetic!

Taro is pretty good Portion size is good as well. I think it is 5.45 plus taxes, so not bad in today's world.

So glad they have non-dairy ice cream! The matcha ice cream was so good, not too sweet either. The taro was a tat too sweet but overall they're pretty good. Hubby got the snow island which was delicious. The Taiyaki was super chewy and tasty The place is very nice and clean, the young lady that helped us was super nice. We are super happy

Cute location! My friend got boba and it was good but I got the matcha taiyaki ice cream and it was just okay. Not sure if I'll come back, but if I do I'll just get boba.

Worst experience I've ever had at a boba place! They were sooo unhelpful and were not friendly at all... both the drinks I got had ZERO flavor and tasted disgusting I threw mine out! My sister got a crème brûlée boba and it was only milk! Never coming back to this place and I highly recommend you don't either save your $8 and go else where!

Came on a Saturday evening. Wasn't busy at all. They offer the kiosk or the register to order. The kiosk different offer everything on the menu. So ordered at the register. The staff was rude didn't really care. First time here and I wanted to know what the best selling ice cream was but they answered with one word. But overall the place is clean. So many items to choose from. The serving size is was too much for a child, so just be mindful. We weren't able to finish one serving size. Also the chocolate ice cream was already melting by the time we got it. Which was weird. But the strawberry and horchata swirl was really good. Chocolate was decent just didn't like how it was melting. Would definitely come back.

Good service and portion. Reasonable prices. The soft serve could have been creamier, but the waffle was great. Good location with lots of parking.

Break the Ice is a local dessert place in Riverside county with a Korean flair. We stopped by for dessert after a big lunch to satisfy our craving for boba. Their signature item is the taiyaki ice cream reminiscent of Somi Somi. We ordered the horchata/strawberry milk and taro/matcha taiyaki ice cream. The consistency of the ice cream was not creamy or rich but more icy, and so it wasn't as good as it appears. Super aesthetic though! In terms of cleanliness, customer service, and atmosphere, it is a nice quiet shop with ice cream or boba options. However, I didn't think the quality of the ice cream was better than Somi Somi or specialty ice cream places.

Needed a late night treat, came here, and the place was jumping. Ordered at the kiosk and waited for my order. Everything was very efficient and tasted lovely. Great way to spend a summer evening and plenty of outdoor seating. Plus, there are many eateries, in this area, with lots of options.

Came here for a sweet treat after having a hard day. Instant pick-me-up! The employee was energetic, enthusiastic, and kind! He helped us right away, and even offered a recommendation. He was also very quick/efficient, as he had both of our drinks and taiyaki ice creams out in under five minutes! We tried to tip but there wasn't an option in the tablet, so we went to the ATM at Ralph's to get cash for a tip haha Everything was delicious! The strawberry milk tea and Thai tea were flavorful, yet not overly sweet- just right. The Vietnamese coffee ice cream was strongly caffeinated, which I appreciated the energy boost! And the Taro ice cream was very refreshing in the hot weather! The taiyakis even came with Pocky/Pepero sticks and some mochi :) With the taiyaki cart decor and the many Nutella jars on display, the cafe is cute and cozy! It really is as their cups say: "the best bubble tea in town"

Came across this cute dessert shop visiting daughter at school. Owner is nice and shop is very clean. Drinks are good but a bit too sweet for my tooth. Taiyaki were good as well. Must visit place if you're in the neighborhood and there's an outdoor courtyard area which is calming and peaceful with a water fountain in the center.

Big servings of ice cream and their taiyaki is so good. Lots of Asian flavors. Quick service and it gives sitting at a froyo place vibe.

My friend and I ordered delivery. I was a little hesitant to order delivery for soft serve ice cream, but they packaged it really well and we got lucky with a fast delivery driver. I would love to try this place in person to sample the other flavors. Overall, it was really yummy. The prices are reasonable considering it's a novelty item. I'm glad that we have one of these shops next to campus :)

We were the last customers before they closed and didn't really think about how quickly our order was given to us until we left and the tayaki was hard and cold. My husband attempted to go back and through the window explain that something was wrong with our order but the girl working just started mopping and said they're closed and this was not even five minutes after closing. It is unfortunate we really enjoyed coming here but it will definitely be the last time.

We love their taiyaki -- it's so delicious! The iced drinks are usually too sweet, so be sure to ask for less sugar if you prefer a milder taste.

I was so excited to have w taiyaki place in the area. The custard filled taiyaki was delicious, however, the soft serve did not meet my expectations. It tasted icy rather than creamy. Service was quick. My order was ready as soon as I finished ordering.

Break the ice is a great place for taiyaki and taiyaki ice cream but not so much of the boba. The prices are a little more on the expensive side, but it is very cute inside. The lady serving us was also so sweet and helped out a lot.

The matcha ice cream was the best! Employees are so helpful and attentive. Will definitely be coming back here soon with family!

I walked in today and first off so nice inside and outside seating. Got my drink super fast I got the taro milk tea AMAZING! I have to go back and try the other flavors love this place!

Me and my daughter got an ube and matcha swirl and got Nutella in our taiyaki and my bf got an horchata strawberry swill with Nutella also inside his fish pastry. The consistency is like a soft serve ice cream and has great flavor, the fish pastry is fluffy but has a nice crisp on the outside.

When food is fun it brings smiles! Seeing these waffle fish heads chomping down some froyo just makes you want one. There's an array of flavors to choose from along with fillings. Great service as he explained the process of ordering. Loved the choice we made. So refreshing with some texture, light toasted waffle, soft yogurt, red bean paste, chewy and sticky mochi. Such a fun concept and so appealing as we eat with our eyes first.. then the camera... then us lol

This place is located in a spacious plaza and there are also plenty of space and area not only for your car, but for yourself! There are bar seating, and regular tables and chairs inside as well as just outside of it. We came in on a weeknight to try the strawberry milk tea. They make the drink really quick! We placed the order, paid, and it took a couple minutes before they called out for us to pick it up. The drink itself is very pink and very sweet!! I think next time I would have to adjust the sweet level here. Otherwise the place is neat, customer service is good, and I would try the other drinks/snacks on the menu.

First time going, I ordered a cookie monster and vanilla with taiyaki filled with nutella. The vanilla had no flavor, but the cookie monster was delicious but the amount of ice cream is very generous. The lady at the counter was very quiet and rarely talked, didn't greet anyone that entered. My favorite thing of it all had to be the Taiyaki filled with nutella! Will definitely only go back for the Taiyaki Food 8/10 Service 2/10 Ambiance 6/10

Excellent location in the canyon crest town center. Great patio to sit out on. If you like Kraak Boba, this is just the same but better location. Clean environment. Fast service and friendly service.

Can't say no to this super yummy and cute filled fish shape taiyaki. Pick the filling and ice cream, voila you will have an awesome sweet treat and always want to go back there. We usually go to somi somi in San diego but this place offer similar great taste!!!!

The drink was lacking sweetness and honestly tasted like milk. The worker was sweet and let me add more sweetness but the overall drink just didn't taste good :(

Why have I not tried this place before??? An absolute must try. The good: The young ladies at the counter were super friendly and helpful. The Ube & Cookie Monster ice cream are my fave but they're all perfect in flavor. The fish waffle is lovely warm with the perfect amount of filling. Pro-tip: if you're taking one home for later, leave it out to cool or if will fold due to the steam The bad: a little messy to eat but if you use a spoon, you'll be fine so no driving and eating this yummy treat. The filled fishies could use some filling throughout instead of just in the middle. The ugly: only thing I have to say is - this can be a new addiction

It seems to be a popular place as there was a long line when we got here on a Friday night. The workers were helpful and let us try out some of the soft serve flavors as it was our first time. The flavors were good but not the best. The vanilla reminded me of the soft serve you get at buffets. They do offer unique soft serve flavors so there are many more that you may enjoy. I decided on the Matcha. It was the best flavor for me. Subtle and not too sweet. The Taiyaki was crunchy and soft. I really enjoyed it! I would return and just get a couple of Taiyaki's with Nutella filling. They have a restroom and minimalist decor. They have a cute stand that's somewhat of a photo op. I'll share a picture of it.

first time here and i can say for sure it will be my last. very disappointed. we got four taiyaki with ice cream. the ice cream flavors were good but i agree with other reviews in the "icey" description. it was melty really fast and mine was not really like "soft serve" so it has to be eaten quickly. my favorite flavors were matcha and horchata. however, my taiyaki had threads/fuzzies around the edges like from a cloth...i had to remove it all before eating. it also tasted raw in the inside (not sure if this is normal as it was my first time having taiyaki). the filling on mine was also lacking compared to the other three. i also ordered a crème brûlée milk tea with boba. it tasted like just milk with sugar ?? it was white even after mixing. i also didn't taste or see the "cheese foam" (any other places i've ordered at you can clearly see it and it leaves residue on the cup even when mixed). i didn't really like it and i approached the cashier for help asking if it had the foam it said on the menu (concern and dissatisfaction was clearly in my face) and in return she just said "yes" as i pointed and tried to find it...they just went back to doing what they were doing leaving me standing. not one follow up question or even asking if everything was alright. this was very off putting. that wasn't giving good customer service in my opinion. $7.50 wasted. i wish i would've asked for a refund. ambiance was fine. it was quiet and they had a lot of seating inside and out. some tables were dirty but you can order for take out.

Have had taiyaki hot and filled with cheese and also filled with ice cream and custard. Ice cream flavors are fun, very California. You can get classics like matcha and ube, and also horchata. Everything I've had here is tasty, shop is clean, and help is fast and friendly. Don't like to talk to humans? They've got a kiosk where you can order and pay. Seeking on the patio is nice, weather permitting.

Super cute place for boba, drinks and dessert! Employees are great, and service is quick and friendly. There's ample seating inside as well as out. Got 5 taiyaki to try/share and a Hokkaido milk tea with boba. I tried the custard filled and a sausage & mozzarella; both were good but the dough tasted a a little gummy and possibly could be cooked a little longer. Otherwise, I recommend coming here and trying them out! I will be back to get the filled taiyaki ice cream!

Glad they have this taiyaki soft serve over in the Canyon Crest plaza! It's a cute little shop, definitely worth a visit. Stopped by for dessert after dinner and it was just what we were looking for. They sell different kinds of soft serve ice cream with the option to swirl adjacent flavors. I've only been once but it seems like they rotate the different flavors around for different combinations. You can also add a filling to the taiyaki They also serve milk tea in addition to the soft serve. Their service is pretty friendly and bring things out fairly quickly. Solid option for sure

5 stars for food but customer service sucks. This used to be my to go to place for dessert but lately it seems like their customer service has been slowly going downhill. Our last visit, the two workers (not sure if they're new as we've never seen them before) were just standing at the register while one was busy texting. We ordered through the kiosk and were already waiting for our order when a family came in. They took their order and started making it while completely ignoring ours. They started talking to the family about how they get no hours and just generally complaining. Finally we got our food but they ended up giving us taiyaki that had already been sitting there so it was cold. Overall such a sad experience when this place is not that cheap.

Yay for soft serve I ordered the horchata ube swirl, and my parents got the cookie monster milk tea swirl. I really enjoyed mine: it was the perfect amount of sweet and very light. My ice cream was smooth, but my parent's had some ice flakes in it. Both flavor swirls were great though. I also got 2 taiyaki: red bean and ube. I still prefer somi somi's or snowy village's croissant taiyaki. They weren't very flavorful and a bit doughy. I do appreciate the extensive menu (vs. somi somi having a limited menu). Try this place! :D

I love gettin taiyaki especially when it is very crispy and this place does it crispy! The batter was really nice and I like that they take the time to cut the excess batter to make it look perfect. I appreciate the time taken into that. I also like the interior because it looks really clean and aesthetic. The little cart decor is also super cute! My friends got the taiyaki with ice cream and they LOVED IT. They got Ube and matcha and they ate it up!!! I ordered the 2 taiyaki with cheese and red bean filling. They both tasted great. I ate the cheese one there and saved the red bean for later. It tastes good even a day after in the air fryer!

I love the hot Nutella combined with the hot bread :) service is always good and fast. The please is pretty clean and always playing good music. I come here like once a week. Would recommend the chocolate ice cream is one of my favs.

Really cute shop, their drinks and cups and dessert are super cute!! It's located in an extremely nice plaza with tons of food places. We ordered a taro storm, the only thing I'm disappointed with was the strawberry boba, they're actually popping boba and not regular boba, would be nice if they update their menu's name becos that's very misleading. I love boba just not a fan of popping boba :) anyhow I will come back again and try their other stuff they have

Brought the kids here for a special treat. They loved it! They had Blue raspberry with fudge waffle taiyaki. I ended up getting the creme brûlée ice cream with fudge waffle taiyaki. It was so good. Vanilla ice cream with creme brûlée around the edges, definitely a decadent treat. Very kind and helpful customer service. The kids tasted a couple flavors before choosing Blue Raspberry. They didn't do samples of the creme brûlée because it's made to order but she said it was very popular so I went with that. My son said this is his new favorite spot. We will definitely be back.

Service was great. The restaurant was very clean. My ice cream was not like the portion size advertised at all. Not even one little swirl. I will say it was very tasty but not worth the price.

I came here after getting ramen with a couple of friends in downtown Riverside and they were about 20 minutes from closing. The service isn't slow, but it's not fast either, however staff is amicable and engaged. You can ask for ice cream samples, and they have an ample selection of drinks, taiyaki fillings and ice cream flavors. The ambiance was fast and casual, and they had a cute stand selling merchandise in a corner of the store. I ordered two classic taiyaki with taro and custard filling, and my friends got classic taiyaki and vanilla ice cream taiyaki with matcha custard. The best one is by far the classic taiyaki with matcha custard. All of the other filling flavors that we had tried were overly sweet and had too much artificial flavoring, especially the original custard filling. Please do not get taro filling in your taiyaki here, it is the worst thing I've put in my mouth this month. It's more lavender and rose flavored than taro flavored. The ice cream flavors also all tasted quite plain to me, like pure sugar with a side of nothing. It lacked a lot of flavor depth; it wasn't creamy at all and tasted one dimensional. I won't be satisfying my sweet tooth at Break the Ice, but it was worth a shot to try and I was mildly disappointed. I don't even really like SomiSomi, but it's leaps and bounds better than here.

i get boba from here all the time; its really fresh and a bit light in flavor but i love it. they will sometimes be busier on the weekends but either way, they are fast when it comes to making the drinks. while you wait, they play pretty good music & there are seats available.

Stumbled upon here after having sushi at Vanilla Fish and so glad we came here for some dessert. We got the matcha/earl grey swirl and tiger milk tea/cookies and cream swirl which were both so delish. There was also a live solo cover performance happening outside so we enjoyed the soft serve while listening to Adele songs.

Finally some little taste of home (LA) in Riverside! Went BEFORE dinner cause I was craving some ice cream. The ice cream could be creamier and less icy but the real star of the show was the taiyaki. So perfectly crispy and chewy. I wish I could just order the Taiyaki and not the ice cream. They do have regular filled Taiyaki for purchase (5 for $10) but in my opinion, the Taiyaki cone hits so much better! Will come back for sure
