We had no issues during our stay, which itself is a very good sign. The location is perfect—one of the best spots to enjoy the sunrise. It’s just a 5-minute drive to most attractions and good restaurants, and a few bars are within walking distance. Right across the street, there are stores where you can easily find basic necessities in case you forget to pack something. The rides were great, and the water was warm even in winter. The indoor pool and lazy river were just perfect for kids. Overall, it was a comfortable stay, and we really enjoyed both the amenities and the location.

Breakers Resort...Truly A Thanksgiving to Remember! 🌟 We stayed at Breakers Resort in Myrtle Beach for five days over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, and it was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. We had originally booked a different type of accommodation, but they worked diligently to upgrade us to a more suitable room. Their dedication and hospitality set the tone for the entire stay. The room itself was spacious, beautifully maintained, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. I especially loved the street view, while my son had the time of his life enjoying the beach, water amenities, hot tub, and the water park. The resort truly offers something for everyone, blending relaxation with fun-filled activities. Another highlight was the sense of community and accessibility. Everything we needed was within reach, from the beach to nearby facilities. The food was excellent, and the variety of restaurants made dining both convenient and enjoyable. Whether we wanted a casual bite or something more refined, Breakers had us covered. This resort exceeded our expectations in every way, the hospitality, comfort, amenities, and convenience. Some of the staff we'd love to mention: Blair at front desk, Jamaican Mx Man, and the handsome Caucasian bell hop were super professional, friendly, and went above and beyond. Notwithstanding, we left this resort with wonderful memories and are already looking forward to returning in the near future. Breakers Resort is the perfect destination for families seeking both relaxation and adventure!

My Husband and I stayed at the Breakers Resort “Paradise Tower” 2104 North Ocean Blvd. And we must say the Atmosphere was relaxing. Coming this time of year is not as crowded which made it even more special. The room was remodeled as they stayed and was clean with the exception to a few stains from prior use but after covering with a sheet I was okay. We booked a 4 night stay at a great rate. We will definitely come here again.

We live fairly close and decided to bounce around the different resorts during the off season and enjoy the beach. We have been to dozen different resorts and so far Breakers has been our favorite. Unlike most of the resorts, it was staffed nicely by very friendly people. Our son and his friend enjoyed the water features that where all maintained and open . The prices are very reasonable when you company them to other well maintained facilities. They don't have a breakfast however they gave us vouchers for Papa's right across the street which had a spread that rivals any breakfast buffet in the area. The beach is wide here and level.

Breakers is geographically located in a nice commercial neighborhood. Resort offers great convenience & comfort. Rooms are clean, quiet & comfortable. Covered Parking lot, indoor gym & heated pools provide convenience. Touchless key wrist bands are effective & comfortable to use. They need to step up their room service / housekeeping team in order to wow the clients and to survive in this competitive market.

Staff is excellent and very welcoming!!, room is very clean as well as hallways, elevators. Papa’s restaurant food was fresh and delicious. Staff there were amazing and also welcoming . My overall staff at the breakers was top notch and definitely recommending to friends and family . I will never stay at a different location. This will be my go to yearly . Thank you Breakers for having the best staff

We visited a few days before Christmas with the weather in the mid-50s. The slides are great and the lazy river was warm enough, even though it goes outside. But the indoor pool was uncomfortably cold. No one was in it during the three days we were there. My 10 year old doesn't mind cool water, but he wouldn't get in. The water in the outdoor pools was a little warmer so we went in there for a bit. Heating outdoor pools when the inside pool is cold doesn't make sense. Our room was recently renovated and the view was incredible. The staff was friendly and everything was clean.

Great location, family friendly hotel. Rooms are clean and kitchenette always a plus. Beautiful oceanfront spot. Nice to have bigger balcony but overall no complaints. 3 things: 1. Seek out Tish, hotel/front desk manager, and Michael ( bell hop) they are amazing and will do whatever it takes to ensure u have an awesome vacation. 2. Breakfast at Pappas (a must) and if u don’t have little ones with u I recommend 3001 night club at (you can do country line dancing, or Latin salsa or R&B - 3 different clubs in one. 3. 5in walk from Breakers are 2 amazing restaurants - SoHo and Oyster Bar. Both have amazing menus and all the fresh food is delicious .

Yelp
We have been staying here for 17 years, and it's always been a pleasant stay. They seem to be short staffed now, but that may be a seasonal issue. I will continue to stay here, because it is very close to great attractions and restaurants.

Yelp
My husband and I went on our honeymoon. They had terrible customer service and the "front ocean View" was literally a side view. The pools were slap full of people and one of the elevators stayed broken for a whole day. The woman never cleaned our room for the whole stay and didn't give us any towels. We had to grab some from one of the many random carts that were full of clean towels just hanging out in the hallway. Other than that it was a fun trip. It's right there on the beach, that was really nice.

Yelp
July 4th Weekend, 2025 This is long, but please read if you're considering Breakers Resort Myrtle Beach for a holiday--especially one advertised as a "party" event. My family (6 people) stayed at SpringHill Suites over the July 4th holiday week. SpringHill is directly connected to Breakers and another neighboring hotel through shared patios, seating areas, pools, slides, and event spaces. Breakers advertised a Fourth of July event intended for guests of all three hotels. The event included: * A cookout (vouchers for burgers, hot dogs, BBQ) * A parade * A glow party * A DJ from 12-4 p.m. and 6-10 p.m. The food and shared amenities were great. The DJ was the problem. We returned around 4:30 p.m. on the 4th to enjoy the pools & lazy river and eventually the cookout vouchers around 7:30pm. When we sat down to eat, it became clear the music was completely wrong for the event. Ice Box Productions DJ Services played almost exclusively slow, outdated tracks--50s-70s tracks, shag-dancing style music. There was no variation in era, genre, or energy, despite a crowd that included young children, teens, adults, and seniors. * No line dances * No consistent upbeat songs * No party atmosphere People were visibly bored. Families moved away from the Breakers area to play their own music near SpringHill or left for the beach altogether. My sister made two polite song requests to help liven things up. * When she requested "American Kids" by Kenny Chesney, the DJ played it--and the crowd immediately responded by singing along. * He then returned to the same slow music. * When she later requested "Chicken Fried" by Zac Brown Band, the DJ refused, stating he would only play songs with the word "America" in the title or lyrics. While I understand a holiday theme, "Chicken Fried" is literally about freedom, family, and American life. We even offered to tip him. Still no. We weren't asking him to abandon his set--just to read the crowd and mix things up. He refused outright and dug in. For a DJ, that's absurd. Around 8:30 p.m., a large family--clearly just as bored--set up a personal speaker and began line dancing. Instantly, the vibe changed. People joined in. Guests danced from balconies. It finally felt like the Fourth of July party we were advertised and promised. They weren't being disruptive, aggressive, or inappropriate--just dancing, smiling, and doing common line dances that naturally drew others in. When my mother politely asked the DJ if he could add more variety or line dances, he became defensive and snappy, citing his contract and how long he'd been doing this gig. It was unprofessional and unnecessary--essentially a temper tantrum over reasonable guest feedback. Minutes later, security shut down the family's speaker, claiming guest complaints about conflicting music. That explanation didn't align with what we all saw. The people around that family were laughing, dancing, and enjoying themselves--many had joined in. Guests on balconies were watching and dancing along. When my mother questioned the complaint, hotel staff admitted it came from the DJ himself. An important and uncomfortable detail: The family who was shut down was Black. A large Black family--20+ people--doing nothing but dancing and creating the fun, inclusive atmosphere the DJ and resort failed to provide. Watching this unfold firsthand, it was obvious they were treated dismissively and unfairly. Their joy, volume, and presence were framed as a "problem" the moment it conflicted with the DJ's ego, despite the fact that they were enhancing the experience for everyone else. The speed with which security intervened--based solely on the DJ's complaint--felt targeted, not guest-focused. Multiple people around us commented on the racial dynamic in real time. It was deeply upsetting and unacceptable. This could have been easily fixed with: * A DJ willing to engage the crowd * Hotel staff willing to listen Instead, no one listened. Music may seem like a small thing--but this wasn't just music. It was a poorly executed holiday event that nearly ruined the night for multiple families. We ultimately left and salvaged our Fourth of July on the beach, dancing together beneath fireworks--despite the resort, not because of it. If you're considering Breakers Resort for a holiday or event: Ask which DJ service they're using. If it's Ice Box Productions, keep it moving. And to Breakers Resort: do better. Hire DJs who understand crowd engagement, cultural awareness, and basic courtesy. Don't let guest experiences suffer for the sake of a rigid, out-of-touch contractor. Happy Fourth. I hope you improve.

Yelp
@$350 per night, This is by FAR was the worst hotel that we have stayed at in the last 10 years. They claim all the rooms are remodeled. Our room was ancient and was terrible. We complained to the front desk, with NO help from them twice. Mold in rooms, found roaches in the tub in the bathroom, ALL of the furniture was old. Both beds had mattresses so old that they squeaked with every movement. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. Regardless if SOME rooms are renovated, because you could get one that is not. We stayed in #2077. Pools are dirty, lazy river seems filthy. There were roaches running around by the lazy river indoor section of the pool. If I could give ZERO stars I would. Nasty hotel.

Yelp
I am writing a complaint regarding my deeply distressing experience during my recent stay at The Breakers Resort in South Carolina. My family and I stayed at the property for eight nights, and what was meant to be a relaxing vacation quickly turned into a nightmare due to the unsanitary conditions of the hotel and the complete lack of appropriate customer service and resolution by the management team. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the hotel was not being maintained at even a basic standard of cleanliness. Below is a summary of the unsanitary and unacceptable conditions we encountered: Bathroom mold: The caulking in the tub appeared to be covered in what looked like black mold. Dirty floors: The room floors had visible spider webs and a significant amount of dust collected in the corners. Unsanitary dishes: The silverware provided in our room was dirty before we even had a chance to use it. Stained lamp shade: One of the lamp shades in our unit had reddish-brown stains, suggestive of either dried blood or another unsanitary substance. Insect infestation: On the last night of our stay, we discovered a German cockroach crawling on the living room wall. Unbearable hallway odor: For the entire duration of our 8-night stay, the hallway outside our room smelled strongly of what can only be described as rotting flesh. However, the most serious and alarming issue occurred on the second night of our stay when we discovered what we believe to be a bed bug in one of our beds. Incident with Bed Bug: After 1:00 AM, we discovered a small bug in the bed. Since I wasn't immediately certain what it was, I used Google Lens to identify it. The result came back indicating that the bug was either a bed bug or a carpet beetle. My husband captured the insect in a water bottle, and we immediately went down to the front desk to report the issue and show the bug to the hotel staff. We were told at that time that the hotel was fully booked and they had no alternative rooms to move us to that night. The next morning, a technician from Orkin Pest Control came to inspect the room. The inspection was conducted with my family still present in the room. According to a friend of ours who has worked in the pest control industry for over 20 years, this is not standard protocol for a proper bed bug inspection. The Orkin representative removed the linens and placed them in the bathtub, but notably did not inspect: The kitchen The carpeting The pull-out couch The murphy bed Despite the limited scope of the inspection, Orkin reported back to the front office that they found no signs of bed bugs. Based on that single, partial inspection, the hotel attempted to resolve our concerns by offering a downgraded room and a $250 refund, both of which were inadequate given the circumstances. Post-Stay Follow-Up: After returning home from our trip, I contacted hotel management to discuss the experience further and to inform them that I had developed bites on my arms and legs. I spoke with a manager named Amanda, who was immediately dismissive and implied I was lying about our experience. Despite the fact that I had reported the issue multiple times and had evidence including the bug we captured, she asked me to provide "proof" of my complaints. Though I found this request insulting (especially since the hotel could have simply checked their own security cameras or incident records), I still followed up with a detailed email providing the requested information. As of today two full days later Amanda has not responded or acknowledged my email in any way. We are also concerned that we may have unknowingly brought bed bugs or other pests home with us, which could cause additional stress and expense. This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating, disappointing, and frankly traumatic. A hotel has a fundamental responsibility to ensure that its guests are staying in a clean and safe environment and The Breakers Resort has failed that responsibility on every level.

Yelp
Absolutely love my stay. The staffing was so friendly. The room was so spotless and everything was just as advertised as it should've been here. again five stars all the way round.

Victoria G.

Yelp
Our room had a mold infestation. The headboards of both beds were covered in mold, ceiling and chairs. The tables, sink, tub, bed frames and dressers were absolutely disgusting. They were covered in dirt and other substances. We stayed in the Paradise building. We also had a baby, a toddler and an older child with us. When this was brought up to staff they promised a new room and someone to clean it. It was never cleaned and we were never given a new room. This hotel is absolutely disgusting. And they only gave us a partial refund. The outside literally smells like raw sewage. I would never bring your family here. An absolutely vile resort.

Alexandra I.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars, I would. I stayed at the Breakers Resort (Sailfish Building, Room 211) from June 21-29, 2025, as part of a youth baseball trip. What should have been a celebratory, once-in-a-lifetime experience turned into a traumatic, health-endangering ordeal for me and 9 other families who booked through the Ripken Baseball travel portal. Our room had cockroaches crawling out of walls, under appliances, and in every corner. The room reeked of something awful, and after days of trying to mask it with cleaning products, I discovered the source: urine- and feces-soiled towels shoved under the bathroom sink. I reported it to staff and management--no response, no room change, no accountability. It didn't stop there. The hotel sprayed our room with chemicals while we were still inside, without warning, and with all our belongings exposed. The lazy river was visibly filthy, with cloudy water and dead cockroaches along the deck. After using the pool, I developed a severe skin rash, later confirmed by my physician to be caused by the unsanitary conditions. One of our other families had a room with confirmed bed bugs and had to be treated by pest control. To top it all off, another family's room flooded after a tropical storm, and when they reported it, the response from the front desk and management was appalling--no urgency, no willingness to investigate, no action at all. The common theme here: they simply don't care. We paid thousands of dollars--comparable to a luxury resort--for filthy, unsafe conditions, negligent staff, and absolutely no hospitality. I am still anxious that we may have brought pests home with us. There was no care for our health, comfort, or basic human decency. This place is a public health hazard. Stay anywhere else. And if you're booking through Ripken Baseball, think twice before trusting any partner recommendations.

Yelp
I have stayed here once before and I will say it looked almost exactly the same. However, I do think it was nice. I can see why they say the security which will be nice if they work on it because anybody can get into the pool area and hotel. I do think it's pretty clean as far as the rooms are concerned, however the water park definitely needs to be cleaned up more. The slides were super fun but not a lot of kids were going on them. The lazy pool was pretty cold but you got used to it. The room itself was pretty nice but set up very strange Like the reviews have said walking into the bedroom is pretty weird. I wish that was with living room was so great. Could have an ocean view from your room. The actual kitchenette was pretty small but nice. I would definitely be back and I think it would be nice to upgrade the pool a little bit

Savannah A.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed !!! Rooms were clean and even upgraded us to ocean view for free! Great place for a honey look, straight shot to ocean , pool and hot tubs were great and so many activities nearby Check in and checkout made easy!! Our tv wasn't cooperating and within 3 mins they had a worker there to troubleshoot!! Texting for customer service was amazing, and the wristbands as key card and resort access was GENUIS!! Highly recommend for your stay very family friendly. We stayed at the dunes suit

Christie J.

Yelp
Rooms need to be updated and the beds feel like rocks. You might as well sleep on a concrete slab. We are here now, on a 6 day vacation and I dread sleeping in this bed! Not great if you have back issues! The Rusty Reel was wonderful! The amenities are heated. Everything is good except the carpet is nasty, tubs are small and beds are horrible!

Yelp
We have been visiting Myrtle for years and typically stay in the same places but decided to try something new. The resort itself was great and could not beat the location. However the check in process and customer service was lacking. Our room was not ready and they could have cared less. We were told we would get a phone call well after trying to kill time for almost 2 hours we returned with now our luggage and groceries to be told "we tried to call you", no they DID NOT. There were no apologies either. Plus the woman double charged me the incidental and I did not get my additional breakfast tickets I pre paid for either. This info should have been in my reservation, again no apologies. Also over the course of the week we kept getting phone calls 3-5 times in a row, answer and no one there. I tried to text and email the guest relations contact, yet no response. The actual resort was great, plenty of pools to use, lazy river was amazing and food/drink locations. We stayed in an updated room in Sailfish. I do agree there needs to be security present with so many buildings along the stretch. There were a few incidents with homeless people sleeping on the benches.

Jaclyn R.

Yelp
Staff that is not condescending and inept would be a good start to improving this resort. The few maintenance and housekeeping staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The front desk staff was completely dismissive, rude, condescending and arrogant. Constantly giving excuses for their poor service or lack of communication when asking about fraudulent charges added to our stay. We asked multiple times about checking out late. We were told by multiple desk staff that we could until the morning of departure. Then we were told they never said we could check out late. There needs to be better training for staff members. I understand dealing with difficult guests can be stressful but that doesn't mean being rude to others who have genuine concerns and questions.

Yelp
My family and I have been guests at the Breakers almost every year since 2012 and have never had problem, until August 2024. August 2024, we stayed in the penthouse in the Sailfish building. While going down the only elevator, it stopped at a lower floor and a couple got on with 2 dogs. The man was carrying a small dog and his wife had a Yorkie on a leash. I thought that was odd because there are no pets allowed and they were clearly pets, the jumping up and down gave it away. There is literally a No Pets Allowed sign posted near the elevator. Later that night, I went to Registration to question their no pets policy. I expressed my concern about the dogs on the property to a young man behind the counter. After about ten minutes of getting jerked around, I asked for the manager. I was told she was engaged in other duties. I knew she was right around the corner and heard our entire discussion. I asked him if it was her nap time or was she having a snack. I knew she heard that and what do you know, out pops Jennifer. She assured me there were no pets in the hotel and they must have been service animals. After a lengthy discussion about the difference between service animals and pets, I could tell I was fighting a losing battle. Jennifer's lack of education couldn't comprehend that a dog is still a dog, whether it was a service animal or a pet, that people with animal allergies (which I have) need to be informed there are animals in the hotel. Her attitude was both condescending and sarcastic. I did see other dogs in the pool area and the hotel staff even confirmed to me that people do sneak pets into their rooms. At the end of the discussion, she left me with 2 options. One, suck it up sissy pants and we're not doing anything about the pets in the building or option 2, I could pack up and go to another hotel and she would refund some of my money. Oh, how nice of her! Two days later, I spoke to Jennifer's boss, Amanda. She was no help either. I was the same conversation I had with Jennifer. They must rehearse scenarios to blow off paying guests. They had the same answers since they seem to share the same brain. I told her I was done with the pet problem and that we had beat it to death and she clearly wasn't going to do anything about it. Onto problem number two. I told her there was a noise coming from the plumbing. It could best be described as a moose mating call. You would hear it at different intervals. One night, I heard it 8 times between midnight and 1:00 a.m. and if you were in the shower when you heard it, the shower would shut off and come back on. That was nice too. I met the people in the other penthouse and they said they didn't get a good night sleep their entire stay, because of the noise. I also spoke with people on other floors and they weren't happy either because everyone could hear it. I informed Amanda and she did send maintenance to my room and when I described the noise, they told me they knew exactly what I was talking about but there was nothing they could do because the hotel was aware of the problem but didn't want to spend the money to fix it. I wasn't going to let it ruin my vacation but i won't be staying at The Breakers next year or ever again. Amanda and Jennifer's actions set a new standard for ineptitude and ignorance.

Chad G.

Yelp
Idk why they don't give fucking cents back in losing money I can't believe these fuckers Timothy be nicer next time.

Adam G.

Yelp
Worse than some DAYS INN. rooms are closets. No housekeeping really except for emptying trash. One elevator. Dusty. Not really super clean. Basically a motel that's posing as a hotel resort. Online upgrades are very deceiving.

Yelp
Beautiful resort with plenty of amenities, staff was very accommodating and for the most part joyful. Cleanliness and views were definitely impressive. Can't wait to come back

Tracy P.

Yelp
This place is a total dump! Rooms smell, showers don't empty, cockroaches in hall. Long wait times for elevators. Pools are nasty and smelly. Staff are rude and unfriendly or acc.

Lucas N.

Yelp
Great location near the water and good pools/ patio areas. However, there was a blood stain on the shower curtain, and amenities were a bit lacking. Besides that, good experience would likely come back again!

Jerry H.

Yelp
What a disgusting, overpriced, underperforming hovel. I arrived late on a Friday afternoon exhausted from a day's drive to be given a room with an insect infestation. I complained and was changed to a different room that didn't have working A/C. I reported this and was told it was fixed only to discover at 11:30 that evening that it was not. After a sleepless night due to enjoying my 90 degree sauna of a room I went to the front desk to ask to speak with the manager. The young lady behind the counter told me, "I don't know where she is either, she was supposed to be here 30 minutes ago to relieve me." I decided to have breakfast while I waited. About an hour later I went back to the front desk and spoke with a very hung-over assistant manager who swapped me into a different room and wrote down the number for "Paradise Tower". I hauled all my stuff (a big duffel bag and a cooler) down the street to this new building and searched for room 1732. Once I was so frustrated I couldn't stand it I went back yet again and was told she wrote down the wrong number and that it was 1794. I finally found 1794 only to discover some of the tiniest beds I have ever seen in an adult room. I even tried to lie down and my feet hung off the end. I complained yet again and even joked, "Am I on some kind of prank show or something?" Yet another walk to the front desk to acquire yet another room that was finally acceptable. I called the front desk to tell them that despite the room having queen beds instead of the king I wanted, that I no longer cared, I was exhausted. By this point I had already missed my friends for the morning and I was so exhausted I slept for a few hours, also missing our mid-day activities. After the lack of sleep, and frustration I also managed to get a stress induced migraine, robbing me of my Saturday evening activities with my friends. I called the front desk to tell them that I expected a refund and was told "We can only refund you the resort and cleaning fees." I replied that I would expect a call from the GM and was told the message would be passed along. Two days after I returned home I called and left a message for the GM (Amanda) who called me back and admitted that not only had she not been told to call me, but I hadn't even been made aware of the situation. She refunded me a small amount (not the entire $350 per night!!!) If you plan on visiting Myrtle Beach DO NOT STAY AT THIS TERRIBLE "RESORT". To even call it a resort is laughable. The pools are tiny, the "water park" is barely better than something that would be sold at Wal Mart, the "lazy river" is a complete joke. Sadly, the staff just doesn't seem to care either.

Yelp
Did not take my reservation correctly over the phone. The pool area is under some kind of construction that was not made to our attention. BROKEN BED. We had 2 queen beds. 1 mattress had collapsed springs. Both beds were the lowest quality spring mattresses possible. The front desk refused to do anything about it. Overpriced and unappealing in every way. ARRIVAL DATE December 16, 2022 DEPARTURE DATE December 18, 2022 (they got this wrong, however, we were glad to leave and find a much better hotel for a lower rate) ROOM Paradise Ocean View Studio Type U (lousy floor plan) GUESTS 2 Adults, 0 Children SUBTOTAL $209.38

Yelp
We decided to come for a one night stay before my granddaughter started second grade. We were able to check in a bit before the stated 4:00 check in time. We had an extra person with us and it was no problem adding her and getting extra wrist band. Our room was a studio in the Paradise building with a nice ocean view on the 15th floor. It had a small balcony, 2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa. There was a fridge, sink and coffee maker in room. Didn't need stove as we were only there overnight. The room was clean and the shower was good. Location was great as there was many shops and restaurants within walking distance. They also offer free parking and gave us 2 free buffet breakfast across the street at Papas. Not the best nor the worst food. The best part is you have use of all the pools, slides, lazy river at each building. And beach access is a quick walk out back. We requested a late check out but they couldn't do it. Check out is 11am. But we made the most of it and used the facilities all day long. Our room was clean and we enjoyed our short stay. They have restaurants on site and the food was pretty good at Rusty Reel.

Yelp
This place is a mixed bag of pros and cons. Keeping in mind, it's the beach and most hotels suck, especially post Covid. The pros, the Paradise building was updated, rooms have a newer look, fresh furniture and paint. The parking garage is tight, but convenient, free and directly across the street. It's about a 5-7 minute walk to the boardwalk. Room keys are chipped bracelets, which are handy. Building was reasonably quiet. Decent WiFi. Plank flooring which seems less gross than typical carpeting. Central heating and air, a welcome improvement to most older hotels with loud systems. The cons, zero security, anyone can enter the building, to any floor. Anyone can enter parking deck, to any floor. Anyone can enter pool area. Room layout is absolutely ridiculous, especially given the remodel. You enter from the main hallway directly into the bedroom, then the "living room" is on the ocean front side. This yields the bedroom being in clear view anytime you open the door and it being as dark as a dungeon. Zero views of the ocean and all of the hallway noise. It really ruins the appeal of the room. Cleanliness is decent but certainly not 100%, with giant bugs being visible in the hanging lights. TV remotes are "universal" and a pita. Bathroom is tiny. Zero kitchen counter space (less than 3 sqft). Luggage carts, dirty towels and overflowing trash cans go unattended for at least a full day. Not a bad place by any means but the layout is a deal breaker for us to return. The bedroom entering off the hall eliminates any ocean views, sounds and exposes anyone in bed to strangers view if you are an early riser like myself. The lack of security didn't seem to have any ill affect but did yield multiple scam pizza menus under the door (FYI, never consider most of these places, they are scams and will still your CC info). There is also a total lack of amenities in the paradise building, requiring an outside walk for any need you may have.

Yelp
My husband and I have been staying at Breakers for around 30 years & have seen many changes over that time period. We had a major family tragedy & then the Covid outbreak, so its been over 5 yrs since we were there. This stay was different (and not in a good way) than in the past. Luckily we had a housekeeper named Victoria because the other ones did the BARE BONES MINIMUM. We were there for over 3 weeks so we didn't expect (or even WANT) daily service, but when we DID request service, I crossed my fingers hoping for Victoria!!! She took the time to do the cleaning CORRECTLY, not just QUICKLY! We'll be heading back to Breakers in the next few months and 1 of the 1st questions I'll ask upon checking in will be if Victoria will be our housekeeper!! Oh, & WHILE she's doing such a good job she's also VERY RESPECTFUL AND KIND.

Yelp
For starters we did an early check-in at 10:50 we didn't get into our room until 3:50 This place is horrible!!!!!!!! I won't be booking here anymore the service was down right unacceptable. From front desk all the way to custodians and staff they all have very condescending tones and non chalant attitudes. Note also they mislead us over the phone about booking a room, it was supposed to be an ocean from not a corner room view something that was not specified in the room details and description. Not only was the customer service but the rooms were dirty as hell and multiple reports the same day came through about cleanliness and sanitation along with price paying almost 690 - 2,500 for a room that's not even up to par.

Yelp
Let's start with the one decent thing I can say about this hotel. The room is actually quiet nice but it isn't enough to save this place. First off housekeeping is nonexistent. I can understand not coming in and cleaning everyday but if you are staying here for a week and nothing gets cleaned it replaced without you having to call the front desk it's a little crazy. Secondly there isn't enough elevators to suit the amount of people in the Paradise tower. With 21 floors how can you only have 3 elevators? One was also broken for the majority of our trip. This broken elevator problem doesn't stop within the hotel, you'll have to deal with it in the parking garage to. With tight corners where you can't see around them this place is a massive disaster waiting to happen. Also be prepared to go pretty far up every time. The biggest problem however is the "water park". I use that term loosely because it's smaller than you'd expect and very dated. The biggest problem however is the lack of safety within the area. It's a decently large size area and there isn't a single staff member there to make sure everyone is being safe. This makes for safety hazards everywhere with people jumping into the 3ft deep lazy River, people playing football in the lazy River, children climbing up slides when they are closed and riding down them headfirst and backwards, and children climbing up the water play structure to get to the top when it's closed. I saw a child climbing up the netting next the slides and fall from a what appeared to be a decent hight. I'm begging this place to put safety as a priority and find some more lifeguards!!!

Yelp
Staying in a one bedroom oceanfront suite. The view and location is great. Tons of things in walking distance. Rooms was updated recently but is already worn. Cleanliness could definitely be better. Upon checking in, had to clean bathroom on arrival. Hair in sink and toilet not clean. Large crumbs on floor throughout suite. Doors smeared with food or something and trash left behind dressers. The smell of bug spray from the halls and room was very strong. Front desk counters sticky and dirty on two different occasions. High traffic area very dirty at different times throughout the day. For the price you pay it is not worth it, for paying almost 3000$ for a week, you should not have to clean your room on arrival. Especially when you have no housekeeping during your stay.

Yelp
If you are looking for a smoke free room, this is not the hotel for you. I have asthma, so smoke free is a must for us. For three straight days our next door neighbor in the Palms suite, chain smoked. I complained multiple times a day and informed the front desk I had asthma. However no one ever came to enforce the no smoking policy. Nor was I offered a room transfer. Our stuff smelled like smoke when we returned home. My biggest concern was safety. Clearly the people in that room had disconnected their smoke alarm, or it never worked in the first place. I've also attached pics of the lovely stains and mold that was in our room. My recommendation is to find another place to stay!!!!

Yelp
Let's start with the positive. The customer service at Breakers is one of the best I've ever experienced. Especially Ms. Gail at the front desk. We purchased an ocean view thinking we would get just that... an ocean view. However, the view was of the hotel next door and you had to stretch over your balcony railing to even see the ocean. I called the front desk thinking we may have accidentally been put in the wrong room. Gail explained that this was the room view room but that she had ocean front rooms that she would upgrade me to with no extra charge. Along with that every single person who worked there was incredibly kind and helpful. As for the rest of the "resort". The pictures are VERY deceiving making this place looked more like a 4 star hotel online. It is possibly one notch up from a motel but priced as at 3xs as much. Here are the cons: lazy river not working, slides were closed, only one hot tub out of 3 worked, hot water didn't work for 3 hours, towels are the size of a hand towel, carpet is moist, furniture is stain, construction going on so the strong odor of paint and loud noise of drilling combat the relaxing ocean sounds, flooring was missing, carpet and furniture stained, our sheets and blankets had blood on them, elevators took 10-15 mins to open on your floor, all in all I wouldn't recommend this hotel simply based on the cost vs what you get. If the costs were half the price than I would say go for it but as of now stay away.

Yelp
The rooms in the paradise resort have been updated but STILL remain outdated. Ok for starters the chairs for the balcony were left in the room and not out on the deck area. There was inly 1 remote for both tvs. ANd the bed horrible I am not that old early 40s and no back problems but as soon as I got in this bed it was like WTH.... Please save your coin and upgrade to a better hotel. We used to frequent this hotel for years back in mid 2000s and decided to give it a chance since they were sending hubby emails about January deals but no don't do it. We were also booked in a different section of the resort originally so that was a hassle but the clerk was very kind and assisted us. I don't plan on returning and highly encourage Brittain resorts to put more effort into this hotel as it does have potential.

Yelp
I wish I could give this a negative 3 stars cause I drove 7 hours to this bull crap!!! Had reservations and was very enthusiastic about my vacation. Only to get here and be completely let down with a substandard room 2 times.

Yelp
The newly renovated rooms were nice. But they billed me twice for the amount quoted, I paid deposit initially and then charged an additional fee. The staff was rude and would not remove it and I will not book there again. **Beware of the sneaky fees**

Yelp
The customer service needs some work. During check in the front desk associate was rude and dismissive. Other than that the experience was pleasant. The suites were spacious and had an amazing views of the beach. The atmosphere was relaxing and I enjoyed the stay. Especially the lazy susan/ pool area.

Yelp
It's alright. Definitely make sure you book the new building if booking online but honestly I'd check the Marriott next door. Looks newer. It's got a little bistro that's open sometimes. Slides were closed when we were here on a Friday, bc no "lifeguard". This caused all the kids to just run up the slides vs using the stairs to the perch, which was locked. All good, the place was fairly nice but compared to the Breakers in Palm Beach, this place felt like Motel 6.

Yelp
Yelp 100 Challenge - 2018 # 69 The Breakers Resort is a nice family vacation spot in Myrtle Beach with multiple buildings. I love the multiple buildings and different pools. When we visited they had several events going on at the pool bar and the indoor bar. They offer towels at the pool and the housekeep staff are amazing. Check-in: We checked in on a Thursday to beat the weekend crowd and I am glad we did. Check in was pretty easy but they staff were a bit rude. There were only a few people waiting to be checked in and we wait 30 minutes before being seen. Parking: Breakers has a parking garage across the street from checkin with two addition lots of the main lot fills up. At check-in you get a parking decal to hang in your car so that it doesn't get towed. We enjoyed our stay at the Breakers Resort and hope to return whenever we visit Myrtle Beach.

Yelp
You're right on the beach, the rooms are large and the staff tries really hard but the dank smell of mildew stayed in my nose for weeks. This property is running at or near full occupancy most of the time and that doesn't leave a second to spare for much needed renovations and upkeep. While that's the reality on premise, the beach scene is terrific and their outdoor pool is kept better than expected considering the number of guests and is remarkably refreshing and somehow free of the chlorine haze that shrouds too many resort pools. However, there were a fair amount of free range children whose parents, while poolside, were blissfully ignorant of their offspring's behavioral lapses and obvious mental deficiencies. If you're looking to increase the nation's birthrate with quality versus quantity, a down and dirty poll at the Breakers indicates abject failure. Step it up people. On that point I'm almost kidding but on the hotel itself, it did the trick simply because of the beach. On balance, I'd probably do it again but maybe not in the heart of summer.

Yelp
The Breakers resort is a solid 3 stars, this is my second stay at the Breakers. I will break this down into Pros and Cons. Pros: The location is fantastic, ocean front resort made up of a few buildings with another coming soon. The beach is beautiful, lifeguards on Duty with chairs and umbrellas for rent. The parking garage is terrific, several floors of ample parking with Elevators. There are indoor and outdoor pools available and depending on what building you are staying may determine how far of a walk you will have. There is a Breakers operated Starbucks across the street, a Dunkin' Donuts within 2 minute walk, a piggly wiggly supermarket within a 10 minute walk, a ridiculously awesome Krispy Kreme within the same 10 minutes. Broadway at the beach is less than 10 minutes via car, barefoot landing is about 25 minutes away. 2 excellent restaurants with bar service are around the corner, Hot tomato and Soho Steak and Seafood. The staff is great, they do their best to accommodate requests such as late checkouts, towels etc. Cons: Parts of the resort are run down, I know they are doing renovations every year and construction on a new building has begun. The indoor pools when crowded are less than desirable and I can confidently say COVID19 or no COVID19 I am not dipping a toe in. The guests in the hotel are a treat, crying and screaming kids, and neighbors who choose to smoke Marijuana in their rooms make the experience that much better. Overall it's a solid resort with a lot of potential. Just temper your expectations.

Yelp
Myself, my two children and my father stayed at the Breakers Myrtle Beach resort this past week and to put it lightly - take your money elsewhere. The smell we were greeted with on the 7th floor was disgusting, but thankfully it didn't follow us into the room. The couch in our room was filthy and clearly needed to be professionally cleaned. The bathroom had mold on the floor/tub area. We called the the front desk 10x before anyone answered - and other times no one answered. When we questioned why no one had been answering at the front desk - the man on the phone said he was the only one working?! Housekeeping is very inconsistent. The few times they came to our room there was no cleaning involved - they only left towels and emptied trash. The days that they did not come we were told to put all of our trash and dirty towels in the hall and they will get to you eventually. We ran out of toilet paper and after finally reaching someone at the front desk they told us we could walk to the registration building and get some....no, they won't bring it to you. You will be told something different by every staff member that you speak to... I experienced 5 different price quotes while trying to book a room, and I was told the website doesn't contain correct information - so the rooms it was showing as available - were not available. The parking garage is HELL. Be prepared to panic every time you enter and exit due to inadequate room for two vehicles to enter/exit at the same time. positives : kids loved the lazy River & waterslides. The Rusty Reel had good food, and Papas was reasonably priced and good food.

Yelp
If you stay at The Breakers, DO NOT accept a room at their 'Dunes' facility/building. Better yet, save yourself money and sanity and stay elsewhere!! The Dunes is a separate building that looks like it was an old stand alone motel. It is a run down facility that is dire need of upgrading. The hallway (open to the outside) was dirty, the elevator was disgustingly filthy and the rooms had that old musty smell. All this for $200 per night!! Their other facilities have very nice rooms. When I spoke with the manager, she said the rooms are a little cheaper at the Dunes as if they were marked down because of the condition of the facility. $200 per night may be less than their other facilities but that doesn't justify an outrageous fee for a sub-standard, run down, dirty facility!! I spoke with the manager in the morning and noted I had a message on my room phone later that same day. The message was not for me. It was a message from the week before I was there. It was the night manager leaving a message for a previous guest, apologizing for the condition of the room but that it was too late in the day to get them moved over to one of the other buildings on the property!! I guess I was correct when I made the comment to the manager that she can't me I am the first one to raise the poor conditions at the Dunes!! UPDATE: I tried to call and speak to someone in management. I took five calls before I got through to leave a message for the manager on duty. Call 1 went to someone in golf. He forwarded me to the Front Desk and the call went dead right after telling me they were having "technical difficulties". Calls 2,3 and 4, after pushing 4 for the Front Desk, no one answered and I the line went dead after about 10 rings - no voice message option.

Yelp
While this resort is in a fantastic location, cleanliness is not it's top priority. The room we stayed in has a pull out couch that looks like a crime scene. I don't think the cleaners are even checking on these areas. It was disgusting! Again, the location is fantastic but the rooms need attention.

Yelp
We have stayed here a few time over the years and we enjoyed our overnight stay this trip. The hotel is convenient to everything! Walk to pavilion or very short drive few blocks to broadway at the beach. Our room was good. The beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious for what it was. We got a one bedroom oceanfront suite so we had a decent living room to catch some late night shows and balcony with awesome views.. we also had a small kitchen which was perfect for us. We could have cooked but we only really needed fridge for our drinks and snacks. There is construction going on but you couldn't hear it from room unless you opened a door. Very quiet. Spring break has started so not tons of people but you can tell it's getting busy down there. You no longer use cards to open door to your room it's in a bracelet now. I remember bracelets for going into pools and using amenities and kids used to keep them from all places we went but at breakers you turn them in at check out..we have stayed in lot of different places but breakers has always been consistently good with accommodations and service.

Yelp
Overall, a well maintained "resort" and the only major reason that I give it 3 stars is because we were staying on the 13th floor that they refer to as penthouse , since they probably don't want to deal with the unlucky number 13 on the elevator panel. The Sailfish building at Breakers Myrtle Beach has only one elevator so it became a real issue when it stopped working one evening as we prepared to go out for dinner.. The front desk did not handle the situation as well as it should. I called the front desk to make them aware of the issue and their response was that they would relocate me to another building . I tried to explain to the individual that there were three of us in the two bedroom condo and two of us had mobility issues and could not possibly handle walking down 13 flights of stairs. The short answer was that we would just have to wait until the elevator was repaired. No timeframe was given since it hadn't yet been determined what the issue was. I again called front desk and asked if they would walk up a pizza delivery if I ordered it to be delivered to the front desk since we were unable to go out for dinner. The front desk assured me that pizza deliveries would bring it to our door. Being a skeptic, I called the pizza place and explained what our issue was and they informed me that 5 floors is the limit . I again called the front desk and they now suggested that I meet pizza delivery man on the fifth floor. The elevator was eventually fixed and we skipped dinner that night. Breakers is a well maintained property and the multiple pools are clean. They keep pool towels well stocked . The advice I would give anyone staying in the Sailfish building at Breakers is to be mindful of the fact that this building has one elevator. and I can attest that it is not working 100 percent of the time.

Yelp
This place all depends on what you want. I mean I can see it more for college kids. It's right on the beach, but there is plenty of after dark activities like cars cruising around nonstop and loud music. As far as college age goes, here's the kicker. I don't think the bars are really their scene. Maybe the hangout. Anyway, the hotels are filled with mainly families because the Ripken experience is a few miles away. About the hotel itself, (positive) it's right on the beach, has pools and hot tubs and walking distance to many places. (Negative) parking is limited to next to nothing, forget having anything like towels or toilet paper after day 1, don't expect a bed to be made, and things like soap are nonexistent.

Yelp
We stayed at the Breakers Resort, Paradise tower, for our week-long beach vacation. Our condo was a 3 bedroom, 2 bath ocean front unit. The Breakers was ok... not the best but far from the worst. Pros: -Very family friendly -Awesome pools and lazy rivers -Beach front -within walking distance to all sorts of food, attractions -Friendly staff- especially housekeeping! -3 bedroom, 2 baths units available (3 baths would have been awesome) -on site restaurant -free DVD rentals Cons: -It seemed dirty in my opinion. (Mold in the shower, corroded/moldy faucet in bathroom -cost (would have been high everywhere due to when we went but this place was $2,600 for the week) -CROWDED POOL AREA (not relaxing at all) -elevators took FOREVER -LOUD elevators (we were in room 1270, right next to the elevator and it sounded like an airplane flying over every minute... nope just the elevator!) -unloading/loading area is a shit show Would we stay here again? Maybe... personally we prefer NORTH Myrtle which is a little less crowded so if we come back to the area, we'll probably go back up there.

Yelp
This resort is broken up into six different buildings and the buildings aren't all updated. Parking is free but is across the street. You will need to drop off your luggage at your building first if you have a lot. We stayed in the Pirates Cove building which is right in the center (the check in is in this building). It was the lowest of all the buildings at only three stories tall. There is no elevator service in this building. Because the building is so low, our ocean view was obstructed by really tall palm trees. The room itself was freshly painted but had an old musty feel to it. The refrigerator and microwave needed to be replaced, they were old and dirty looking. I did like the fact that we had access to every pool and amenity across all the different buildings. My kids LOVED the heated lazy river. There was also a small waterpark for younger kids. Pool towels were pretty bad so a lot of people brought their own. Access to the beach was perfect. The resort is also a very short walking distance to everything. We didn't move our car once during our stay. Overall not a bad stay but not the nicest room. If we come back to Myrtle Beach I would try a different building or different resort all together.

Yelp
My Family and I stay at the Breakers Resort every year. This year was by far the worst stay. At the Palms bldg we experienced no AC for 3days, a clogged shower for 3days and an array of cosmetic issues such as chipping paint & floor tile that moved around. We were not offered a discount nor did we ever receive our welcome packet upon arrival per usual. I was very disappointed especially since we have vacationEd here for years.

Yelp
This is the worst location I've stayed at in MB. I looked at the reviews and decided to stay here. Yes, rooms are spacious, it's right on the beach but there are a lot of details missing. The property has a few pools, 2 outdoor which are heated and about two indoors which are also heated. The one in our building (Sailfish) was not big. The main water amenities are in the Paradise building which is two blocks down the sidewalk. The waterslide is in the Palms one building away. The kitchen wasn't even stocked with all of the basics youd get if you stayed somewhere else like paper towels and dishwasher detergent! My first room had roaches in the kitchen. I called the front desk and she tells me that I have to wait until the next day for them to call Orkin (not happening). I eventually changed rooms but the manager, Peter, was prepared to cancel my reservation rather than try to make better accommodations. We were moved to a smaller 2 bedroom condo (not the 2 BR Villa we booked). Our phone kept ringing at 5am and they people above us were just ridiculously loud. I will NEVER and I mean NEVER stay here again!! And for those visiting for the first time, they tell you you get a free gift but what you actually get is a 5 hour "sales presentation" to go visit Wyndham. Don't let them tell you it's 2 hours. That's a total lie I'm only giving 2 stars for the cleaning service. Those ladies were outgoing and very helpful during our stay.

Yelp
If I could give this negative stars, I would. The breakers has several buildings, and we requested a two bedroom suite. We were given a room in the "Dunes" building, and it looked like the motel that I stayed in for spring break in 1989. This was a normal sized motel room with two double beds and a galley kitchen in between. It was not clean and had not been updated in at least 20 years. We checked out early and switched to a different hotel after the first night. We did not get the two bedroom suite that we were told we would get. Will never stay there again.

Yelp
BE ADVISED! If you are a law abiding citizen and have a conceal carry license and take the responsibility of protecting your family on your drive to The Breakers you will be very disappointed when you arrive and see NO FIREARMS signs on all their buildings. I suppose they feel it is safe to leave your firearm in your vehicle (where most criminals get their stolen weapons!). Plus they advertise to all the criminals that all of their guests have been disarmed ( and their firearms are likely in their vehicles). It's just not a safe place to stay. They really need to review their policy. We DID reach out to them weeks before writing this review but received no reply.
