Truly enjoyed our breakfast at Breakfast in America. The food was hot, fresh and good. We had no complaints and know where to come for an American style breakfast. Our server was nice and the prices were reasonable

Google
Great place for breakfast with real and unlimited coffee. I just cannot say enough good about the friendliness of the employees, especially Denise. If you are ever in the Latin Quarter of Paris, the 5th, drop in for some great food. If you are from the USA especially they have OUR unlimited coffee refills also!

LOVE this place. As tourists from the US, we’ve had a bit of a struggle finding places that suit us for breakfast. We tried all sorts of cuisines over our week stay but still missed the traditional eggs, toast and taters that we are so used to. A lot of breakfast spots we visited had extremely sweet mains for breakfast or things we weren’t very used to. Finding this spot was amazing. We got in a hearty breakfast of eggs, toast, potatoes and pancakes and a good old cup of coffee and OJ. The hot coco is also delicious. Enough to last us the day until dinner time. The atmosphere resembles traditional 50’s style diners which was also exciting to see. The staff is absolutely delightful. Thank you and we’ll probably be back someday!

A little place of home abroad ❤️ friendly staff! Delicious pancakes. Ate them before taking photo 😋

Google
This is a super cute diner. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There were 3 of us, each trying different things. Omelet, breakfast burrito and pancakes and everything was delicious.

Loved it! The food was very good and the service was amazing. The lemonade was really good! Eggs very fluffy. Enjoyed our breakfast and will love to return!

If you’re an American feeling homesick for a good old American breakfast then this is the place for you. I had the classic farmer’s breakfast with two eggs, two bacon and two pancakes. The pancakes were perfect.

Google
This place is a fantastic choice for simple yet delicious food! It’s especially perfect on Sunday mornings, where you’ll find a mix of American families and tourists enjoying their breakfast and creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere. The vibes here are genuinely great, and the staff adds to the experience with their friendliness and attentiveness. True to its advertising, this diner perfectly captures the essence of an authentic American-style experience. The coffee stands out as exceptional, and the desserts are equally satisfying, adding a sweet touch to the meal. Overall, my visit was thoroughly enjoyable, and I’m already looking forward to coming back again!

Yelp
I'm perfectly happy eating almost anywhere in Paris, arguably among the finest in the world. Paris has a variety of regional French styles, other national cuisines than French. So It's appropriate so Breakfast in America is a natural fit, especially considering the heavy traffic of tourists and a sizeable American population resident. Breakfast in America is essentially an American diner with food that will make you feel back home, wherever your home diner is. Coffee American style, fries, coffee, burgers, pancakes - with friendly helpful and efficient service. MY first experience there was years ago when I lived in Paris for several months in a flat a short block away. . I had to make an effort not to eat there every day. Where we stay depends on what flats are available. For many years we were in Paris several times a.year and usually found a day to eat here.

Yelp
When in Paris a must! Loved this lil diner, and we didn't care how far away BIA was from our hotel, because it was about surviving our current dissatisfaction with their food! Staff was super friendly. We both ordered CC's Big Mess, pancakes and asked for some tortillas which of course they had and it was food heaven! Freshly squeezed orange juice and their hot chocolate was exquisite. We wish they had mugs for sale because we really wanted to buy one!

Yelp
My daughter suggested this charming spot as it was a go to for her college friends during the first few weeks of their Junior year abroad. A place where it was okay to speak English. We ordered burgers and fries at about 2:00 on a weekday, others were ordering pancakes, omelettes and other American breakfast foods. The joint was busy and the two servers were just keeping up with clean-up, seating and serving, it almost seemed choreographed. The burgers were juicy, fries crisp and a milkshake to share was chocolaty but not over the top. The place was full of customers chatting and enjoying themselves but not so loud you couldn't converse at your own table. This place is cozy and charming. Need some American diner food, head this way. If I lived here, I'd come back.

Yelp
Has a specific American diner feel. Food was okay though no butter was given and not enough strap. 222 was plenty big for one and eggs were well cooked. If going for American diner should have waffles and hash browns on the menu.

Yelp
Good breakfast place to go if you want American food. The 3x3x3 is a great value and was really good. Eggs cooked just how I wanted them. Fresh orange juice was delicious

Yelp
Half way thru the trip and we were wanting a little taste of home! These folks gave us that with an amazing American breakfast! A must try!

Yelp
Great place, location, and service. When I got there the waiter was polite and was patient for what I was ordering. I got an Oreo shake (highly recommend trying), and the food was cheap. Overall, a good place to go to.

Yelp
To start. My hotel offers breakfast but only during a certain time so I decided to search for breakfast closer to the center of Paris. I chose this place because it serves breakfast all day. This day was a Sunday. I was very happy that the hostess spoke English so that was exciting. The place itself was well worn much like some of the diners in the U. S. Usually that means that the food is good and they usually get a good crowd. I arrived around 3:30 and asked for seating for one and out of the whole empty restaurant I was sat right next to the register. Where everyone pays and where the food comes out. Like, why??? I put in my order and noted that my butter was perfectly soft enough to spread on my toast. Great! Tea came in a big mug and the juice was in a small glass. This was good. My food came out with out the pancakes and my server asked did I mind. It was not a problem for me until I realized that other patrons who came in after me also ordered pancakes and they got theirs before me. Like what were they waiting for? When the patrons finished their meal I finally asked if someone could check on my pancakes they came out maybe 5 - 10 minutes later. They were a small stack. They arrived without butter or syrup. I had to ask for both. Really? She then brought me butter, which was hard as a brick and I asked if they had any softer butter and the hostess said no. Okay.... So I place the hard brick pats of butter in between the 3 pancake stacks and waited for them to melt. I then cut half the stack into bit size small pieces and when I went to pour the syrup it got all over my hand. I'm pretty sure the top was loose. There is no other explanation. I then went down these narrow stairs to wash my hands. Which, luckily, I was able to figure out turning on the water. I decided to forgo the restrooms, it was just too dirty for me. I was hesitant to touch anything else besides the water unit. As I was washing my hands a guy came out of nowhere, I suspect he used the men's restroom, yet, he did not even attempt to wash his hands. :( I did not see him in the restaurant upstairs at all. Weird. Magician? At that point I decided I would not subject myself to another minute of trying to eat anything more. The food was just passable for the 22,00 euros I spent and I had gotten much better food in a cleaner establishment for 8,00 euros. I selected this place based on a very positive review I read. Unfortunately, we had very different experiences.

Yelp
Its a cool concept but the food doesn't live up to it, or you could say its authentic America to the extent that many american breakfast joints are meh. Potatoes were mushy not crunchy. Coffee was reminiscent of a typical american bottomless cup. Omelette pretty tasteless. But again, if you're in paris but going for an American dive vibe, this may be it. You'd have to really miss america a lot.

Yelp
This was right around the corner from our apartment on our trip to Paris. My kids were missing the American style breakfast and this is where we found it. The owner was walking around the restaurant and truly cares about her place. An American girl transplanted in Paris bringing American breakfast to the city. The cutest old-school small diner vibe can be found here. It was very authentic and the food was delicious. Excellent service.

Yelp
A standard place if you want an American breakfast in Paris! Went here twice given it's proximity to where I live and needed to grab a decent breakfast. My first time was on a Sunday and they offer a Sunday brunch for 17 euro which includes a main dish, pancakes, coffee, and orange juice. The food was not bad but nothing special as well. My second time I tried the french toast which was great and the portion was decent. I would recommend the french toast if you come here. Overall a standard place and work great if it's close to you but otherwise you are in Paris try something new!
google avatar

Brianna O.

Yelp
Nice to have a piece of home in France. Definitely like regular french food more but was still fun.

Yelp
Wet nice little spot in Paris! In a place where there are so many restaurants and so little good customer service and food....this place was a delight! My daughter rarely eats anything and she asked for more. The people who waited on us were also nice ....especially considering the rudeness in the city. I'll return here in January when I'm back in France!

Yelp
So after subconsciously avoiding Breakfast in America for years, since I don't let myself eat American food when I'm here in France (I eat it every single day when I visit once a year) I found myself at an event sitting across from one of the owners! It was interesting explaining to him that yes, I had a breakfast club that met once a month, but no, we had not managed to make it to BIA. Probably time to stop punishing my friends through my subconscious "don't eat American food in France" bias and bring them by, as the food is good, in enormous American portions (which means you'll get a meal for later too), with decent pricing.
google avatar

Isabel J.

Yelp
Who comes from NY to Paris to have an American breakfast? yes this girl :) We weren't staying far and stopped in here since we wanted some eggs and it seems like pastries are more common for breakfast. I loved the whole 1950s diner décor and soft rock playing. The menu is just like here omelets, pancakes and stuff like that. One thing I found unique was that they bring you bread but each table has their own toaster so you toast your own bread which was kind of cute.
google avatar

Jase A.

Yelp
JUST OK If you're an american, in paris and want a little bit of home then this is where you go. BUT, be ready to spend them dollars. I ordered the french toast with bacon, banana and maple. It was pretty decent like a 7/10. Personally, I can make better at home. Service was great. Place was packed. If I come back to Paris, I probably won't re-visit.

Yelp
Echoing what EVERY American on here has said...when you haven't seen an egg, piece of protein, or cup of coffee in 12 days Breakfast in America shines like a beacon in the night. We got sick of eating croissants literally every. single. day. We found this spot, and it is hilariously cliche and on purpose. Started by an American film student who just wanted BREAKFAST! There are Friends posters, soft rock music playing, and most importantly it looks like a 50's diner. We ordered a Western Omelette and the classic breakfast two eggs, toast, and bacon. Surprise! They had english muffins - WIN! The breakfast by American standards - totally just ok. After not eating eggs for 12 days the BEST thing I have ever tasted. Totally recommend, but only if you are at your wits end. Enjoy Paris and then when you feel like you're going to die, come here and you will be satisfied!
google avatar

Jon L.

Yelp
James & I found ourselves in Paris on Thanksgiving day. Where to go for a traditional meal? Well, BIA of course! We had a delightful experience here with a traditional meal. It requires and advance reservation for one of there 3 sittings but the meal and service were excellent!

Yelp
Even though I'm in France and I like to explore and taste unfamiliar foods specific to a country, I like my breakfast as close to normal as possible. I stopped into this place as the menu seemed to be everything I was looking for. They offer all of the normal foods we would get in the states at pretty much the same price point. The service was pretty good and the food was average but good. This location is about a ten minute walk from the Notre Dame Cathedral but they have multiple places around town.
google avatar

Yelp
We were in France for almost three weeks on vacation. What do I crave while I'm on vacation? A delicious "big breakfast". What is nearly impossible to find in Paris? That's right, a big breakfast. Now I'm a big believer of "when in Rome" and immersing yourself in the local culture, but I'm also a believer in having what you enjoy on the best vacation of your life. Thank you Yelp for pointing me to Breakfast in America. I loved my American style coffee. The pancakes and bacon were just ok. The service was kind of slow, but despite the "America" in the name, you're still in France. (Although they expect you to tip American-style.) If this place was in the U.S., I wouldn't recommend it. But like the only man in a convent, BIA looks pretty good when you've gone without for a while.
google avatar

Jeane J.

Yelp
This place was good but i can't give it 5 stars because there was NO A/C.. which made for an uncomfortable experience but the waitress was really nice, and the pancakes were the absolute best !!! I really enjoyed the bacon as well .. Food - 5/5 Restaurant itself - 3/5
google avatar

JD D.

Yelp
BIA is a great place to have breakfast (served all day) and hang out. Bottomless cup of Jo helps too. Sometimes when you have been on the road a while, a croissant just won't do it. They have the "Big Mess" which is like a skillet from the Village Idiot (Inn). I see a lot of people ordering burgers here too. PS, they also have beer & wine. Viva la France!
google avatar

Molasses X.

Yelp
It's pretty good...I went here couple times and idk how to explain it, in America this would be a very average breakfast place but in Paris where it's harder to get this type of American food it's pretty good. The milkshakes are way over priced but the cheeseburger student menu option is good. I'd go back but I wouldn't be super excited about.

Yelp
Great customer service , warm welcoming and I had a great American style breakfast. I will def come back again. Thanks from Florida !!!! :)

Yelp
Wife got the avocado toast breakfast I got eggs, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes and toast. We also had fresh squeezed orange juice. Was very solid and good food. Potatoes were some of the best you can get from a restaurant. Had a nice crisp to them and still much thicker than traditional hash browns. Eggs were solid. Bacon was good sausage tasted like maybe it was chicken sausage rather than pork but was still ok. Orange juice was fresh squeezed and delicious. If you want an easy or typical American breakfast this definitely hits the spot. GPS took us to a park across the street but the location was still very close to there.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent traditional American diner fare. Friendliest service & best value in the neighborhood! Recommend CC's Mess and the bottomless Cup of Joe. Attention to detail and freshness of ingredients ++. We were served by the owner, I believe, who is terrific! Go, try!
google avatar

Frank S.

Yelp
Holla to all Americans abroad! This is the most American breakfast in Paris. Fine Parisian dinning is the reason you're here, but a little taste of home is always nice! Just make sure to asked for butter on the side of your pancakes. The French are kind to your cholesterol numbers, but American Breakfast is about exploding that!!!
google avatar

Elisabeth S.

Yelp
Everything was absolutely wonderful! The only thing that cost is its one star is that it can be a bit loud sometimes. Will definitely come again :)

Michael F. C.

Yelp
Terrific. The French toast is thick and eggy. The pancakes and tea mugs are huge. The sausages are yummy. And the menu describes (American) coffee as "sock juice," which it uniformly is. Thanks, folks!
google avatar

Morgan H.

Yelp
loved this place since the first time I tried it a year ago. Eating croissants everyday gets tiring so pancakes eggs and bacon "American style" just does the tummy right! Servers are pretty cool, for the most part fluent in English. CC's big mess was amazing literally throw breakfast items in the air and it'll turn into a smorgasbord of deliciousness
google avatar

Ralph P.

Yelp
With an empty diner for breakfast the 18 year old waitress wanted us to sit in a table when nice booths were empty. Well that started the ball rolling but, still undeterred I wanted to try that American breakfast. What a disappointment. Waiting for cream or milk and then it was like pulling teeth to get a refill. Who was I kidding after eating that great Spanish food for weeks earlier. No not recommended and no the place did not fill up as promised.

Yelp
Save yourself the grief, go to the Marais location instead! We came for Fourth of July, and sure enough there was a holiday special. We asked our waitress, and she said she didn't know, and didn't bother to ask another server or her manager. Strike two and three was when she messed up both of my friends orders, even though she had us repeat it a few times for her to write down in the beginning. Asked for blueberry pancakes... no blueberries. When they came back from the kitchen, the pancakes were half the original size, it was ridiculous. She didn't get the right order for the eggs, and forgot the pancake syrup entirely. Eventually, our original server began ignoring us and a different server had to bring over the toast and syrup. We truly weren't being irritating, kindly asking her for things that we ordered - and have to pay extra for! - the few times she came to our table. Beyond the awful service, the food was sub par here in comparison to the other location too. I fell in love with the blueberry muffin at the Marais spot, and it was half the size and odd tasting here. Through and through disappointment.

Tiana W.

Yelp
Visited this restaurant while on vaca in Paris and it was delish. In a cute location. Nothing fancy, def gives u a "moms and pops" feel. I ordered breakfast: eggs, ham steak, toast and home potatoes. This was the ONLY restaurant my mom actually liked the coffee while we were in Paris so I think it's safe to say the coffee is on point since my coffee obsessive mom liked it!
google avatar

Hally S.

Yelp
We're from Arizona. When in France, this is a must stop for us before we go back home. I love the fact that you get to toast your own bread at your table. Always order the fresh orange juice, you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Philip W.

Yelp
The 4:00-7:00 apple caramel pie with bottomless coffee was absolutely disgusting. I legitimately regret the €5 I spent on that. It's not the price that bothers me, I cannot believe I wasted precious calories on that. The small piece of pie had no texture to it- it was lukewarm and felt wet from a microwave. The apple flavor was absent - rather it was just a disgusting amount of sugar. Breakfast in America, you know better- that is NOT classic american Apple pie even worthy of being served In a dingy diner on the New Jersey Turnpike
google avatar

Kate L.

Yelp
If you're an American looking for a piece of home here in Paris, look no further. Breakfast In America has milkshakes, cheddar cheese omelettes, and breakfast potatoes that almost make you feel like you're back in the states. This place looks like every other kitschy American diner with red vinyl booths and those metal-rimmed table tops. The waitresses are American and it so strange (yet cool) to order food without the slightest bit of French. As for the food, the cheddar cheese tasted a bit like American cheese and the breakfast potatoes were a little cold, but the "Obama" milkshake was a chocolate peanut butter heaven. Also, my friend had the blueberry pancakes and said they were amazing. The prices are on par for Paris, and really can you even put a price on hometown comfort food? I'll be back for another milkshake soon, and if you're really into great milkshakes or you're a study abroad study looking for a little cultural escape, I would definitely recommend you check this place out.
google avatar

Brittany T.

Yelp
Burgers were good, but the place was in desperate need of a deep cleaning. Also, fly problem above and at our table. Ruined appetite.
google avatar

mari a.

Yelp
Breakfast in America offers a solid dose of American Diner food. The cooks here are serving up 'Home' on a plate. A HUGE plate that is, covered with scrambled eggs, sausage, and home fries. A side of toast. And don't forget the stack of Blueberry Pancakes! All topped off with a good ol' cup of joe. This is TRULY a grand slam breakfast!
google avatar

Gavin C.

Yelp
First time I came in here, the place sank its claws into me fast: I'd been accidentally smitten by Laura, one of the waitresses working bar. Quite a story, feel free to ask me about it: but it kept me from getting a good look at the place the first time around. So I came back, maybe for the wrong reasons, but I did. It's a sweet little place, I'll have you know: it's got the crowded-diner charm (even when empty), unlimited joe, pancake specials, big ol' burgers, fat-man cooked breakfasts... I love it. I'm a big guy, though, so pushing past seats and down a narrow staircase to the toilets where I may have to twist a bit makes it less welcoming than it should be. Staff is friendly enough if a little distant - but that's no biggie. You want something (like the waiter's attention) you go out and get it. Be a man, for Pete's sake. This place is americana soundtracked by Tracy Chapman. It's a piece of united states culture brought to life by a population of students and backpackers. Because your diet can wait but your tastebuds can't - drop by. Sit down. Order a drink. Think of something else.
google avatar

Jameelah S.

Yelp
There are 2... What! My classmates coaxed me (it didn't take much)... This time I had a classic strawberry milkshake, YUMWOW! My "Ginger"'s french toast was bigger & better than mine at the other location. Though we all had good things, someone mentioned their burger was gamey in taste & another persons sausage did not taste of the pork sausage in America; maybe it's Parisian meat!?! Fries, burritos, pancakes, french toast, eggs and of course milkshakes are recommended, if you are yearning for some US while abroad!
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
It was our last day in Paris and our group was dying for some pancakes and brewed coffee. Thankfully we found Breakfast in America! The pancakes were soooo tasty! I do wish the coffee tasted less like water and more like coffee. Overall, whenever I am back in Paris ill always make sure to stop at Breakfast in America!
google avatar

Dean W.

Yelp
Great dinner food and friendly service. Contemporary restroom facilities. A few Parisian "accents:" bacon tastes a bit herbed, tiny tables and standard American booths, and milk (note half'n'half) with the coffee. Altogether, wonderful experience! Thanks, Craig! (Oh, and you can buy an autographed of the creator's best-selling story of Paris' first authentic American diner.)
google avatar

Greg D.

Yelp
We had heard about this place through a google search and decided to give it a try. If you're looking for a taste of home away from home, this place is highly recommended! My wife and I shared the Lumberjack Breakfast and we still couldn't eat all the food. Everything was delicious. The fresh squeezed orange juice was a plus. We at the bar and the service was on point! The restaurant itself is not too big, but it fits right in with the rest of the restaurants in Paris.
google avatar

Kate Lý J.

Yelp
Quality breakfast. Great coffee and milkshakes. Would definitely recommend for breakfast and brunch! Also lol @ the Obama milkshake...

Liza D.

Yelp
In case you are looking for a job here - think twice. The manager, Graham, was really unpleasant and shockingly rude to someone who came in for a trial shift and worked hard for 9 hours for free. All the other workers and the boss were friendly though. As a guest I am sure you can have a very nice experience, place is nice and food decent.
google avatar

Max J.

Yelp
This is just like the old diners in the USA in the 1950's and 60's. We went and the only seating was at the counter. Good for us because we got to see them make the awesome milkshakes. You have to try them. The person making them even lets us try the leftover shakes after they were made. The food and atmosphere was top notch and so was the food. Please note there seems to be two of these restaurants in Paris.
google avatar

M M.

Yelp
I am a pancake SNOB and these were some fantastic pancakes. The bottomless coffee was delicious and rare. Eggs, burgers, and bacon tasted good. Breakfast was definitely top notch. But more than anything else, the staff at BIA would listen to our tales of woe about the snobby french interactions during our travels and lend a sympathetic ear and some sound advice. Nice to hang out with some native English speakers.
google avatar

Zack D.

Yelp
Good shakes and real pancakes. Excellent service from friendly staff. Genuine American diner vibes, with an extensive menu.

Yelp
I went to Breakfast in America on a Sunday morning and it was quite packed! If you're coming in a group (2+ people) on a weekend then you might want to expect a wait so you're not disappointed. This is definitely a popular restaurant with an American diner theme. Things I liked: - The amount of food you get is certainly generous! I ordered the brunch formula with CC's Big Mess, a brownie (that I got to-go), orange juice, and bottomless coffee for just a little less than 20 euros (the formula is a couple euros cheaper if you get a different platter than CC's Big Mess). Even the size of the orange juice was substantial and you get toast along with your meal (plus butter & jelly). - I really like the taste of their bottomless coffee and the fact that they brought me milk with it when I asked (true American style). I also liked the taste of CC's Big Mess which has tons of meat - yum! - My server was friendly and the ambience here is very relaxed. - Real bacon!!! :) Room for Improvement: - I saw one of the servers (not mine) accidentally drop sausages on a woman's coat, getting grease on her coat without the woman knowing. Accidents happen, however, I was astonished to see that the server never said anything to the lady! Eventually I told the lady that she should probably wipe off her coat & she was also disappointed that the server never said a word nor did she bring napkins even though she saw what she did. That's not even a service issue, it's just a human decency issue. - It took a while to get my bill even though I had asked for it a while ago - not a big deal as I just reminded them but don't have expectations of getting the same quality service as in the U.S. (but it's still better service than typical service that I've had in Paris). - The brownie isn't so delicious but it was very nice that they included a yogurt with it in my to-go box. Next time I would probably get pancakes with the formula instead. Overall, I would definitely go back.
