⭐️⭐️ Two Stars for Clean Towels and Cold Water – The Rest? Yikes.
The only reason I’m giving Breathless Punta Cana two stars is because housekeeping showed up every day like clockwork—room cleaned, fridge restocked with water. Beyond that, there’s honestly not much good to say.
We stayed Friday through Tuesday, and Friday and Saturday were downright miserable. I did not expect much from the beach since we already knew that it’s gonna be dirty from the seaweed The resort was overcrowded, service was nonexistent, and it felt like the staff forgot we were there. No one checks on you—unless you count the sunburn from waiting too long for a drink.
By Sunday, things improved slightly—mostly because half the crowd disappeared. We actually booked an excursion on a Monday just to escape the resort for a day, which says a lot when you’re looking forward to a long van ride over staying poolside.
Let’s talk food. The breakfast buffet? Questionable at best. Everything tasted like grease and regret—except for the omelet station, which was the only thing keeping me from losing it before 10 a.m. Dinner wasn’t much better. We tried different restaurants each night and started playing a game called “Name That Buffet Leftover.” Seriously—same food, just with a fancier name and worse lighting.
We ordered tres leches cake for dessert one night and got… a random slice of something that clearly came from the “leftover morning pastries” collection. I get sustainability, but come on. The lunch options were limited: your choices were the buffet or the outdoor grill. I basically survived on soup and hot dogs—yes, hot dogs.
Drinks? Standard all-inclusive fare—watered-down and forgettable—though to their credit, the bar inside the hotel did serve a few decent cocktails at night. A small win.
Some of the staff were genuinely kind, and the property itself has potential, but overall, this was a chaotic, underwhelming experience. If you’re looking for a relaxing, well-serviced getaway, this ain’t it. This was my first time in Punta Cana and I won’t be returning
