Travel Guide to Florida's Charming Longboat Key

"The regional transit network that operates bus and trolley routes across Sarasota County, plus Breeze OnDemand, a curb-to-curb rideshare service using minivans and SUVs that can be ordered via app or phone for up to four passengers, providing alternatives to driving while on the island." - Terry Ward Terry Ward Terry Ward is a writer covering family travel, culture, scuba diving, and more. What's the point of advertising a shuttle capable of whisking visitors to and from airport (SRQ) if the bus never shows up? To make matters more interesting, there's an app you can download to illustrate how long your pretend shuttle will take to arrive at your bus stop. We've wondered why the airport loop bus (#76) always seemed empty - now we know. Many thanks to the 311 operator who suggested we call an Uber. City money spent on this unreliable 'resource' should be repurposed. Maybe buy a horse?

I was driving south on Jackson Rd at 2:55 pm on wed April 30. As I was turning the corner from Border Rd onto Jackson, one of the Breeze buses whipped around me (during the turn) at a high speed. I was driving a wheelchair van. As he was trying to get around me in the middle of my turn he ended up in the bicycle lane with a bike coming at him head on. He had a second to cut his bus in to miss the cyclist. Luckily! He continued at a high rate of speed south on Jackson and I could see that he made a left onto Venice Rd. I can tell you that your company missed a death by one of your drivers by just a second. I hope you find this driver and reconsider his ability to work for you.

Always late!! I can understand a couple minutes but 20 minutes late is unacceptable! Not leaving a station until 7 minutes after you're supposed to be at a stop another 14 minutes away causes people to be late for actual important things like doctors appointments and their job!! If you have to ride the bus for anything other than casually wandering around town I'd highly suggest getting an Uber.

Per Florida Department of Transportation and riding on our transit buses here in Brevard County Florida transit buses are not allowed to be in the turn lane if there is a sign there stating that it's a bus stop that sign should be moved out of the turn lane. In Philadelphia Pennsylvania the transit buses have a designated spot where you get on and it is marked in the road Here in Brevard County Florida we do not have any covered benches to keep our guests who ride our transit system out of the Sun. The transit company I was thinking about was SEPTA transportation in Philadelphia Pennsylvania

Your driver flew past a line if cars waiting in a turn lane on Venice ave. After trying to cut in at the front of the line blocking traffic behind him he proceeded to push his way into my lane push me off the shoulder of the road and finish off with the bird out the window because I blew my horn at him. Here’s the license plate I would suggest retiring this driver as I will be sending video evidence to FHP today also.

Let me start by saying they offer a great service I've been using them since they started which I believe was over 4 years ago. However ever since they were taken over by Breeze they are lacking. If you have to be somewhere at a certain time make sure you call at least an hour to an hour n a half before you have to be there and on Sundays they open at 6am however every time I have called them at that time I get a message that says they are experiencing higher then normal call volume n try again later. During season you get that message all the time so have lots of patience. The majority of the drivers are really nice n I feel bad that they get arguments for being late because it's not their fault. Breeze doesn't seem to have a clue how to schedule trips properly. Oh n if you try to call their customer service please be aware they are not even in the same country as we are so they gave no idea about locations or names of places. On 1 trip I took the driver made 4 u turns n drove fast n then made short stops I was so nauseous, then k had a driver who was on the phone with the radio blaring in the dark and missed my house it was crazy. On the other hand you have drivers that go out if their way for you n are so kind. There's one driver she keeps container of candy in her vehicle for the passengers and they are extremely personable n they remember you n it's nice. So basically you have a 50/50 chance of getting anywhere on time n getting n getting a good driver but I will tell you the good outweighs the bad n yes it gets frustrating but have patience n you'll get to where you're going. Oh one more thing it use to cost $1.25 then went up to $2.00 n now they want to raise it to $4.00 now if this meant the drivers were going to get more money I wouldn't have a problem with it but they are not so I do have a problem with the raise.

I have Never had any Bus Accidents or treated So Rudely and just treated like the Bus Driver was a Better person than me until I came to Sarasota Florida- I have Rode on Buses all over Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, West Virginia, Virginia Kentucky, Tennessee,Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Arkansas and Never had Any Bad Experiences- Only in Sarasota. I have had #4 Bus Accidents from the Bus Drivers Slamming on the Breaks everytime because the Driver wasn't paying attention to Speeding to Tailgating. This has Broke my Lower Back which had to be Removed and I died on my 2nd Surgery also. I am Terminally Disabled from this Bus Company and do You think they care - Not one bit. Tax Payers have had to Pay for my Back Fusion, Emergency Room Visits, Doctor Visits and All my Medication. The Bill for All this is Hitting over 1 Million Dollars if You want to the Real Truth- SCAT / BREEZE Has Refused to Pay for Anything- Not Even Compensation. This has been going on for 12 Years now, and this Year I had #3 of those,#4 Accidents- I Never signed any papers that said RIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK- So why am I ???
