Breezeblock Cafe

We ordered the Meneer Monsieur. One with ham and one with spinach both absolutely incredible with home baked bread crispy and delicious. Eggs done perfectly with lots of mustard cheese sauce. Honestly one of the best breakfasts we have ordered in a while. Sat out in the courtyard which was sheltered from the wind. Will go back for the Smoked Trout Pasta which I remember being amazing too. Such a charming little restaurant stepping back a little in time …

My go-to spot where I'm treated like I'm at home. I often work from here for hours. Amazing space with lots of natural light and a peaceful, calm atmosphere. Q, Andile and Keke run the front and are extremely attentive and caring. The design of the place is lovely too and the security guard outside means I've never had any issue parking on the street. Good food too, of course.

I hosted my 40th birthday here last week and what a joy it was! We have always loved Breezeblock but to be able to have such a special occasion here was truly wonderful. Portia and her team took care of us and our endless questions without hesitation. They were flexible and ready to accommodate all the ideas we had and we didn't have to worry about a thing. From food for kids and adults, to drinks, to cake, to lighting...they did it ALL. And it was very reasonably and fairly priced too. Honestly, it was a dream come true and we had the most fantastic evening. STRONGLY recommend this space to anyone looking to host any kind of event, but also to anyone just looking for a coffee and snack in a beautiful spot.

Hired the cafe for an event and the staff was wonderful. Efficient! Friendly. Very professional and communicative. They willingly changed the entire arrangement on the day and the set up plus cleanup after was fantastically fast. Enjoyed the service of the space, including sound, catering, extra space made available for a creative corner. And the sunny, cosy feel of the venue is a great perk. They don't have parking but provide guards. Lovely experience overall.

I haven’t been here in a while but was driving past so popped in and was sad to hear since the new owner took over a few months ago, the place has not been doing well - for example the cakes were finished 2 days before after an event but the request to restock has not been done. And they only serve pancakes on weekends and holidays but many ask for it in the week like I did. I just had a takeaway coffee as a storm was coming but am sad that next time I pass it may be closed down if this is how it continues…

A blessed return to coffee shops that have real character - no twee Instagram letterboards in sight. All the plants are real (and the succulents in the courtyard are truly splendid) and the staff are so lovely and welcoming. I felt like I had returned to the Melville of my youth - the pressed ceilings, the authentic people, the absence of annoying influencers. Splendid, splendid, splendid 👌

Very lovely coffee shop, has both inside outdoor seating, minimalistic design, and a feel-good vibe. What topped my experience was the coffee art! Made it look spectacular 🙌 the 2 ladies one a the batista and the othe a chef were very friendly and social felt like I belong. Thanks definitely will be a regular here.

Don't go to Melville and definitively do not go to Brixton, there is so much crime there. Well they were the rumours I had heard. I was so surprised at how clean and well maintained the area was and at no point in time did I feel unsafe. Unfortunately the roads in front of the Cafe no longer exist, it looks like a mains water pipe exploded converting the tar road into a dirt road. That being said, the Cafe was a real hidden gem in Brixton. The staff were amazing, even the car guard was amazing. The food was great and the price even better. Their coffee is also amazing. I will be back
