Bregagh House

We loved staying at Bregagh House. The room was great and the breakfast was wonderful. It was central to everything we wanted to see in Kilkenny and really just a short walk around the block to restaurants, pubs and coffee shops and all the sights you’d want to see in Kilkenny. James was a wonderful host and was always ready to answer questions and give directions.| |If you’re going to Kilkenny we’d heartily recommend a stay at Bregagh House.

Our group recently stayed for a weekend in Kilkenny. Great Location. Great Rooms and Great Staff. Especially James who was there to give us a hand. Ideal place to stay.

The location was extremely convenient for walking to the various sites in Kilkenny or driving to surrounding locations. It is on a busy road which was rather loud the first night (Tuesday), but after that it was surprisingly quiet. The curtains did a good job of blocking the street light. Breakfast was good and provided quickly. The room was clean. The biggest drawback was that the room was small enough to not have a good place to put more than one piece of luggage.

Bregagh House was our first stop in Ireland after landing in Dublin, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to recover from jet lag. The room was cozy and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast in the wonderful sunroom the next morning was delicious. After we checked out, we realized we had forgotten some jewelry that had fallen under the nightstand. James was incredibly helpful—he found it and mailed it to our next destination. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a cozy and comfortable stay just a short walk from the town center.

Excellent bed and breakfast near the centre of Kilkenny. Easily walkable to castle and cathedrals alike. Good range of eateries nearby for all budgets.|The staff were very friendly and helpful.|Off road parking was available which we found very useful as we were walking around town for 3 days.

This is a family-run simple and clean B&B, perfectly located for visiting Kilkenny. Owner very friendly, breakfast was fine and could easily and flexibly accommodate our requests. Good value for money. Bathrooms at least in the part of the house we were, would need a bit of renovation but everything was clean.

We made a last minute reservation (thankfully someone had just canceled) for this lovely family owned business. The room was clean, the grounds were impeccably maintained and the included Irish breakfast was made to order. This B&B had parking and was close walking distance to all the Kilkenny attractions. James is friendly and informative. Highly recommend.

Stayed in Bregagh House for two nights with a group of 16 for a hen party. Can't speak highly enough of this accommodation. James and his family we such lovely hosts who helped us with everything, and were so attentive to our needs. Perfect location for walking into town and right beside the Cathedral. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. There is a great garden and conservatory which we could use. Excellent choice for a trip to Kilkenny!
