Bremerton Ferry Terminal

Nice facility although between the hours of 11 am and 3 pm ( because those aren’t hours that anyone would want or need to travel) there is no place for anyone to wait for the ferries except for outside (most likely in the rain) however there is a nice indoor facility that closes in the middle of the day to remind you that your tax money is being being utilized to build these awesome public facilities but that you cannot sit indoors and comfortably wait and utilize these facilities, that you paid for, while waiting for the next ferry even though that’s exactly why the facility was built in the first place? Please keep your facility open throughout the day! I even saw a security guard there, if you are paying a security guard to be there why wouldn’t you keep the facility open?

I enjoy catching the ferry via motor vehicle. We're in Port Orchard so it took 15 mins to arrive. The worker will instruct you which number lane to enter. This location allows foot traffic, bicycles and motor vehicles. One way or round trip. Check the schedule for departure and arrival times. Please arrive at least 20-30 minutes before scheduled departure time. Take a break from tolls and traffic. Yes. We opted for one way from Bremerton to Seattle. Ferry departed and arrived to Seattle on time within one hour. Once you step out with your valuables and lock the vehicle, you're able to walk upstairs, enjoy the view indoors and outdoors. I had fun chillin' outside on a clear day. There were families taking photos of the scenery or groupies. We sat in the first row indoors. Some of our relatives decided to order sandwich, snacks and a beverage. There's also restrooms. If you must, use the restroom in advance before the ferry arrives at the destination to avoid rushing back to the vehicle downstairs and be mindful of others having to leave. Our route was the fast ferry where we go through Rich Pass, you'll see Port Orchard to the right and Bainbridge Island on the left, then make your way to Seattle. Smooth ride.

Thanks for adding toiletries bags to the restrooms and providing trash facilities inside the restrooms!! Much appreciated! This was a long ferry trip about an hour but we saw tons of wildlife from the deck on our way to Bremerton from Seattle. Jellyfish, seal, and a whale. The ferry ride is never disappointing. The puzzles on board to build during the ride was also a fun surprise.

On the way out I could have my alcoholic beverage throughout the cab, on my way back I was followed and harassed by walking to a seat with a cup holder. I ended up throwing out my drink because they were being drink nazis. Grow up. Dont offer drinks if we can't drink them on the boat. Absolutely garbage service. Views were nice but this is also a commuter ferry and well, I live on an island. I'm unamused.

Per the recommendation of my barber, the best way to go to the mariners game was to take the Bremerton ferry. He was not wrong. On a warm, sunny day, the ferry ride to Seattle is half the fun. Depending on if your team actually won the ballgame, the ferry ride might even the best part. There is an alternative fast ferry, which is 30 minutes instead of 50, but that's seems to cater to the commuting crowd because it only runs Monday thru Saturday, excluding Sundays and holidays and any other day that may not have enough traffic. Fortunately, the 50 minutes is not a problem because there are great views the whole way, of the Peninsua and seattle. The only people that had to really work for their tickets were those taking their car. Normal passengers and bikers didn't have a problem. Bikers seemed to have favored access with both cheap tickets and first passengers on and off the ferry.

They crashed the ferry today. Not fun. Also not letting us take our cars or helping us with transportation

What can I say, it's a ferry to take people across a body of water. Clean, on time, indoor seating or stand outdoors. Takes cars. Snack bar. Restrooms leave terminal clean Beats an hour plus drive in traffic

It has been pretty nice taking the ferries back, and forth each time we visit our family in the Gig Harbor area. We take it with them when we want to go into Seattle to go play around for the day. My only disappointment is the ferries I have been on have not had internet service. Other than that it has been a comfortable, and fun ride.

The lady at the toll booth was kind of an asshat, but we ended up deciding to park our car and just ride across. It was kind of a long wait but the area was clean and well kept and it was fun to walk the water front and just explore while we waited. Lots of really fun stuff to do and eat in the area. And the people at the terminal were friendly and helpful. Will be using the ferry service again as it was super fun to just explore the city on foot

If your immunocompromised I would strongly advise against riding the Seattle/Bremerton ferry. They do NOT enforce the mask order nor do they take any steps to sanitize seats after passengers get off and new ones get on. I'm appalled, actually, at how many people took their masks off immediately after getting on board and not a soul said anything to them about it. There were at least 100 people on board and at least 60% were without their masks in their seats. They also do nothing to enforce social distancing prior to departure in the terminal. On the Seattle side People are always literally crammed into a tiny room standing nearly shoulder to shoulder--I always wait outside. I can't believe this is allowed to continue. These were just a few of the people sitting on one level near by where I was sitting. But like I said, when I walked around at least 60 percent of the passangers were unmasked for the duration of the trip!!!

My family took the Bremerton Ferry to Seattle on Black Friday. It was my brother-in-law's idea since it was our first time visiting Seattle, he thought it would be a nice grand entrance into the city. The ride is about 1 hour long. The terminal has several food places around while you wait including a Starbucks and a Subway. On the ferry itself they have a small cafeteria that sells overpriced food like warm pretzels, tater tots, fries, popcorn, chips, soda etc. We had a great time on the ferry with our snacks and we also enjoyed the view! The cost is per car which is around $18 I believe! not bad! You must visit Seattle via ferry if you have the chance!

If you're traveling to and from Seattle via Bremerton, the chances are you're going to utilize the ferry to get you there. A huge plus, it's completely free to go into Seattle itself, you only have to pay on your return visit which is only about $8. There aren't a whole lot of bells and whistles to the building, but they do have a Starbucks, small grocery store a few fast-casual restaurants and a museum adjacent in case you want to grab a quite bite or need to kill some time before the departure date. There's even a dive bar across the street that seems to constantly have a happy hour - it's a no frills spot, but if you want to get slammered before setting sail, you're in luck! Like driving, there's a lot more traffic in the morning hours when people are commuting to work and even more congestion when people are getting off. When the weather is nice, I suggest hanging on the deck - it's partially covered to protect you from the wind, but the views are pretty spectacular when it's warm clear day.

I'm a daily commuter both by bicycle and small vehicle. Sailing from Bremerton to Seattle on foot or bicycle is free, and boarding charges vary for motorized vehicles based on vehicle size. Most folks arrive approximately 20-30 minutes before the scheduled departure, and be sure to plan further ahead if you're boarding the early morning weekday boats. The dock area is clean and maintained, with views of the Puget Sound and Navy Shipyard. Surrounding, there is a small water park, free museum, coffee shops, and quick food options. The WSF ticket sales booth, dock master, and vessel deckhand employees are always happy to engage in charming banter, give a friendly wave, and put a smile on people's faces. Don't miss out on an opportunity to strike up a conversation with them! FYSA: --State laws do not allow smoking or vaping on ferries, and the WSF employees ensure this is strictly enforced. Cravings will need to be addressed prior to boarding the boat, but please be courteous of others in the waiting line. --Line cutting is prohibited and doing so will result in ramifications if you are reported. If you are new to traveling via the ferry systems, please pay close attention to roadway signage to avoid unnecessary churn with the other drivers. --Monitor your surroundings and be on the lookout for suspicious activity. Troubled community members frequent this terminal. Enjoy the ride!

I live in Bremerton and ride the ferry very sporadicly. The Kitsap Transit system does coordinate trips with the commuter runs well. The view from the terminal is beautiful and perfect for sipping coffee while waiting for the boat.

One has only seen two of these public work stations in the state of Wa. And this one is the most advanced, well engineered, and may one say thoughtful?, features this podunck area has ever done for both the cycling "enthusiasts" and those whom live and die by theire machines

I like all of the ferries I've been on in WA state. The Bremerton ferry to Seattle is a 1 hour trip, plus wait time in line to get on/off. If you come over from Seattle, you only have to pay your way once; the return back is free. There are some shops at this terminal to pass the time if the wait is really long.

What a fun experience!! We took the ferry to the Seattle Seahawks game and IT WAS A BLAST!!! Surrounded by fellow Seattle Seahawk fans!! The staff was amazing, the food was great and the beer was cold!!! Beautiful float across the water!! Will definitely be taking this venture more often! The ride back at night was fun too!! Thank you to the whole Ferry system for being so incredible!! 10/10 recommend!!

Ferry is a great option to get to Seattle! Lots of seating on the car ferry. The ferry ride offers great photo ops! Bathrooms are available, they could be cleaned more often. Few vending machines, a snack bar too. The ride takes close to an hour, which is plenty of time to relax, eat, study, sleep etc; I personally like taking it back to Bremerton after a long day of sightseeing, I can nap for a bit! It's inexpensive to ride, and operates from morning to late night.

Just DON'T!! Most UNRELIABLE Public transportation in WA State!! THREE HOUR WAIT, big fun after a 12 hour shift....I opted for a 2 hour drive & clogging up our overwhelmed highways!! Thanks WA State for obviously having a 10 yr old running something as important as WSF.

This is another of those, How can I not have already written a review of this?? reviews. I like the Washington State Ferries. It's one of the best tourist deals in town. It gets you out on the water. You get to see the city from a distance (great photo ops) The interior is basic and food comes from vending machines. I am usually out front taking in the view. It makes for a good picnic spot to. Especially on a nice day when you can be out in the wind checking out the views! Ive taken the ferries many times. Usually I go to Bainbridge Island as its a bit closer. This time we drove to Bremerton and took the ferry across. It was a great choice! We had plenty of time and enjoyed the drive and the ferry wait was just long enough to run to Starbucks (it overlooks the ferry driveway) to get a drink and use the .....facilities. Then on to the ride across which was fun and quick and dropped us off at the waterfront where we stopped for a while.

It is what it is. A public transportation center. Ferry is cool. All the junkies I can do without

Great way to get from Bremerton to Seattle. Sure it will take an hour but it's much better than driving or sitting in traffic for an hour. We drove the car right onto the ferry. No need to set your alarm when leaving your car on the ferry. Many people did and the motion of the ferry set off the alarms! Many announcement were made. It has a cafe. Tons of seating options. Benches, chairs and tables (great for card playing to kill the hour). The outdoor decks are the place to be on sunny days! Next time I'm in Seattle I'm sure I'll take the ferry to Bremerton or vice versa!

I took the last ferry by car at 11:40pm from Bremerton to Seattle on a Wednesday night. I arrived just after 11pm, so I had some time to kill. There were only 2 cars ahead of me. It was dark outside, but the port had flood lights on, so it was easy enough to leave and lock my car to explore. The passenger walk-on traffic had a nice indoor facility to wait in. The restrooms were very clean. There were restaurants like Subway and Starbucks next to the terminal in walking distance, but they were already closed. The only thing open was the 'Drifters' bar. They only sold beer, wine and cocktails. If you are bringing your car, you will need to pay $16.50. Remember to follow the instructions of the port crew, turn off your engine and only use your parking lights.

I commuted from Seattle to Bremerton and back this past week and it was a great experience!! I was a bit nervous going from Seattle to Bremerton because I got there a 10 minutes before the ferry was leaving! Right after I got my ticket and went through the doors they said the ferry was boarding! Phew! Made it! The ferry cost $8.10 for a passenger with no vehicle. A bit pricy for everyday but way better than driving and pretty easy for tourists like me. One thing I was nervous about was if I was getting on the right ferry. There were no signs until literally stepping onto the ferry that said Bremerton. I figured I was going the right way because there were no other ferries or people. But, for a first timer like me, I still was a bit nervous! Thank God it was the right ferry! Whoo! Once on the ferry, I found a seat and started snapping pictures of Seattle! Such a nice view of the city and it was a clear day! One thing I really liked about the ferry was its punctuality. It leaves the dock on time! And I'm a stickler for people and things being on time! Whoohoo! The second time I rode the ferry was in a car! It cost $14.25/car. It was super easy to get on and off. One major plus for me was, not only did they let cars on but bicycles and motorcycles too! Good to know you have all different kinds of options for transportation. Once we parked our car in the lower deck, we went upstairs to sit down and relax. Overall, I had great experiences on the ferry and wouldn't mind taking it again! Much better than driving and being cramped up in the car for hours!

So for the terminal itself, it's a bit old and in need of some TLC. The inside felt a bit dirty and there were a lot of people hanging around that looked like they had no better place to go. It's also a terminal for bus transportation so there are numerous bus terminals outside of the main building. One thing that disappointed me was that I could not find an Orca card terminal to add more money to my card. According to the website, there was supposed to be machines there that would allow me to do this, but I could not find them. I finally found a person to ask but he was behind a small piece of glass (probably for his safety somehow) but it was not very inviting or friendly. So needless to say I didn't ask him. Signs were good telling you where to go.

I'm a pretty big fan of the Washington Ferry system and it's one of my favorite ways to show my friends our beautiful state. The Seattle to Bremerton ferry is a great way to get the most money out of a long ferry ride if you're wanting to kill time. It's the one of the longest ferry rides. You only have to pay a walk on fare as a passenger coming from Seattle to Bremerton, not on your return trip! There always seems to be some sort of maintenance going on and I wouldn't recommend using the restrooms on the ferries, but overall I'm a huge fan. This terminal in particular is great with the indoor area and restrooms and a few local places to eat or grab some ice cream while waiting for the ferry.

Fast clean and friendly. Nice view from the top deck. The food in the galley is pretty good. You can relax for an hour and have a beer.

Great way to get to Bremerton from Seattle. Relaxing and quick. Park your car and relax rather than a tedious hour drive. Beautiful scenery and even a great beer or glass of wine. $13 is worth it for the relaxing trip. Clean too ! The Bremerton port is right next to Anthony's a great seafood restaurant. Arrive park your car and eat excellent seafood. Then walk back to your car for the ferry to Seattle.

Would rate less... Go ahead and blame COVID for.. we'll everything... But, we really know this is really who you are. We know this is who you always have been. I'm angry at myself for believing in you,for relying on you to do what you promised. Month after Month, Year after Year, apprehensively I continue to give you money $206 here $264 there, and never seems to be enough.. Why? What are you giving me?Inconvenient schedules? Late trips? Convenient breakdowns? Or just not showing up on time. It is so very hard, when you make me get up 2 hrs early, for a trip you that scheduled only to have you show up 40 min late... first thing in the morning!! I know, you are always busy I get it. It's hard feeling like you are always going back and forth; never in one place for too long. Just stopping before you have to go again... but, you made a promise.. made a commitment... and you chose this life. I know we don't always get along, but for me, and everyone else who relays on you. COULD YOU JUST PLEASE TRY A LITTLE HARDER. Thanks

This ferry terminal is an hour ride to downtown Seattle. There are restrooms in the indoor waiting area and they also have some classic spots that you can stop at headed to the main terminal or after arriving back in Bremerton. There is a coldstone creamery, a mini mart and a starbucks.

So I live in Bremerton, and commute to the east side on the 4:50 ferry. While taking the ferry is wonderful for a nice getaway, commuting is a different story. I frequently see one of the ticket-takers chatting-up vehicle drivers while other people in the next lane over go through and take valuable spots. I've been the last car on, and the first car on...the next boat. I have no problem with people chatting, but when it comes to me getting to work, and being late because someone is just chatting while the line grows longer...not acceptable. I literally saw people backing up and moving to the other line because this one ticket taker was wasting time. Please WSF, reiterate that chatting with drivers can only be done after they have their pass, AND if there are no other cars inline!

What a fun way to explore the city! We took a drive with friends from their home outside of Tacoma, explored along the coast and took the ferry from Bremerton to Seattle to cap off our day's excursion. So glad to have experienced Seattle from the water. Beautiful scenery. Easy ride. Inexpensive. Such a fun experience!

Easy parking at the terminal for ferry users, not so good for people trying to use the downtown businesses. For people arriving from Seattle they'll find a terminal that is relatively attractive with nearby fountains and a park and a couple good restaurants in walking distance. Compare this terminal to stark environments that greet you at Bainbridge, Southworth, or Kingston, and your appreciation for Bremerton will grow. However, the downtown area of Bremerton is still so oppressively post-apocalypse that it's not worth the special trip, whereas the trip to Bainbridge, despite the poor greeting of the stark terminal, the town will delight visitors in a way Bremerton as a town, alas, cannot. The waterfront portion including the ferry terminal, at least, is something to boast about, but the city itself died many years ago and is a long way yet from its hope of revival.

As far as ferry terminals it services the Bremerton community well, back and forth,to and fro. But not much of a variety when it comes to food,but if your looking for a good dive bar look no farther than across the street,there's a string of them.

Easy to get on and off..beatifull views and smooth sailing...was amaze how the ferry is hauling ass and ride is comfortable. ..beats driving from bremerton to seattle....

Stuck in Bremerton and want to venture to Seattle? In Seattle and want to cruise to Bremerton? BAM - this is your answer. The ferries are always packed during commuter time - so don't try to cross then unless you're 1. working 2. ready to be packed in with a few thousand of your best friends. This is a great way to get from Kitsap to Seattle without the hassle of parking, paying for parking, and reparking when you're time is up. Awesome for game day travel, fun excursions to the Seattle Center, and for your random trips to Seattle. Be prepared to walk a lot if you're a walk on passenger and get stuck in traffic for driving across. While on board the ferry you'll get the feeling of being stuck in a 80's designed vessle that needs some updates. It's not uncommon for all the vending machines to be down, none of the dated video games to work, or to see a couple making out. During the summer there are incredible views from the deck. Nighttime offers a beautiful view of Seattle. Food service is available on the ferry. But since the dining privatized the food quality has diminished greatly and the prices have gone up. They do serve beer and wine though. Ferries are awesome for people watching. Late on a weekend you'll see people crossing for the Seattle bar scene. There will be already buzzed sailors and girls getting dolled up. Game day travellers are always interesting, especially after an epic loss. Sometimes you'll get the teenager going to prom. It does boil down to an hour on a boat without Wi-Fi or a great cell phone signal. Cards are a good way to pass time if you can get a table. Or bring a book. I also recommend taking the time for smooches.

Arrived at 1:50pm hoping to take the Fast Ferry from Bremerton to Seattle at 2:05pm. We were 15 minutes early and told the next ferry would arrive at 3. They gave me the schedule for the normal ferry and didn't bother to give me the fast ferry schedule. Come on people!!!! Learn how to provide customer service or go find a new line of work

Friendly disabled vet helped me out today. The Bremerton terminal consistently has friendly helpful employees that don't make you feel embarrassed about getting the handicap discount.

Not only are the ferries useful and fun, they make for great memories. Sometimes you can see sealife on the trip and the view certainly is worth mentioning: fantastic! The cost is low and well worth every penny.

Ok I have no NEED to take the ferry but on a nice day I will take a little boat ride to Bremerton and see the USS Turner Joy or the Navy Museum AND a few beers at the local tavern before returning. I havent had one bad ride. They have some premium beers on tap so that helps pass the time. .

The cafe staff is straight rude I was standing at the appetite spot to pay and she like get back please I can't do anything with you standing there and got snappy with me when I was kindly trying to tell her I have a popcorn also with the drink I was ordering and I am pretty sure at the end all she charged me twice for my popcorn

The bremerton/seattle ferry is a challenge. I am a regular commuter. The morning 6:20 or 7:20 to seattle have a longer wait time (if you actually want to get on the ferry) than either Bainbridge or Kingston. I have to arrive by 5:55 Monday - Thursday to make it on and I am usually one of the last cars. A lot of walk on passengers that take up all the seating before you ever get and and lay out across the benches to try to sleep. The food is wretched. Never eat the food. But, it does get you there fairly consistently if there isn't fog, or a break down, and the crew shows up, and they don't have some idiot fall off, or.......

I've done a few roundtrips and one-ways between Bremerton and Seattle and these boats always perform. Yes, sometimes the line of cars is long and I have to wait for a subsequent boat to arrive. It's odd doing reviews for both ends of the same boat, but what the heck. I really enjoyed the local craft / farmers market right outside the Bremerton terminal. Lovely stuff was available to look at, although I was there before "opening time" and no one could sell anything. Simple answer - the best way to get across the water.

A nice way top get back to Seattle after time in Olympic National Forest! We made the ferry three minutes before departure time and it cost ~$13 for the car and nothing for individuals this way over. Beautiful way to see the Puget.

The staff here are so wonderful! The woman at the gate stopped to pet the dogs. And later when we parked, a staff member came up and told us to let them know we have dogs before we park next time and they'll make sure to put us in the shade. Surprisingly thoughtful!

I really like being able to live in the suburbs of a giant city, but still have access to lots of fun things to do. Washington State Ferries make that possible. They have several ferries that run from Bremerton starting in the early morning until 12:50 AM (minus Sundays). They also have ferries from other places such as Bainbridge (I'd say their ferries are nicer and the ride is half as long). In addition to going to Seattle, I've taken advantage of the ferry as a way to get to the airport for extremely cheap. The ferry to Seattle is free and then I just pay the $2.75 for the light link rail from Pioneer Square. The Pioneer Square stop is just a few blocks from the ferry and goes directly to the airport. You'd be hard-pressed to find another city that has such a cheap option. Other benefits of the ferry are the beautiful views you get to see of the sound. The prices for walk-ons are also cheap. Like I said before, free into Seattle and then about $8 back (little over $6 per ride if you get a 10-pass). I also really like the select ferries that allow you to sit up top on a beautiful day. Finally, they have tons of booths on board. This has allowed me to take so many naps. There are a few downsides. The ferries are a little outdated. Second, it is pretty expensive to drive a car on ($17 each way). Also, the ferry times aren't always the most convenient. For example, if you miss the 10:30 PM ferry from Seattle to Bremerton, you have to wait until 12:50 AM for the next one. You better hope you don't miss that one as they tend to run on time.....if you do, plan to be stuck in Seattle for about 4 hours. I guess there's nothing they can do about the limited ferry times as the ferry system is pretty expensive for the state of Washington. Things are a little better in Bainbridge as their ferries run longer (past 1 AM) and their ride is about 30 minutes. Overall, pretty good transportation system.

My cousin and I decided to take the ferry on our own for once to Seattle. Both of us weren't familiar with Bremerton or the area where the ferry is so we had to depend on the GPS. In short terms, we got lost. We kept asking directions to where the parking garage but some couple probably misunderstood what we were talking about and led us actually parking our car into the ferry which was not the case. I asked one of the ferry staff where the parking garage was and was helpful but very rude at the same time. He was stating that we turn right where the brown car was and I proceeded to scan for that "brown" car he was talking about but then he snapped and said, " look here. You're not even paying attention." He was saying in such a rude way. Honestly, just trying to find a parking spot was really stressfull... hopefully, I can be more prepared next time.

We loved taking the Ferry from Bremerton to Seattle and back. The Ferry was clean, plenty of room for everyone, restrooms, and a cafe with coffee, snacks, wine and beer. This is by far the best way to get in to Seattle for us as I hate driving the 5 then trying to find parking in a busy city that I'm not that familiar with. You can walk out on the deck and get some great pics on the way or sleep on the booth like some of the commuting locals opted for. Pretty views, and a stress free way to hit Seattle. It took approximately 55 minutes from Bremerton to Seattle. If you board in Bremerton, you don't pay. You pay when you board to return. It was 16 bucks total for 2 of us, round trip, pretty cheap in my opinion. Will do this again without question, enjoy.
