Brennan's Middletown

Stopped by Brennan’s Deli and had the #9 with pork tenderloin and a side of potato salad. The sandwich was excellent — the bread was great and the pork was moist, tender, and full of flavor. I also grabbed a coffee and a brownie, and the brownie was terrific: the perfect balance between cake and brownie texture. Everything was really enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit.

I could smell the food before I walked in and it smells delicious!!! The food is great, the staff is friendly and outgoing!!! The building both inside and out is clean and well maintained. Every time I drive by there I feel compelled stop.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had something from here, and I don’t know why! I ordered a “Build Your Own” sandwich for lunch yesterday and it was amazing! Fresh and tasty bread, a very generous portion of meat, and just the right amount of toppings! I will definitely be ordering from here again very soon!

I don’t usually post bad reviews especially for a place that I’ve been going to for 12+ years but the experience I’ve had at the Red Bank location is worth sharing for potentially the Owners to become aware of the lack of customer service and communication skills from the people working behind the counter. There’s a target audience that this place attracts and the employees must be selectively picked to make sure they’re able to communicate with a customer and are able to differentiate the communication style between at home and their jobs. With the growing competition, I don’t see any “Deli” surviving a bad customer service with disrespectful employees in this day and age.

Got #8 and man was it good!! Homemade cookie hit the spot as well. But of a line but went fast!

Normally I order their Liverwurst sandwich, #20 and have never been disappointed. However I wanted to try their Philly cheesesteak just to gauge how well they make theirs compared to others. Sadly, it was the driest cheesesteak I’ve ever had. Plenty of steak but not enough cheese integrated to compensate. See photos. The sesame bread was ok, not crispy for texture. The ultimate cheesesteak is not found in Philly but by Chef Jose Andres in DC who uses a Banh Mi type bread for texture and caramelized onions. The major drawback to a Philly Cheesesteak is there’s no texture at all. If you ever had a Banh Mi Vietnamese Roll, you will be blown away with the complexity of flavors and texture. I’m surprised given their sandwiches are usually well received by my coworkers who order #10.

For my first time here, I didn’t expect getting a hand squeezed sandwich, I mean, it was almost like they were mad to make my food and clearly it shows.

This location has beef open for a while now but I've never been here. I know Brennan's in Rumson is a fine establishment so I had no doubt this would be anything less than excellent. It's Saint Patrick's Day weekend and I was craving corned beef and where else would you go but Brennan's. The hand carved corned beef sandwich was the special today and it's terrific. The place is nice, lots of food choices and a busy staff that's second to none. I highly recommend this place.

Having moved nearby recently I'm thrilled to discover the Brennan's brand. It reminds me of my beloved Millburn Deli, right down to multiple locations. I haven't has anything that's less than very good, and most is better than that!

Just had our Daughter's 40th birthday party catered by Brennans in Middletown. Antonio helped me with the menu. I had 35 women for lunch and the food was fantastic and delicious. Wouldn't hesitate to use again. Thanks, Beth Fischbein

A great deli. I frequent the Rumson and Middletown stores, great meals, sandwiches, soups & deserts.

Excellent service and food. Sandwich was very fresh. Will definitely return. Seating area outside was set up nice

Constantly gets food order wrong. If you order more than one sandwich check to see if they did it right. At least 4 times they got my order wrong. I live close by but I'll make a longer trip because of their incompetence

I went there Today for the 1st time period The places very clean . I ordered a number 4 Turkey on a roll with a small chili no onions no cheese. The staff was friendly... The bread was very good, the Turkey was overcooked and dry, the lettuce was shot. Chili was just plain no real flavours. Not worth $18.50 I paid for lunch

WOAH. This place (Middletown) has some SERIOUS flow issues happening. You order on one side of the room at the deli counter, get a paper receipt and then turn around and pay across the space at the register. After paying you wait helplessly in the middle of the deli (with no clear place to situate yourself that isn't wildly in the way or weirdly far from the deli counter) having no idea when your food will be ready. It was crowded, a deeply confusing and frustrating purchasing situation for many of the patrons. Two sandwiches took forever and were only received after waiting a solid 15 minutes and then complaining. Hands down most thoughtless layout/poor design of a deli I have ever seen. Also, vegetarian sandwiches were inexplicably expensive, super GROSS, a total afterthought add-on to an overall meat centric menu. Get with the times and add some thoughtful plant based options. Left the location frustrated, ended up tossing two sandwiches and a gnarly bean salad ($26, sup!) in the trash. Will never ever go again.

Still great sandwiches, still highly likely to get order wrong. Oh well, glad we checked before we left.

Great place and they absolutely live up to their reputation. Everything from coffee to specialty sandwiches are top notch. I try to stop anytime I am in the area.

Brennan's has great prepared salads for the beach or lunch, quality prepared foods. Prices are a little high but the quality is there. Bread is to hard for sandwiches and wish they used shredded lettuce.

For every 5 orders at least 1 is screwed up. Food is good but they need to pay better attention to online orders

One of the best delis at the Jersey Shore! Super quaint with plenty of options, from signature sandwiches to donuts & desserts... eat on the porch or the quiet back patio! Friendly efficient staff! Perfect stop on 35 on your way into or out of Red Bank! Highly recommended

Placed a last minute order for a platter. They were very accommodating and nice. And of course the sandwiches were a hit!

There's never been a meal that disappointed. Staff is friendly and quick service. Loving the new outdoor patio setup!

So happy Brennan's opened another location in Red Bank. Their sandwiches are the best. They have so many great, unique combos and the freshest ingredients. All of the prepared foods and salads look delicious as well, can't wait to try them all. Super friendly staff and lots of great little desserts, muffins, etc. on top of all their yummy deli items. I'll be visiting often and working through their menu!

They make a good sandwich though a little pricey-they serve what could be the saltiest potato salad in the area.

Awesome close by ; our favorite . Great staff and food. Rotisserie chickens are fantastic too. Coffee could be better in MT and Rumson.

I can"t say enough about the service at Brennan"s, Chef Roy and his staff made gluten, vegan, and regular sanwichwes for my party. Every sandwich was a big hit. They made sure that each platter was aesthetically pleasing and delicious!

Place is great. Sandwiches are always awesome, people who work there are super pleasant. It's a relatively small sandwich shop, some outdoor seating. They have great gluten free rolls and wraps. Fantastic place to grab a sandwich or more and lots of sides. Awesome catering as well!!

Unorganized and chaotic. Online orders vs. in person orders. No signs, other people complaining of the same wait. Order took over an hour.
