My sister and I spent the third night of our mini vacation here at Brentwood.
I really enjoyed some aspects of the resort, such as the bathroom. With it's heated floor tiles, multi-headed shower, and jetted tub, it was pure luxury. The room size was very large, and the balcony would have been great, but I was assigned the room on the sub-level with walk out right near the pool. For fear of possible voyeurs, I had to have my drapes pulled most of the time. This really didn't prove to be much of a problem, because the sub-level rooms did not have much of a view to speak of anyway.
The fireplace was a nice feature, but I did not use it. My sister, who had an upper level room mentioned that the black leather recliner chairs were very comfortable, but I had not sat in them personally. Having just spent two nights in Victoria at Abigail's, where the bed, linens, and pillows were to die for, I was very disappointed with Brentwood's choice in these matters. The sheets had almost a satin feel, and I spent the whole night going between too hot and too cold, the linens not letting my body breathe. I found the bed to be a little too firm, but some people like that, so it is a matter of taste.
It seems to be common now to have an in-room Kureg, but you will not see me complaining, I love this feature. Even better was the fresh cream in the little mini-fridge, as opposed to the standard powdered creamer you usually find in hotels.
A special belated birthday present from my sister to me was a spa treatment. I looked over everything they had and settled on the Essence of Life Signature Massage. Oh, if I could have halted time itself to repeat that 90 minutes over and over I would die a happy person. Bliss.
We ate at both restaurants, the pub grill and the dining room. Both were pretty decent, if a bit pricey. One small note is the Dynamite Roll sushi was fantastic! I saw it on both menus, but had ordered it at the pub.
After lunch at the pub we decided to take a walk around the bay area, but were a little sad to see that there really was nothing to walk around. There was a very small "beach" and a small pier to walk out on, but after about 10 minutes, we headed back. I wish there had been some more walking trails nearby.
Wouldn't mind coming back, but I prefer the city of Victoria myself.
