Only came for the gondola right, which was fun! We came later in the day so the top wasn't open (for food or drinks), which is why I'm only giving 4 stars instead of 5. Not their fault, but can't speak to what I don't know. The gondola ride was great, the views were amazing, and we had an awesome time.

Google
Beautiful location. Very expensive and has lost its family friendly experience from Omni. We appreciate the response but want to be clear tp readers that our review was not based on a singular experience. Skiing and golf are very nice. View from the hotel porch is great but are 2 cocktails and pre-made Bubba burgers worth $90? Neither do we...

Do not go unless you are able to ski blues right off the bat or ski regularly. I'm out of practice and wanted to warm up with some greens and called it quits after 3 runs. Tickets cost to much to justify going to learning area which was a glorified hill. Honestly would not recommend for anyone but regular or decent skiers. If a blue is a challenge for you don't waste your money go somewhere else.

My daughter and I went skiing here and she ate chicken tenders at the Lucy Crawford Food Court. She woke up the next morning with mild food poisoning symptoms. Everyone else in our family was fine. The only difference between our meals was the chicken. I know these are trying times, but $42 for 4 tenders, 1 plain hamburger and a small fry is absolutely insane. They have a captured audience and not ashamed to gouge because of it. Skiing was pretty decent on what was groomed, however it was only partially groomed because they were trying to preserve the snow (presumably for the weekend; we were there on a Wednesday). That pretty much left green circles and people who have no patience with beginners were close to running into my daughter enough times to count on two hands. Not cool.

Google
First all it was very beautiful ski location and love the overview from the top of hill. Yes it very expensive but it was totally worth because so many ski trails to go on, different variety area challenge, and the foods were good. They have one awesome lift that keep you inside instead lift chair. It will take 7 minutes ride to top and hold 6-8 people. I like the ideas to place ski outside of lift except poles or snow boarding. I really love all trails and couldn’t pick one favorite trails. One of trails call Aggassiz; it was one of the most bumpy trail I ever go on. The food and drink seem ok price but it petty expensive. I order good Going Ham and you can have variety sauce to put on your sandwich. The sandwich was excellent! It is very long and steep trail. I really have a really blast time to come here and good experience. I highly recommend to any Ski Tourist to come here.

Google
My family and I love the entire Bretton Woods property all year round, from the gorgeous pastoral setting with stunning mountain views, to the many activities and amenities they offer. The ski mountain is in our opinion the best all-around with the best variety of trails for everyone, snowmaking, grooming, multiple lifts and gondola, glades, etc. Plus, the staff are extremely helpful and kind, they return year after year, and they bring so much to the atmosphere of the community. The nordic/xc trails from the summit are incredible too, and non-skiers can ride the gondola up to the summit to grab a bite at the restaurant. Check out the tubing hill too, it’s a fun one! The golf, horseback riding, spa, restaurants, game room for the kids, and so much more, I could go on and on… we can’t get enough. :)

Google
It's silly that this is listed as a hotel when the Mt Washington hotel has its own entry. Skiing is good. Trail ratings seem a little high (a black diamond is not as hard as other places black diamonds). Overall a little less steep than many mountains in the area but can have good skiing. Stunning views of Mt Washington on a good day. Updated review to Bretton Woods response: place type includes 'rooms' rating. None were found so rated ⭐

Yelp
Everything about the mountain was just alright, besides the staff. The staff was beyond rude and disrespectful. I was skiing Monday 1/20/25 and arrived around 7:30 I was walking up to the gondola around 8 and they built a maze to walk around but there was another path to access if you didn't want to walk around in arbitrary circles for no reason. As I'm approaching the gondola that has absolutely no line and no one around an overweight clown in his 50s or 60s starts screaming at me that only club members don't have to walk around and threatening to pull my pass, excuse me, I'm paying to be here. I let this clowns disrespect slide the first time and go get some turns in. When I return to the gondola there is a group of 4 young gentlemen who this guy and the other lifity was again screaming at (one gem was (this place is for the club and your not in it), excuse me we are guests paying to be there)(again those four were the only people at the gondola) I walked through the arbitrary maze and these dude again starts screaming at me. The group and I told him to chill out stop power tripping and learn to treat and talk to paying guests with respect. After this they took down the arbitrary maze. Maybe they could have focused on fixing their crowd flow issues instead of harassing their lifeblood (the paying customers) no wonder nobody is going to pay thousands of dollars to skip a non-existent line at a ski resort that is never busy anyways. You guys are just pushing away the people that are actually supporting your mountain by trying to restrict access to your paying customers. Act like elitist scum and make skiing exclusive and you will lose. Why are all your lift operators bitter old men in their 60s that just like to ruin everyone's ski day?

Yelp
Skied, err should be more like skated the slopes on Sunday 2/11. Should have gone with my gut instinct and stayed home for the day after the 60-deg temp on Saturday and very hard freeze overnight Sunday, the slopes were either groomed way too early or not at all and froze into a sheet of ice; many slopes with signs Not Groomed. But NO warning at the ticket sales counter when you're dropping several hundred $$$ for lift tickets. Groomers should have waited as late as possible to groom to break-up cobble-sized chunks of ice that had formed overnight...dangerous conditions IMHO. it was barely manageable and not fun. Next time I would expect to see a WARNING that conditions were far below acceptable and the inherent risks too high and not worth the purchase price.

Yelp
The ski lodge restaurant (Switchbacks) is worth the trip up the mountain side. We had a super nice server and food was great! Definitely recommend the mushroom baguette with the cashew sauce.

Yelp
Used to be our favorite family vacation spot. The one thing that hasn't changed are the prices... but the quality is beyond horrible. I had an earring vanish from my room... No follow up... the Spa - don't bother. The spa doesn't know how to do basic mani/ pedis... no cuticle cleaning or proper toenail cleaning. The girl that did my mani kept looking at her watch. I finally asked her if I was inconveniencing her and she laughed & said she had another appointment and wanted to get out early. Lastly - CHECK YOUR BILLS... THEY ADD A 20 - 40% fee on everything.., when asked they lie ... the manager of the Spa lied stating some story about how this fee can't be removed and it has nothing to do w gratuity ... BrettonWoods has lost my business.

Yelp
We love BW and have been season pass holders for at least four years. However, we had a problem yesterday. My wife is immunocompromised. We wanted to use the gondola without others on board. The first two times up, no issues. When asked by others whether they could join us, we explained why we'd rather go up alone. No issues. Then, as we got on for the third time, a couple jumped the line and charged into our gondola. A nasty argument ensued. There was no attendant available for us to share our wishes on riding alone. This was not the first time there has been on attendant. I suppose the cold lured the attendant into the lift house. Management, none of us like how we need to alter our patterns of behavior due to Covid. As a major employer, and a major service provider, please set the proper example.

Yelp
Had an awesome lunch after taking in spectacular views on the gondola ride up the mountain! Highly recommend the mountain margarita and citizens cider. Our server Jordan was attentive and able to provide recommendations. I had the switchback salad with goat cheese and heirloom tomato, the dressing was light vinaigrette which was lovely's from complemented the goat cheese. I added chicken, which was a bit dry and was cold; the other option is salmon which I may have chosen had I known the chicken was cold. My husband had the chicken curry wrap with fries was delicious! Overall great experience!

Yelp
waist of time for the tubing for kids!! they should not even advertised tubing!! your three year old will be bored with it!!! totally false advertising!!!! go and see for yourself and don't say I didn't warn you!!!!

Yelp
Socially distanced tables in the lodge For you to change into your cold weather gear. They encourage you to put your items in your vehicle or to put them in cubbies and window ledges outside to avoid spreading germs. The restaurant in the lodge is also open for sit down dining. I was very impressed with their social measures. And it was also comfortable as a guest. The previous day I had went to look where the lodge was closed.

Yelp
I have been skiing here for years. I got a season pass and a two month long condo rental this year so I could ski all the time. The cons. First off I paid 1079 for the white mountain super pass. I'm supposed to get a discount in the general store in the basement of the lodge at Bretton Woods. But that depended on the employee working there. So some times I did not get a discount because she said "the white mountains super pass is not accepted here" wut?! Also I was supposed to be able to get a discounted lift ticket once per day. A very rude woman from Costa Rica would always give me a hard time when I wanted to get a discounted lift ticket and would try to make my friend pay full price. Super annoying especially when you buy this ticket so you can have the perks that are listed on the Bretton woods website. But the other employee was awesome and never gave me an issue. Another thing was the ticket scanners. I skied almost every single day from January 2 to Feb 19. Even on days where there are 30 other people on the mountain they still would Impede my entry to the lift to scan my pass. I have had over a dozen season passes at different mountains in the past 10 years and have never found pass scanners this anal retentive ever. Seriously I ride the lift 30 times in a day. Do you really need to freaking scan me in each and every time? It's funny because my friends with day passes almost never got scanned. Just myself and other season pass holders. Super strange and a waste of my precious time Weekends can be super crowded with novice skiers who flounder about like lost kids at the movie theater (like every other mountain on a weekend) The parks are lacking despite all the snow we got this year. Build bigger jumps please. None of the employees would give a straight answer when asked about the gondola not being finished. The pros. Like most ski areas it's a ghost town on week days. The glades are top notch. The grooming is fantastic. The lift operators are super friendly and personable and even though they would scan me to an obsessive point were still friendly. Awesome views of Mt washington and the presidentials. Great skiing. Theres a Chutters up top! So many glades!

Yelp
What a wonderful experience... with just some minor deficiencies. The positives: 1) superb facilities... comparatively spacious... obvious design superiority... lots of convenient power outlets. 2) top of the mountain Candy Shop! 3) well thought out traffic flow on foot and with cars. 4) wide slopes and excellent lift equipment So what were the deficiencies observed? 1). Staff and the lift operators were business oriented... less friendly. Only ONE lift operator waved. 2). Food prices on property were about 30-40% higher then comparable ski resorts. 3). The men's restroom had a nasty stench that was not addressed throughout the day? Do they have anyone servicing it? Checking with any concern for an obvious deficiency? So overall... I really liked the facilities but it fell short in ways which could be corrected if the kept their eye on ball.

Yelp
Bretton woods this place is amazing. it's like the mountain is in a snow globe, I swear everytime I come here it's snowing and the trails are just simply perfect. Got to try out the new 8 person gondola today which just took this mountain to a whole new level. I would say this mountain is perfect if your a first timer or still learning how to ski or snowboarding now that doesn't mean there's not plenty for the more experienced riders.

Yelp
Busy weekend in the woods, snowed all day, just got better and better! Quick lift lines, happy people! Found the goods in the woods!

Kimberly B.

Yelp
Stopped for lunch at the top and was charged $30 for 2 cups of soup and 2 small bottles of water. I completely understand a nominal mark up after covid but $30 for 2 bottles of nestle water and 2 small cups of soup is simply outrageous. Note to self and others - pack your own lunch and any snacks!

Yelp
I took my children here during my family vacation to Bartlett and I have to admit I was very pleasantly surprised. I have a child with special needs and I was hesitant to bring him to this excursion. My autistic stepson absolutely loves thrill rides and I knew he would love zip lining. My biggest concern was the acceptance and patience of the staff. I could not have been any more surprised than I was. I believe this establishment has been the most accepting of my stepson than any other place. They listened to my direction in how to approach and teach my stepson. They all communicated with each other to stay on the same page. They made accommodations to slow me to help him get prepared for the zip line...these people just stepped up. My mother, who has not had a lot of public event experiences with my stepson like this one, even noted how amazing the staff was with my autistic stepson. Other great parts of this day was that the equipment was well maintained, the safety precautions adhered to and the staff was just FRIENDLY! This place is obviously geared towards skiing but this summer time fun experience left a very positive lasting mark on myself and my family. I would recommend them to anyone traveling the area in the summer or winter!!!

Yelp
For the two people who haven't skied Bretton Woods already - it's good. Not perfect. But what place is perfect? On the good side: The Learning Quad (a teeny chair that serves a really gentle bunny hill) is an excellent spot for beginners. Up higher, you get breathtaking views of Mount Washington and wide, rolling groomers with plenty of places to kick things into high gear. I found some really fun blues, just challenging enough for an old lady like me. There's a candy shop at the top of one lift, a restaurant at another. And bathrooms! At the top of one lift there was a port-a-potty and there's actual bathrooms near one of the lifts that's halfway up. This is brilliant, and I'd almost give BW five stars for that alone. The lodge is nice and the ski shop is excellent. Why four stars and not five? There's an unloading area at the top of Bethlehem that is absolute bedlam when it's at all crowded. People coming off the top are running along the back - and fast. People coming off the chair are coming in sideways, and there's trails in three directions - so people skiing in three directions. There's a mid-way chair but you have to ski downhill and to the right - when others are skiing straight and lefts at the same time. And the trail just under this area is steep (only for a second, but still), it's kind of nuts. Still and all, it's a fun place. I think a little organization might make it better, but maybe the danger zone is part of the challenge for some folks.

Yelp
My son has been taking skiing lessons there for several years. They are very disorganized and are unwilling to help children with mild disabilities stay with their age mates. They kept moving my son down to the lowest levels despite his age and height. I'll find a more disability friendly place for my child.

Yelp
This is one amazing location. Yes, it's am Omni resort location which is a niche for a congenial, upscale, and comfort-seeking clientele. And it amply covers these caveats. On the other hand, it has plenty of challenge for the adventurous while being extremely family friendly and customer oriented. Even as Momma Nature has been busy with her spoiled brat "El Niño" and has had little time to devote to blessing us with abundant snowfall, Bretton Woods has been quite busy making up the difference. Grooming was exemplary and the open trails abundant. We had stayed at the Notchland Inn and skied here on our way back home, arriving just after breakfast. We had a wonderful day skiing just about every open trail available. We had little to no wait at each and every lift. And to top it off, as the clouds and fog were coming in and out, the scenery of the imposing Mt Washington Hotel with the mountain background was monumental. The smile on the resort's staff and their congeniality more than made up for adverse weather.

Yelp
According to America's Best & Top Ten (www.americasbestonline.net), Bretton Woods is ranked the 4th Best Ski Resort in the Eastern United States and offers the second best beginner trails in the nation. Those are some really great honors, but that really blows if you're not a n00b and/or a snowboarder... Nearly two feet of snow had graced New Hampshire in the 24 hours that had lead up to my visit at Bretton Woods and I was excited to get on the mountain and plow through all of that fresh untouched powder... I could not have been more disappointed if Ed McMahon was knocking on my front door and punking me! It was like Houdini decided to run all over the mountain and perform his extraordinary vanishing acts on all of the snow that had just dropped... The runs were groomed to the packed powder base - "WTF!" - I screamed to myself, why would you do that!!! I wanted to tie a rope around my neck and jump off the chair lift as I thought to myself, "I slept in Baltimore/Washington International Airport overnight for this $*#%???" I was ready to quit in the first hour but discovered "The Woods" of Bretton and found myself in the depths of fresh pow nestled among the trees of New Hampshire. The wooded runs were epic! I was going insade with giddiness to be playing in the pow and running through the trees... Simply amazing!!! As I broke for lunch, I stared at the mountain, ruminating on the remarkable runs I had just conquered, turned to my friends and said, "This was worth spending the night in an airport for..."

Yelp
Came up to Bretton Woods on a mid-March weekend. The winter this year blew, so half the trails were closed. Still from what we had available, the variety was good. I won't fault them on our winter. I still had a great time. I had a new pair of skis and needed the bindings mounted. I was able to have them done quickly in the repair shop for $30. I liked the variety of trails. A lot of very wide open terrain and the ones that stretched around the sides were scenic, within the trees. If you are into blues and greens, you will like it here. My husband does blacks but wasn't too impressed with what was left open. The mountain wasn't as high as we thought. They are very wide with a 1500 vertical. That is fine with me, though if you want more ski time, nearby Cannon has less acreage but a 2180 vertical. The food in the restaurant was really tasty and not too pricey for a ski lodge. Everyone we came across was very nice all over the mountain. There is a lot of outdoor sitting space to eat and hang out while watching others come down. The scenery is beautiful. You are surrounded by snow capped mountains in all directions. I hope to go back next year and catch them with all the trails open.

Yelp
Bretton Woods is a nice resort with excellent views. There isn't a lot of expert terrain, but it's great for intermediate and beginner skiers. They seem to have plenty of other activities too, such as a zip line and mini-snowmobiles for the kids. (jealous) We went on the Sunday of President's Weekend and the lift lines were small. On average, only a couple of minutes. As you might expect, the hi-speed quads at the bottom had the longest lines, but those weren't bad either - maybe 10 min or so. We were worried about wind, but as they state on the website they have only closed 10 days out of 5000 (and counting) due to wind. It was cold though! Dress warm.

W K.

Yelp
Mixed bag here.. Usually the grooming is good Usually the staff is friendly They do not offer great food choices and the food prices are the highest around Has become way too crowded Wish there were more choices for food/beverage/coffee/lodging in the area besides Omni stuff

Greta B.

Yelp
Not all it's cracked up to be. Trails weren't in optimal condition due to lack of snow this Sunday 2/4 and the whole side with the glades was closed! Only thing I liked was the candy shop at the top of the mountain.

Yelp
My son who is 4 had a lesson with the ski school and they left him unattended at the top of the hill along with one other kid for at least 20 minutes. This was extremely disappointing as all 3 of his instructors were at the bottom of the hill. Instead of trying to get him down, one of the instructors, Sarah, decided to argue with my wife and I. While Bretton Woods pride themselves as a family friendly place, I am hoping that the ski school would do something about their safety protocol.

Yelp
Out of all the places i have snowboarded this is by far my favorite place for a couple reasons. Trails are amazing, well maintained, and if you can hit a powder day is like riding on clouds. Prices are pretty good, this place wasn't cheap but they had a deal running when i was up for the day. Well worth what i split with a buddy. Bought my favorite snowboarding hoodie here, got an employee discount for taking my shirt off for the girl working behind the counter, I'm no brad pit, but I'll take it off to save some serious cash. If there glads are open hit them up, there nice not to hard, just watched out for BFGs and LFGs

Yelp
We took advantage of the Free Scenic Chair Lift - that's so great. We were welcomed by the hostess who gave us our tickets - she gave us trail maps and made recommendations without being pushy. Love it! We enjoyed the ride, the view - all staff were friendly. The trail was great- not too long, some steep parts but not dangerous. At the end, we could only see fog, but we had a snack and played catch and by then the view was clear. We stopped in at the restaurant before heading down. We weren't hungry but decided to split a brew. We were greeted upon walking in. And the bartender was great to let us taste a couple to help us choose - Tuckerman's Brown was yummy! Thanks Lat 44 and thanks Bretton Woods - you also brought us to a place we had not yet explored... BEAUTIFUL PLACE - even when it rains. We found some nice stops - see the flumes, see some falls (Ripley Falls was awesome), and the train went by and friendly people waved to us :) We didn't do anything else at Bretton Woods because we have done some of these activities before and were looking to do new things this trip, but there's lots of great stuff to do here for everyone and the prices are reasonable.

Yelp
I took a learn to ski class yesterday. I paid $101 which also included rentals ($15 extra for helmet), and all day access to the bunny slope. I was kind of annoyed I had to pay extra for a helmet since the employees working the rental counter seemed to be giving them away to anyone who asked without checking to see who paid. My class was an hour and a half. There were 6 other people in the class ranging in age from 16 to 40ish. I had Ed for an instructor and I found him to be horrible, wound up learning more from my fellow beginner classmates than him since he was unable to provide useful feedback. I thought putting us in a chairlift in the first hour of class before we had a chance to get some good practice was inappropriate as well. I wound up having a hard fall at the top of the lift and the employee up at the top of the lift seemed pretty annoyed with me for falling. It was nice that Ed invite my entire class to return for the 1 PM class, but I honestly had enough of him. If I wasn't traveling with friends who took time to help teach me more thoroughly in the afternoon, I probably wouldn't be interested in ever trying skiing again. Besides my experience with the lesson, the lodge itself was very nice and clean. My friends and I enjoyed yummy nachos for lunch and i had an adult hot chocolate that really helped calm my nerves. The service in the lodge was excellent. I also loved the view of Mount Washington.
google avatar

Yelp
Any ski resort which allows free access to a Quad which access a couple of trails for beginning skiers gets an A+ in my book. There are lots of ski mountains in the area, but Bretton is definitely my favorite. We have come back here year after year and have never had a bad experience.

Yelp
Bretton Woods is a FUN mountain!!! We skied for two days straight and had a great time overall. On day 1: the conditions were decent. It was on a Friday with no crowds and no lines. The weather was chilly, somewhat windy and snowed the entire day. On Day 2: the conditions were undesirable. High winds and snow made it almost impossible to see. The crowds were heavier, therefore the lines for the lift were longer. The lodge was jammed packed all day long, so getting something to eat was lengthy. However, overall, the mountain had a great variety of trails to chose from, both on and off piste. The staff was very pleasant and assisted us in everything we needed. It is a bit pricier than other resorts, but you get great service and a good mountain to ski on. Last but not least, the atmosphere was outstanding. If you go, check it out on a weekday, sit back and relax, and you'll see what I'm talking about;)

Yelp
Well, it's been three years since I was here on my second snowboard sesh of my life. This past weekend we scored pre season lift tickets for 20.00 and found bliss. There were limited runs but what trails were open were in great shape. Stellar views and a really chill vibe. The lifts were swift with detachable quads. No lines no stress. Tissues in the lodge, plenty of shelves for gear and bags. The food hall was pretty limited but we brought a lot of our own snacks so it was not a huge issue. The blues are super easy as are the greens. No blacks open today due to pre season conditions.

Yelp
i don't ski. We'll start with that. My room mate convinced me to go skiiing for a day at Bretton Woods... he's 62 years old, and a master quadruple black diamond skiier... It's important to start with the outfit. I had never gone skiing, therefore i had no idea what was "in..." My room mate gave me a grey and hot pink onesie... with matching hot pink gloves. It fits me perfectly, my ass looks awesome, and i'm ready to go... little do i know... So we get to Bretton Woods... and start walking, with his skiis up to the lodge... and i zip my onesie up to my neck... (I'm starting to get some looks)... but he swears he wears that onesie every year... so it must be okay.... I get into the rental line, and i start to look around, and i start to realize... NO ONE is wearing a onesie. Snow pants and ski jackets... that's what everyone is wearing... all in blues and browns and blacks... absoluty NO hot pink... Not only this, but EVERYONE is looking at me and talking amongst their groups about my outfit... a little too loud... i mean after all it IS a hot pink onesie... I freak out a little bit... I finallly get over my phobia... and I go a few runs on the baby slopes with my tiny beginner skiis... and my room mate convinces me to go a run on an "easy" trail... so I do it... I fail at first, and I nail it the second time... We go again, and our fellow lift riders (teenage snowboarders) shove us to the right as we get off the lift, and we end up on an advanced trail... my second time off the bunny slopes. I fell. So many times. Over and over. Skiis over my head. Pulling a million muscles. I swore. I was pissed off. But i kept putting those damn skiis back on. And i kept going. And i made it all the way down. Finally we go home, and I'm hurting for four days in a row... and a couple months later he shows me some pictures of his ski trip to Utah back in 1980.... guess what he was wearing in those pictures??? Yeah.. you got it... the hot pink onesie. Bretton Woods was a great ski resort.... I think ( I wouldn't know... I'm inexperienced)

Yelp
My boyfriend and I took the canopy tour at 12:30 today with rob and Todd. Updated courses since I've been over three years ago. Funny and educational. Making us feel safe and having fun every moment. Can't wait to visit in the winter !

Yelp
Bretton Woods is famous for its cross-country ski trails, but it's also rather underrated when it comes to downhill skiing. The downhill area won't excite too many experts, but it is a great place to go with a family or beginner or intermediate skiers, or simply want to have a mellow day on the slopes and enjoy some of the greatest views in New Hampshire. The downhill ski area is surprisingly big, with some very long trails, so there is quite a variety of trails here. And it is certainly more family-friendly and laid back than some of the more popular ski areas in New England. Definitely a place worth checking out, unless you are looking for extreme challenges in the slopes.

Yelp
I thought this place was great for someone of my experience level. The trails were as groomed as they can get with plenty of snow machines to make up for a slight lack of fresh snow. They have bumps and dips which are fun and become more fun as I got better. I would go back to this place and don't think I'd ever outgrow this place as it is a nice mix of fun trails and challenges.

Yelp
Careful when booking ski and stay packages! Somehow when you add the triple A discount it changes the package. We ended up paying for tickets and got a huge run around to get refunded. The room was ok and the people are nice.

Yelp
Perfect for beginners and intermediate skiers. They have some wide and fairly gentle slopes there, as well as a decent number of tougher trails, including some glades. The children's program (starting at age 4) is really good, particularly once the kids get past the beginning stages. Their prices are quite steep (tickets and food), but you can bring your own food and by their tickets in advance through ski NH to lower your cost.

Yelp
I'm not sure where the best place to leave this review is (there seems to be some confusion between Bretton Woods / Mount Washington Resort / Omni Hotels).. So let me start by saying that this is for the Nordic Ski Experience at Bretton Woods. I tried snowboarding once when I was in high school. That's about as far as my winter weather outdoor activities go (if you don't count snowball fights). After years of avoiding new winter sports (primarily because hey, it's expensive, and I've never been entirely confident of my ability to stand upright on any sort of planks in the snow) I was outfitted with some cross country skis that fit, and invited on a weekend getaway to the White Mountains. We showed up with a group of 10 people and, while there was a bit of a backup at the ticket counter, the staff was pleasant and we all got day passes ($21) complete with tickets to a special chocolate tour - $10 extra - that was happening that day. For someone who had never ever skied before, I had a really great time. The trails were groomed nicely, with grooves that helped the less advanced skiers move along a little more easily. We were all supplied with trail maps, that allowed the pros to venture off on some of the more adventurous trails while I made my way along at the tail end of things. Tails were well marked, the weather was awesome, and despite wiping out pretty often, I enjoyed nearly 4 hours of skiing. The only downside was the chocolate tour, which consisted of two hot chocolate stands (one of which had no clean cups, and neither of which was manned i.e. anyone who hadn't paid the $10 fee could grab some) and one other location that offered 1 not so tasty truffle per person - in flavors that tasted like banana caramel or mint with a touch of cayenne. In all fairness, we did get offered truffles in the lodge at the start of our trip (after waiting 15-20 minutes to be handed the platter that was sitting right in front of the single person that was working behind the counter). The chocolate tour had been recommended by friends who had attended it previously and said it definitely didn't live up to earlier years. We expressed our disappointment at the end of the day and we were all pleasantly surprised by the responsiveness (and friendly attitude!) of the staff who promptly refunded the added expense. We learned that the tour was being run by someone new this year, and they encouraged us to share our feedback. While I would have walked away happy after a successful first day of skiing, the positive attitude from the staff really made me want to return. Cross country beginners, go here! You'll be able to handle it, and if you're with more advanced friends they'll have fun too!

Yelp
I would not recommend this place. We went there on Wednesday to go tubing. However, the customer service representative stated that the water is low but you are still able to go down the river. However, you will have to walk quite a bit there is only one area where you can splash around. So she wouldn't tell us NO not to go but go and walk while you are supposed to be tubing down a river. Of course we decided not to go tubing. We asked about foot golf and the course was being relocated on Wednesday, but would be open on Thursday. So we booked the zipline tour for Thursday at 1:00 for my family. We have been on other adventure parks before with ziplines and other obstacles so for the price we paid for the zipline tour. You basically ride the ski lift up the the top of the mountain then walk down half the mountain. You do NOT do anything except push off and ride. The guides do all the work for you. Then at the end of the "Ride" you have to then walk again down the rest of the mountain to the center. The guides were GREAT with my family. The views were spectacular. While the older kids were on the zipline tour, my youngest daughter decided to do the foot golf. We went to the desk to pay for foot golf and was told that the course is still being setup that we could pay for 18 hole course and play the 9 hole course several times. We paid to play the course but after we received our equipment, the family that just finished the course stated that they were painting the course right before them. Their daughter had gotten pink paint on her clothes. My daughter decided that she didn't want to get her clothes full of paint so we decided to be refunded. The representative was accommodating with our refund request. After all of the problems we experienced with Bretton Woods we will not be returning. The Zipline Course is the ONLY thing worth going to. If you are going to open an attraction it should be fully operational and not still in process. Yes, I understand the river is beyond the company's control, but don't rent the tubes. Thank you for a great Zipline course.

Yelp
BW, As a local, I come and visit when I want to relax and ski some great snow, or have a facial at the spa, or just a drink after hiking. I can't give BW a bad review because I have so many great memories here. Come and make your own.

Yelp
I really like BW. I'm an advanced skier who's friends frown upon the thought of going here. But there's plenty of terrain to keep me challenged and happy. The runs are relatively short but there are trees and a few mogul runs to keep it fun. Plus the natural snowfall is very good for NH. There are lower winds than most places so no wind holds for the lifts. I started my boys here as beginners. (They frown upon it now and prefer Cannon). BW has glades and moguls in incremental levels. At bigger mountains the glades and mogul runs are expert only. BW is the place to learn. The new gondola is great. I've never been on it but it has shortened the lines for the quads substantially. They offer night skiing weekends and holidays. This place gets crowded. If it's a Saturday, start early, lunch early, etc. The only complaint I have is that the base lodge (the only one) is too small for what they have grown into. There are people that just hang out in there all day and lunch is madness. But if you can hit it mid week with everything open...it's fantastic!

Yelp
I had an absolutely amazing experience here- a group of us did the zip lining tour and it couldn't have been better! Our tour guides were Todd and Alex, both very funny and calm they made the thrilling experience a bit less frightening with their chill personalities. Felt safe the whole time and was a great adventure, highly recommend and thanks again to Todd and Kyle for such an awesome time!

Yelp
Let's just get it out there, Bretton Woods is the home of bad boy skier Bode Miller. Not excited yet? It's also the largest ski area in New Hampshire with exceptional snow making capabilities (so very important for those frisky New England winters) with easily some of the most naturally beautiful surroundings and views of Mt. Washington. The chairlifts are speedy with variations of terrain for all levels of skiers and riders, and at 2 and a half hours from Boston, a day trip is completely possible. Base lodging facilities are easily accessible via the shuttle service and the apres ski while not the most exciting, is enough to keep the evening interesting.

Yelp
Oh what fun Bretton Woods is! I'm so glad that everything in Vermont was busy for the weekend and we found this place. Since it was my first time skiing, I went for the lesson. I expected to be learning amongst small children, but was happy they had adult groups. My instructor, Ed, was incredible. He was really patient and even gave all of us in the group personal feedback. It truly made a difference in our learning curve and confidence. The lifts were in great shape and the mountain was well groomed. The parking was well organized and staff was courteous and helpful. The rental process was a slight bit messy, but it did not take long at all, even with a large holiday crowd. They have a great variety of trails, a good number of green ones, and good black and double black diamonds and some moguls. Definitely the place to go in New Hampshire!

Yelp
I've only been skiing once before at a small, local ski area so Bretton Woods was a great experience! When we arrived, there was a computer system set up to help with equipment rental. We entered all of our information - both personal/emergency info and ski needs (size boots/height/weight/ability level) - and then our sheets printed to the front desk where we paid. To our delight, the process went very quickly and we had boots and skis in no time for a reasonable price! A two-day rental cost $75 over the holiday weekend and because we were guests at the resort, they held our items overnight for free! I didn't know anything about what size boots or skis to ask for and the staff was very helpful and pleasant when dealing with me. There are three or four lifts I could see at Bretton Woods, each with several ski options for all levels of skiers. The staff is very efficient and the lifts work well so we didn't wait long - a couple of times we even got right on with no wait. There's a very nice kid's area that's a great place for beginners to get into the swing of things, and there seemed to be several options for ski classes and instruction. The lift I used most often ended about mid-mountain and had a candy store right there. We didn't go in but several people raved about it (adults and kids alike). The main lodge had a very nice bar/restaurant area on the 2nd floor where we met for a drink. Again, the prices were reasonable and the view was beautiful! We could watch both the lifts and the skiers. We didn't eat any meals there because it was very crowded, but one of the other lifts went to a restaurant in the middle of the mountain - Latitude 44 - with an incredible view! We were pretty high up and I (beginner that I am) was worried about skiing down but there were plenty of trail options for myself and my advanced friend so we could both get back down the mountain again. Definitely head out to Bretton Woods for a fun ski jaunt! They manage crowds well and don't expect you to pay a fortune for a good time.

Yelp
I can't believe I grew up in NH and only skied this mountain for the first time last spring. It takes awhile to get to - take 93 up past half a dozen other ski areas and then drive another 20-30 minutes off the freeway. I skied here in late March and even then, the conditions were superb. Even on a Sunday the mountain wasn't crowded and nearly all of the trails were open and well-groomed. It seems that spring rains that had swamped areas to the south fell as snow up here. As a fan of glades, Bretton Woods is hard to beat. I count more than two dozen individual glade trails across the area, ranging from the very secluded Rosebrook Canyon to some tamer tree runs elsewhere on the mountain. The only downside to skiing in Rosebrook was that accessing the area again for another go required taking two lifts. My sister isn't much of a glade skier, but with several blue square options that featured spread-out trees and quality snow on a fairly easy pitch, she was converted. The non-glade black diamonds are mostly manageable here - there were one or two moguled runs that I stayed off of, but as an experienced skier who mostly sticks to blue squares and single diamonds, there was more than enough for me to enjoy here. One place that could use some improvement - the food choices in the lodge were somewhat lacking, and rather pricey for what you got.

Yelp
This is the best skiing and riding you're going to find anywhere in the East. Their snow and grooming is top notch. This is the place to go when you want to really play and lay down some carves.

Yelp
Bretton Woods is by far the best ski resort in New Hampshire. It is family mountain with easy, wide winding trails that anyone can enjoy at any ability. The grooming here is spectacular and unbeatable at any other mountain. The grooming team spends the entire night grooming so it is not surprise to see a snow-cat at 6 a.m. For a beginner, I would sugguest Range View. It an easy and wide trail- perfect for cruising. As an intermediate, Granny's Grit and Crawford's Blaze. For an expert, Deception Bowl, Darby's Drop or Zealand. The black diamonds here are VERY easy. Honestly, a beginner could do Zealand no problem and Deception Bowl with a little hesitation. I would say their double blacks are equivent to blacks at other ski resorts. The glade here are spectacular. Be sure to head over to West Mountain to check them out! I would recommend staying away from the trail Aggassiz ( Blue) it has moguls and trees for a blue square ( very deceiving from the top). The lift lines are never long and the attendants are so friendly! The staff really gets to know you even if you just say for a little while! Whenever I put my skis in ski check, after a couple rounds, you don't even need to hand them the card, they will recognize your face with the skis without having to dig through your pockets for the card! Speaking of friendliness, there are all nice families that go here! Bretton Woods is a true family friendly mountain that I would recommend to anyone in search for some great easy skiing and a family friendly atmosphere!
