Hop on Portland’s BrewCycle for a pedal-powered pub crawl cruising through historic streets, craft beers, great tunes, and endless laughs with friends.
"Peddle-Powered Party For two-plus hours of tooling around NW Portland on a cycle with 15 of your newest, closest friends, it's the BrewCycle. The cycle is really a covered surrey of sorts, built out of many recycled parts, with seats for pedal pushers and a bench in the back for passengers. Folks are happy to switch around so everyone has a chance to burn off some of the beer calories accumulated along the way. The cost covers your seat on the cycle—all other expenses are on you. There is also a limit on the pedaling for folks under 5'3" tall. The other limit is the 30 minutes allotted at each brew stop, so it's a good idea to get something to eat before the tour. Northwest is relatively flat for cycling, but there are inclines. That makes this activity a bit of a workout, depending on the overall gross weight of the cycle fully loaded, and I mean that literally and figuratively. Dress comfortably and note that sensible shoes go a long way in the cycling world. The people who pilot this craft are smart, silly, and sophisticated when it comes to beer. Our guide had an advance degree in herding cats based on being able to keep us on schedule. There is no shortage of strange looks you'll get from the sidelines. And if you're looking for value on your travel dollar, the math on this is a no brainer: PDX + Cycling + Beer = are you kidding me… Finish that beer and climb on."
I had an awesome time with my friends. We did the old town tour. There's just enough time at each location to get a pint or a couple of tastings before you're off to the next place. By the end I was pretty trashed (there may have been shots involved at one point). The tour guide, Liem, was hilarious and directed a good time.

Had a blast! Great guide and some good stops but man that bike was hard to peddle up the slight hills. We had good music to encourage us and onlookers cheered us on. Would recommend to people going to Portland.

What an incredible experience! We booked for a birthday and I can’t think of a better way to have spent the day. Liam was so great. Entertaining, fun, and he really made the day awesome. We will 100% be back for another adventure! Highly recommend!

What a blast! We had the whole car for a group event. Alex was the perfect guide for our cycle. He was easy-going, fun, and very flexible with all of our moving parts. We do the cycle every year - a crowd favorite. Can't wait for next year.

A lot of fun! Three cool stops with good craft beer. Also met nice people from all over the country that was in our group. Only problem was that you barely have enough time to throw down one drink at each stop. Could have used about 5 more minutes at each stop. Eric was a great tour guide for conversation!

This is a very fun and unique experience! We did the Northwest Route and had a blast! Everyone was from out of town so it was a great way to get out and do something different while experiencing some of the great breweries Portland has to offer. Our guide was fantastic. I would definitely recommend BrewCycle and would like to do it again soon!

We decided to book this as a fun activity for one of our three days while visiting Portland. Most people were in their 20s, early 30s. One older couple. Pedalling was pretty easy. The bike vehicle only goes 7mph max.
No drinking on the bike. Can buy beer at each bar. $1 off some bars.
Our group was fun and I would definitely recommend it!

During our visit to Portland everyone seemed to talk about this BrewCycle program where you sit on a giant bicycle with 14 other people and ride around Portland visiting different breweries. We got lucky and booked the last two seats for an 11:30 AM ride. The meet up location was at a brewery called Back Pedal, and as soon as we walked in we were greeted by a lovely young lady by the name of Janet. She informed us a little bit about what we were about to expect and minutes later she told us to meet outside where we can sit on the bike. The greatest part of this whole thing was getting on and off the bike, each time was an experience of its own. As soon as we hit the road Janet put on some amazing songs and was a great cheerleader for us to pedal faster. Riding around the streets of Old Portland was so much fun. We got to see old historic buildings and streets along with some interesting people that kept waving and filming us. We finally got to the first brewery and it was so interesting. The beers were only $4.00 and each time we stopped everyone started mingling and getting to know each other. We had about 25 minutes at the first stop. After a couple of beers we hopped back on the bike and went to the second location. We had the absolute best time listening to great music and laughing while pedaling through the streets. The second location was an old historic building and it had turned into a pizzeria. We had some interesting flavored beers and got to know people that were with us in the group who actually live in Portland. They told us some really cool facts about the city and some amazing recommendations for restaurants. By this time it was safe to say that we were all a bit buzzed. 25 minutes later we were back on the bike and headed to the third location. As we kept peddling we would see more and more people getting excited to see us riding through town with loud music. Finally arrive to the third and final location and I had one of the best beers I’ve ever had: grapefruit IPA. It was so citrusy yet bitter m yet refreshing all at the same time. After a short amount of time there we had to come back to where we started and we were all a bit sad because we did not want this tour to end. So much so that we spent about 10 minutes outside just taking photos as a group with the one and only amazing Janet.
Special thanks to Janet and Andrea for organizing tours as much as fun as this one and for showing all of us a great time and keeping us safe while doing so.
