My husband and I visited Brewers at 4001 Yancey for the first time on a Saturday around 5 p.m. after hearing good things from friends and it didn't disappoint.
Right when we walked in, there was a live band playing, and they were fantastic! The vibe was energetic, with a big crowd enjoying good drinks, good food, and lots of smiles all around. The music did lean a bit loud for us, though, so we asked to be seated further back. Luckily, we still got to enjoy the music while actually being able to hold a conversation ( a win, win).
Our server, Chealsey, was super friendly and attentive. She greeted us quickly, brought water to the table while we looked over the menu, and checked in with us after we got our food and drinks. Thanks, Chealsey!
We each ordered a beer and enjoyed both:
- Crown Town - Fresh and bold with grapefruit and mango notes. A clean, approachable bitterness that was super refreshing.
- Shandy - Served with lemon on the side and a light berry color. It was tart but balanced...like a berry lemonade, crisp and perfect for a hot day. Would absolutely order this again.
Food-wise, we shared the cheesesteak with fries and an order of wings with smoked BBQ sauce. The cheesesteak tasted solid, but it came wrapped in foil on a plate, not exactly the best presentation. We unwrapped it to grab a quick pic, but honestly, it could've used a little plating love. The wings, on the other hand? Bomb. Meaty, well-sauced, and packed with smoky BBQ flavor. Definitely a standout dish we'd order again.
Prices for food and beer felt totally reasonable, especially given the portion sizes, live music, and overall fun atmosphere.
All in all, Brewers at 4001 Yancey delivered a great first experience: tasty beers, solid food, live music, and friendly service. We'll definitely be back, maybe next time with friends.
