10 Best Craft Beer Spots in Vancouver | Condé Nast Traveler

"If you’re driving by Brewhall, you won't miss it. Inside, you’ll find a cavernous, timber-beamed, two-level space, with the upper level Drinklab dedicated to experimental cocktail and beer concoctions, and the larger downstairs bar serving up Brewhall's craft beers (as well as collaborations with other craft brewers, along with rotating guest taps). This isn’t just a massive, overachieving beer garden, though. From wine to cocktails, from soup to nuts—literally—Brewhall serves up pretty much everything you need for a night out. There are craft beers made on-premises, of course, and Brewhall regularly partners with other local brewers on new pours. The company isn't proprietary about what runs through their pipes; recently, local competitors like Parallel 49 and Strange Fellows were given taps here. And if you’re not into beer, there are also wines and cocktails, including Negronis, on tap." - Guy Saddy

Came here to support local business before a show. They had partnered with the Arts Club, if you eat there, it's 15% off the food bill, so it was great to check out. We had the Forager Burger and the Truffle Mushroom Mac & Cheese. Both were absolutely delicious! We also had the non-alcoholic drinks and thought they were delicious as well. Prices on the menu were super reasonable, in my opinion. However, service was horrible. Lady that served us was rude. Spoke to us in a very condescending tone. The staff seems to be more engaging with each other than with their customers. Parking was not easy. If you don't park on the street, the parking lot will direct you to a parking station that is never to be found. Then when you pay on the app, they charge you for the wrong time. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the dinner, because the parking situation took up most of our dining time before we had to go to the show. I would come back for the food, but if I can't find parking on the street, I will move on to a different place to eliminate the anxiety.

We had a great time visiting this place last month , right after a long and exhausting day at work. The service was friendly and efficient, which made the experience even better. The food overall was good, though the popcorn chicken was a bit on the salty side. The crafted beers were excellent! We enjoyed them so much that we even took a few cans of IPA to go. It’s also a really good place to hang out. There was a DJ playing when we were there, and the vibes were so uplifting! it really helped us unwind and enjoy the night. Would definitely come back for the drinks, music, and chill atmosphere.

Their 20 burger and beer can’t be beat . The staff were so friendly and quick to serve. We loved the Mediterranean salad. So flavorful and scrumptious . Pac-Man will guide you to the bathroom .

Google
The best part of my visit was the welcoming and friendly staff 🙌 tonight I enjoyed the first visit! Looking forward to get to know this place more coming with my friends. The beer was tasty. The cheese burger could be a better quality overall we had a good time and would go again to try other foods and drinks

Google
They use traditional way to bake pizza it was live pizza I can feel the authentic smoke flavour I love it,actually I love mushroom pizza it was not only looking delightful but it was so delicious and baked well. My friend ordered the chickpea burger was tangy spicy exactly the way she wanted to eat and I prefer the pizza because of smoke flavour I love to connect with authenticity always Loved the experience.really impressed after talking with Pat Pat was super helpful being a general manager he was so polite and kind Special mention to Cole for his amazing service. Cole give us best customer service Will come back again.

Google
Shared the Full Mountie pizza with my hubby. It’s about 12-15” 6 slices and it was plenty for a light lunch. The dough was fresh, thin with a thicker crust and cooked to perfection. The toppings were fresh and delicious. Strongly recommend it!

Google
Had the Korean sandwich and a lovely flight of beers. Our server was great. No complaints here. Favourite beer of the flight was the IPA, with the Stout as a close second.

Google
Loved this place. My boyfriend and I came here on a recent trip to Vancouver and sat at the bar. Our server was fantastic, she let us try 3 or 4 different beers/ciders each and was super friendly. The poutine with the curly fries was also delicious! They also have some fun arcade games.

Yelp
Large restaurant, good vibe , a bunch of bar games. We had a really big group but they had our table ready right away and service was quick. Everyone enjoyed their food , I especially liked the chicken burger and Mac & cheese.

Yelp
This is another in the series of restaurants from Tap n' Brew, though this location carries a different name, presumably because it lacks the location and view the chain is known for. They try to appear as a brewery, though it's unclear if any beer is actually made on site, and most of their taps are from out-of-house. They only have about 5;beers on tap, so options are limited. Food is edible, but mediocre at best - dry, overcioked curly fries and paper thin burgers. I guess you can't expect much when a cheeseburger is $18. The location is terrible, situated on 2nd (which is like a freeway) and blocks away from the seawall which is prime for a restaurant. We visited at noon on a beautiful summer day, and we're one of four tables. The place was literally empty. They must be bleeding money as you couldn't even afford to pay their staff of 6-8 employees with such few customers.

Yelp
Amazing vibe , open space and great food. Our server so nice that we loved the whole service. We got nachos and crusty cauliflower to start with. Nachos were great but that cauliflower was heaven! We had their local beer and it was refreshing! Next we moved to chicken tacos and wow! So delicious! Overall, loved it!

Yelp
Fantastic spot for beer lovers!! The huge space allows for group activities but can also get loud on the weekends because they have a DJ and a small dance floor that opens up as the night goes on. If you are looking to have a nice quiet conversation, don't visit on a Friday or Saturday evening. Having said that, Brewhall is exactly what you need for a night of drinking and dancing. Their food is as good as their craft beers and they have vegetarian as well as vegan options. Service is quick and the staff are always friendly!

Yelp
Decent brewery place in Olympic Village area. Parking is available on the side streets, specifically S of 2nd Avenue. I think there's pay parking underneath the building. The place looks quite similar to the previous incarnation (Steel Toad), and the anvil is still hanging out there in front. The layout is pretty much the same as before. Bar area in the bottom, quieter seating upstairs. They have some old school pinball machines and a skeeball machine in the corner. Not sure if I'd touch this stuff during the pandemic though. Staff were friendly. No complaints there. The beer selection wasn't as large as I thought it would be. As of the time of writing there were 4 signature (regular) brews and 3 seasonals. Overall the beers were tasty. The Beliner weisse uses syrup. They used a bit too much of it to be honest. Hopefully the owner sees this. I also had a chance to try the deep fried pickles and pretzel. Special mention for both. Definitely one of the better ones (both items) I've had around town. Worth the few bucks if one wants a snack. Overall not a bad choice. I'll be back at some point. Recommended.

Yelp
Service was great, our server was so friendly and checked in to make sure we got everything! A lot of beers and bites to choose from. The poutine was great, loved the gravy.

Yelp
Came here with some friends for drinks and dinner on a busy Friday night and we did enjoy it here. It had good vibes, fun energy, and pretty good service for how busy they were. It did get a bit loud so I wouldn't recommend if you are hard of hearing. They have a large beer selection with several sours which we appreciated. I got the cheeseburger pizza and a side of ranch and it was amazing. The pizza kinda tasted like an in-n-out burger so I was in heaven. Also the ranch was definitely made in house and was to die for. Would definitely come back here again!

Yelp
Considering we went on a Friday evening without a reservation, I was surprised to find that we were seated almost immediately. The inside of the palace looks like an old timey brewery that has been renovated but still has the old esthetics. The happy hour had a lot of options for both food and drinks. The pizZa was delicious and the best food to share among friends. The service was a little slow but they were really busy. Definitely a great spot for a fun evening!

Yelp
Okay, I Love Brewhall! It's probably one of my top spots in Vancouver as a whole! Situated in the perfect spot, right on west 2nd and Quebec St (right near Earnest ice cream, the water, craft and main st station), it's a great spot to meet up with friends. Happy hour has some great bites for a good price (just not on Saturdays). Their burgers are sooo good, and their fries come in a few options (curly, dirty and more!). You can get the curly fries at no additional charge. Their burger and fries is about $14 (which is a pretty good price for the quality). They'll often have live music or at least pumping music in the background. Brew "hall" is a giant food hall with two levels, a ton of picnic bench seating - and of course lots of plexiglass to make you feel safe during covid times. The beer is also delish with lots of collabs with local breweries! My favorite sour is the Azedo sour! They've also got Jell-O shots which can make for a fun night out with friends. Whenever I suggest brewhall to my friends, they are always down! - and there's a reason for that! The service is always good, vibes are 10/10 and they've got plenty of food on the menu to satisfy any craving!

Yelp
An awesome spot in the Olympic village area if you have a big group. Brewhall has always accommodated us with their long tables. Service is always nice but sometimes slow and you have to flag them down for cutlery and water sometimes. Beer and drinks have been consistently good. Food isn't bad but can be a little pricey. Had the fully loaded nachos ($20) and added guac ($4). Good for 2 people.

Yelp
We came here for a goodbye dinner. We made reservations (which I love and highly recommend). Seating is picnic style and very awkward for a large group. Tons of drink and food options and the service was super attentive. I ordered the Tina PoKe Bowl (subbed for tofu - miso-soy ahi tuna sashimi, cucumber, cilantro, jasmine rice, wakame, avocado, pickled cabbage, radish, wonton chips, mixed sesame seeds, spicy miso mayo, crispy onions). This was not that great. It sounds like a lot of different things but the wakame overwhelmed the whole dish and the portion was small and dry. The screwed up our friends pizza dish so she didn't get it till we were almost leaving. The burgers were the huge hit of the night. Service and prices were great! Would go back but with a smaller group.

Yelp
Had a great time with friends here tonight to shot the breeze and watch the Canucks game. Lots of tv monitors to catch all the actions and it was nice that the sound was not blasting but just right. Majority of the group order burgers and beers and all enjoyed. I had a hard time deciding which beer so our wonderful waitress offered us a sampling. I tried 2 and settled on the seasonal pale ale with rhubarb, lemon and ginger. It was absolutely refreshing and delicious. Tasted all the notes with the lemon always lingering lightly behind. If you like a shandy then you would like this beer. My friend had the hibiscus wit beer and it was also very good. I ordered the forager burger (with truffle aioli, local wild mushrooms, caramelized onions, brie cheese, arugula) and added dirty fries. The burger was juicy and the truffle aioli really elevated this burger. My friend had the Korean chicken burger and also gave 2 thumbs up. I really like their attention to details to ensure hygiene like the half open paper wrap to hold the burger so easier to eat and hand sanitizer spray for everyone immediately after using the credit card machine.

Yelp
Brewhall is the go to place for millennials. If you're visiting Vancouver, come on a Friday or Saturday night and shut down the place, singing Dancing Queen at the top of your lungs with your pals! From the creators of Tap and Barrel, they've really taken this place to the next level - as it used to be Steel Toad which I always found a bit dark and dreary. Brewhall has made it work with the big screens, the games, the FUN environment! Always a great variety of beer, and I love their deep fried pickles. The vibe is DEFINITELY NOT cozy and you do share long tables mostly with strangers! It's fun but something does feel slightly off whenever I am there. I do have fun, but there is some weird personable/not personable/Vancouver "standoff"ish vibes at times too considering it's trying to create an environment of connection. Maybe the place is TOO big? Anyways, I would come hang out if you're in the hood and want a livelier location than a brewery.

Yelp
Brewhall is exactly what the name is, a huge beer venue. Ton of seating and tables. Huge bar in the middle. Tons of games and TV's. Service was good. Family friendly. Good for events. Ton of beer choices. They also serve food. Brewhall, pint - 5 CAD Flight - 8 CAD Fun place with decent beer.

Yelp
After many iterations of craft beer places at this location in Olympic Village, Brewhall seems to be one that is going to be successful. While its energetic arcade-hall decor is different from the relaxed hipster vibe at other craft breweries in the area, it provides a fun place for folks to hangout, have a nice beer and play a few arcade games. Brewhall offers a great selection of beer from their own craft brewery as well as from collaboration and guest breweries. They serve wine on tap as well if you are tired of beer! One of my favorite beers of theirs is the Hallpass IPA; hoppy and a joy to drink. Their food menu is a small but varied, and I do like their customizable salad bowls. I usually go for the Mediterranean Bowl with hummus, feta, greek salad, tabouli, olives, and mint yogurt dressing. Their Korean Chicken Wings is great with beer as well!

Yelp
Like Like Like (visited before COVID times. Yes... old review. Sorry it is a super late review... I would say I went 2019 Nov) What did I get I got one of the craft beers on the menu and didn't get any foods. The beer selected is good. Environment Nice environment, very casual... loud. Seems like a great vibe. I went on a cold day... so indoors was the way.. Niceness of the staff I didn't have any conversation that I thought was impressive. It was a join the line, place your order, get your drink and find somewhere. Dollar Typical drink price. Nothing too crazy. Again, I didn't try the food. Yes? I am not from Vancouver but would definitely go here again, maybe on a hotter day when it isn't so cold. Then enjoying a beer can be more entertaining...

Yelp
Went to the Brewhall on opening day. They've kept the bar where it used to be, but they've changed the seating to be long tables that are shared. The place is a lot brighter and more welcoming than when it was steel toad. There's an array of taps pouring fresh beers in all shades of gold. They also have a number of wines on tap, similar to the Tap and Barrel. In fact, the place is owned by the same restaurant group. So I think this location is now in good hands. If you thought wine on tap was taking it a bit far, then you were mistaken, because the brewhall has a couple of cocktails on tap as well. Old Fashioneds and Negronis (if I remember correctly). I did not try these, because how could I drink cocktails at a brewery on its opening night? Come on... One last note, the food isn't expensive, but they are snack sized. I ordered from the "shareable" menu, but there wasn't enough to share. So, order extra.

Yelp
I have been passing bu this place so many times but never tried it out. Last week we had a Department lunch here. I really like the interior decor and it was super spacious. I ordered thr korean chickenburger with curly fries and it was delicious. I surprised how crispy and crunchy it was while being juicy on the inside. It was season well and I really enjoyed their curly fries as well. This would be a cool place to hang out with friends. Next time I would like to come back and try their beers.

Yelp
Brewhall is the best ! Their food is amazing, I highly reccommend their fried chicken burger, their fried chicken, their fried pickles, their dirty cheese fries or their salmon bowl. It's all so yummy! It's not like regular "pub food". They always have collab beers on tap, and their usuals like their Azedo tropical sour are always fresh. It's a fun atmosphere (especially pre-covid) and always a great time !

Yelp
Formerly Steel Toad, I do have to give a huge shout out to the owners of Brewhall (same owners as Tap & Barrel) for creating a new fun, happenin' spot in the city for beer lovers and friends to gather. I love Brewhall, I really do. Everytime I've come by I've had a really fun night. I love their beers (their Hallpass IPA being my fave) - they create their own as well as partner with other breweries around the city and create new collaboration flavours. Their Mango IPA over the summer was so freaking good and I want them to put it back on their menu ASAP. They also serve food - their deep fried pickles, crispy chicken burger, dirty fries, and corn dogs are my top faves from their food menu. I've also tried their mexican and green goddess bowls, which were tasty and filling if you were looking for something lighter. I also have a vague memory of trying their cinnamon donut holes and loving it. Will have to come back to confirm this. They also have a large mezzanine that overlooks the whole brewhall. It's available to rent for private parties or larger groups. Really fun environment, loud sing-a-long music tunes, arcade games, and communal tables to mix and mingle with new and old friends. Beware, this place fills up quick, so be sure to get here early. Or come later, when the lines have died down. I'm sure I'll be back very soon.

Yelp
Accommodated a big group upstairs. Great at atmosphere! Margaritas were great And the apps were amazing as well!

Yelp
I came here with my kid recently. If she were writing this review, she'd give this place five stars for sure. She just loved it! But me? Meh. Perhaps I'm too old for this venue, as there seemed to be a younger crowd here. Everyone seemed to be in their 20s or 30s. Not that I mind that all but it was very loud inside, between all the people talking and the music playing. Plus there are communal tables and all were full. Plus, this place is known for its beer - and I don't drink beer. We actually came here for a group event. When I arrived, I asked the woman at the door where this group was located and she escorted us upstairs where there's a large mezzanine-like level and a large bar and many tables. (I was surprised we were brought upstairs, actually, as it appeared to be the "bar" area and my kid is a minor). Once upstairs, I asked the bartender (who was super nice) where my group was; he left to find out and, upon returning, said the group was downstairs. Argh. My group, although small, was unable to find a place at any of the communal tables for all of us to sit together, so my kid and I sat at a different bench. We ordered two "Make Your Own Bowl" meals (I think it was called the Green Goddess" bowl. My kid had hers with chicken as the protein. Me, the ahi tuna). She loved her meal! I found the tuna excellent but the rest of the dish too salty, and too much dressing in it. (I brought 90% of it home and gave it to my kid the next day). If I were younger and into beer, I'd probably love this place. There are arcade games, it's lively, I saw people playing games at the tables upstairs; it's obviously a hopping, fun place. I just felt it wasn't for me.

Yelp
Plenty of brews delicious food and great atmosphere. What more can you ask for. It's the recipe for a great time. Will definitely be making a stop here again.

Yelp
Finally got a chance to check out the new Brewhall in Olympic Village. Lovely combination of a brewery with pub style bites on the menu, along with a games room and scotch tasting room. Come for the beer and stay for the rest I'd say! They have some delicious beers on tap, some of their own, a few collaborations and some taps with their neighbours in the lower mainlands beer. They even have a few beers available to go in cans! My favs of theirs is the Sour Rangers and White Stout. Fav collabs would be the cherry sour and their collab with Field House. We went for an event thou and to check out their upstairs event room. They have a ton of whiskey, scotch and bourbon and are eager to have whiskey lovers unite up there for lots of upcoming events. We went for Robbie Burns night, the famous Scottish poet, so we of course had a plate of haggis, along with meat and potatoes and whiskey galore. We got a paddle taster full of scotch and they also had reps come out and sample their products as well, loved it! It was an intimate even with limited tickets, so be sure to catch your tickets early for the next event in the Drinklab! I rated them a 3 because I think they could do better. The food is mediocre, the beers could be better, then staff could be nicer and the place could be more welcoming.

Yelp
"Brewhall" was created by the makers of "Tap and Barrel" and is quite unique, as you will find out when you finish reading my awesome review and GO GET YOUR BEER ON! Okay, back to the review.....So, I am not particularly a huge beer person and I actually haven't tried any beer here yet, but....I have tried a variety of their Ciders! During my first visit, they offered two as "Guest Taps" BC Tree Fruit and Brickers Blackberry cider. BC was a tasty 6%, but a little on the sweet side. The Brickers Blackberry cider was much more dry and really lacked any kind of sweetness and was 6.2%. They both ran around $8-9. I didn't like the Brickers at all and actually poured some of my BC Tree into my Gf's Brickers to make a much more tolerable cider. I basically brewed my own cider! j/k. On my most recent visit, they had SEACIDER "Pippins". Seacider is my favorite maker of all things cider!!! Pippins is not my absolute fav, but all their ciders are amazing (strong at 9%). Like most reviews you will read, Brewhall wins the majority over with its welcoming and interactive atmosphere. I visited initially on a Monday night with no line up and fairly quiet inside. I have seen insanely long lines on a Saturday night; not my jam! When I stepped inside, Brewhall had that sort of "cafeteria" feel with large menu board to pick your poison and self serve. The tables are communal bench style seating, making it quite social. It has much the same feel as visiting a brewery, but on a much larger scale and so much better! The ambiance is extra dope because they have old arcade games like pinball, Pacman, and Street Fighter!! Pure awesomeness!! It's a loonie for most machines. Apparently, there is also a whiskey bar upstairs that I am dying to try out; it was closed on the Monday and reserved for a private event on my Thursday visit. I will definitely be back to check that out and give everyone an update. To accompany my cider I tried the Deep Fried Pickles and The Pumpkin Spice Donut Holes. I enjoyed both, especially the Donuts. My only complaint from my snack attack was the dipping sauce for the Pickles, as it was very bland and boring. On my subsequent visit I tried the soft pretzel which was a huge disappointment. It tasted stale. I spoke to the manager (Someone overhead my complaint lol) and she apologized saying they actually make them fresh daily. I dunno what happened there, but the manager was ever so gracious and gave me a "Cheers" card for a free drink! That's some classy management right there! Thanks Vivien! I also tried some of my friends pizza.... uhhh that needs some work! It was soggy and kinda sad looking. Flavor was meh! I ordered the Mediterranean bowl for my dinner and that was very tasty and healthy. It really balanced my excessive drinking. HAPPY HOUR: 2-6 pm Monday to Friday and 9 pm till close on Sunday to Thursday Happy FOOD: $2 of thin crust pizza (Gluten free available), Fried Pickles for $5, Soft Baked Pretzels for $3.50, Jelly Poppers 4 for $12 Happy Beer: Neon Lights Pale Ale for $4/$5.50 and Hall Pass IPA for $4/$5.50. Wine tip..... they do have wine! $9 for a 6 ounce. Unfortunately, served in water style glasses. This is a mistake for us hard core winos. I digress.... Apparently there is now an option to preorder using order.brewhall.com and then pick up at designated area. Your last warning.... Brew gets cray on the weekend so if you are not into line ups, loud noises and social standees, give 'er a try early in the week.

Yelp
I love the space but the music was way too loud for us. It felt more like a club than a brew hall. They had some pretty cool collaboration brews with local breweries on tap. Expect to wait 30+ min on Fridays/Saturdays for the opening month. (We waited 30min on Friday). folks @ brew hall if you're reading tihs: -Please add some more retro games! -add less sugar to your negronis on tap (it was waaaay too sweet) -lastly please turn down the music a tad. We had to yell across the table.

Yelp
First time here so I appreciate all the previous reviews. Otherwise I would be clueless about ordering at the bar first then finding seats for yourself. The place has a cool vibe. It's definitely a great place to hang with a group of friends. There's a DJ and arcade (loonie per game). Dine out Vancouver was ongoing. I got the Forager burger with salad and donut holes. I think it is pretty good value for $15. The burger was juicy albeit it could use a bit more flavor. It looks small but I got full. Salad was plentiful and dressed nicely. The donut holes were crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. I ordered the Phillips sour beer. It wasn't my favorite but it went surprisingly well with the burger. It's a welcome addition to the neighborhood and it's worth checking it out.

Yelp
Got a chance to try out Brewhall during Dine Out Vancouver. It's one large open pub style eatery with west coast North American food. Ordered a salad and I was delightfully surprised. They had some really unique salads. The maple soy salmon salad was incredible. I've never had black rice before and let alone in a salad. What are sunomono cucumbers and pickled cabbage? Very unique healthy ingredients and I enjoyed it. For less than $20 it was great value. Their portions are generous and the service was great. The cocktail selection was limited obviously it's a brewery. I enjoyed the food but not the alcoholic beverage so much as I'm a wine and cocktail person. Would try the happy hour next time for the food though!

Yelp
A large, hip looking place with bog standard beer and bog standard food. There were lots of kinds of beers and lots of non-beer options. Probably good for big group outings, but not the destination for serious beer tastings.

Yelp
I'm sad to say I will not be returning to this place. It's my second time here, once pre-COVID and now. I understand, that because of COVID our group of 8 had to be split to two tables - we were told side by side but one group ended up, upstairs and the other down (again, I understand that due to covid, you could not seat us, next to each other, with the divider up). When we were seated, the server asked us what we wanted to order, fine. We weren't ready so he came back, great. My 2 gfs ordered chickpea burger and the other gf ordered a kfc burger, no onions, no tomato. The server serves us our drinks, I asked for napkin he had a blank stair then said "huh? Sorry?" I then repeated myself, napkins please. He delivers the napkins, then we try and ask him if we can move downstairs, he walks away. We tried to get his attention but he kept walking. He does a circle around, but doesn't see my gfs hand up, straight up in the air. Our food then comes. Chickpea burgers, fine. But the kfc burger has not just lettuce, but shredded lettuce . Gf was was nice to just say "hey, it's okay, I'll just pick it off, because I don't want the burger going to waste". My gf said this to another server btw, a female server who was quite pleasant. Anyhow, they start eating and I noticed that my water was empty, so I waited, waited and waited for our guy to come around or near. Dinner goes on, no one checks on us. Then bam! Last call, he comes out of nowhere and says - "last call...would you guys like anything else?" I then said "may I please have some more water?"

V B.

Yelp
If you need to make reservations and plan events, this is the place to be. I planned a few events here with a large group of people and always receive great service here. Servers would often come by and ask if everything was good. I would have given a 5 star except sometimes we had to be moved with a large group as there were mix up between booking the upstairs. Nonetheless, we all still had a great time.

Jerome D.

Yelp
This is a great gathering place - food and drinks are excellent - but the music is too loud - people can't hear each other - will not return- until they turn down the music - the people in our group could not hear each other-

Yelp
I was happy to stop in here for happy hour with a friend. We liked the prices and options. There is a set happy hour menu that has beer for $4 or $5.50, depending on the size and $7 wine. We also tried some food - the soft pretzel and fried pickles. Both tasted good and were $2 off each- anything from shareable menu is $2 off during happy hour, which is M-F between 2-6 and Thu-Sun 9-closing. The patio is nice, shaded and breezy. I look forward to coming back and trying more options on the happy hour menu. ...so, I returned and split the corn dog with a friend. I hadn't had one in years, but it hit the spot. Good portion. I had the Neon Lights beer, which is a hoppy ale. I'll be having that again. Also, just a note that their menu offers quite a variety of options, and I think that's a real draw to this place. Of course, there are different beer and drinks to choose from, but you can also order greasy food, like beer dipped fried chicken or healthy dishes such as a green goddess salad or tuna poke. It's a good spot. If I lived in this area, I'd be a regul

Yelp
Pretty good little brew house, and a nice change from the miserable Steel Toad failure. Counter style unless you sit at the bar. Food is a little bit pricey, but I can't really comment on quality since I have only tried the cheese burger which they apparently styled after In and Out Burger. Kinda similar. I have heard from others that the food can be slow to come out, but I have not experienced that personally. Could be a better selection of beers. Basically half guest taps and half their own brew, which they also do in collaboration with other local breweries. Perhaps they will add more with time. Staff is good here and fairly knowledgeable. The room is pretty cool, with large communal tables, and sweet little garden patio in the back complete with ping pong table, and also a mini arcade area stocked with 90s video games (incl pac man and street fighter 2) and pinball machines. Overall, good times.

Yelp
Price was good. Portions are small. Lots of seating. Not very noisy. The games aspect could have been more central for people to watch, rather than off in a corner. I liked that it was an order and pay system, rather than having a server (just seemed to work better). The beer chicken pieces: Pretty tasty. Good sauce. The Mexican bowl: It was okay... had some flavour, but it was really good after my friend suggested I pour the leftover sauce from her chicken into my dish.

Yelp
I drive by here at least 6 times a week for work. I've never gone in until today. My brother and dad wanted some pub food and a cool environment and my partner recommended it. Street parking is $1/hr so not bad at all - max 2hrs though. You get your own seats and then go up to the counter to order your beverages and food and prepay, they give you a number and bring your food to you once it's made. They are all very knowledgeable and friendly and can offer you a sip of something if you don't want to make the mistake of committing to one only to end up not liking it. They have their own beer but they also have tons of local beers on tap. My brother and dad were huge fans of the East Side Short Shorts (who would have thunk?). - burger and beer for $12 is an amazing deal. I don't need a magic 8 ball to know I'll be back for it :D - we ordered a brew-ha burger with a fried egg (extra $) and it was amazing. I will say without hesitation that it was the best burger I've had in Vancouver; - the fries were meh but I rarely get amazing fries anywhere; - the chicken wings were scrawny but cooked perfectly and an amazing accompaniment to beer, or in my case water; - the kale and artichoke dip had great flavor but it was really dry and not dip-able because it was so stiff; - the godfather pizza was delicious but a little on the greasy side. My brother was blotting/dabbing the grease off; - the green goddess salad was a hit with my brother and dad; - the pretzel was too greasy and not the chewy texture I'm used to in an authentic pretzel; - mental note: order the corn dog next time because...who doesn't like corn dogs?

Yelp
Just opened. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good selection of their own brews and also local ones. They have 2 patios, and it's all self seating for the whole restaurant. I ordered a flight of their brewhall beers, strawberry shortcake Sunday and Korean spicy wings. They have quite a good selection of food on their menu. From pizza to hotdogs to homemade chips etc. I'll be back to check out other things next time.

Yelp
If you want to find an affordable and friendly brew, look no further. This place was great to me and I had a great time here

Yelp
Here's a tip worthy of a beer next time I see you: use their website to order/pay. You can pretty much walk up and you're order will be ready. Haven't eaten here yet so can't judge that but their in-house beers are pretty good, as are their guest taps. Crowd is much younger than it was as Steel Toad which is good and bad. It gets super loud so prepare to yell talk. Don't order any cocktails. Stick to the safe stuff.

Yelp
I'm not a beer drinker (or much of a drinker at all, really), but we ended up here, and I wasn't disappointed. The crowd was mainly 20-somethings-- though someone told me that wasn't the norm (he said the age range tends to be a little wider). Either way, no big deal! The staff (who take the orders) were very nice, there were a ton of beers for beer drinkers to choose from, and a pretty decent margarita for those of us who prefer a sweeter drink. The huge video screen was nice for when conversation lulled, and other patrons were also nice and in pretty good spirits.

Yelp
Very rude, impolite & irresponsible manager. We were added to the waitlist at 6:59 pm to have a table at 8:30pm on March 6th, 2021. We got there at 8:25pm. The waites told us to wait for 10mins and we will be the 1st group to be seated. After waiting for 30 mins, they let a new group of 6 people to seat ahead of us. Once I reminded the manager (Pat) about our priorities, he disrespctfully said "I don't need to provide any explanations, you can go away if you want". Issues: 1. They clearly overbooked their tables by far without any responsibilities. 2. Their manager (Pat) was very disrespectful and rude. His name is Pat and I'm sending a complaint to his General Manager Nick Menzies. I will post the GM's response if it was any.

Yelp
Now I've only been once but I gotta say finally this space is being utilized as a social watering hole where people actually talk to one another in Vancouver! Who woulda thought. It's so refreshing to see picnic style Oktoberfest tables lined up in this space and a cafeteria style lineup for ordering. The menu is pretty simple, dips, fries, burgs, poke (obvi). My bf and I ordered the kale and artichoke dip along with two brews. Mine the Satsuma Lager and his...I can't remember. Both the brews were yummy. Lots of options to choose from if you're looking to try some local sips! They also collab with craft breweries in the neighbourhood which I think it great. The dip was cheesy and tasty served with the right amount of chips! I like that this joint is different, there's no space like this in Vancouver and I do hope it lasts!

Yelp
4 stars for the experience and the beers, 2 for the food. So we'll settle in the middle on 3. Fun vibe, laid back with the ordering at the bar and long tables. (You definitely have to be ready for that when you go in.) The arcade games are fun (though the Ms Pacman game had a joystick that didn't work well, much to my kid's dismay). We've normally come early in the evening on weekdays, so it's not too crazy. We went for lunch once, too, and sitting on the little patio out back is nice. The beer selection is good and the wines are about what you'd expect at a place like this (drinkable, nothing outstanding). My main quibble is the food. We've actually stopped coming in the last couple months, even though it's close by, because we generally want to get a light dinner with our kid, and every time I bring it up my partner just isn't excited about eating there. The pizza is a floppy, gooey, greasy mess. The brat was okay when I had it. I had a good side salad once, but my partner ordered a full salad and didn't like it. I think it's the memory of the pizza that puts us off, really, especially as my kid always orders pizza, no matter what. The pizza is just not good. Go to drink, and you'll have fun!

Yelp
I expected to hate this place but I actually quite enjoyed it! Yes it's big and it's loud but they have an amazing selection of beers (guest taps, and their own collaborations with locale breweries)! The bartender also seemed to really care that we got something we loved - gave us a few tasters of things to try and a bonus one that was new (smoked wheat beer, interesting)! DJ was playing an interesting mix of music and I was happy to find a pinball machine, too! (Also has a few arcade games and buck hunter.) Looked like they were clearing tables for a dance floor later. Overall seemed like a great bar. We were there on the early side (9PM) and walked right in but there are lines later in the night.

Yelp
1. Just in case you forget where you are, they've got B R E W H A L L plastered in big brightly lit letters when you walk inside. 2. Wait to get in, then wait some more to get some beer. Lineups vs. lineups. 3. Extremely overpriced beer and food. Look elsewhere if you are expecting a proper pint! If you order anything on the menu, it's a-la-carte. Ordered the mushroom burger and got just that. The wings, it's not even 1lb, which is standard at almost all restaurants!!! 4. This place is NOISY AF, we had to talk at the top of our lungs just so the other person could hear. Is this BREWHALL Nightclub or??? 5. Patio is way too small and upstairs was under-utilized. CONCLUSION: Don't think I'd be back by choice. CRAFT, Faculty, R&B, Big Rock, Main Street, and a ton of other breweries are just around the corner, with a much better experience. You think they would have learned from the failure of Steel Toad!

Yelp
Love this place! Love the vibe, staff and experience! Had the godfather pizza. Yummy and a great price! The Hall Pass IPA is good too. Love that I can order my vodka paralyzed at the bar. They also carry a lot of local brands. Clean bathrooms too are always a plus!

Yelp
I am writing this review based on an experience I had hosting a group of fifteen at Brewhall. I was in from out of town planning a get together for friends I do not see very often. I stopped into Brewhall eight days before the event to ask about booking a reservation. I spoke with the manager and was told they already had two bookings, but they thought it was likely one would cancel and that I should call during the week. He assured me that my event day (Sunday) there should be ample room to grab a table if the reservation did not pan out and no need to arrive early. He gave me his card. I called later in the week to ask about the reservation and was told the same thing that they were not sure if the other group was coming and that I should just show up on the day. Day of, I arrived at Brewhall to find it packed with only a small alleyway section near the door available (at least there was that). To their credit, the manager/staff said they were looking for a spot for us and eventually offered a place on the patio, but there were not enough seats for all of us and the patio closed at 10pm so we stayed put. The area we were sitting in is quite narrow and is a walkway. We had to move ourselves a few times to accommodate baby strollers exiting through the area, staff accessing private areas, and a single washroom door. A glass was knocked out of someone's hand and broke (Opa!), although the staff was very good to clean it up quickly. Maybe it is because I am not from Vancouver, but I felt Brewhall took my reservation request too casually and should have put me on a wait list for reservations, or at least suggested I arrive early to snag a spot. If I was bringing a group in the future, I would be sure to have a reservation or choose another location. I was happy with the food and fresh beer selection including some interesting collaborations. The atmosphere was lively and it was easy for my friends to get up as they pleased to order with the cafeteria style set up. 2-6 people would be easy to seat on a normal day and I will return with smaller numbers!

Yelp
The beer selections are good as they make a lot of collabs with other breweries. The food is basic at best. The arcades are expensive - $1 per play. Not really happy about it.

Yelp
This is a drop dead gorgeous new brewhall that does it right. Beautiful surroundings, tasty food and a whiskey lounge upstairs with a real pro that will inform you of the history of each bottle he handpicked himself. A recommended brewhall in Vancouver.
