Found this little gem after looking around for somewhere to have breakfast. The atmosphere was great the staff very friendly & professional. Took awhile for breakfast to come after ordering it but the place was packed & that is a good sign that breakfast will be worth waiting for & it certainly was. The big Breakfast was great, the scrambled eggs were delicious. Looking at other customers breakfast I could see they were delicious. Definitely recommend the Brewhouse well with the wait & the price you pay.

As someone who previously lived in Melbourne for many years, when i moved to Bendigo I needed to find a good coffee place. I found Brewhouse and haven't looked back since. It's easily the match for Melbourne cafes, and is the standard by which I judge other cafes in Bendigo, a standard none have yet beat. The food is great, and the staff amazing. We are weekly regulars and will no doubt be so for years to come.

Friendly and kind service. Very professional and personable. The kitchen has just closed and they still provided us with a beautiful meal. Thank you 🤗💯

One of the best coffee I had in Melbourne. Loved the big breakfast spread too. If you are at Bendigo, make sure to check them out !

Fantastic atmosphere! Today was obviously incredibly busy for them considering the new year and holiday period, but despite that there was amazing service taking everything in their step. Genuinely apologetic for the wait ( coming from the city it really wasn't that long a wait, but we are in the country). And to top it off the coffee was to die for! Highly recommend a caramel oat coffee from them!

Great food and service. The owner was incredibly welcoming, offering complimentary muffins for a milestone birthday celebration. They were also very attentive when one of the kids felt unwell, providing water and paper towels. Would recommend for bigger groups as the layout is accommodating for that with larger tables.

Atmosphere was very good, cool and relaxed, and delicious coffee. Food and service was very average, a few mistakes and lackluster presentation. I would give it another go, might have just been a rough day over the festive period. But sadly disappointed.

When we arrived, the woman who served us appeared less than welcoming when we asked to be seated with space for a high chair. She placed us on the two couches at the front of the building with a coffee table to eat off. I had to tell her that we might have to go somewhere else due to me being almost 7 months pregnant and not being able to eat off something so low to the ground. She then directed us to the back room which was more of a large storeroom area. We had to walk past the kitchens and down 3 large steps to get to it. The staff lockers were to our right and the table we sat at was sticky, and had old dishes, a high chair table attachment and a bottle of cleaning spray left on it (which weren’t moved until we were packing up to leave). The general area was overcrowded with random chairs, and was not functional for anyone with a pram or mobility aid. We ordered two hot drinks and a meal each. When I asked for a kids pancakes the same woman said "we aren’t doing those anymore". No further explanation, let alone any remorse for not having it available. I then asked for a kids milkshake and she gave the same response. In the end, we had to order something completely different to what we had originally planned for our under two year old. After 45 minutes of waiting, a random plate of pancakes came to our table. The waitress appeared flustered when we mentioned that I had tried to order some earlier but was told they weren’t available. She tried to give it to us anyway, even though we explained we ended up ordering something else. The waitress left and returned, saying the pancakes were for the table next to us. The family seated there denied ordering pancakes at all, so the waitress huffed and took the plate back to the kitchen. When our actual meals arrived more than half an hour after that, we still hadn’t been given any cutlery or napkins. My husband’s Eggs Benny toast was smaller than my daughter’s kid-size one, and it was soggy on arrival. The bacon was burnt in parts and full of stringy fat (looked like cheap offcuts rather than short cut). During the time we were there, the other two families in the room had either got the wrong orders or didn’t receive part of their meal at all. One family left after eating less than half their meal. Overall it was a disappointing experience considering we don’t get the opportunity to eat out often. I don’t think we will return after this.

Yelp
Great place for a coffee and some breakfast. Had a quick coffee and bite to eat one morning and as I've been here and had great coffee it didn't disappoint. No reservations only walk ins on weekends but we were lucky to get a table. A quick coffee and a BLT hit the spot, the coffee was good and the BLT was fresh and full of flavor. Good service and a quirky place with lots of graffiti art and a good sized menu to choose from. They also sell tea and coffee paraphernalia and blends.

Yelp
I had already eaten before I popped into Brewhouse but I'd heard such great things so I needed to drop in for a coffee and check the place out. I'm really impressed, Bendigo! The staff are all cool looking, tattooed dudes and dudettes but the patrons vary completely. The staff actually look like they enjoy working here which makes you enjoy your experience that much more. Inside has a warehouse sort of feel. Exposed brick on some walls and others covered with colourful graffiti. And they're obviously about sustainability and recycling because water is served in old Absolut Vodka bottles, the light shades are made of milk crates and the front counter looks like it used to be an old shipping container. There are a bunch of old trestle tables to share with others or great for your own big group. I LOVE what they've done with this place! And the coffee is great! It's hard to find good coffee outside of the city but this is really good. The food looks really great also and they're fully licensed as well which is an added bonus. I've also heard on the grapevine that they're going to start hosting a 'Stitch & Bitch' where you can get together with a bunch of others and learn to crochet over coffee or gin - whichever you prefer. If you're in Bendigo it's definitely worthwhile giving the Brewhouse a go!

Yelp
This is my second visit to the brew house and I enjoy the feel of the place. I've brought my husband this time, and he's checking out every detail. We're lucky enough that we can get the brew house coffee at our local cafe in swan hill, so we know we're getting the good stuff.

Yelp
A funky space and decent food could have earned a 3+ rounded to 4 but the not so great coffee and the customer service needing improvement put it at below 3, rounded to 2. Good bread on a nice big breakfast. The Coffee was a bit too milky for my taste and lukewarm to boot. The service was friendly but they did something I hate: I asked to have my beans swapped for spinach and they charged me an extra side. I get not accepting changes to the menu on busy days or otherwise, but charging for a straight swap on sides of the same value is just poor form.

Yelp
I feel hesitant to review local beloved institutions. As far as I can tell, Brewhouse is one of them and Bendigonians love the crap out of this place. A deliberately hipster joint with lots of beards, exposed wood and lights made out of milk crates. That's not to say that I hated it! Not one bit. The restaurant space was large and I would definitely be keen to check this out for lunch or dinner. As far as brunch goes, pretty standard fare and drinkable coffee. Nothing outstanding. It's nice a cheap though, with most breakfast options including a big stack of pancakes running under $15. For star ratings, I would say it's a local 5, standard 4 and an out of town coffee snob's 3.

Yelp
Whenever I come to Bendigo to visit my Dad, this is one of two places I regularly come for coffee. When Dad first moved here, one of my first tasks was to suss out the best coffee in town and I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I love the vibes, the staff are always friendly, the space is huge and very Bendigo-hipster-cool. Taking into account Melbourne's ever-growing health-consciousness, the Brewhouse is following form and actually knows how to make almond milk lattes taste great. There are Gluten Free options on the menu too, although I don't come here for the food - It's nothing to write home to Melbourne about. However, I've never had a bad coffee here. Parking is horrible. As in most big country towns, you have to pay for parking wherever you are, and there's not a lot of it. If you're grabbing a take-away, there are handy 10 minute parks right outside, but if you're sitting down you'll have to park a few streets away and walk. Which may not be a terribly bad thing after you've eaten a huge brunch!!

Yelp
Don't get me wrong I love a good coffee and the brew house has the capacity to make this. And I can understand the rush on a busy day. But I have been to the brew house probably 3 times in the past 4 days and every time my coffee has been luke warm. Maybe because it's summer. Maybe I need to ask for it hot. But I assume that when you ask for a coffee, no matter the temp outside, it comes to you steaming. Otherwise you would ask for a iced coffee right ?

Yelp
Brewhouse was our first stop from MEL airport. After 24+ hours of travel from the US, D and I opened up the shop and started off with perfect flat whites. My veggie breakfast was perfect - fresh veg, cheesy and beautifully poached egg - while D's prawn & avocado sammie could have been improved with toasted bread and a bit more flavor. We'll definitely be back, maybe even later today!

Yelp
Good coffee, and a nice atmosphere. Didn't try the food on this visit but will be back. The place was busy and everyone seemed happy. The service fast and the staff friendly.

Yelp
Massively hipster, warehouse style, grungy look. Its noisy and brash but works well. The staff are friendly, though not very attentive. It was hard to get anyone's attention after they took initial orders. I have been twice now and my order was taken wrongly each time. The coffee is genuinely good. The food is passable but not a highlight. Good for coffee and a snack but not a place you would go to for a meal.
