Brewvies is the place, man. Cheap tickets, reasonably priced beers, and a solid mix of people. Definitely a funky crowd, but they were smart enough to quarantine the regulars on the other side of the bar, I think so the movie goers don’t wander in and mess up the ecosystem.
Two theaters, plenty of seats, though if you end up too close, you might have to use a neck pillow. Sound is solid, the picture seems a little dim to me, but maybe that’s just my new glasses. Either way, you’re not here for a crystal-clear cinematic experience—if that’s what you want, go to IMAX. This is about grabbing a beer, kicking back, and watching a movie with a bunch of people who are also here to just have a good time.
And in Utah? A place like this is rare. If you’re from out of state, trust me, you won’t find anything else like it. Our "nanny state" liquor laws make sure of that.
These guys usually get movies a few days to a week after release, which honestly works for me. I like to hear what people are saying first, then come here and watch a show over a pint—or a pitcher, if I’m feeling fine.
Oh, and free movies. They do reruns of classics and deep-cut cult films, which is honestly such a cool touch. Show up, grab a drink, and catch something weird on the big screen for free.
Again, I don’t think there’s anywhere else in Utah where you can watch a beer and drink a movie—wait… did I say that right?
Whatever. Brewvies rules.
