"Brian Head might not be a household name like Park City or Deer Valley, but this is exactly what makes it the ideal vacation destination. As the highest winter resort in Utah, it receives over 300 inches of snow every year." - Dobrina Zhekova

"Brian Head is the highest ski resort in Utah, located about 220 miles southwest of Salt Lake City. It offers spectacular terrain, making it a prime choice for skiing even during spring. Notably, it was the starting point for a ski trip covering all of Utah's resorts in a day." - Tim Neville

Our family had an amazing experience at Brian Head Ski Resort. The main reasons for the rating are: - Great experience in ski school. Instructors met us at our level, gave easy to understand tips, and were extremely helpful. The two that stood out most were Richard and Daryl. There were also several areas to practice skills in the Navajo Learning Center. - Amazing views. The snow, the trees, the mountains...all amazing. We only had time to explore about half of the runs, but loved it all. - Employees were so helpful everywhere...on the runs, at rentals, in ski school, in the store. My son had so much fun and we look forward to returning.

This is a great ski resort! My kid loved the skilled ski instructors and he learned so much! Location is great, skiing on fresh snow was awesome, parking is great, the cafeteria had good food options! Nothing to complain! Definitely recommend! My kid had Joseph for his private lesson and he was amazing that my son wanted to do a whole day private next day. Unfortunately they were sold out on private, but he got group lessons with Tee and Eli, and one other instructor, and they were all great too!

Our family had a great time at Brian Head Resort. The instructors were amazing. Lindsey taught our four year old (it was her first time skiing) and she made the experience amazing. Our daughter loved it! Alex taught our six year old who really was anxious but after 2 days with her his skills improved so much and he was enjoying skiing! Josh taught our 7 year old who loved exploring the mountain with him. Very happy with the ski school experience. Thanks for teaching our kids and improving their skills!

My daughters and I took ski lessons at Brian Head resort. We were impressed with the organization of getting all your gear and the ease meeting up with the instructors. My girls were on the chair lift and skiing down the mountain after one lesson and were eager for more. I’m a first time skier and got a lesson from Richard. He was patient, has tons of experience and was just great to hang out with. Highly recommend taking a lesson here!

We went skiing for a day. My niece was learning for the first time. One of your workers - Wendy Ludlow - was fantastic. She had a wonderful attitude with everyone. She was very friendly and patient with all of us and was very helpful. If anyone fell she was right there to the rescue. We couldn’t have asked for better treatment. She was great!

We love Brian Head Ski Resort! We have been coming for the past two years and fall in love more and more. We have had an excellent experience with many different instructors. My five year old daughter has fallen in love with snowboarding and we can give credit to Ms. H (Jessica). She has been with my daughter for the past two years and has been so patient in teaching my daughter the sport! She has gone above and beyond and created core memories for her! Mr. Brad also went above and beyond in teaching me! He was super patient and passionate about teaching the sport! We will be coming back to Brian Head for years to come! We love the small town charm and the friendly staff at the resort!

Hotel room was pretty decent. Customer service is terrible. Made arrangements to get rooms next to each other with our family and when we arrived we were told it couldn’t be done and were put on different floors. Breakfast was overpriced for cold make your own sandwiches. And an automatic gratuity fee. Being forced to pay a gratuity before getting your food is very poor in my opinion. Especially when you have to get your own food and clean up after yourself. And the food was cold. The hallways throughout the entire hotel smell like nasty weed. Very poor quality for a family hotel. Front desk customer service does not answer the phone or the text chat that they message you from numerous times before check in. Hot tub was out of service. Asked when it would be fixed and told next day. When asked again following day if it was working we were told no. Although they allow people in and out of it. I guess it’s better to just ignore signs and use what you want. Went down to the front desk to ask for an extra pillow and was told they don’t have pillows at this hotel.

Ellie Smith and Wendy Ludlow were such an amazing duo. They were very strong teachers. My son had such a great time. I was beyond impressed by their enthusiasm for instructing. I would recommend those two to anyone. Great job!

Yelp
I was hoping that I was going to be able to write a great review after my weeklong trip with my family. But one person really put a damper on our trip. That person is the female supervisor at the Navajo Ticket center. We arrived on 2/3 at around 3pm. I went to the ticket booth to check in early for my children's private lessons the following day. We were also going to try to get our rental gear. I was doing this in an effort to ensure my two children (4 & 6) were ready and not rushed the next day's lesson. The ticket attendant was very nice and printed out our tickets for the next day. Tickets included 2 private lessons, ski equipment rental and 2 adult lift tickets. Total value of approximately $850. That night my asthmatic son got very sick. He was short of breath all night and required multiple breathing treatments. I attempted to use the website to reschedule or cancel the lessons and lift tickets. But since the lift passes and tickets were already given to me. I was not able to change any reservations on line. The next day I went to Navajo ticket center to try to reschedule the lessons. (Preferred both kids to take lessons together). I spoke to an agent and explained my unique situation. The nice man referred me to his supervisor. I spoke with the supervisor. I explained to her the whole situation and asked for help. She was very dismissive and hardly listened to my story. She had zero empathy and quickly cited that same day tickets are non refundable and non transferable. I asked to reschedule my son for another day. Again she cited same day tickets are non refundable and non transferable. I asked if I could reschedule my daughter's lesson for the afternoon session, since we were now 10 minutes from start time and she was in her pajamas at our condo. Again she cited same day tickets are non refundable and non transferable. I was very disappointed with her customer service and inability to help me in this unfortunate situation. I understand that it clearly states that same day tickets are non refundable and non transferable on the tickets. But my tickets were not same day. I got them the day before (2/3). And I only did that because it was suggested in order to make the next days experience more smooth. My advice...never get your passes issued ahead of time! I would like to return next year but my experience with the Navajo Ticket Center supervisor really soured my Brian Head experience. Response less than 12 hours later Hi Kory, Thank you for your comments in the survey sent to you after your stay with Brian Head Resort. I am so sorry to hear about your son getting sick. While it is policy that once it is day of and tickets are printed they are non refundable and non transferable we also try to be understanding of last minute illness/emergency situations that present themselves. You should have been offered a credit or gift card for that lesson as a 1 time courtesy. I do see that you were issued credit for the lift ticket by one of our reservation agents. I have refunded you back to the card on file in the amount of $275 for that lesson, it will take 5-7 business days to post to your account. I do apologize about the experience you had at Brian Head Resort and we will be using your feedback with ticketing staff to better train/educate on last minute illness/emergency situations. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Alicia Payne Senior Ticketing Manager

Yelp
Ever since this new corporation took over the mountain from John, it has gotten worse. The season passes randomly stop working, the food is cafeteria level horrid, the bar is now beer and seltzer only and closes early, and some of the employees are mean and/or just plain rude. Seriously, What happened to this place??? I've been coming here since 2011, the food was awesome, the bar was a real bar that stayed open and offered good food, the employees seemed happy to be there and were super friendly. Now it seems the employees are disgruntled, and the awesome BH charm is gone. Things that need to be addressed: Bathrooms are almost always dirty, floors are dirty, fire pits not working/not turned on, food leaves something to be desired, pass system keeps failing on season passses (6 of us came in with the same issue of season passes "showing expired" when they weren't) And all of this is at the price point of a resort that should offer WAY MORE when it comes to quality. Additionally, there is zero customer/local loyalty. Do better Brian Head, the locals and the loyal customers deserve better from you.

Yelp
Great place to ski, smaller and not overly crowded. I don't ski any more because of my heart condition but I still bring my family here. It would be nice to park close to the lodge so I can have access to my car since it's hard to find a seat to sit around all day. Seems like they don't monitor the handicap parking well and they get upset when you even look for handicap parking. Employees inside the lodge are very nice. I get shortness of breath from walking and carrying anything so being close at least allows me to help carry ski poles or something light and help out. Or even take a nap. It's a long day waiting. Outside of the handicap parking, I would give them 5 stars. Employees are really nice.

Yelp
Went here for the first time to go sledding with the kids. We went to buy tickets and it took us awhile to figure out where to go. Went up to the sledding area and it was a find your own tube and go up the escalator and hope for the best. I had to tell the guy it was my kids first time and they figured it out. They had a great time and it was really organized. I wish they had an indoor area for the parents to hang out in that we could watch the kids too. We were in the forest hiding from the elements because it was so blizzard-y.

Lydia F.

Yelp
We love coming here because it's less crowded, the runs are fun and challenging, but are short, so you can get in a ton during the day! My husband took a really hard fall, hit his head and was concussed. I was sooooo impressed with Ski Patrol! They were professional, knowledgeable, and extremely kind and caring! We have had such a great experience that we will be customers for life!

Paul S.

Yelp
Here for presidents day weekend with the kids and couldn't have had a better time. Prices are ridiculously reasonable and the staff are amazing. Every single person we interacted with from the rental counter to the ski lessons to the lift lines was friendly and helpful. Great attitudes and lots of patience, which was desperately needed as the slopes were full of newbies on the long weekend. Special shout out to the ski school - my kids started at zero and by the end of the weekend my ten year old was going down blues with me. Their instructor was incredibly patient and knowledgeable. No, this is not the place for you if you want to shred double black diamonds or rub elbows with celebs at après-ski, but if you are in socal and thinking about whether it's worth the drive to come here, it is no contest. This place is absolutely perfect for families and you will not regret your decision.

Rachel G.

Yelp
Brian Head Resort was great! My husband took snowboarding lessons and had the best experience, thanks to his instructor, Kevin. He was at Navajo. My husband felt he got value-received, and would definitely go back. While he took his snowboarding lesson, my son and I went to the cafe inside and relaxed in the quiet, full picturesque window, and clean surroundings. The employees were friendly, helpful, and made our order perfect. Would recommend a stop inside to the cafe, especially getting their hot chocolate. We will be back to Brian Head Resort!

Rachelle R.

Yelp
Everything was good minus the front desk staff very weird experience and unhelpful...Work on the FRONT DESK PEOPLE!!!!

Beth M.

Yelp
The new management is horrible and is price gouging. Cost us nearly $500 for our child to have lessons. When booking they didn't mention that you had to also buy a lift ticket. So we paid $270 for lessons and then were charged an extra $200 for lift ticket, which was never mentioned when we originally booked. They wouldn't honor the lift ticket price from when we booked lessons. Horrible customer service and was treated very poorly. So unorganized. Use to love this place but will not be back. Lost a long time customer over your miss management.

Shantel M.

Yelp
Love how open the hills are. Lifts available, lodging, restrooms and a cafeteria available to take a break.

Johnson W.

Yelp
We love Brian Head Resort!! - Kids under 12 ski for free is a big catch - there wasn't much crowded people - food price was reasonable - Airbnb was also reasonable - 2 minutes drive to the ski resort - being at elevation of 10,000 feet, so the snow doesn't melt as fast as many other ski resorts - Ski rentals was reasonable at third party shop Our annual year end trip is 10 days, our main goal was taking kids to Zion National Park, since we planned 4 nights in Zion, kids also need to have their part of fun, so we picked Brian Head for 4 nights as well, so kids can enjoy 3 days of skiing, and they actually wanted extra days after the three days.. Not to worry!! We will be back!!!

Yelp
Brian Head has become our go-to skiing destination in the United States. It's neither the biggest hill nor the most technically challenging one, but it's far enough away from the great skiing around SLC that it doesn't get the enormous crowds. The hills are well maintained, the pro shop and restaurants are well run, and the town of Brian Head is cute and picturesque.

Pete F.

Yelp
Brian Head is a nice family resort in Southern Utah. It's about 2.5 hours past Vegas, so not as far as SLC. Compared to Mammoth, the drive is about an hour or so further but it's almost completely freeway, vs. highway 395. On a holiday week, the lines were very short. The longest we waited was no more than 10 minutes. The service was fine and staff was friendly. Compared to the large resorts, it's considerably less expensive and less crowded. But the mountain is fairly small. With a high base of ~9,500 ft and a peak of 11,000 ft, the elevation drop is modest. It's about a mile from top to bottom. There isn't much variety. So it's probably not ideal for advanced skiers. The resort is geared towards beginner to intermediate and families looking for a nice experience without breaking the bank. Overall I enjoyed Brian Head for a relaxing time although I did wish there was more challenging terrain to conquer.

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Brian Head is a great place for beginners: very wide, not too steep, and soft snow to fall on (given snowy weather). Don't be intimidated by a long line at the Navajo Express because this lift leads to 4+ more trails that lead to other trails, so the trails are all quite empty (and wide)! @New Riders: After you learn how to hit your brakes and change direction (well enough), I recommend new riders to go on "The Split" trail (a branch from the Paradise trail on the left) via the Navajo Express! This trail is super wide and not too flat (like the Bunny), so you'll learn how to control yourself a lot faster! You need momentum to ride; it's difficult learning and no fun being stuck on a flat area. @Intermediate+: There's a LOT of flat areas and NO park (ramps, jumps, etc) set ups, so this wouldn't be my first choice. This is definitely more of a family trip vibe than a skills trip, but it's still fun experience riding on such powdery snow and having so much free space!

M V.

Yelp
A cute town and ski mountain. Unfortunately for a family friendly mountain. We left feeling quite the opposite. We booked private ski lessons for our boys and once there/checked in were told we had to create a separate reservation due to age parameters. For one, the computer system should have caught that...secondly for privates to add another child it is an up charge of $150 per child. That's fine, however due to the age parameters we were expected to pay for a completely separate lesson at over $300. This is NOT family friendly at all and a disgusting money grab. Third on top of all of that, rentals are not included with a lesson so another $65 money grab for each kid...we paid close to $1000 for lessons for our kids, yep this is for just one day! This has completely deterred us from wanting to come back. Kids ski free, but anyone trying to get their kids in the sport are clearly paying for that. Nickel and diming people is a terrible practice! And fourth...we were lied to about the instructor that we requested for one of the kids on the second day. My child was extremely confused as to why we were told she had a family event and then we saw her instructing. She was also quite upset about the situation. The staff was busy picking up the pieces of managements mismanagement. Great staff, but we will likely continue our ski trips at other mountains that actually are "family friendly"

Yelp
Brian Head snow is just difference. I grew up in Hawaii and lived in Southern California for over 10 years, so this was my very first time seeing falling snow. It snowed 16 inches overnight on the day we arrived. The next two days were pristine snow conditions along with sunny skies. I loved that my first ski trip had amazing snow and was so memorable with all the friends that my husband and I went with. We skied for two days in a row, and both days we took lessons in the morning. The check in process was simple if you arrive early to give yourself time to get your rentals and gear. Daryl and CW were our instructors, and they were both phenomenal and made us feel comfortable and confident for first-time skiers. By the end of the second day we were regularly going down the Najavo and Paradise hills with our friends who had been snowboarding for years. They all said we're good to go! I've found a new winter hobby and I will make sure I keep working out to be able to do trips like these in the future. Brian Head is just a 3.5 hour drive from Vegas, so the location is ideal for the best snow conditions without having to travel too far.

Alberto M.

Yelp
Drove in from Vegas for a weekend in Utah and of course, I had to hit the slopes! The process to finding the spot was easy, I was led by GPS to the Navajo Express area which is neat and taken care of. I showed up quite late as I forgot there's an hour change between Nevada and Utah, so got there by 1pm! I was a bit disappointed to find out that there is an "afternoon" special which cost $100 for three hours for me... dang! I like the area but give me a better special, please! Other than that It's cool to come to this area...

Cheryl S.

Yelp
Great place to beat the heat. Scenic lift ride was beautiful. This is receiving is a 2 star due to the nearly naked employee working the kids area. We come from Vegas to escape 100* weather, but also to avoid the inevitable show girls with our kids. Seems brian head is now hiring them to work with children. I am disappointed.

Virginia L.

Yelp
I give this place 5 stars because of our experience with Kevin, our snowboarding instructor. He had the best energy, positive outlook, and he was ready with his música!! 2 of us hadn't snowboarded in years and 1 of us was totally new. Kevin taught all of us patient, he made it fun, and he corrected us when needed. We started with basics and then went to the Navajo lift, it was so much fun to snowboard with someone who makes learning fun. Would highly recommend asking for Kevin for a snowboarding class.

Jeff P.

Yelp
First time to Brian Head. Snowboarding was fun and crowd was nonexistent. Downside . . . ate lunch at the Giantsteps cafe and got aggressively ill immediately thereafter. Had a burger and started feeling suspect about 20 minutes in. About 2 hours later threw up the whole thing and was on my back for 12 hours. My friend I was traveling with had chicken tenders in Cafe two days earlier with same result. I couldn't imagine she got sick from the food which is why I ate there. It was the food. They need to do a heavy eval of their sanitation routine. Do NOT eat the food in the meantime.

The H.

Yelp
Cancelled reservation within 10 minutes due to location being inaccurately listed. Management was willing to cancel the reservation but unwilling to give a refund of any kind. Beware! Willing to take my hard earned money in exchange for NO goods and services! This is called theft. Take your business elsewhere!

Ali S.

Yelp
Best place for kids! Signed three of my kids up for private lessons with Lydia. She was over the top amazing in every way. Great energy, happy and very patient. She got all three of my kids skiing confidently. Kelsey was super helpful in getting our kids signed up! The whole ski school staff (Daniel and others) were so kind and supportive. Thanks for making our first whole family ski trip such a success!

Jacob B.

Yelp
Brian Head is a good ski resort for beginners. They offer tons of small runs which are pretty good. They also have tons of space in the Navajo section of he resort. Tons of space for beginners. The only drawbacks is that the person who was servicing us in the front gave us tickets for the next day. This was extremely frustrating because we had limited time. Also, visibility sometimes can be very poor at times. Finally, a ski instructor hit me and just went off. He asked me if I was ok, but didn't bother to help me up or even offer me any help.

Jenny D.

Yelp
Alisha should not ever work with the public. Rudest person. If you hate people then find a new job. The rest of the staff, especially Haley, are incredibly nice.

Justin M.

Yelp
I was hitting the slopes today and one of my snaps came off went down to the shop and my guy walker fixed me up this place is great and most of the people are helpful just be respectful, if y'all need a fix or was hit the shop up

Ruth W.

Yelp
We are season regulars and we enjoy it each every visit. Family oriented and just amazing resort - this is our 10 year coming during winter. Our kids learned to snow board and eventually added a handful of private lessons. Worth every shiny penny for the lessons. They are now 18 & 14. They look forward to coming. Thanks to this resort - we have many many memories.

Spencer K.

Yelp
Despite being one of the lesser known resorts, Brian Head is a pretty great spot to ski & snowboard without breaking the bank. Nice staff, good runs, & decent facilities provide for a solid experience.

Topet B.

Yelp
Best of the best if you're living in Las Vegas! Drive is only 3 hours away and its well worth it. The small town and shops around the resort is convenient. If you rent a cabin you're bound to be close to the lifts. Excellent service by the employees. Jacoby was is my guy to do any maintenance on your gear. We have been going to this resort for a decade and they continue to not disappoint. Parking is literally a walk away to the lift and the lodge. 10/10 on all aspects!

Annie H.

Yelp
I'm in love with Brian Head, change my mind if you can! As a beginner snowboarder, I've always had trouble on nearby mountains. Riding at Brian Head as been a godsend location for me to learn and feel more confident. The mountains and scenery are beautiful, and there is so much room for everyone, and not to mention real snow!! (I'm from SoCal/Vegas, don't judge haha). The staff has always been SO nice, they all deserve raises. From the ticket booth counter, the woman was so nice and accommodating for me and my bf. I don't remember her name, but I will add it once I remember! We had an personal incident and she was able to help us out with our situation and made our stay at Brian Head much more stress free at the time! Mountain staff are super patient and nice as well! As a beginner, I struggle with the chair lift (still do), and they've always been attentive and know I fall off every time haha, without me saying anything, they slow it down for me since I'm so slow and wobbly. I haven't tried paying for lessons here yet, but even the instructors who are teaching others have stopped to give me tips when they saw me struggling! Overall super good vibes here, and will definitely be coming back during winter seasons!

Rebekah R.

Yelp
This is our third year skiing Brian Head and absolutely love it! We travel with another family and we always get our two boys a private lesson to start off our week of skiing. The had instructor, Sam Kovac, the boys immediately bonded with Sam. He really helped the kids feel comfortable going out of their comfort zone. The boys loved him so much, we called and requested an additional lesson with Sam on our last day of skiing. Once Sam was confirmed for our boys, they were so happy. After their last lesson with Sam, they can't wait to come back and hopefully have Sam as an instructor again. Thank you, Sam, for making our boy's vacation extra special. As my son says, Sam is the best!

J F.

Yelp
Brian Head is a little over an hour north of St.George Utah and the snow can't be beat! The skate rink just opened for the season and was amazing! The views were spectacular and the company was memorable! You won't be disappointed!! Skating starts at 3:00 but when the sun goes down you will have the whole skating rink to yourself!

Brian A.

Yelp
Mountain is just ok. My comment is that the operation of this place (like Lee Canyon) is a disaster. I have been here for 3 days now and the lockers are cash only which is weird in 2024. The issue is the only ATM at the resort is out of business so there is no way to get a locker. Let's get your act together and be a professionally managed ski resort please.

Peter G.

Yelp
Not the best experience but planning on my part could have maybe saved the pocket book a bit more. We came here on a Wednesday morning and there was barely Anyone there! We parked 100 ft from the lift :0 The drive up the mountain gets narrow and if there is ice on the ground there will be some difficult turns to make. I'd recommend 4x4 and possibly chains if snowing. Based on what my buddy says Navajo Express is the best trail/lift to start. https://www.brianhead.com/snow-report/ The lift ticket experience isn't the best. The price fluctuates so much and MAKE SURE YOU BUY IT IN ADVANCE. Same day lift tickets based on the other reviews and my experience jump up in price $20-$45. I understand the weekend but some random weekday with maybe 50 people total on the mountain? Also yes... No more military/veteran discount. "We are under new management" :( The lodge is okay. There's like 30 tables. The food at the cafe is mehh... I think it's dijorno pizza ...hahahaha... The garden salad was fresh. The man running the register is super friendly and nice. The mountains have some pretty good and chill runs... Nothing really over 30 minute rides though. FYI 2 hour ski lessons were almost $300 ....hahahaha... Good luck with that if you're a beginner. I think they have their own page so I'll separate the review but if you need ski/snowboarding equipment go to Georg's. That beautiful family that owns that shop gave me a ride when the shuttle never showed up and let me sit inside their shop when it was -22°F. They actually had nice stuff in their shop better than the store at Navajo. Georg's is a 5 minute drive down the mountain past Navajo or you can take the Navajo lift up and snowboard there (: if you know what you're doing you can get there in 10 minutes after the lift ride. There is a huge map on top of the first lift ride (not the bunny Slope lift on the far left of Navajo) Again buy your lift ticket early and visit Georg's

Marc C.

Yelp
Great trip to Brianhead Resort again. Wanted to give honorable mention to my daughters ski instructor Shayne Whitehead (A.K.A Oso). Oso was fun and dedicated to his students. My daughter requested more lessons after day one because Oso made the experience great. The instruction was top notch and he catered great to her development from a beginner/intermediate to a very intermediate/advanced intermediate over 3 lessons. My 7 year old wanted to keep doing lessons and looks forward to skiing with Oso again in the future! Thanks Oso!

Tailisa B.

Yelp
I loved it it was my first time at a ski resort we took the kids they had a blast ski'ing all day I was a little more scared so I went tubing which was super fun too! Definitely recommend.

Paris S.

Yelp
Lovely lovely place I love coming here to getaway. every winter it's such a joy coming back here. The staff is wonderful they're always at my beck and call. Brian Head Lodge is so wonderful as well. Such a spectacular ski resort will forever love it.

Lauren N.

Yelp
Came here at the end of March on a Friday to snowboard and was not let down. We came on a day where it was actively snowing, so visibility wasn't the best, but they did do their best to plow the streets to allow cars to access the roads. The lift tickets here are less expensive than Mammoth or Tahoe and (I can't attest to it since I haven't boarded at either) according to my boyfriend, the boarding/powder is way better here. It was a great place for beginner snowboarders (it was my friend's first time) as the powder helped cushion your fall AND the slope when getting off the lift was extremely mild. I remember getting off lifts at other places and being terrified because it was so steep. The slopes are clearly marked multiple times throughout the route so you don't accidentally end up on a Black Diamond. If you like weaving in between trees, there's plenty of opportunity for that here as well. All of the lifts were open when we went and it wasn't too crowded or tough to get on one. I only ever waited in line for up to a max of maybe a few minutes? I got to Brianhead at 10:30am and they weren't actively scanning lift tickets at the time, but when it got a bit busier in the afternoon, they started requiring the scan. No issue on my end, it was pretty smooth and quick all around. The reason why I docked a star was because of their lack of COVID safety in the rentals area. It's a pretty tight space indoors and they weren't doing a great job of regulating traffic. The staff manning the rentals were not wearing their masks properly (it wasn't covering their mouth or noses). When the lifts closed, a ton of people piled back into the building to return their rentals with little traffic control.

Yelp
This review is for Navajo lodge and ski lift in Brian Head. This is probably one of the best ski resort for beginners and intermediates because of long bunny hills and green slopes. There is a shuttle that runs circles around the town that you can use for free to get to the ski lodge. Once you get to the Navajo lodge, there is guest services that can help you. They have a small coffee shop and small food court. Ticket booths are inside on top floor. Rental and lockers are at the bottom floor. I was there for holiday weekend and rental plus lift for a day was close to 200, it was very expensive. Equipment looked nice and new. They have lockers, small one for $10 and bigger one for $12. It was very hard to use the locker screen because it was very old and I think it lost some Sensitivity, they should fix it. Also make sure you pick right locker, left side is 12 right side is 10. I started skiing at the bunny Hills, they have a very nice lift and bunny Hills is very long, I enjoyed practicing at the bunny Hills. Then I moved to Navajo lift. At the top everything is clearly marked, I used two ski trails. Navajo trail was perfect for me as intermediate. Other one was paradise trail, it was also very good. They load lifts from two sides, left and right. Left looked less people at each time. Lift is fast and takes 5 people. Staff was friendly. If you are beginner or intermediate, I suggest Navajo lodge and lift in Brian head.

Yelp
Brian Head is a great place for families. Our trip was fantastic. A special thank you to ski patrol - McKenna and AJ who helped my daughter after she took a bad fall while snowboarding. Your kindness and professionalism are appreciated.

Yelp
Reviewing from the standpoint of a Vegas Newb snowboarder who finally has his own gear this season. Service: Friendly staff in the ticket office, pro-shop and food areas. The crew working the ski lifts were efficient with getting everyone on quickly Slopes: The high base elevation provides some really good powder. The Giant Steps slopes is wide with plenty of options to get down the hill. The crowds are generally significantly less than our other options out of Vegas. (Mammoth and Big Bear) which makes it less intimidating for me. Less traffic + Soft Powder to fall on + wide slopes = great slopes to spend a day on. My first visit here I got hit pretty bad with elevation sickness: Dizziness, hangover, nausea, more or less a bad hangover. I stayed hydrated throughout this visit and all went well. A short 3 hour drive out of Vegas gets me a great snowboard experience over a regular weekend. There's not much really to do in Brian Head except Board and Ski. If that's all your planning to do, Brian Head offers the best value in terms of distance, slopes and pricing. See you on the slopes! =)

Yelp
From the counter to buy tickets and lessons, to the rentals, to the lessons instructor (Lauren is a rockstar!), the cafe, the store, and let's not forget Ski patrol were ALL fabulous! Our experience was memorable. I have not one negative thing to say. Only positive feelings. Everyone was organized, warm, helpful, and patient.

Yelp
I had the best time snowboarding in Navajo. This review is NOT about my snowboarding experience. This is solely about the food court and a certain employee. Apologies for anyone with a sensitive stomach. I also feel bad for leaving this review but this MUST be addressed IMMEDIATELY. My boyfriend and I watched the cashier in the food court area pick her nose with her long nail and immediately put the same nail in her mouth. She didn't just do it once or twice or thrice. We literally lost count while eating our food. It was so weird because she wasn't even trying to be discreet about it. She was openly doing it in public. She also kept touching her nose and whole face. At one point, she ate fries with her coworker at the cashier's station (unprofessional but honestly the least of our concerns) but we had to watch her get some sauce and touch everything that customers touch after what we already witnessed. We were just in shock.... The following day we saw her again and it didn't seem like she was working because we saw her very briefly. My boyfriend saw her and immediately told me she's doing the same thing! Picking her nose and putting it in her mouth! In less than five seconds that I glanced at her, I saw her do it again! This is SO concerning and like I said above, it should be addressed immediately. Imagine what happens to food that guests eat while being prepared in the back.....

Yelp
Just know there are no ski lessons or snowboarding lessons here. While the website has it there are none. My son learned to snowboard here when he was younger. Very disappointing as the whole family drove 8 hours to get here and was skiing/snowboarding and my daughter was not about to do lessons at another resort. So she was taught by her cousins. Never heard of a ski resort not having lessons.

Yelp
I traveled to Brian Head from Vegas for my first skiing trip, but met with some difficulties along the way. The website to book my travel was absolutely terrible and needs a complete overhaul. It was an absolute terrible experience trying to book the hotel, lift, equipment, and lessons. The website was not clear at all and I tried contacting customer service for support 7 times over the span of two weeks and never reach through to anyone and never got a call back. After that I gave up and did the best I could to try and figure it out on my own. Worst experience ever. Overall, the rental portion of my trip was not bad, but could have been better. The staff was friendly, but when I explained that I wear two different sized shoes, he said it didn't matter and gave me the same boot size for both feet, making it uncomfortable on my left foot to wear the ski boot. The quality was alright, but the ski equipment was worn down and needed refurbishment. The efficiency issues I had stem from the issues trying to book it online and the problems trying to get dates to match. I took lessons while i was there and my brother and I took beginner lesson on Wednesday 2/15 with CW. He was amazing and a great instructor helping us learn the basics, despite the fact that it was -1 and felt like -18 during the blizzard that was happening that day. He made me feel competent to go down the slopes and even helped me go up a lift for the first time. The private lesson my brother took the next day was not good, and definitely not worth the price given the level of knowledge the tutor had. The Instructor did not seemed qualified to be teaching. she did not have the social aptitude or the vocabulary knowledge to assist me in learning. I took a group lesson the first day and wanted a private lesson on the second hoping to learn more, but did not get the knowledge i expected to given the price for the private lesson. Overall, the staff was horrible, but the slopes were lots of fun to go down!

Yelp
Sure wish I came on yelp before I booked my reservations. My bad, I miss read the policy and thought you could cancel 48 hours prior and get a refund. DO NOT BOOK UNLESS YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU ARE GOING. You may have an emergency and need to cancel but that doesn't matter either. NO REFUNDS. But they do offer you a credit, if you can fly back from Hawaii within two months. They just made $200.00 off of me and will probably make another $200.00 by rebooking someone else. Very Sad!!!

Yelp
The slops here are beginner to intermediate so if you're learning its perfect! My friend took his son snowboarding for the first time, after 2.5 days he was starting to get it and was really excited. The first day we took him on the beginner slope, with the "magic carpet" which means you don't go up a lift, just a conveyer belt takes you to the top of the really slight incline, They both bought tickets, but i don't think you need to purchase tickets for this part, you can just go for free. Not 100% but no one was checking their day passes. The mountain is separated into 2 sides a beginner (Navajo) side and an intermediate/advanced (Giant Steps) side. By day 2 my friends son was able to go up Navajo lift, its not that steep right off the lift and i think its easier to learn on a slope thats not super flat and also longer so you can just keep heading down for a longer distance. By the end of the trip he was able to go down the Navajo lift heal side without falling or only falling once or twice. Not bad for his first 2.5 days! The Giant Steps side I'd consider Intermediate maybe a bit more than that at some places depending on the conditions. Some of the runs are good, but too short for me. It also totally depends on the conditions. The first day i was there, there had not been any new snow for at least 4 days, it was pretty blah, icy conditions, short runs, slow lifts; I was glad not to be at work but not super enthusiastic. The good thing about the resort is that it's Utah's highest ski resort at 9600 feet. So for day 2 we got 7" over night. The fresh powder was super light and fluffy and i had untracked powder for the first hour or so. The resort is only 650 acres so it gets tracked over pretty quickly, but as in any resort there are always hidden pockets for pow that you can find in the middle of the day, in fact i found a nice pocket of steep and deep powder at the end of the day! The good thing is that there are not too many people there so the lines are pretty short and not much waiting, the bad thing is that most of the lifts are very slow, there is only 1 high speed quad on the Giant Steps side. It's a 3 hour drive from Las Vegas, I'd come back to make another combination Vegas/snowboard trip, but only if i knew there was going to be fresh snow.

Yelp
Unfortunately there is not a zero option. This was absolutely the most frustrating and miserable thing from recent memory. This review is for their disc golf course. If you go, you must carry a lot of water, have hiking boots, hiking pants, walking stick and binoculars. We have never played before but wanted to. You ride the lift to the top of the mountain 11,000 ft +, you then follow some signs around the top of the mountain and finally get to tee #1. The signage was fine to this point. You stand at tee 1 and you have absolutely ZERO idea where the basket is that you are aiming for. You pull out the map that they give you and it is absolutely useless and in many cases just wrong. We found a trail guide that works for the resort and he had no idea where the #1 basket was. So we hiked around for a while and finally found it. We just threw our discs from that point. Then you have to walk through waist high weeds to get to the basket disturbing all the flies, bees and other insects while walking to the basket. Then you need to find tee #2. There was a sign that pointed in a direction so we did our best to hike in that direction over and around trees, thick bushes and just miserable stuff. Once you do all that and your winded because it is 11,000 ft elevation, then you have to try to figure out where the #2 bucket is. Repeat for each hole. As I said it was miserable. Much of the time you are walking on loose rock and shale. Wife and I twisted both of our ankles and one point I slid down the trail about 50' like I was surfing, that was very scary. We gave up after 9 holes and walked a trail back to the lodge and demanded our money back. The assistant director of sales who I was explaining my complaints to was pretty much laughing and at that point, my head almost exploded. You have been warned if you choose to do this activity or deal with this company for anything.

Yelp
Brian Head offers a great getaway for Las Vegans during the summer when it's too hot to go outside at home and in the winter for those seeking the fun of snow. There are not many services in the town so don't plan to eat out a lot, buy a lot of gas, or go out for a crazy night on the town. Throughout town, you will find abundant ATV and snowmobile trails. Summer: There are nice hikes throughout the area and the chairlift runs so mountain bikers can enjoy the thrill of the downhill. There are numerous cycling paths spanning from relatively easy to extremely difficult. ATV'ing is a popular past time for those visiting. Thunder Mountain rents ATVs and also takes people out for group rides. Winter: Southern Californians frequent Brian Head because they find good snow (of course, nothing like what is found farther north) with smaller crowds than in their local ski areas. There are slopes from beginner to double-black diamond and there is a separate lodge for the ski school and beginning slopes so slower skiers and more experienced skiers can each enjoy their unique environments. Boarders will enjoy the bowls and skiers and boarders alike will find jumps and ramps to their delight. In a good snow year, powder skiing through the trees is delightful. For those who wish to enjoy the snow in alternative ways, there are two official tubing hills and snowmobiling is very popular for both locals and visitors. Again, Thunder Mountain rents snowmobiles and they guide snowmobile tours. An Added Bonus: Cedar Breaks is only 15 minutes away so be sure to enjoy the beauty of this national monument while visiting.
