The food was delicious and the service was good. The prices were fair and the atmosphere was nice. Definitely recommend for your next family dinner😊

Brians is a family diner with tasty food. The servers are friendly and do a great job. The food is good but neither concerning nor exceptional. The prices are very fair. I do enjoy the rice pudding, that is exceptional!

Brain’s Family Restaurant has been one of my favorite restaurants since my childhood! It’s always on my bucket list whenever I visit my hometown! The food tastes delicious, and the customer service is always on point! YouTubers ~ McAndrew Travels & Twisted Crimes With Chris and Heather

It's a nice old diner. The food was delicious and hot. The waitress was friendly and fast. Is an older place but clean and kept up. UPDATE:05/05/25 Stopped in for a quick breakfast. The food was hot and delicious. The waitress was slow. She was too busy talking to her favorite customers and in no hurry to take the order of the customers that just came in. I, along with a man at a different table, were left waiting. She almost walked past me once she finished chatting with her usuals. Didn't bother coming back after dropping off the food until she wanted to give me the check.

I wish I took a picture of my food but it was so good I forgot. I got the fettuccine Alfredo and it was amazing. They give great portion sizes and the side salad was great. Also, the price for what you get is crazy good. Service was great.

First time having a meal here. I ordered the meatloaf and au gratin potatoes special. I shared half my meal with my mother-in-law and she said it was some of the best meatloaf she has had at a restaurant, Considering she is 85 years old, that means it's really good. I loved the au gratin potatoes the most but also loved the meatloaf! Thank you for a great meal. P.S. My husband and his mom loved the mini corn taco appetizer!

Google
Great spot for a family dinner! The food was flavorful, the service was solid, and the prices were reasonable. The atmosphere made it feel welcoming and relaxed. Definitely worth checking out for your next night out with the family.

Yelp
I stopped at Brian's on a whim. I was greeted immediately and by multiple people. The restaurant is decorated for the holidays, which was very festive. Once I was seated, Rebecca (my server) greeted me and went to drop off food. She came back and took both my drink order and food order. I ordered a breakfast wrap that also came with hash browns. It came out hot and very quickly. Everything was delicious! I had leftovers because the portion was so big. I will definitely be back to try more items. Although I don't think I can tackle the "Brian's Mega Breakfast" as I'm no Ron Swanson.

Yelp
Great value and service! Next time I am in Lapeer I will definitely go to Brian's Family restaurant again.

Yelp
I have driven by this place for years and just never really knew what they had here. I've heard good things but I usually ended up at the place across the street. Walking in, I was surprised at how cute the inside is. It's newly renovated and it's contemporary farmhouse. I loved the decor and ambiance. It was also busy to for a Tuesday morning at 9:30. My friend invited me to breakfast and she loves this place. I decided to go with the Country Skillet with a biscuit instead of toast. I also took her potatoes since she didn't want them. Double potatoes! Also, I had coffee and I want to say this is one of the smoothest cups of coffee I've had in a long time. Not sure what brand they use but it was REALLY good. We also asked for vanilla creamer which was great to have. The skillet was layered with hash browns, crumbled sausage, scrambled eggs and topped with gravy and served in a small cast iron skillet. It was so delicious. They're homemade biscuits were good and I lathered it in butter and strawberry jam. I could only eat half of it, brought it home and my husband at the other half. He enjoyed it and he usually doesn't care for skillets. Overall great food and ambiance and great price. I heard the lunch/dinner menu was good too so I'll definitely be back to give it a try!

Yelp
I was in town for the weekend and decided to make a quick lunch stop with a friend. I ordered the Grilled chicken fajita wrap and it was juicy and packed with flavor in each bite. The chicken was cooked right and was nice and juicy as opposed to being dry and over cooked. The service was decent. Ambiance is what you'd expect from a little diner. Nothing really overwhelming or memorable about the experience but the food was good.

Yelp
Went here the other day and ordered an omelet and fruit French toast. The service was great, everyone was really friendly and the place was really clean. The food wasn't the greatest. The omelet came with a side of hash browns that was super dry and burnt, and the French toast had waaaay too much egg wash on it, it tasted like egg toast lol. I feel bad because the service was so positive and I really wanted to like this restaurant, but I don't plan on returning.

Yelp
I got food poison from here and I called them and they said oh well no one else got sick so it couldn't of been from here. That's funny it's the last thing I ate.

Yelp
Great spot with a farmhouse themed venue. We were seated in a timely manner and were waited on promptly. The service and food were great! The only downside was the lack of a (grand slam) type breakfast. However, we enjoyed the food and will be back! *great iced tea!

Yelp
asked for a simple dish. steak and eggs with hasbrowns. i asked for medium rare and what I was given was a completely raw steak with raw eggs. I sent it back and it took 10 minutes and what I got back was a literal piece of rubber. driest most overcooked steak I ever had. hashbrowns were not crispy they were wet and undercooked as well. bad experience. I left the place hungry. the ambiance of the place was alright. mediocre resturant. 0/10

Yelp
Good food at a reasonable price. Staff is always friendly and prompt. I never leave there hungry.

Yelp
Haven't been out to full breakfast in awhile so on Sunday chose Brian's. Have been there in the past and don't recall ever having a bad experience with food there and wasn't disappointed this day either! I got the country skillet because I was pretty hungry and it was delicious! I ended up eating my whole breakfast and was full. No complaints from my daughter either on her pancakes and eggs. It was pretty crowded so that should tell you how busy they are on a Sunday, We actually got right in, but as we were leaving, there was a line. Everyone was jolly-employees and customers, so that was a good experience! I will add in case your trying to still avoid crowds because of Covid-there is no requirement for masks or distancing. The checkout desk still has plexi glass up, but I didn't see employees wearing masks either. I do want to thank our waitress for being patient when we sat down-my daughter received an important phone call right after we got our menus and she had no issue trying to rush us and remained a great waitress-friendly and accommodating. The coffee was actually really good also. They had good creamer so maybe that's why...I'm usually not a fan of restaurant coffee. I will be back here for another great breakfast!

Yelp
as a head chef for Debra years and running a 5star restaurant for several years I have to say . Brian's restaurant is amazing . not only the texture of the food , the quantity is great, the presentation of the food is spot on . I have never been to a place that has all around great food , but also great service. even busy , I e had a breakfast and a dinner here and i have not been disappointed . as well as the owners . and or management . well done amazing job . I also felt welcome . for some reason post who is particularly assertive about food texture, tast, quantity, and quality. this place deserves A 20Star rating

Yelp
Went for lunch a few days ago. Very dissapointing. Our waitress stood at our table for a very long time trying to find the food we ordered on a new handheld pos system. That was annoying. I ordered a very simple meal. A club sandwhich and well done fries. The club sandwhich was made up of tasteless lunch meat turkey, one tiny piece of tomato, a couple undercooked little pieces of bacon and a tiny bit of mayo. It was a super dry sandwhich. The fries were warm and chewy, not well done at all. The 2 people that accompanied me ordered breakfast and all of the bacon was super soft and undercooked as well as the potatoes they ordered well done. The server just did not seem to address anything we said to her when ordering. I may be back, would never order a club sandwhich again.

Yelp
I had dinner here yesterday, which was grilled salmon, fried cod, mashed potatoes, and clam strips. It came with a soup of the day, which was perfect for the weather. I would highly recommend this place and I'm thinking of having breakfast there this morning.

Yelp
Went there for the first time since I was a kid a few weeks ago. I took my two boys. One of my sons has a list of allergies that includes dairy, soy, wheat and peanuts. So it is hard for us to find any restaurant we can go into and eat. They were so helpful and accommodating allowing my son to flip a piece of grilled chicken for the breaded chicken (wheat) and do a baked potato instead of fries (undedicated fryer). My other son loved the place, even though they didn't have mac and cheese on the kids menu for him. And my pot roast dinner was incredible. I hope that me and the boys can make our trip a weekly event. Thanks, for caring and all your help with my son's allergies. To me that puts you a mile ahead of nearly any restaurant we go to!

Yelp
Always great food. Never had a bad meal here. Love bringing the grandkids because they are able to choose what they want. Nice variety of food. We love the cream of chicken soup. And breakfast there is reasonable and very good. Service is always friendly.

Yelp
It's reopened! Went here today with my family (group of 5) for Sunday lunch after church. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated and then waited on, but that's normal for a busy Sunday afternoon, and our waitress was kind and got everything right. The new decor reminded us strongly of Joanna Gaines' decorating style, so OBVIOUSLY I had to order the Texas toast with my hobo skillet. It was tasty. My dad ordered the breaded shrimp special and liked it. My mom and sister also ordered breakfast skillets and were likewise satisfied. My grandma ordered sweet and sour chicken, which she liked, although she wasn't super impressed with her broccoli cheese soup. This is the type of place you can go if you want greasy comfort food, a place to take your kids, or just someplace where you can wear sweatpants and sit cross-legged in the restaurant booth without anyone looking askance. Probably not the best food you'll ever have, but certainly enjoyable and not fussy. And sometimes, that's exactly what you need.

Yelp
Best customer service I've ever had! The greeter was friendly. My waitress Melanie did an exceptional job. Very clean and professional. The food filled my tummy and Melanie filled my heart lol. I will now have to go here every day till the day I die.

Yelp
Crap. Total crap. Filthy silverware, dirty dishes, dirty tables, and clueless servers. Owner must be absent. Manager must be on drugs. Nothing else can explain this complete disaster. Oh. One more thing. All I did was crap after eating at this dump.

Allison S.

Yelp
I love going out for steak & eggs, but until now I've searched for at least 2 decades before FINALLY finding a restaurant again that serves a FANTASTIC thick & lean sirloin cooked to perfection! Good scrambled eggs, fluffy. Also, I prefer American fries cooked on the griddle with a little onion & I was accommodated with no problem. Large portions, fair prices. Great server, friendly, prompt & efficient-she was there at exactly the right time for a coffee refill (very good coffee)! Senior discount given without my asking by my server as well. Highly recommend this restaurant, also very clean. Looked at the complete menu & there are numerous food offerings of all types from breakfast to dinner (even a senior section), including specials. This "family style" restaurant is a real gem!

Yelp
I was not impressed after going to a remodeled Brian's last night. service was so-so and the breakfast my wife and I had was less than appetizing. Eggs were over-cooked, sausage was hard and tasted like it had been sitting around most of the day and the toast was dry and barely buttered. Did not finish it. paid our bill and left. This place was our "go-to" for breakfast anytime of the day, not any more. Disappointing.

Judy L.

Yelp
For me a restaurant needs to be clean and organized. It was both when we were there. The food was really good and the service was great. I'll go there again soon.

Yelp
A group of 5 of us stopped in after having a terrible experience at a place in Imlay City. Food was good! I could see the kitchen staff becoming overwhelmed when busy because of how many options they do offer with several different menus. I tried the Chicken Stir Fry which was pretty good - I was kind of nervous because it's kind of a make or break type of thing. As a server myself, presentation was unfortunately lacking. The dish should have come out in a bowl and with a little more rice. My girlfriend is a very picky eater but loved the Chicken Alfredo. I wish I remembered our waitress' name as she was very sweet and engaged in conversation right away - she was also very accommodating and worked hard as she had a couple other bigger tables while also serving us. If I was from the area, I would frequent this place.

Yelp
The last time I was at this restaurant the service was so poor that I never came back. This was at least 10 years ago and apparently nothing has changed. I don't understand how they are still in business. I got the hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and peas, it was horrible. Cold lunchmeat with a little gravy, the peas were overcooked, and the potatoes were tasteless. Everything is prepackaged I believe. My son got some nacho special that he ate very little of. He will eat just about anything but this mess was inedible. I can't see myself ever going back. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Yelp
there was a very nice waiter and a nice scenery and the food was phenomenal also I highly recommen the hamburger

Yelp
Delious salad and hot tea. Very nice service and reasonable prices. Will be a definite go to.

Yelp
Has some decent food here. Insides are pretty nice since the remodel. But service seems to have gotten worse and the wait times for food. May just be due to new staff since the reopening

Yelp
So glad to see this restaurant back open after the terrible fire last year! Great new look inside, very spacious, bright and cheery. Great new menu items! Always love the friendly staff too!

Yelp
This place is a joke we use to eat here but no longer foods cold nothing is fresh so yeah go across the street and go to Leo's...

Yelp
In Lapeer for a wedding and stopped into Brian's for breakfast. The lot was full, which is always a good sign. Walking in - it looked much like any other family diner I've been to. The hostess was friendly and we were seated immediately. The menu was huge and included all day breakfast. My son and I both got skillet meals - a large helping of hash browns covered with bacon, scrambled eggs and cheese - then smothered in sausage gravy. Holy cow was that good! As a side we got hit apples with cinnamon - that was like a hot apple pie without the crust and they were ... incredible! My wife had an omelet with hash browns that were cooked perfectly and my daughter had a breakfast sandwich. Overall an excellent meal and if I'm ever back in Lapeer, MI - I will be stopping at Brian's.

Yelp
I like this place. I read other reviews, and it sounds like people take offense to the decor and otherwise old-feeling interior. They're right, this is not a modernized, renovated establishment. But the food we all ordered was good, the service was great, and time to receive the food was fast. They knew how to handle kids as well -- our three year old was treated first to crayons, and her food came out first. I've been here before, and I feel the food portions have decreased. But it was still filling and I would happily come back again.
google avatar

Cindy D.

Yelp
If I could give this place a 0 I would. I took my brother and his family from out of state here and it was horrible. While we did take a bit to order but not long, it took a long time to get our food. They were not busy. There was 4 other tables and we were a table of 6 and there was 3 waitresses. 1) my sister-in- law got a bagel with MOLD on it. 2) my daughter had shivelled blueberries 3) there was some weird grey stuff on my sil omelette 4) 3 of us had cold hash browns. 5) took forever for a drink refill. Never again will I go here.

Yelp
Absolutely in love with this establishment! They have wonderful breakfast skillets and attentive, caring service.

Yelp
Great little family restaurant. Love the Brian's burger and they have decent all you can eat fish Friday. Good value and decent staff. I enjoy just about everything from the dinner menu except the canned vegetables. I also do not recommend anything from their breakfast menu, not sure why but they can't grasp it yet. Love the Brian's burger with extra green olives and the olive spread when they have it.
google avatar

Tiffany W.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I have eaten here twice and were not impressed with either visit. Food was undercooked and they serve cheap processed chicken.
google avatar

Morgan B.

Yelp
I've been here several times and the food is alright, but the service is always the same: slow and inattentive. It took me 20 minutes this afternoon just to get my order taken, by which time I had already finished my drink.. it was never refilled, despite me asking for one. The initial drinks took 5+ minutes to come out. Our food did not all come out at the same time, even though it was only 3 of us and not a large party. After our dishes were cleared, we had to wait another 20 minutes just for the server to bring the check. I have had a similar experience every single time I have been here and I will not be giving it another chance. The poor service is not worth the wait for food that is only average.
google avatar

Taylor H.

Yelp
Decent food , however I've never had any lyck with the staff. They always seem so angry.

Scott B.

Yelp
The restaurant was clean and the service was excellent. My wife ordered the farmers omelette and I had my usual eggs, hash browns and toast. All were serviced hot and quickly. The portions were excellent and my wife had left overs to take home. Recommend putting this restaurant on your places to visit list.
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
I feel at home when I come here. The waitresses get to know you and take care of you until you walk out the door! All food is homemade and they are very fast! I have never not enjoyed coming here. They take care of the business and their customers.
google avatar

Cindy C.

Yelp
Worst place I have ever went to eat in many years. Half of the table got their food and then the waitress tells us that there is more chicken to complete the other orders at the table. Then all of a sudden there is chicken and the dishes were delivered cold and gooey. Where did the chicken come from all of a sudden we asked the manager. She tells us that they found some sitting on their grill from an order that another guest that changed their mind. The manager was extremely rude and was quit a bitch to be honest. We told her it was our first time eating there and instead of trying to make the customer happy she flips her hair around and says it was a busy day for them because it 'Mothers Day' Well thanks for ruining out 'Mothers Day' dinner out with family that we only see once in a great while. Never offered a discount or anything. HORRIBLE. Will NEVER return! HIGHLY recommend NOT GOING TO THIS PLACE. Kind of DIRTY also.. Smh!!!

B H.

Yelp
Got the best service and food! So in love with the French dip supreme. Special thanks to the wonderful lady that gave great recommendations and tips. Thank you for a great dining experience.

Yelp
This place is what it is. Very good value for the food you get. Great place for breakfast or anything greasy. Brian's is my place in lapeer to get a quick cheap meal.

Ezlay C.

Yelp
Well I guess this where you go when you retire The food was easy to chew. Now that I think about it I did feel regular that day. I know they have rice pudding. All in all ok stick with breakfast.

Joseph K.

Yelp
Just wanted some coffee and to check out the menu for future reference. In half an hour all I received was my original cup, no checking in for refills, nada. Considering there wasn't many customers and two servers, there really isn't an excuse for that.

Alex S.

Yelp
Brian's is my go-to place every weekend. We like the food and we love our server, but that's the key part to having a good experience. Some of the servers are slower and less attentive, we get MeShell and she takes care of us as if we were her kids.
google avatar

Yelp
Sadly I used to love this place, the food was okay, service okay, but my issue is the inside is dirty, dingy and it stinks because I really used to love this place. my hope is they will do at least a minor remodel and keep it cleaner.

Ashley T.

Yelp
Oh...I feel bad leaving this review. The younger guy, who is always there and I believe is the manger, is such a nice guy! But that's about all. Every thing else falls short... dirty, bad service, luke warm food, bland tasting food. I've been here a few times cause they're the only non fast food restaurant open until 11pm and it's pretty cheap... those are the only reasons. Each time I hope it will get mildly better, but it doesn't... yuck!

M B.

Yelp
Extremely slow service. 50 minutes and sitting down to getting food. Second time this has happened, was hoping the first time was a fluke. Food is okay. Will not be back

Bluegill B.

Yelp
Having given up on trying any of the seafood selections, from previous experiences and disappointments.... I thought I'd give Brians a final opportunity to win me as a customer. This past visit I went in an opposite direction and ordered the hot roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy..Well...if extremely salty gravy is your thing... and you have an appetite for gravy that is barely lukewarm... this may be your spot... gravy and mashed potatoes lukewarm at best.. server appeared more interested in hooking up with a 20 something year old customer than giving a rip about anything else..... this dinner was not edible so I could not finish it even though I was starving... didn't expect much for $8 just wanted to be able to enjoy it...Brians should probably recieve a one star rating ..but Im not going back so Im being VERY generous with two stars...By the way, a small serving of peas was included...peas were not warm..BUT...I thought they were really good even at room temperature...

Yelp
Better than the awful Farmer's Restaurant across the street, Brian's is a family restaurant with ok to good food and poor to ok service.
