First off we ordered POG to drink. Passionfruit, orange and guava juice. Delicious blend of the 3 juices. Next a medium pizza fed 2 people generously. The crust is thin in the middle. The outside crust is brushed with garlic butter. The pizza sauce is homemade marinara. We had pepperoni, delicious Italian sausage, onions and bell peppers. The menu had a long list of available toppings. They also have sandwiches, pastas. Interesting atmosphere with hand painted humorous murals. Entire place was decorated with old license plates from every state

Google
We got the bbq chicken pizza with garlic butter and garlic mixed cheese bread. The food was fresh and their service was amicable. This place has a small open bar setup and has an ambience of a proper sports bar. The food amazing, piping hot and flavorful. The only downside I saw was that it lacked a bit of garlic flavor. Though they said it had garlic I couldn’t feel the pinch of garlic. Apart from that everything was good and I liked the experience. The place was not crowded on a Sunday night.

Google
Pizza was really good. We got the garlic brush crust, did a half and half with the special of the month which was a pork Hawaiian and also got a meat lovers. It's very good called the bop

Google
We ordered the Hawaiian BBQ Pizza with a wheat crust, which took 20 minutes to prepare. It had a crispy crust, fresh toppings, and very soft chicken topping. The Chef’s salad with ranch dressing was quite refreshing, however, the margaritas were basic but okay. The restaurant had ample parking and no wait for a table, making it a great place to socialize. I highly recommend this pizzeria for their hand-prepared pizzas.

Google
This place has highly rated pizza in Kauai revealed. But they thought the pizza is very good but overpriced. The pizza looked good and the braided crust with the garlic brushed edges looked great. The pizza was very tasty too. I thought the crust was a bit tough to cut with a fork. My wife simply loved the crust texture. The edge crust was great. Good sauce and a well made pie. We did 1/2 mushrooms and half pepperoni We ate it all! There were 4 of us. Andy is correct, the pizza is a bit pricey, but it’s good and if you’re a tourist, like us, it probably will be your cheapest meal out! So we splurged for the cheesy garlic bread too!

Google
Great pizza spot! They have a variety of crust options including gluten free option. We ordered speciality pizza - Hawaiian bbq chicken with wheat crust. The pizza took about 20 mins to arrive but it was straight out of the oven and it was worth the wait. We ordered chefs salad which included a variety of veggies and tasted delicious with ranch dressing - Highly recommended!

Google
The pizza is good. Crust is a little more chewy than I would prefer. The pizza sauce is amazing. We all enjoyed the pepperoni. We got a Margherita pizza and it was just okay. Didn’t enjoy the white sauce. One kid hates pizza and had the Alfredo and enjoyed that.

Nice place, with lot of good choice of pizza and build your own.

Yelp
This is a tough one. Years ago when I first came here, it was for a late lunch, all on my own. The staff were attentive, but the restaurant was mostly empty. One big ohana table otherwise (only 7!). The same happened to me again today. Late lunch, party of one, kind tolerance. Staff are clued in, the pizza hasn't changed in years. It is EXCELLENT, nothing has changed in a decade. In a good way. The Italian sausage is so well seasoned with herbs. The offshoot at Wailua was okay, but the original wins every time. Why is it difficult? Because I live closer to Anahola, and on this side, Silver Cloud pizza is the superlative N side choice for me. They could learn from each other, but in both cases, the crust is superior to every/anywhere else. And ingredients are well sourced. 2 great choices for pizza on the island.

Yelp
We held a large group of 90 to this restaurant. Fairly priced pizza, pasta, wings, and salads. Everything very flavorful. They set up an area for us and served the food buffet style. The staff continually checked on us making sure we were well fed! (Parking is limited.)
google avatar

Pakalana M.

Yelp
Fresh topping, ono sauces for checking wings, we love the open face sandwich and fresh salads

Yelp
Pizza is always delicious here. We visit Brick Oven each time we come to Kauai. The service was average and we were surprised to see that free refills on iced tea and sodas weren't free. But the pizza still brings us back!
google avatar

Yelp
Still outstanding!! Been going here since 1996 they never disappoint. Add garlic butter to the crust of any pizza ... simply great!!
google avatar

Shannon W.

Yelp
Is the service here a little slow sometimes? Sure. And I do not care one bit because the pizza is just so good. We discovered this place in 2006 on our first trip to Kauai and have been back every time we are on island. Always thankful it's still here. The ingredients and pizza are so good but the crust is just next level. I literally crave this pizza and hate I'm not close enough to have it whenever I want. Be sure to save the smallest bit of room for a slice of Aloha pie!!! It's the real reason I eat here.

Tod J.

Yelp
We meet a couple who were tourist that recommended this restaurant so we gave it a try. We would NOT recommend it. Staff was nice and friendly. Crust looked and tasted good, but the pizza did not have any flavor (and we got a 1/2 & 1/2). A frozen pizza would have been better.

Yelp
Aloha My friend and I went to have lunch at brick oven Pizza it's been years since I've been there this was her first time. We bought a veggie pizza was grassy but tasted good I love the zucchini they put on it, it was hard tho. I don't remember it being this way the one in Wailua was much better pizza. They closed that one tho! The veggie salads were a joke 9$ for a normal salad however the ranch was hella delicious had to been homemade. We also got chicken wings they were actually drum sticks the BBQ was very spicy nothing special about it , the customers service was very indifferent towards me but very attentive towards my friend. It's a big place not so loud it wasn't busy. Over all it was mediocre not worth 60$ that's for sure!

Yelp
Heartbroken. This was an institution! The pizza sause was magic and now.... So bland. I ordered an open face hand sandwich, it cost $19!! Look at the picture of it. It used to be so flavorful but this was bland with like, Cisco ham. Ordered cheese bread, they don't even give you sause. $42 pizza.... Never again. The killed the golden goose.

Yelp
This pizza is INSANE. We went hear based on recommendation & were blown away. We got a medium pizza for 2 of us, half Hawaiian BBQ chicken & half margherita. The BBQ chicken half was incredible. Chicken was flavorful, sauce was flavorful, pineapple was awesome. Everything about it was heavenly. Margherita was also very nice but not quite on the same level. We also added the garlic to our whole wheat crust which was a good touch. It was a pretty good amount of food that left some room for dessert. But the BBQ chicken definitely left us wanting more. We took it to go and headed down to the water where we watched the sunset from the dock near the Kauai brewery. Wish we had asked for napkins. 10/10 honeymoon food experience! Doesn't break the bank quite like other dinner spots.

Yelp
This is my favorite pizza EVER!! Well, one of the top 2 best I've ever had in my life- and I love pizza. We look forward to coming here every year. The crust is always perfect, fresh and crunchy! We always get our own pizza so that we have much to take home for the next few days. I wouldn't miss out on this place for the best pizza EVER!!!
google avatar

Kim T.

Yelp
Oh wow! The reviews for this place really live up to the quality of the pizza here with some saying it was the best pizza they ever had in their lives. It certainly ranks right up there with some of the most memorable pizza I have ever had. The crust is buttered which makes it extra delicious and all the ingredients are very fresh and assembled by hand in the back incredibly good pizza dough And delicious sauce to boot! Good service they were busy but managed to get our pizza out fairly quickly and we quickly consumed half of it enjoying every single bite along the way. I also ordered a couple lava flow drinks and they were delicious as well. If you want some freaking amazing pizza get yourself here when you're on Kauai!!

Yelp
We've been stopping here for pizza for 40 years. When our sons were young it was always pepperoni but this time we had the Margarita pizza and it was delicious Always perfect. Mahalo

Yelp
Unbelievable! My family and I have been going to this establishment for over 40 years as we live right down the road from it. I stopped in this evening to get sandwich and a coke on my way back to Kapaa. Haven't eaten here for a few months now. Called and placed a takeout order for a Super Sandwich and a coke. Got to the pick up window and almost fell to the floor when she told me I owed $27+ dollars! Never again! Very sad that they have the local residents who patronize the restaurant through the good ole days and their bad days when all small businesses were struggling but we went to spread the Aloha and help to keep them in business and this is the Thanks we get! No kamaaiana deals no discounts for loyal customers. What a rip off!

Yelp
Delicious... A must for the pizza cravings while visiting Kauai. The brick oven pizza is delicious and yes get the garlic butter on the crust YUMMY. The spaghetti and sauce screams homemade. The atmosphere is really cool with license plates lining the beams in the building. Service was friendly and fast.

Yelp
This pizza is the best! From their homemade pizza sauce to loads of toppings, and don't forget the buttered garlic crust, this pizza doesn't get any better service was friendly and place is clean. Always satisfied here!

Yelp
Great little hole in the wall pizza place. Easy to miss off the highway. Pay attention. Use your GPS info to get there. It's close to this weekend bridge. I will definitely be going back.

Yelp
I had dinner at Brick Oven Pizza with my husband after an evening at Kekaha Beach Park to watch the sunset, and what a delightful surprise it turned out to be! Arriving at around 7:30 PM, just an hour or so before their 9 PM closing time, we were greeted by the delicious aroma of pizza emanating from their brick oven as we strolled through the parking lot. Fortunately, the restaurant wasn't bustling, and we were promptly seated by the friendly and attentive staff. To start our meal, we opted for the chicken wings, which were generously sized, with a perfect crispy skin. We enjoyed them with hot sauce and ranch on the side. Alongside this, we indulged in a Guava Mojito to share, and its sweet, addictive flavor was an instant hit. I kept going back for more sips!! For our main course, we ordered a large mushroom and olive pizza with garlic butter sauce. The pizza arrived with a wonderfully crispy and flavorful crust, and we savored every bite. In fact, we couldn't finish the whole pie, so we took the remaining half with us. The following day, even when served cold, the pizza still retained its delightful crispy crust, a testament to its quality. I wholeheartedly recommend Brick Oven Pizza to anyone in search of delectable pizza; it's a true gem!

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch and had incredibly friendly service, and the pizza was very good. If you don't pay attention, you might miss it passing by. It does not look like much from the outside, but don't let that fool you The barbecue pineapple, chicken pizza had amazing crust very good flavor, and was not greasy. Would highly recommend stopping in. The staff is friendly kind and sharing. Lots of tips about nearby places to go.

Yelp
Disappointing pickup experience. We'd placed a phone order and arrived in 30 minutes, but our order wasn't ready until another 20 minutes later. We sat at the bar and had a drink, but were bothered by a local patron who was drinking a lot and seemed to be driving home afterwards. The staff appeared to know him and continued to serve him anyway. He kept asking questions and pestering us and it made it very uncomfortable to be there. The staff told him to ease off but we were glad to leave as soon as our pizza was finally ready. Unfortunately, the food wasn't great either so we'd give this place a miss in the future.

Yelp
If I went by taste of pizza alone, my review would be 4.5 Lower star value was based on: ordered a green salad for our party of 4 to share with our pizza. It was small so we ordered a second one. The 2nd salad was almost twice the size as the first. When we got our bill, we were charged for a" veggie salad "which was $5 more than the green salad (x2). Because it was our first time here, we didn't know the difference between the 2 until we got the bill. The total on our card receipt was $3 more than the table printout. I lowered the tip by that much. We felt taken advantage of for whatever reason (we're tourons?). Having lived in a tourist town, I knew people who did this and recognize it for what it could be. Hopefully not. Loved all of the fresh ingredients. Superb. Pizza was very good. The old-time red and white checked table cloths and displayed license plates made a fun atmosphere.

Yelp
$404 for 8 people! 3 large pizza and 2 medium pupu pizza , 3 veggie salads, 2 pitchers of beer 2 glasses of wine, and lastly 2 mugs of beer. That's like fine dining prices ! And the pizza wasn't even good! Everything tasted the same! The crust was nothing special. It use to taste good, but not anymore. And certainly not $400 dollars worth. Yikes!! Save your money and get a pizza from Costco.. much more tastier and it's not $40 a pie. The convenience is that they are the only ones that make pizza in the neighborhood, and our waitress was really nice and she was on it. They do charge an auto gratuity for large parties and they charge a service fee for using a credit card (salt to injury)!
google avatar

Madelaine M.

Yelp
This is a delicious pizza place to try if you're visiting Kauai. The service was great and the atmosphere was casual and fun with all the different license plates decorating the walls. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Update: I see people complaining about service and talking about how they looked miserable. That is so messed up honestly. Just because people aren't smiling in your face doesn't make them miserable. And the people were perfectly pleasant to us‍ so seems to be a personal problem to me. Treat people / servers nicely and you will get the same in response . I love the Hawaiians and they have much more tolerance for mainlanders than I do. Maybe show them some respect and don't go to Hawaii acting entitled. One example is complaining about the ambiance because you think it should be more modern ... like seriously?

LaSean H.

Yelp
The First pizza place I experienced here on Island. Pizza and service are great! It keeps me coming back.

Vanessa P.

Yelp
Called in an order and the employee had zero aloha. Said she was busy and didn't have time to total our order, it's the weirdest thing ive ever been told. Then we get it and it's not anything special, but we're starving after a day of hiking and eat it. Within an hour 3/5 of us are experiencing gastric pain. I can't say for certain it was the pizza but it was the only thing we had to eat. I personally will not be back and will instead visit one of my many other local favorite spots.

Yelp
Brick Oven Pizza is a must everytime we goto Kauai. We've had their pizza on Oahu a few times when they were open there but it wasnt the same. The original ones are Kauai are better. We were passing through Kalaheo on he way back from the west side and decided to pick up some pizza. We got two large supers one on white and one with whole wheat and a pupu pizza for the kids. The supers were loaded with toppings. It is winnahs everytime.

Lea A.

Yelp
Only giving it one star because there is no zero! $65 for a pizza that you get nearly burnt and hard as a rock! Granted it was a to go order but even so WHT put out a product like that. SO disappointed. Had a whole box of crust that was thrown out. Interesting side note .. When I took my trash to the cans at our resort and looking for an empty bin -- TWO bins had brick oven boxes and thrown out pizza .. all well over done as mine was. Will not go back. When there is no other choice on that side they don't have to care!! Shame on them! Stock up on tske n bake at Costco!!

Brett C.

Yelp
Pizza was mediocre. Plenty of toppings but crust wasn't how a pizza crust should be. The service was very slow. Half the tables were empty but we waited 25 mins for a table because they had to catch up. Food is way overpriced even by Hawai'i standards and there were no free refills on soda. That seems just petty. Our waitress was pleasant but only showed up to the table a total of three times. After we were finished I had to take my leftovers up to the bar to get a box and the check. The atmosphere in the restaurant was just fine.

Yelp
I've been coming to Brick Oven since I was a toddler and it was always a warm, local-friendly spot. Sadly, that has really changed over the last few years and, after giving it a few more chances recently, I can no longer recommend this place. It's disappointing, but the prices in particular have become absurd for the quality and portion sizes. Cost have been rising everywhere and I understand that, but Brick Oven has gone too far and it seems like they are trying to see just how far they can take it and get away with. They are nickel and diming on everything -- we spent over $90 for 2 pizzas for takeout and when I asked for ranch (none was provided), they wanted to charge $0.75 for a 1oz dressing cup and $0.45 for chili flakes, something standard at literally every other pizza restaurant, and they are passing off credit card fees to the customer (a nice 2.5%). Im sorry, that is just shameful and, frankly, a bit of a slap in the face to the local community that has carried them through a tough times and made them popular. On top of that, customer service for both dine in and takeout have been lackluster and cold; the woman today rolled her eyes at me when I expressed surprise at the extra charges, other times they've gotten orders wrong or forgotten items. Salads are insanely small for cost ($14 for a veggie salad that used to be towering at half the cost and is now small), no more homemade blue cheese dressing that was a favorite, pizza is sloppy and lacking any of the good crunch crust should have, $23 Alfredo pasta that was inedible and, knowing food commercial costs fairly well, could not have cost more than $2 to make. It's sad to say goodbye to a place that's been a comfort restaurant for me, but at this point my family and I will be getting our pizza fix elsewhere. If you are looking for a much better alternative that values its local customers and provides quality portions and ingredients for price, I have a review on my profile for another pizza place on island that is fantastic (won't pit two local businesses against each other and name them here).

Monique R.

Yelp
I've been coming here for over 20 years. Every time I'm on Kauai it's a place I have to visit. They give the kids little balls of pizza dough to play with while you're waiting for your food. (Genius!) We had a garden salad and two kinds of pizzas and they were simply amazing. The barbecue Hawaiian chicken pizza was a total winner - a little bit of spice, pepper, and tangy sauce. Then we got a ham and pineapple pizza. YUM. We got both pizzas with the white crust & added the garlic butter based on another Yelp reviewer's suggestion - so good! Their pizza crust has the perfect combo of crunch and doughy texture. The pizza has been delicious for leftovers too!

Yelp
We loved this place!! Food was amazing and atmosphere was fun and family owned. Great local spot. Highly recommend

Yelp
Nice sports bar, fresh made pizza was very good. The service was excellent. Plenty to look at on the walls and reading all the posted license plates.
google avatar

Kiana K.

Yelp
Terrible food. Terrible service. Worst meal I've aten in YEARS. Place needs to close. Servers hate their job and make you wait for a long time. My total visit was 2 hours and 30 minutes just for a pizza, water & Alfredo.

Yelp
We first tried Brick Oven Pizza last summer and, it may have been one of the top reasons we decided to come back to Kauai this summer! This pizza is absolutely delicious and the service was awesome too. The restaurant was very busy when we came in with our party of 11, including two gluten free kids. We were well taken care of - everything came out hot/fast/exactly as ordered. The ambiance is casual and menu options were fantastic. 5 out of 5 for sure.
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
Always our go too for the best salads, pizza, and believe me cocktails on the island. We brought some friends with us who had never been and they ended up taking a pie to go!
google avatar

Walt P.

Yelp
Great pizza great service zero complaints. I love this pizza place the crust isn't soggy and not doughy. We got the gluten free crusts and by far it's the best GF crust on the island and definitely in the top three of Hawaii. I loved how there was a crisp to the crust. The flavors are great. I loved the BBQ chicken pizza. Fresh bbq taste not bottled tasting. The toppings were ample. The service was great waitstaff was very friendly and the just kitchen was fast.
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
Really really good pizza and the atmosphere is fun with a few TVs for sports. Crust was perfectly cooked and they heap on choke amounts of toppings. Why 3 stars? Ordered pizza for carry out at 7:20 for 8pm pickup and confirmed. When we got there (party of 6) hungry people, she had the deer in the headlights look. I know that look of "I forgot to start your pizzas.." well at 8:22 our pizza were ready and we were beyond hungry. Just order your pizza when you're 20 minutes away and it will spare you the same issue we had. Pizza was a 4.5 for sure.

Chris F.

Yelp
Ordered takeout pizza with ham, pineapple, bacon and mushrooms. Great flavour, delicious garlic crust, lots of toppings and perfect amount of sauce. Ready on time. Absolutely the best pizza on the island, mainland and Canada. You have to get this pizza. Worth the drive. Consistently the best for over 20 years..

Carrie P.

Yelp
We visited this location tonight and the pizza was fantastic! We ordered their Super pizza. The crust and toppings were delicious. I also ordered the white Sangria and it was very tasty and came in a large glass, and was nicely garnished. The service was excellent and we got out food quickly. We would highly recommend.

Sheri F.

Yelp
Love Brick Oven Pizza!!! I have been coming to Brick Oven since I was a kid visiting my grandpa. Now I come every time visiting Kauai (from Seattle). Great pizza and service and love the decor. Brings back childhood memories and tastes great as always!
google avatar

Megan G.

Yelp
Found this place years ago and still love it. Prices are a bit on the high side, but the pizza might be the best on the island. Great crust, if you like it thin, and get it brushed with the garlic butter for extra flavor. We got the chicken caesar salad, to get some greens in you know, but I'd skip it next time. Not their strong suit. We also did teriyaki wings, which were big and juicy. A small order of 7 was enough of an appetizer to feed four while you wait for the main event. The vibe is totally casual. Great for families or friends. And its big enough to accommodate larger parties. Staff was wonderful as well. Will be back again next time we're on island for sure.
google avatar

Phi M.

Yelp
This is probably our favorite pizza place on or off the island. They had friendly service and excellent pizza. The crust was the main star of the show. I love thin crispy crust and they delivered. Both the cauliflower and wheat crusts were amazing. The ingredients were very fresh and tasty. We got a simple margarita and Hawaiian pizza. I wish we had more days on Kauai as I would visit every day it was that good. The only reason why this is not a 5 star restaurant is the ambiance is a bit lacking with dates decor and settings. However they do get the most important thing right and that's the pizza.
google avatar

Katie J.

Yelp
Not A lot of pizza options on Kauai, but this one is my second favorite so far. That statement is based on the pizza . I ordered. Small mushroom and sausage pizza which is perfect for 1 person, and a couple slices to take home. I really wanted to order a dessert pizza, but our food took over an hour to come out and I didn't want to chance waiting another hour for a dessert. They seem short staffed, but we're getting busy just as we sat down. It sook about 15 minutes for anyone to take our order and then even longer to get drinks. I'd say the pizza is worth the wait, but something to work on.
google avatar

Emmie S.

Yelp
One of my favorite pizza places! I always try to come here whenever I come to Kauai. Today's visit really hit the spot since we had just come back from scuba diving. We came on a Saturday afternoon around 12pm and didn't have to wait long for a table. Our server was friendly and efficient. We shared French fries as an appetizer and the BOP "super pizza (Homemade pizza sauce, mozzarella, salami, smoked ham, lean beef, Portuguese sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, black olives, Italian sausage, green onions and bell peppers). Everything was cooked and flavored perfectly!

Diana K.

Yelp
I'm so happy to be able to come to this restaurant it is amazing here but in the bathroom there was a dead cockroach but can not complain it was amazing
google avatar

Alex K.

Yelp
Decent pizza option 10-15 min away from poipu. There aren't many options around but I'd say this is the best option of all of them!

Cameron N.

Yelp
The food was good and atmosphere was really cool but that's about all I can say, I'd give it another shot if it was different service.

Yelp
Don't do it! I have watched this restaurant go downhill in the last 15 years. It was a staple on Kaua`i for many decades and deserved the accolades it received. I have been eating pizza from here since 1977. But, sadly, this establishment is relying on previous reviews to deliver an overpriced subpar product (there is even a review from friends of the owner that is terrible). From the quality of ingredients and preparation to the poor service. Even the long term, awesome waitstaff have all but disappeared, which is a good indication of their demise. The Brick Oven Pizza of the past is no longer. A whopping $45 for a large "super" combo pizza is unheard of in most places around the globe. To add insult to injury, they charge almost 4% for using a card for your purchase. The owner could try to justify the prices if the quality were there. But don't be fooled. Many of the items that were originally homemade are now simply mass produced items bought in bulk. Yet their menu prices continue to rise. Draw from that what you will. There are other establishments on Kaua`i that won't swindle you and prepare delicious meals. Best to look further.
