We had a seamless and very friendly check-in for our one night stay in the Old Farm cottage. This working farm is full of history, and well worth the investigation. Beautiful landscape, old buildings, and animals, perfect for a relaxing visit, and for great photography. We loved every moment.

A really good place to visit. The Family history and the convict labour was very interesting. Most of the buildings are still in good condition and you can enter them. The old chapel is a good example of the old architecture. When you have finished you can drive out and straight across the road and visit the opposite side of the farm. There are some nice gardens to walk through and you can see the current family home from the outside. There is plenty of parking, toilets and some drinks and food available. Entry is $20 for adults, concession $18 children $8.

absolutely fabulous..historical place. Amazing original Sussex Style barns (better preserved than most Sussex barns in the UK of this era. )Lovely chapel, exquisite gardens and house. Nice people who work there & interesting film about the family and legacy. I salute you, the pioneers and self made people who founded this place. It was a real pleasure to visit and feel free to help oneself to all parts of the Estate and imagine how it might have felt to have been a worker there.Thank you to the wonderful lady who was on the front desk and we had such a good chat about the history of the place and the family who are still very much involved.

We stumbled on Brickendon Estate on a rest stop between Bicheno and Cradle Mountain, and boy are we glad we did. It’s one of the 11 Australian Convict UNESCO sites, still very well preserved and informative about one of the more gloomy parts of Tasman history. Genevieve was very lovely and informative, giving us a little run down of the place before giving us the chance to roam around the grounds and gardens across the road. We didn’t have much time for the stop, but if we did we definitely would have stayed for the video showing that goes into depth about the history of the place. Super interesting and definitely worth the stop.

A great journey back in time - could have spent longer walking around the sites and heritage gardens at the house which is just across the road.

Amazingly kept environment! Very knowledgeable staff. My husband's great grandfather was here as a 'naughty boy' and it was a lovely feeling to think he may have sat in the same pew we sat in! We would recommend this place and walk across to Woolmers ( we didn't as it had started to rain). Brickendon garden, across the road, was lovely to wander through too.

Fabulous place to visit. Lovely people and a great historical area of significance. 7 generations have own this homestead and credit to them for keeping such an important legacy going. Loved looking around at our own pace and hearingnthe history through QR cises for more information. A must see.
