Brickyard Hollow Brewing Company is a great spot for delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the sausage, mushroom, and onion pizza, and it was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly baked. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. I’ll definitely be back!

Went in for dinner after a day of hiking and photography and found a table to set up at with our laptop to review photos over a drink and food. Noise level was low and the dining area spacious which was great for our purpose. Ordered the meatball sub and a pizza that was half chicken bacon ranch and half blueberry lemon rosemary ricotta. I definitely recommend the half n half combo so you can have your savory slices and then finish with something for neutral/sweet. The beer options were great and we wish we had time in our trip to visit twice.

Casual self seating environment. You can order directly from your table via a QR code. Gluten free crust available. They have sandwiches and soda/beer. Glad we stopped here for lunch! Shout out to the employee who rescued us from a bee with their raquet zapper.

Ask for some jalapenos for the 🫐 🍕! I added some to a slice off my husband's burger!! WOW ! EVERYTHING was wonderful! Including our waitress Alice! She made me a blueberry seltzer water! It was perfect 😊

Google
not good in comparison to Yarmouth location, which is great. Ordered a well done cheese pie. Got a greasy not well done cheese pie. Tasted like a chuck-e-cheese pizza. They forgot to include mustard with the pretzel sticks too, just a cheese dipping which was watery. Guy in there was nice .

Excellent stop for lunch in Freeport. Service was quick and easy. Tried the Blueberry Ricotta pizza and the Butcher Block. Both were excellent! The Blueberry pizza may sound strange but when in Maine, it’s worth a try! It was surprisingly good.

Google
We ordered a salmon bowl - they were out of salmon so got chicken, however I’m not sure which part of the chicken it was, and it was very overcooked and tough. The caesar salad was one of the worst we have ever had. The cider was really disappointing. The pizza was good however.

Google
This place has an appealing menu and concept but the reality is it pumps out a lot of very mediocre food in a noisy, messy space — and has chaotic service. The Salmon bowl I had was not only ridiculously small (for $17), it was so bad as to be nearly inedible. Further, the pizza was mediocre, the sandwiches were dull, and the French fries were limp. If you’re looking for a decent meal, this is not the place.

Yelp
Great thin crust pizza with nice fries and a nice atmosphere. The workers were nice and helpful. It was also 9 bucks for 2 pieces of pizza and the slices are giant

Yelp
We stopped here on our trip to Freeport because it was one of the few places open after 8:00 at night. I'm so happy we came here. We ordered a margherita pizza, house salads and pretzels. Everything was so good. The pizza had a swirl of balsamic and it was delicious. The ambience was great for a brewery. You can order at your table through QR code or at the counter. Everyone working there was very friendly. We liked it so much that we came back again the next night.

Yelp
The wife and I were out shopping in Freeport and decided we would stop by this pizza joint as we were both craving the Italian delectable dish. We walked into a very clean wide, open restaurant with super friendly staff, and even a play area for children to color and coloring books as well. My wife got the cheese pizza and I got the pepperoni pizza and it didn't take long to make it but it was delicious. If you like thin crust style pizza then this is the place for you. They also had many other options on the menu, but we really enjoyed What we had. The bathrooms were super clean, and there was even an outside seating area when the weather is nicer for you to be able to eat or drink some of the beverages that they offer here, including the brickyard beer. We will definitely be back here in the near future as we truly enjoyed it.

Yelp
They have their own beer on tap and even had a sour, which was pretty good. The pizza options they have are very creative. I got a pizza with goat cheese, peaches, and balsamic and it was delicious! Our service was fine. You order your food and drinks at the counter. The ambiance is similar to a pizza shop.

Yelp
This was our first time at this brewery that also serves food. You can order food at the counter. We got the char and cups (pepperoni) pizza and two beers. Food and drinks were good!

Yelp
One of the best thin crust pizza I've had in my entire life! Super good would go back for sure! The service was amazing too!

Yelp
Cute little place. Ambience isn't bad. Buuuttt... order at the counter or scan a QR code at your table and order on your phone. Is this a restaurant? Or take out? Do I tip for table service or counter? They DO bring it to your table- but no one is getting refills or asking how your food is... confusing. Also- paper plates but metal silverware. Again- threading the needle but not drawing a line. Got the "mushroom, roasted garlic and gorgonzola cheese pizza". Good- but not great. Big, full cloves of garlic and fresh mushrooms, but zero gorgonzola. Also ordered fried brussel sprouts. They were overcooked to the point of falling apart like paper. The dipping sauce was delicious though. Also ordered the Trestle IPA- their flagship beer. That was pretty tasty- I would definitely order another of those. All in all- three stars. The best part was the beer. As for the restaurant? They need to decide if they're a DQ or a Chilis! Oh- the price for a pizza, appetizer, one beer and one soda? $56. Kinda high for a DQ. But Chilis has real plates and waitresses.

Yelp
I need to adjust my expectations as this is really not a "restaurant" like the other locations. This is a "quick" service, cafe type of environment. There was plenty of space for our extended family gathering of 4 adults and 2 kids. It's definitely kid friendly...because there were A LOT of kids in the restaurant and there there were plenty of high chairs. The food was good, however, expect to wait as you would normally would for food in a restaurant.. It was hot and fresh and brought to our table. If I'm in the area and parked near the location, i would probably go here again, no fuss of a "regular" sit down restaurant and hot fresh food options.

Piper L.

Yelp
Great environment, food was decent, but what made this so aggravating was the wait staff and the time it took to get our food. My friend and I both scanned the QR code and placed our orders together. My friend had their food in 20 minutes before I got my food, and by the time we left, we had been there for an hour. We had to figure out how to get our own drinks, and the wait staff was dismissive.

Yelp
Being a NYer it's tough to find a perfect pizza delivery outside the state, but brickyard is pretty good. And the options are creative.

Yelp
I get stuck when Brickyard Hollow is recommended as a spot for dinner and here's why. I think the food is pretty great; the salads are interesting and fresh and the pizza is really good; nice crust, nice toppings. The problem is that there is almost always a long long wait for a table and the last time I called for takeout (yes, it was a Saturday night) they said the wait for me to pick up my order would be an hour and fifteen minutes. WHAT?
google avatar

Yelp
Food was very delicious! I didn't have super high expectations, considering it was a small chain, but I was pleasantly surprised! If I'm ever back in Portland (and hopefully I will be), I would definitely eat from there again!

Yelp
This place is just terrible. The other locations are pretty good, but this place has gotten worse and worse. We have been here multiple times now, and every single time we go the quality of the food has gone for eh to downright terrible. Not only is the service just not good, they just have a "I could care less" attitude, they expect you to know exactly what you want and what's on it, cause if you ask questions you're wasting their time. I have typically gotten the pepperoni pizza. Now if you look at the photos they use for their pepperoni pizza, it's loaded with pepperoni. You get 2 1/2- 3 slices of small pepperoni on each slice of pizza. That's it. The first time I thought maybe just a mistake, but twice? They clearly are skimping out and using false advertisement. This last time was the final straw for us. I'll start with the photos I didn't take. The salad had barely any chicken (that was chopped up to the size of tiny pellets) and was dried like the Sahara dessert, and the lettuce they threw in the chopped off ends. Dirty and giant pieces not even cut up. The pretzels were cold and the cheese that came with it was split, meaning it sat all day in a luck warm container. I have attached photos of the pizzas we ordered and compared them to what they are supposed to be. The Mac and cheese pizza was missing the jalepanos, was not on cornbread crust, and burnt to a crisp so bad, that the pulled pork was extremely dry. And the potato pizza contained no bacon, no shallot sour cream drizzle, and once again, burnt and dry as hell. This place is an absolute joke. There are so many other pizza places in the town alone, not including the next few towns over. The other brickyards are perfectly fine. If you're THAT desperate for Brickyard, go to Brunswick, Yarmouth, even Portland. They are far superior. How this place gets such good reviews and constant customers is beyond me. If this was a one time incident, sure, it happens. But this has been consistent for years now. Slowly, but surely getting worse and worse. Whoever owns this company REALLY needs to see what is going on in Freeport with their quality control. This place is massively overpriced, false advertising, poor quality control, and just really not worth your time or money. Avoid at all cost.

Tony Z.

Yelp
Their pizza is great. But the price of a salad is ridiculous. To me the price of $7 for a side salad sounds fair, but the quantity is very small. I bought a take out, it felt light. Decided to investigate, weighed it. The plastic dish with cover "filled" with greens plus 6 large stale croutons was 5 ounces. The empty plastic dish w/ cover is 1.5 ounce. That was 3.5 oz. of salad. Do the math,,,it works out to about THIRTY DOLLARS a pound! To me that's unreasonable.

Ellie B.

Yelp
You order up at the counter or you can order on your phone with the barcode provided at your table. It's took awhile to get our pizza and the pizza was just ok but I wouldn't go back. The atmosphere was clean and well maintained. Overall it was a 3/5.

Yelp
Visited with a big group for an employee Christmas lunch back in December. We were told they don't take reservations but to come early and grab a table because it gets busy. I hadn't eaten anything that day in hopes to get a juicy burger like other Brickyard locations have and was saddened when I saw the menu. Before I go there though, the environment is what I can only describe as cold. The floors and walls are concrete (I think), the tables and chairs are super super basic folding tables and stacking chairs, i.e, not comfortable. I felt like a child sitting low at the table. Now back to the menu, the pizza options are decent but pricey, the bowls sound good but not for a group sharing. I had a prosecco to drink because BH beer is not especially good, and I'm a beer snob. We ordered something like 4 large pizzas, 2 small pizzas, nachos and fried brussel sprouts. The pizza was the best of what we ordered, the nachos were lame (little topping and not many of them), and the fried brussels gave me heartburn (and I don't get heartburn frequently). I will say the brussels came with a sweet chili sauce which made them much better. There were definitely more customers than I expected as the lunch hour rolled around. It was clear a lot of Freeport shoppers warm up in BH and get a slice and a beer which is awesome. I, however, don't have a reason to return.

Ashley B.

Yelp
Upon arriving the place was busy and there was no indoor seating available.. understandable. While ordering we were informed there were no indoor seats available and we could try to sit on the patio (but no guarantee there would be seating) or take our order to go. I decided to order it to go incase no outdoor seating was available we could just leave with it, but was then informed that if I ordered it to go I NEEDED to leave with it and would not be able to sit if seating became available while waiting for the food to be done. So in the 30 minutes we waited for our pizza to be done I watched 3 or more tables become available... but was unable to sit while I watched others walk in and immediately sit at the open tables I was supposedly unable to sit at while waiting half an hour for my food... doesn't make sense. The pizza was OK but will take my business elsewhere next time.

Yelp
Pizza is great. Bowls are also good. My kids think their wings are some of the best around. Meatball sub is a pleasant surprise - very good. Loaded fries are also a favorite of my kids.

Leah C.

Yelp
We ordered food at the counter and it took 45 minutes even though the place was empty. There was little to no communication and no apology for how the food took. I will give the props of the pizza being good, crust was mid.

Yelp
Yum!!!! I thought this pizza was wonderful! I had the goat cheese, tomato and spinach pizza. I also had a slice of pepperoni that others ordered. Both were really good! Also they have prosecco on to which was really good since I don't like beer.

Yelp
Great pizza spot in Freeport which is steps away from the outlet shopping center in town. The waitress was able to split our pizza choice in half for a bigger pie which ended up being the perfect size for us. We went half blueberry, ricotta and shallot and the other half Buffalo chicken, red onion and gorgonzala crumble. It ended up being the perfect combination of a savory pie and dessert pie! Would also recommend their blueberry delight beer which had Maine blueberries infused into it. Great choice! The place itself was quite spacious and had a outdoor patio when the weather is nice.

Yelp
Stopped in for a cold after LL Bean. Laid back atmosphere. Our beers were delicious - Porter and Watermelon Sour. Had a choice of 5 other selections. Pizza on others table looked pretty good, we did not eat though.

Karen S.

Yelp
It's a shame to write this as we've supported brickyard hollow since the beginning.. I spent about 75 dollars tonight and walked down to get our food and noticed when we got home there was no beer cheese on our 3 bacon beer cheese fries.. I called and walked down to be told he can vouch for him that there's beer cheese on the fries I've had them a million times no there's not.. I've worked in the restaurant industry for 18 years just don't try to argue with me. I'm just so surprised and shocked.. it's too bad

Yelp
It took 30 minutes to get a Salad and a Meatball Sub. The dining area a not well heated. When I addressed the wait time with the staff they indicated they only had one cook on duty. Perhaps this experience is isolated to the off season.
google avatar

Helena Q.

Yelp
The wait was long and it's counter ordering, but it seemed like a transition season staffing issue as opposed to the norm. I really enjoyed the pizza! It was a relatively thin crust style, but still structurally sound. They seem to not prefer having red sauce though! The sausage, beef, cherry tomato and donair sauce pizza had a nice sweet touch from the donair sauce, but I found the pizza my friend had with the ricotta was better. Their pizzas seem to have creative, but not TOO creative, combos! I think the small whole pizza is a relatively good size for a single person.

Yelp
Stopped in Friday night for dine-in pizza. The staff was in a great workflow and getting people served fast and in a friendly manner. A majority of the silverware and plates are grabbed up at the front counter and then put away by you closer to the door. It's an easy set up to adopt and easy to figure out. I really wanted to try out their creative pizza options, great both for both meat and veggie lovers. Ordered large pizza: overall this felt like a good everyday pizza, not greasy very crispy and foldable. The sparing use of tomato sauce did make the pizza feel a big dry so I'd probably eat with ranch/garlic butter/BBQ sauce or something next time. 1/2 cup and char aka pepperoni pizza: was hoping for that NYC pep but this was not that, more crispy than meaty 1/2 strawberry, bacon, hot honey chicken: really creative, tasted similar to a BBQ chicken bacon pizza with all the sweetness, went great with pepper flakes Overall, I'd love to come back and try their other fun flavors. A decent pie in Freeport that I'd recommend over the Domino's down the street.

Noah Z.

Yelp
The food was great. The table crushed the pizza, Brussel sprouts, and fries. The staff was also fantastic and hilarious

Yelp
Literally cannot get enough of the sausage, beef, cherry tomato and donair sauce pizza. Absolutely and 100% worth the price. We always order a large, but next time we will order a small and go for another small pizza - however, rest assured that the donair sauce pizza will always be our go-to selection. The donair pizza itself is sumptuous with rich flavors and the sweet sauce paired with the roasted cherry tomatoes is otherworldly - truly a perfect mix of sweet and savory. We get their greek salad as well and the entire meal is absolutely 5-star material. It's our favorite pizza joint in Portland (and there are a lot of choices in this area). Two thumbs up.

Yelp
Stopped in after walking around Freeport. Husband got the pepperoni and I, being the more food adventurous one, ordered the blueberry goat cheese pizza. Both were fabulous and we ate everything that was placed in front of us. Staff were friendly and helpful and food was served quickly.

Yelp
I stopped in Brickyard for a light lunch during a recent shopping day in Freeport; it was mid-afternoon and they were busy but not crowded. The interior is modern and clean; they have limited seating if the weather is nice. They offer pizza by the slice at lunch, so I ordered a slice of cheese and some of the chicken pot stickers (I know, fusion meal). The pizza was very good and the pot stickers were also nice with an interesting balsamic sweet and sour sauce for dipping. No complaints on the food prep time and the service was good as well. I didn't sample the beers but being a brewing company there are of course plenty of options. Overall, a nice spot for a quick bite in Freeport.
google avatar

Taylor L.

Yelp
A decent little brewery and pizza shop amongst a sea of LL Beans. Both beers we tried were good, but not outstanding. We also ordered the peach balsamic basil pizza. It was decent and the leftovers held up well

Patty L.

Yelp
All customers have to keep jackets on because it is freezing cold in here. We were hoping the food would warm us up but it was not cold yet less than warm. We had clam chowder and sandwiches. Wont be back.
google avatar

Olivia T.

Yelp
Not great service took forever for food to come out and the front person stated that IPAs and pale ales are different... India pale ale it's in the name. Anyway not to get on a rant. The service was mediocre at best. But the food was okay. It's East coast pizza there are better places with better service
google avatar

Yelp
Really good pizza, good beer selection, friendly service. There is outdoor seating. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Our smoked pork pizza was delicious. Service was great and the craft beer outstanding! We also tried the recently added French fries with cheese and enjoyed them.

Yelp
Pizza slice was decent. Took over 30 minutes to get the pretzels we ordered and had to ask. Extremely SLOW for counter service.
google avatar

Yelp
Takeout was 20 minutes, no one at register. Bar was sticky and covered in spilled beer. Bleh

Yelp
The pizza was available as promised and the pizza was great. A wide variety of recipes made it possible to please everyone.

Yelp
The crispy pepperonis alone will have you coming back, and the freshly brewed beers will have you hopping. We love the pizza, potstickers (yes, they have those and they're soooooo good!) and other goodies.
google avatar

Lorri D.

Yelp
We only got a beer here, the selection was meh and the service was meh. It was extremely hot and humid inside, so we took our beers to the back patio and that was lovely.
google avatar

Melissa T.

Yelp
Pizza was great! We had a small and it was plenty for two people. The person who waited on us seemed to be a little frustrated with a big order and yelled at a couple of kids working there.

E D.

Yelp
Waited over 75mins for a pizza and a sandwich, which arrived at the wrong table and were then brought right to us. To our surprise, both items were cold. They very clearly do not have enough staff and are quite disorganized. Prices are high and the quality is not there. Would not recommend, ruined our night out in Freeport. My husband went to order a second beer and waited as second in line more than 10 minutes since no one was working the counter, before giving up and eating his meal without a drink.

Yelp
Stopped by to this little place on Bow Street after a trip to LL Beans - short 2 min walk - was pleasantly surprised. Pizza and protein bowls only on the menu. Ordering was kind of wonky - you have to go to the counter to order. Pizza was excellent! Had the bbq pulled pork and Fuji apple pizza - wife got the pineapple onion hot honey pizza - both were great - thin crust and properly cooked- they have vegan options as well and their own craft beer - we will definitely be stopping by next time we are in the area.

Maureen L.

Yelp
Waited 25 minutes in line only to be told even I ordered that the wait would be 45 minutes. Ordered anyways as did my friend-same order, time stamp 1 minute off. Friends food arrived 5 minutes ago. Half dozen orders have come out. I'm still waiting. It's been well over 45 minutes now-never ever again!

Yelp
My wife and i were on a week long road trip to Maine and our last night was in Freeport, about 30 minutes north of Portland. Freeport is a nice little town with the LL Bean headquarters in it and lots of shopping. My wife wanted to walk around and shop and she asked me if I would just like to hang out and have a beer. "Why yes" I replied. Brickyard was pretty big inside and there was a group of friends enjoying some beers. i ordered an IPA and sat down on a bench by myself and my phone. The staff was nice and the beer was solid. I ordered a second and they make good beer. I saw the pizzas go by and they all looked good. I only had their beer, but it really hit the spot on a nice Maine day. if you get a chance, a Maine road trip is a good time.
google avatar

Bruce K.

Yelp
Masks required, distanced tables, hand sanitizer everywhere, paper plates and plastic cutlery and no menus because it's all posted above the register. My brother and I landed here and my keto did not. I went all out. I started off with their own stout and it was terrific. Dark and malty and delicious. About a quarter of the way through my beer, the pizza was done. I chose the spiciest I saw and still added some red pepper flakes. My lips were burning all evening! Buffalo chicken, red onions and gorgonzola crumbles. This pizza had so much flavor and with a crunchy crust and still a bit doughy, I ate it all. Every. Little. Bite. It was amazing. Friendly service in a clean restaurant. We found street parking during off season. You might have different luck during high season. But it's worth the effort! [Review 14898 overall, round number 400 of 2021, number 80 in Maine.]

Yelp
First time checking out their Freeport location after only trying their Portland location once. I think I slightly prefer the Portland location. This is due to the Portland location having a more restaurant vibe than just a pizza shop. They do appear to have lots of staff here so even when busy placing an order at the counter shouldn't take very long. The staff was friendly and food came out in a timely manner. Brickyard Hollow beers have never impressed me that much considering all of the great breweries in the state. They aren't the worst in the state but if you are strictly interested in great beers look elsewhere, a few decent options that pair with food well. On to the food, I was very impressed with the bacon beer cheese fries, good portion and very tasty. Secondly we decided to get their special pizza of the month (every month they partner with another local restaurant to make a pizza and dollar from every pizza ordered goes to ending childhood food insecurity). This month they partnered with Butcher Burger and made a fried chicken & waffles pizza and damn!!!!!! If there was a spot with this or a similar pizza on the menu all the time, I think I'd have a problem ordering pizza too often. Just the right amount of waffles and syrup paired with the chicken to make it not overly sweet. Overall I think some great pizza/fries with some decent beers. Give one of the Brickyard Hollow locations a try.

Yelp
Stopped here in the middle of a road trip hoping to grab a quick dinner before resuming our journey. Let me start off by saying the pizza does take the estimated 20-25 minutes they provide you with but it's worth every single minute of wait. The pizza is absolutely incredible. The dough is full of flavor and the crust is at the perfect level of crispness. The staff is wonderful: when we got the wrong pizza they not only remade it but also let us keep the wrong pizza. Other than the pizza we also ordered the Japanese Brown Rice Bowl which was delicious. This spot has not only wonderful food but is also extremely affordable. Definitely come check it out!
