Yelp
Had dinner at the Bistro last night, both my wife and I were thoroughly disappointed. We hadn't been to this location since it was changed from Rip-n-Richards to the Bridge Bistro, so we thought it was time to check it out, unfortunately this was a mistake. The first thing you'll notice is very high priced meals, this place must still be paying off the renovation, because $20 for a burger isn't great value, a "bistro" is supposed to offer moderate pricing in a modest setting, they got the last part right. My wife had a 1/4 chicken dinner, in this case the price was right, $14, but the chicken was so dry it was difficult to choke down without a good dunk in the "gravey." The coleslaw was disgusting, fries we're pretty good. I had the "special," mac and cheese, at $22 it better be special, but it really wasn't, how can you screw up basic comfort food? Adding elk sausage to mac and cheese doesn't make it gourmet, for $22 you would expect something special, something memorable, something that you would want to comeback for. Sorry to say, but this mac and cheese must have been inspired by KD and wieners because it wasn't very good and certainly not memorable.
Will never go back, too bad, because the location is great, but its the food not location that keeps patrons coming back. Perhaps the ownership can look objectively at this review, decide if they want to improve or just continue to serve substandard meals. Both my wife and I have travelled all over the world, ate anything from street meat in Bangkok to Michelin 3 star in Paris, so we know good food, I'll take the street meat in Bangkok over the Bridge Bistro any day!
