Google
Really good food and a nice interior. It's got a great location being the first thing you see when you pass under the bridge walking on the river path. Nice patio too.

Google
Dinner was delicious and their carrot cake sticky toffee pudding was unreal. Best dessert I've had in quite a while (so much so that I may need another before we depart Fernie...)

As a group of 4 we stopped for brunch and 2 of us had the breakfast bacon and eggs with hash browns. These had to be the worst we have ever had. I don't know what that green stuff was that they drizzled on them but it just made horrible worse. At the price point you charge for everything on your menu how you could send this to a table is beyond me. I guess the only good part was the waitress was very nice .

Had an amazing dinner!! The tenderloin bowl was giant and great after a long day of riding it really was perfect. Ashley there was so kind and perfect. Met the owner Claude and was equally impressed. Food, service and people were awesome what more could you want!! Craft beer was on point too

Along came Polly….. Great food, nice location but the service was sub par. We sat on the patio and we were waited on by Polly. I don’t think she wanted to be there and didn’t make us feel like she wanted us there either. We felt like we were inconveniencing her with our presence. She did a horrible job of explaining the specials, said the Italian sandwich special was a sandwich is salami, no further explanation. When I asked if she had root beer her answer was no and she just blankly stared at me. I asked her what drinks she did have and she rambled off Pepsi, Diet Pepsi and 7up. I asked if they had ice tea she said “yup”. Later on, long after our drinks had gone dry we asked for more and her answer was “we don’t do refills”. I honestly can’t for the life of me understand why she thinks being a waitress is the right fit for her. She became personable and friendly when she brought us our tab. Staring longingly at the tip button as I entered my information. If you ever get the chance to eat here I would recommend it, just be sure to not sit in Polly’s section.

THE BEST!!! OMG. Everything is amazing. Their chorizo is the only chorizo I've had here in Canada that doesn't give the odd smell (you know if you know). Just pure goodness! Visited this place for brunch before heading back to AB. This is now one of my favourite part of our trip.

Google
Ive been here a few times over the years, be aware of a few things. I remember feeling frustrated after our last visit as well. For kids…Soft Drinks are NOT refillable like many restaurants in CANADA. At $3.75/drink we were charged $40 for 10 drinks over 90 minutes. SERVER never even mentioned it, around refill #5 perhaps a reminder would be appropriate. F $18 Calamari was Greasy and m’eh, likewise fried pickles unsatisfying. Burger was good, lasagna was good. Server was an ORDER-TAKER nearly $200 for 2TEENS + 2 ADULTS. I wish we’d gone to a FANCY Steakhouse for that price.

Google
Absolutely EVERYTHING slapped here. I got the duck and apricot aïoli appetizer. Duck? Slaps. Aioli dip? Slaps so incredibly hard. I doubted the dip and almost didn't order it. So glad I changed my mind. The soup of the day was tomato and basil. Incredible. I got a beef burger that I had to unfortunately eat without the bacon jam (because I can't eat pork) but was told it's delicious. It slapped hard even without the jam. I used the leftover dip for my fries, which were also a hit. I had a drink with coffee, hot chocolate, and dark rhum, i.e.: the perfect drink. We split the carrot cake for dessert with tea. Everything about that cake was amazing including the freeze dried carrot slices. The tea was served in a teapot per person. Great service. Worth every penny.

Yelp
What a fantastic location by the Elk River. We're were greeted and seated inside where a wonderful friendly server with such a beautiful French accent took our food order. Our breakfast came out quite fast! We must admit was the best breakfast we have had in a very long time. Ordered smoked Salmon Benny with fried potatoes with a type of green garlic sauce, Standby Breakfast came with toast pan fried potatoes with a green garlic sauce and eggs and bacon. Everything was so delicious!! Inside is very rustic and trendy, has plenty of parking We will be returning to try lunch and supper later in our vacation.

Yelp
We were disappointed with this place. I don't generally write bad reviews because of service, but we felt intentionally ignored. I say this because we walked in at the same time as 2 other parties. We were all seated at the same time. We ordered at the first opportunity we got yet still, One of the other groups was finished with their meal before ours even came. We were never offered refills on our drinks and when our server offered our check, and the other 2 tables were already reset, she hung out by the server station, chatted with another table and seemed to keep forgetting our check. Otherwise, The food was okay, although very expensive for what it was ($85 for 2 adults, no alcohol and a kids meal). We won't be back because the price and service made for a bad experience.

Yelp
Savoy cabbage stuffed with sauteed lentils, quinoa, and chickpeas in a bath of mushroom demi, with roasted cauliflower florets, garnished with pickled jalapenos, pea shots, and chickpea ranch. Great good, service and reasonable prices.

Kelly F.

Yelp
The food was fresh. But I ordered bad. The onion soup is definitely no French onion. But the grilled cheese was delicious. Definitely try the Earl Gray Ice Tea. The waitress was lovely. She was also making the drinks along with taking food orders. A hard worker

Yelp
Loved this place! It didn't look like much from the road, but restaurant has really cool - from the doors to everything inside. The food was great and service was awesome! Will definitely be going back on a future trip to Fernie!

Yelp
Very unexpected and amazing meal! Landed here after downtown was booked but would come here over downtown next time! Service was excellent!

Yelp
Stopped on a whim and we were not disappointed. I had soup of the day plus a chicken curry wrap. My husband had the fish and chips. Both were fresh and homemade, and the service was excellent!

Yelp
We are happy to have dinner here. We were in town for just a night and as we were driving to search for a restaurant we stopped here. We were sat on their awesome patio and enjoyed their local crafted pilsner beer. Very tasty and nice and cold. Perfect for outdoor weather! I ordered a pasta and I think it was a special because it's not on there every day menu. This was very tasty pasta dish and I go yearly to Sicily. My husband ordered the fish & chips and what a great dish as well. The fish was so fresh tasting and so flavorful. He shared a small piece and it had me wishing I had ordered that dish but that should not take away from my pasta dish! Food was so fresh tasting and we had great service. This was a very happening place and we are so glad we ate there! Go if you are in Fernie. You won't be sorry!

Yelp
Raw chicken TWICE !!!!! gross parents beware we always break chicken fingers apart for our kids because this has happened before To us 2 out of 4 pieces were pink and bloody inside. I went to inform the waitress she said they'd cook new ones we got the new chicken fingers rather fast, and RAW Again, actually worse then the first ones. The waitress never came back to our table to check or ask if everything was good I had to go up to the bar again and complain and ask for our bill. Needless to say we didn't pay for the chicken but the servers were not professional or at all helpful at all very dissatisfied

Ellen A.

Yelp
Excellent variety of food. Service is good and surroundings are clean. Recommend highly

David S.

Yelp
Online menu was not up to date. No refills on soft drinks. Food was ok. I will not return.

Yelp
This place sounds great. Bistro by the river. The restaurant is nice. We sat on the patio but the highway is very close so it was very loud and you can barely see the river. Food was ok.... we order deep fried pickles for appy, which super yummy! Mains were quinoa salad and falafel. They were both OK. Our server on the other hand was a bit of a disappointment. He seems like he didn't want to be there. He didn't even thank us at the end when we are paying the bill.

Myron K.

Yelp
Went at 11:30am to get an early lunch. Our waiter brought us water and never came back. Would love to review the food but we never got the chance to order. We wasted our lunch hour for nothing. Decided to leave in search of food and found a much better place called The Brick House where we were served promptly and had a great lunch. Don't waste your time like we did. Go elsewhere to find good service as you will not find it at The Bridge Bistro.

Yelp
Five stars to Taryn the server. Her and her new colleague greeted us with natural warmth as soon as we entered, and Taryn's super service continued. (On this note, these two ladies were close by preparing cutlery and serviettes for a big catering function and I overheard Taryn say she was had decided to attend a customer service workshop soon. I considered letting her know that she didn't need to, that her service was tops, that she could be teaching the workshop.) Our eyes were bigger than our appetites, and that was a good thing as we didn't even try to finish our meals. I hate waste, but the warm roasted cubed veggie salad was drenched, or more like soaked in balsamic vinegar and totally ruined a wonderful medley of carrots, potatoes, beets, turnip, and it was hard to see what other veggies were there as everything was almost black from being soaked in balsamic. Sad and ruined, poor veggies. The rack of ribs, well, let's just say the person cooking was too lazy or didn't know that the underside skin layer should always be removed prior to cooking. Shameful if they call themselves a Chef and present food like that. To make matters worse, the ribs were soaked in BBQ sauce that covered up an unusual smell. I'm not a European trained Chef like my husband is, but I could taste something off. Sad and ruined, poor ribs. Glad we enjoyed the elk stuffed potato skins, very tasty! Taryn's warmth and friendliness was so appreciated that we didn't want to complain and ruin everyone's night. But really, cut the balsamic vinegar by 80% and the BBQ sauce by 80% and your next customers will greatly benefit.

Yelp
Great food some of the best in Fernie in my opinion and service was amazing. Definitely a must go to restaurant if your in the area. Jambalaya was excellent!

Yelp
Unfortunately one of the worst meals I've ever had at a restaurant. Ordered the Fish and Chips. Pretty hard to mesas up one would think? The fish was as dry and as tough as could be. Tried a few bites. Tried a bit of lemon -no difference, then tried some of their tartar sauce (which cost and extra $2, still terrible. The fries were marginal. Again tried a few and even with vinegar, and salt pepper. The meal was inedible. Noticed the table to us ordered the same. Enquired as to their opinion - same as mine. All this for a paltry $20. Asked to speak to the manager and was informed that no manager was on the premises. Waitress didn't know what to do - said she was new. I knew what to do and wrote this review.

Kellee P.

Yelp
Lovely patio along the river. Vert good food And especially love the quinoa salad.

Chris P.

Yelp
Terrible service and the food is just gross. Who in their right mind thinks its ok to cover a steak with low grade siracha dressing? The burgers were bad, the fries were bad this place is bad.

Shelley C.

Yelp
I have been coming to this establishment for years, it was our families go to. As of today we will never go there again over a $9 bowl of clam chowder. It was the first time I had it. Upon arrival it looked like porridge. It held my spoon upright. Yet undaunted by the less than appealing presentation, I took a spoonful. All I could taste was the poor choice of spices, no clam/fish flavour at all and those spices were making my mouth water and not in a good way. I felt like I was going to throw up and told the table that. My daughter said it looks like you already did, pointing to the chowder. I told the waitress I couldn't eat the chowder and that we couldn't take it with us since we were traveling. She/management didn't remove it from the bill. Had I known this was the perspective of the business I would have taken the slop and redecorated the front door with it. We all lost something with this single event. The family lost the only reason to stop in Fernie, the waitress lost the price of the soup in her tip and the "Bridge" lost my respect and business forever.

Yelp
Amazing fried pickles and tomato basil soup. Chicken was dry and gravy was too salty to eat. Coleslaw was seriously delicious. Server was good but didn't have a suggestion to replace the gravy - a weird exchange ensued. Server did try to rectify the chicken by offering an extremely yummy pecan pie - very good but then charged me for my decaf coffee. Ribs had a nice sweet/sour bbq sauce - worth the 1/2 order. Good sized portions too. Cool decor as well - cozy and updated with clean and updated washrooms. My suggestion is to serve a side salad with the chicken or mashed potatoes - fries were good but too heavy. Give customers side options. Overall, would return but try other main options.

Yelp
The owner yelled at me and my son and other children, my son who is 5 (he said mommy I was holding the tears in as I was scared mommy) they had to witness the owner/manager tell me I was a F...king B...tch and to F..ck off. The owner/manager he kept going on and on (I said very little I just wanted the chicken breast/and meal as I had ordered the night before) he was very angry and telling me how I was not to treat his staff this way (just to note I was never rude, or mean, I was particular yes, and I was simply asking for the same meal I had the night prior which it simply wasn't the same and I always said it with I am really sorry but I can't eat this before asking)...did I have high expectations, yes I did as I am paying almost 30.00 just for my portion. The waiter kept asking what do you want me to ask the manager/owner here about your bill (he asked this of my a couple of times) before going to the manager/owner and I said, you tell me what you think is fair, then the waiter said, no I won't you tell me what you want me to ask (it almost felt like he was fearful of asking) and so I said well I believe fair would be if I offered to pay for half my entre, as I just couldn't eat it, (to note for me it tasted super greasy and I am on a specialized food plan). That was when the waiter got the owner and the owner came in at me he was angry and he said no we will not split this, and was trying to belittle me with his words and say I was treating his chef/cook poorly, and he wouldn't have it, and how dare I do this, and that he will absolutely not offer to split the cost, he went on and on (his voice was raised and he was definitely angry). I paid and then I went to him and I asked him to speak in a more professional manner and that it was definitely not right to yell and get this angry about a meal in public like this in front of my poor children he then proceeded to call me a F...cking B..tch and when I asked him to stop and I kept saying stop and I said to him that this is not how you handle this (he was trying to frighten me and belittle me as best he could in front of my children and the entire restaurant), and I said don't speak like this in front of my children, as he was yelling at me/them (my son is 5), he said just F..ck off, Just get the F..ck out of here, leave. I said I am sorry you are upset but this is not how we speak with one another...he again said, get the "F...ck out of here!" My poor kids and I were so shaken, I was horrified for them this definitely left me shaken, and it will take me time to get over such an interaction it will take time to process this experience. I am sharing this story as I hope to god that this does not repeat itself and happen to another human being.

Yelp
Food looks amazing service rocked. Considering we where the first in but the atmosphere was what I expected and the over all environment of this plus makes me wanna come back. Plus it's clean and friendly staff all of this makes me wanna recommend this to others. In my mind no one gets a 5 star but it was damn close

Yelp
I've been to Bridge Bistro twice and neither time has it disappointed me or my cohorts! The food is fresh, well prepared, and all-out delicious! I really enjoyed their quesadilla, but other foods of note include their eggs benedict, and their pizza! Beyond the food quality, the ambience is great. It's homey, without being too old fashioned. The service is superb, and I was impressed with the speed at which we recieved our food. Overall, I have to say, Bridge Bistro is a place worth stopping. It's a great little find in Fernie, and some of the best food in the area.

Yelp
This Canadian brew joint has excellent microbrew, especially if your from the states. Scrumptious brew, delicious grub and a spectacular view to boot. Whether vegan or meat eater, you'll before than pleased with the selection.

Yelp
Yummy breakfast! We both had the eggs benny with ham..super hollandaise, nice and lemony which is the way I like it. Service was prompt and helpful and friendly. Will be back!

Morgan M.

Yelp
Wonderful service and great food! Our service was prompt and friendly. I got the tuna poke and my husband got the club quesadilla-- both excellent! We found they had a great selection of food and drinks. We would definitely go back :)

Jenna M.

Yelp
This place is a huge favourite of mine. Especially in the summer. Best patio ( besides island lake lodge) , hands down. They have a gluten free menu with great options. A favourite of mine this summer is the tuna bowl! Service is amazing and prices are very reasonable.
google avatar

Carman D.

Yelp
We had sangria which was moderate for sangria. Fried bocconcini which was like a high end cheese stick crusted with panko, and the summer pasta salad with orzo which was fantastic and came with shrimp skewers. The service was really good and the environment was interesting as it had a very local vibe to it. Would certainly recommend to those visiting fernie.
google avatar

Sondra W.

Yelp
The food and the service were both amazing. We had fried pickles, a veggie risotto & stuffed portobello mushroom served on. Chickpea chili. We split the 2 dishes and had almost as much as ate to take home. Very generous portions.
google avatar

Jodie B.

Yelp
Had dinner here with the kids while we were in Fernie. Great environment but overpriced for what we received. Three of the four plates we had fries and they were all over done, some burnt and possibly double fried. You know when you have a bite of a fry and there is NO potato left inside. My daughter had a kids quesadilla and the edges were burnt as well. Coleslaw was tasteless and seem like it had watered down mayo on it:( I had the balsamic chicken pizza which was good other than the lack of balsamic glaze. As a previous server I could tell by the look of the fries that they were over done and wouldn't of served them, same goes with the kids quesadilla which was visibly burnt!

Yelp
I have yet to be wowed by the Bridge. I have been at least once after every change - new owners, new interior, new patio. The food is fine and the selection is okay. I still like the salmon quesadilla the best, which is one of the holdovers from the Rip n' Richards days. The patio is great and the renos to it were definitely worthwhile. Opening up the side with the window wall makes the interior much nicer as well. The patio is definitely the selling feature here, it is the second biggest one in town and located in a much more convenient location than the golf course. A few weeks ago I had a delightful muddled blackberry drink in the sunshine, however they do cost a few bucks, so I could only have two. If you are looking for an acceptable place to eat post-skiing or with a family, the Bridge will do you just fine, just don't be expecting a wow.
google avatar

Justin L.

Yelp
Not bad! Had the smoked salmon quesadillas. Saw this place while passing through Fernie while on a road trip from Vancouver to Calgary. The dining area was for the most part pretty enjoyable, but the only thing that sort of annoyed me was that there were loads of flies buzzing around me as I ate - nothing I couldn't deal with, but would've been nice to not have to swat insects away every so often. The quesadillas were nice and crispy, the cheese and warm and stringy, and the salmon was nicely cooked and beautifully flaky. The only drawback was that the salmon was a tiny bit too salty for my liking. Otherwise a positive experience!

Justin D.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Stopped in before heading out on a hike. The eggs benny was not bad but felt as though it was missing something. There was one waitress and 5-6 tables that morning. She was killing it. Didn't let any table go unattended.

Patty K.

Yelp
Super slow service. Waited 1 hour for an appetizer. Not impressed. Unimaginative menu.
google avatar

Chris Y.

Yelp
Very good service. Excellent food. Good value for your money. The Veggie Short stack and the Korean BBQ Pita were very tasty. Good selection of regional craft beers.

Andreas N.

Yelp
Our family went there on a Tuesday evening. The cost for three of us was about $120, which includes three drinks. That is what I expect to pay for a very good meal that does not feature a steak. I echo another post about the dry chicken. My wife and son each had a different dish with chicken and it was not great thanks to the dry chicken. I ordered ribs and was told they ran out. Huh? Who runs out of ribs on a Tuesday? I ordered the seafood pasta. I was told there were no mussels, so they would put in extra chicken and shrimp. When it arrived, there was no chicken at all. But given the experience my wife and son had with their chicken, that was probably a good thing. To be fair, the pasta was fresh and nicely cooked. The mango flavours in the dish were tasty. The portions are big. Also, the service was very good and the atmosphere was nice. I am not sure we would go back.
google avatar

Paul G.

Yelp
Needs work. New restaurant. We walked in for supper and it was smoky inside...something to do with their open oven, not smokers. Ordered halibut. Decore is very plain. Portions were very small with 5 pieces of small vegetables and one icecream scoop of rice for $15. My son ordered a quesadilla but it had no garnish. i.e no rice and no salad for that entree. Told waitress and she did nothing. We passed on desert and left hungry.

Yelp
Great Service. Relaxed Atmosphere overlooking the Elk River. Fresh original food that was tasty! Thx. Will be back again real soon. Fed a family of 4 for less than 85 including tip. Booze not included.

Yelp
Summary:Great food, Grest service Went on a ridiculously busy night but the wait was only a few minutes and well worth it. Our server was fast and efficient with a grest attitude and sense of humor. Appetizer was potato skins with delicious aolii simple and very tasty. They have a small but ineresting menu with go to favorites like burgers and fish and chips and steaks. The best thing on the menu was the Elk ribs. Perfectly done just the right amount of sauce to add flavor without covering up the rich flavors of the elk.. They also have agood selection of beers and for those so inclined some fine Scotch. Even on such a busy night the server was attentive and even ran back to the kitchen to verify ingredients for allergy purposes. Great meal. Great service. Great choice. Previous reviews mentioned changes in owner etc. And it seems that they have found there way because it was outstanding.
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
Awesome place to stop in Fernie. They have delicious soups and salads, and offer the local beers. The service here is friendly and helpful, albeit the kitchen is a bit slow to bring out orders - especially since its soup and sandwiches. Tasty nonetheless.
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
Sorry, this ones not worth going too. Food, Service and Quality were all very low. Friends reflect the same feeling. Hope they can get it together soon enough

Jeff G.

Yelp
Slow service and ignorant. Pizza tasted like cardboard. Had high hopes but was massively saddened after the experience.
google avatar

Manashri S.

Yelp
I loved the place. Patio is amazing and service is nice. I being a vegetarian had a fair amount of options out which I chose a veggie burger. It was the best veggie burger I had hands down! Their vegetarian pizza is really good too. The food was fresh and drinks were served chilled. I will visit this place again!

Yelp
My it's hot! Visited on a hot day, and the brick fireplace was roaring. Despite fans 20 feet over our heads, we sure noticed the lack of air conditioning. Ice in our glasses was gone in minutes, and it was a relief to get back into the car baking in the parking lot. Food was ok, menu would not be for the unadventurous. Great they support organic and local, but we won't return even in winter.

Amanda W.

Yelp
We absolutely love the breakfast at Bridge Bistro! (Vegetarian Frittata and Ham Eggs Benny). Casual, and laidback with great service and amazing food...perfect atmosphere for week-end brunch. We try to come here every time we are in Fernie.

Yelp
This is for the Wednesday night quarter chicken, fries, coleslaw and beer deal. $12, totally worth it.

Yelp
Stopped over for a quick lunch on our way from Calgary. The restaurant has a nice feel to it, staff was amazing and the food was refreshingly different. I had the Summer Potato Salad which came with a grilled corn on the cob and two kebabs (shrimp and pork). Would definitely recommend this place!

Jim M.

Yelp
Had dinner at the Bistro last night, both my wife and I were thoroughly disappointed. We hadn't been to this location since it was changed from Rip-n-Richards to the Bridge Bistro, so we thought it was time to check it out, unfortunately this was a mistake. The first thing you'll notice is very high priced meals, this place must still be paying off the renovation, because $20 for a burger isn't great value, a "bistro" is supposed to offer moderate pricing in a modest setting, they got the last part right. My wife had a 1/4 chicken dinner, in this case the price was right, $14, but the chicken was so dry it was difficult to choke down without a good dunk in the "gravey." The coleslaw was disgusting, fries we're pretty good. I had the "special," mac and cheese, at $22 it better be special, but it really wasn't, how can you screw up basic comfort food? Adding elk sausage to mac and cheese doesn't make it gourmet, for $22 you would expect something special, something memorable, something that you would want to comeback for. Sorry to say, but this mac and cheese must have been inspired by KD and wieners because it wasn't very good and certainly not memorable. Will never go back, too bad, because the location is great, but its the food not location that keeps patrons coming back. Perhaps the ownership can look objectively at this review, decide if they want to improve or just continue to serve substandard meals. Both my wife and I have travelled all over the world, ate anything from street meat in Bangkok to Michelin 3 star in Paris, so we know good food, I'll take the street meat in Bangkok over the Bridge Bistro any day!

Garry W.

Yelp
Much better than other review. We stopped fora quick lunch and had the special soup and sandwich. Very nice, quick, delicious.
