15 Places That Don't Need the Holidays to Twinkle and Sparkle

"Officially opened in 2010, this impressive bridge designed by Italian architect Michele de Lucchi connects the historic old town of Tbilisi to the west and Rike Park to the east.  The modern design of this bridge over the Mtkvari river received mixed reactions. Locals and several well-known politicians and public figures criticized the structure for its extravagant design against the backdrop of the historical landmarks in the old town. The bridge stretches more than 400 feet (150 meters) across the river. A walk across provides a great view in both directions, capturing many of the city’s sights such as the Metekhi Church and the iconic statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali. The bridge is composed of many large curved, steel beams with multiple glass panels. Around each panel are multiple LED lights that make the bridge an iconic sight during sunsets." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

A stunning modern landmark in the heart of Tbilisi! 🇬🇪🌟 The Bridge of Peace is an architectural marvel and a must-visit when exploring Tbilisi. Located across the Kura River, it beautifully connects the old town with the newer parts of the city, making it both a functional and scenic spot. The design of the bridge is truly eye-catching — sleek, modern, and illuminated with thousands of LED lights in the evenings, creating a magical atmosphere. Walking across the bridge, you get breathtaking views of the river, the historic Old Town, and the surrounding hills. It’s pedestrian-friendly, safe, and a great place for photos, romantic strolls, or just enjoying the cityscape. The combination of modern architecture and the natural beauty of Tbilisi makes the Bridge of Peace a perfect symbol of the city’s blend of history and contemporary style. The Bridge of Peace in the center of Tbilisi is not without controversy. Some people dislike it because they feel that it disrupts the harmony of the more classical architecture around it. I found that it actually integrates quite well with the river and the old and newer sections of the city. The bridge was designed and built in Italy and assembled in Tbilisi with lighting provided by French designers. Like it or not, it's a very memorable structure that's hard to ignore. Tourists and visitors love to visit it for pictures and memories.

✨ Morning at the Bridge of Peace ✨ Walking across this stunning glass-and-steel landmark in Tbilisi was such a surreal experience. In the calm of the morning, with soft light filtering through its arched design, I could really feel the beauty of how it connects the Old Town with modern Rike Park. It’s not just a bridge — it’s where tradition and modernity shake hands, and I was right there in the middle of it, soaking it all in. 🌿🌉

It's a beautiful bridge located above river Kura. It gets its charm because of the glass used in its construction which have lights fitted (LED ones, most probably). So it gets quite obvious that the best time to see this bridge and admire its true beauty is after sunset when the lights are on. You will find some other activities to do too nearby only.

A stunning landmark. The modern glass and steel design stands out beautifully against the old city. At night, the bridge lights up and creates a fantastic view—perfect for photos and a nice walk across the river.

The Bridge of Peace os one of the modern landmarks of Tbilisi. It might not be long but it has great views of the river and the Old Town. One side connects to Rike Park which is a decent park to visit although not the best in Tbilisi and the other side could be a bit better kept with it being a bit dirty compared to the other side. Beware of scammers on the bridge that can be full of tourist traps at time.

This is definitely a must-visit spot in Tbilisi! Located right in the heart of the city, the bridge offers stunning views both from afar and while walking across. Its modern, sleek design beautifully connects the city, and since it’s situated in Rike Park, you also get to enjoy a lovely stroll through greenery before stepping onto the bridge. At the entrance, there are these unique “falling trees” I’d never seen before, which make it even more special. Walking across is an experience in itself—you’ll find people offering bird photos, even a 360° video booth if you want to have some fun! On the other side, there are plenty of great restaurants to try. Overall, such a beautiful and lively spot that I’d highly recommend.
