15 Places That Don't Need the Holidays to Twinkle and Sparkle

"Officially opened in 2010, this impressive bridge designed by Italian architect Michele de Lucchi connects the historic old town of Tbilisi to the west and Rike Park to the east.  The modern design of this bridge over the Mtkvari river received mixed reactions. Locals and several well-known politicians and public figures criticized the structure for its extravagant design against the backdrop of the historical landmarks in the old town. The bridge stretches more than 400 feet (150 meters) across the river. A walk across provides a great view in both directions, capturing many of the city’s sights such as the Metekhi Church and the iconic statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali. The bridge is composed of many large curved, steel beams with multiple glass panels. Around each panel are multiple LED lights that make the bridge an iconic sight during sunsets." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

The Bridge of Peace is one of the most iconic and beautiful landmarks in Tbilisi! Its modern design — a stunning glass-and-steel structure — contrasts perfectly with the historic architecture around it, symbolizing the connection between Georgia’s rich past and its vibrant future. Walking across the bridge, you get spectacular views of the Mtkvari River and both the old and new parts of the city. At night, the bridge becomes even more magical with its LED light display, which adds a romantic and futuristic feel to the whole area. It’s an amazing spot for photos, especially at sunset or after dark. The bridge is also very pedestrian-friendly, clean, and safe, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists. It's centrally located, so it’s easy to combine with visits to Rike Park, the Old Town, or the cable car station nearby. More than just a bridge, it’s a symbol of unity and progress — a must-visit location when you're in Tbilisi. Whether you're sightseeing, relaxing by the river, or just taking a scenic stroll, the Bridge of Peace is truly unforgettable.

The bridge is not super impressive but it has nice meaning. You can try the boat trip , 30 GEL. They will give you 1 free drink and let u drive the boat. Should go at sunset time to catch the best view (you also can ask for a private boat with 2 pax or your group)

Bridge of Peace was chosen to reflect Georgia's desire for peace and reconciliation particularly in the context of it's ongoing conflicts It's a beautiful bridge to just stand and watch the city, we also took a boat ride which kind of felt dangerous as I have never seen a city river flowing with such speed. Watching the life guards got a little worried too. Visit the bridge at night too.

The structure itself is stunning — no question about that. The design is unique and bold, and it definitely stands out in the city. 📸✨ But the overall vibe around it? Not great. The area is crowded with people constantly trying to sell you something, pull you into a restaurant, or get your attention in some way. It doesn’t feel relaxed at all — and for me, that kills the experience. It’s not about locals or tourists — it’s just too much going on, and none of it feels natural. I personally can’t stand being approached every few meters while just trying to walk. Honestly, you’re better off finding a calmer spot with a view of the bridge and snapping your photo from a distance. Seeing it from afar feels more peaceful than being on it.

The bridge runs over the kura river and is a pathway between old city and Rick park. Nice place to go and click pictures. There are led at night but it was an average experience to view it at night

Very beautiful area all around not only the beautiful bridge, you can spend days looking around that area. It’s full of parks and cathedrals. A lot of places to eat in both sides. The bridge was made in Italy and brought into the country in ships to be installed. Such a stunning architecture.
