"The most high-adrenaline way to see Sydney Harbour, BridgeClimb has been dressing up locals and travelers in jumpsuits and safety harnesses to ascend “The Coathanger” since 1998. Along the way, they learn fun facts about the Sydney Harbour Bridge, like how it was built usingsix million rivets, which bridge workers tossed to each other when they were white hot and ready to weld. You’ll also gain a new appreciation for the Sydney Opera House as well as the world’s deepest natural harbor, which just so happens to be the birthplace of European Australia . At the top, strike your favorite Zoolander pose, or try "the koala," which Ben Stiller invented during his climb."

Highly recommend doing the bridge climb as it truly is a once in a lifetime experience. The view when you get up to the very top is amazing. I booked tickets for my friend and I as it was her 22nd Birthday present and she had a great time too. The day we went was a bit cloudy but it didn’t dim our experience because when we made it to the too a rainbow appeared in the sky. Such a beautiful moment. Easy booking online with different climb options. Everything was fairly straightforward with the safety checks and everything. Overall, such a great experience.

I went at night during vivid fest. All my nerves melted away talking with staff and members of my international group. I was the only solo participant but didn't feel isolated at all. This experience was fun from beginning to end and though it is exhausting the climb is easy and the views are worth the lifetime memories.

I was nervous at first (fear of heights + recovering from an ankle injury!), but the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb turned out to be one of the most unforgettable things I’ve done. We chose the 4 PM climb — highly recommend, as you get both sunset and night views. It’s about 3 hours total, with 1,300+ steps and eight vertical ladders. You don’t need to be an athlete, but you should feel confident with stairs, balance, and being up high. If you have a fear of heights like I do, know that it’s absolutely possible to do this with the right mindset and steady guidance — the staff is excellent and safety is top-notch. No phones or watches allowed, but they take great photos for you. Dress warm in winter and wear proper shoes. A must-do experience in Sydney if you’re ready to push yourself a little and take in a view you’ll never forget.

I’d wanted to do this ever since I saw the Mary-Kate and Ashley movie where they went Down Under and they were shown doing this in a montage. I’m glad we did it, this was pretty cool. Good bit of safety work and prep on the front end but the experience itself is fun. No cameras or even watches allowed so I’ll never know how difficult my body rated the climb lol. Mitch was great! Some people do this more than once; it is hard to say when I’ll be in Australia again so I’m not sure. It is a little pricey to do it more than once, I’ve been spoiled by the free museums here.

Google
The highlight during my trip in Australia! The staff throughout the whole process were amazing. My guide Nicola was fabulous! Full of stories and making sure that we were safe and enjoying our time! They even sand me happy birthday on the top of the bridge what can I say! :) I did the summit climb and I can’t recommend it enough! The day was cold but sunny and I book 14:00 which allowed me to see the beginning of the sunset! If you are afraid of heights don’t worries no only it is very safe as the majority of the climb is don’t without see it below! Unfortunately you are not allowed to take any camera/phones however they will take your pictures for you! Super recommended!

Google
I had such an amazing experience walking the entire length. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The view was amazing. There were no lean backs over the edge, which I was hoping for. The photos taken were brilliant. I truly recommend giving it a go. You won't regret it.

My wife and I did the Bridge Climb on a Monday in June. No crowds, beautiful weather, and the climb was worth it. Shout out to our guide Jack, was excellent. He instilled confidence in our group, very affable, and quite knowledgeable of the bridge's history and construction. To those who are a little squeamish about heights, it's not bad at all. The precautions and safety features are very good. Photo taken during Vivid Sydney.

I had a phenomenal experience! I highly recommend!! Being that heights do scare me EVERYONE made me feel super comfortable, safe & confident in climbing the bridge. Also got the picture package & all the pics are great!!

Yelp
12/3/2024 People If adventurous and in Sydney Australia and not afraid to shell out a few bucks a definite must do. Also if you're not afraid of heights. Pricing varies depending on time slots, day, and experience. Ours was about $240 pp which includes photos. Total experience was about 3+ hours Upon arrival forms and health clearance you were then directed to changing area to don your jumper. Depending on heat they suggest removing clothing leaving on underwear etc. Next you are taking through instructions of how to climb ladders appropriately and how to handle Your attachment along the way No jewelry watches, Fitbit etc allowed. You will miss out on any steps exercise activity you normally track. If you have glasses they provide clips to secure. I have to admit it was scary at times especially when one leg would not stop shaking. But upon reaching the summit and looking across it made it all worth it. Our guide known as Jam was freaking amazing. Funny, knowledgeable and most important made our climb safe and enjoyable. BridgeClimb rocks and provided a once in a lifetime experience.

Yelp
Poor customer service at the BridgeClimb Cafe. The cashier tells me that the shirts are unisex which is NOT true for all of the shirts and does not help me with finding the right size. She wasted my time waiting and did not take care of me or help me. I ended up having to help myself after waiting for awhile without assistance and she did not apologize when I told her I didn't hear anything back from her. The sunset climb itself was a great experience that was unfortunately ruined by the completely polar opposite experience at the BridgeClimb Cafe.

Yelp
Truly a once in a lifetime type of experience. How often can you say that you climbed on top of a bridge? If you're ever visiting Sydney Australia I would definitely consider allocating some time for this. My fiance and I decided to do the Summit climb which was roughly 3 hours long and varied in price depending on the time you choose. We opted for 11am which was cheaper than the 5-7pm time slot, but not as cold as the 6-8pm time slot. After checking in, the tour guide goes through introductions and breathalyzes everyone to make sure they are sober enough for the physical activity. So don't even think about drinking beforehand haha! During the next hour, you are changing into all of the safety gear and going through all of the safety trainings which include climbing up a set of practice ladders to give you a hand-on feel for what to expect which is really cool. Once all of the training is done, the 1.5 hour climb begins by hooking your safety suit into a guided rail that runs along the entire length of the Sydney Harbour Bridge ensuring your safety. I appreciate how the tour guide explains the history of the bridge as you walk underneath it and climb your way to the top. The Summit package included 2 photo ops with multiple pictures taken at each; one near the top overlooking the Sydney Opera House which was absolutely stunning and another at the very top of the bridge. When you get back and remove your safety gear, you can purchase the pics which is awesome! I totally understand that $344/person is not cheap, but if you have the opportunity, the experience is priceless. I had so much fun and the memories I now have will last a lifetime.

Yelp
Duplicate review, also see Sydney Harbor Bridge 5 star review, if it was not for the price... Yelp check-in, see picture; but it was not for the Harbor Bridge... Quality/Quantity - Very organized. It is the same price if you paid in person versus online. Since we have been hanging out in this area almost daily, we decided to go with the online registration. Smooth and easy. Plenty of time slots. Prepay for your pictures, it saves you $5AUD; not that it makes much of a difference out of the $750AUD we spent. The climb itself is NOT scary, even if you are afraid of heights; I am not. Really safe. If you have done the treetop obstacle courses, the safety systems are similar. Super windy today - 40km, but still no problem with the climb. Several options (5), we choose the one that spent the most time on TOP of the bridge. Lots of phone moments, YES they are super strict and will double check that you are NOT bringing anything against their policies. We even took breathalyzer tests, walked through metal detectors, etc. They have free secure lockers for all your belongings and clothes. Atmosphere - Free wifi. As you enter, they have a monitor running all the famous people that have done the climb, what a GREAT sales tool! Upstair waiting area, arrive 5 minutes before your time slot. Small museum/visitor center, history of the bridge. Very small cafe & gift shop. Street parking, we have been using public transportation and Uber. Open 7 days a week, rain or shine from 9am to 8pm. We also chose the day's climb because we felt that although the city lights would have been beautiful, we did not need to see it from a bridge. Service - 5 stars, from the people that checked us in to our wonderfully funny tour guide. Many different promotions & packages, see website. Too bad none of them applied to us. Obviously no bathrooms once the climb starts. There were one or two water breaks during the climb. At the end of the tour, you get an opportunity to buy your pictures. Our tour guide did a better job with our pictures than expected. Approximately 35 pictures for the both of us! Minimum health and safety requirements, see website. Price - $750AU, $502US. Expensive, but just like the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, you just need to DO it. :) LOL. Photo packages from $54.95 to $69.95. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1998. Thank you, glad we did it, even at your prices. Actually, I think it is a genius business idea to generate $$ towards the bridge.

Yelp
Sydney Bridge Climb The iconic Sydney Bridge is world renowned with each year one of first and memorable places that celebrate New Years with a bang and fireworks coming from a top the bridge. Prior to the BridgeClimb, you will need about 45 minutes to an hour prep time before you actually start the climb. First you will see a short video instruction, then you disrobe to your underwear, put on a cover all jumpsuit, place everything else in a locker. No wallet, phone, keys, watch is allowed, glasses are permitted as long g as they are on a on a strap. From there you get strapped into a harness, then you do a practice climb on very steep ladders similar to what you will face. Once that is done, you walk out hook in and walk on the lower portion of the Sydney Bridge. You start the climb, scale the top of the bridge, go to the center where the flags are, cross over and scale down. Just an unbelievable view and experience, nothing like you will ever experience in your life. For the rest of my life, when I see the Sydney Bridge, New Years or not, I can say I have scaled the top of the Sydney Bridge!!

Yelp
One of my top 5 experiences in life! DO IT! This is exhilarating, fun and slightly terrifying (if you don't do heights, like me). But absolutely worth every second and every penny. Views are fantastic and it is 100% a bucket list item every person should cross off.

Yelp
Climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of those bucket list items that you just have to do when you're in the city. You are in for an unforgettable experience if you don't mind splurging (came out to about $200 USD after using a promo code, but expect it to be about $250 USD full price, and we spent an additional $32 USD for the digital photo package). My fiancé and I did the Summit climb during winter (August) which was also on the same day as the Fifa Women's World Cup finals, so they were booked up. Definitely reserve in advance! Make sure to arrive 15-30 min before your time. I'm glad that they enforced starting right at our assigned time because three people from our climb were going to be late, and we did not wait for them. We had 11 people in our group. The first 45 min is for safety briefing, changing into the suit, securing your locker items, getting your equipment set up, and also practicing the ladder segment of the climb. If you're concerned that it will be physically challenging, don't worry. There were people of all ages, sizes, and levels of physical fitness on our climb; nobody had any issues. They have a system of multiple breaks while waiting for groups ahead of you and for photos, and there are water stations on the bridge. The stairs are very short in height and wide apart, so it is not anything like climbing a stair master, but more like a 2% incline on a treadmill. Don't fret if you're afraid of heights. As someone with a mild fear, I felt very secure and didn't feel uneasy at all. The weather during our 2:25 pm climb was perfect; the sun was up, and there was a light breeze. The view from the top was unbeatable. Our guide, Intan, was fantastic. She remembered every climber's names, cracked plenty of fun jokes, and just made sure we were all having a great time. We really enjoyed listening to the history of the bridge and the city as we climbed. The whole experience from beginning to end was 3 hrs. Cross this off your bucket list!

Yelp
This was an awesome experience except for the lack of photo. They do not let you take any electric devices with you on the climb. Yes, a photo was available in a digital package for $32 but given the price of the ticket, you would think ONE digital pict would not be asking too much. The staff and the guide on my climb were excellent. They are ALL about safety, from the Breathalyzer you take and the suite you wear. The safety precautions are in place from start to finish. The climb is not difficult and very well paced. The view is spectacular. The 360 Panorama from the top gives you a look at Sydney like no other. The photo thing a side, this is a bucket list item that is not to be missed.

Yelp
Surely you've got to be barking mad if you're willing to pay AUD300+ to climb a bridge! As kids we scaled many a bridge for free in my native Netherlands Nowadays I have mountains galore to climb in Scotland (or anywhere else) FOR FREE! Please people, wake up to shameless racketeering

Yelp
Can't be in Sydney and not do the summit climb! It's definitely a must-do and more than just having an uninterrupted 360 degree view of the city. Experiencing the climb and learning some facts/ history of how it was built makes you admire it more and honor those who maintain and preserve its significance. The climb itself isn't daunting at all and I wouldn't have known if I didn't brave to climb it. Just strictly follow the instructions and pace the ascent/descent according to your comfort level. I had the pleasure to climb with staff Scott and 5 other climbers from Perth, Melbourne, and UK. I got to experience climbing while it was sunny in our ascent and rainy in our descent. I got to use both suits: the usual overall and the wet pants/top. I would have loved it more if we had photos with the 2 flags flying on top of the bridge: Australian and aboriginal flags.

Yelp
This was without a doubt, the PEAK of my holiday. Our tour guide was phenomenal with an outstanding knowledge of the area and amazing people skills- matched only by his photographic skills. The walk to the summit is VERY doable, with the hardest part being the bit of vertical stairs to get up onto the bridge. The team there does a great job of preparing you for that with some indoors practice. You cannot bring anything up with you, so pack lightly that day. This is a rain or shine trip, so prepare for that accordingly. They do take pictures or you/the scenery which they sell to you at the end for about 60 AUD. Three opportunities for water breaks on the way up, and they do take breaks to let you catch your breath if needed. If you are worried about heights, no worries! They walk you through ever step *literally.* There is also a cafe on site with drinks/snack if you want a pick me up before/after!
google avatar

Natalie C.

Yelp
What an amazing and memorable experience. We completed the 3 hour Summit bridge climb with Amanda who was amazing. About 40 minutes of prep, the remaining climbing. Just note - it is rain or shine, and we JUST missed some rain, so either look ahead for weather or gamble on getting the right time slot you're looking for. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Me and my friend completed the bridge walk and it was scary, fun and exciting. I was shocked my friend who is scared of heights did the climb. This a popular and expensive touristy attraction in Sydney. The tour lasts about three hours but I definitely felt like it could've been shorter. The staff are amazing and are very detailed with what to expect and offer pre- training before your climb. Thankfully we went on a day where the weather was good because our instructor stated they still do climbs in most weather conditions except thunder and lightening. The scariest parts of the climb are the steep steps that only one person can use at a time. I loved that they do have staff at some of those stairs areas for support and/ or security. The views are beautiful and worth the mini cardi workout lol. Our instructor was entertaining and talked about the ongoing renovations occurring on the bridge. I love that they have a variety of options to choose which type of climb you're interested in with different prices. We did the full climb and our instructor took several pictures of us and a small video. You're not allowed to take your own cameras on the walk. At the end they offer you a picture package which wasn't too expensive and you get to pick from a selection of pictures you might be interested in purchasing. Definitely an attraction to check out.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this experience. This is something you need to do while in Sydney--you'll probably never have another chance like it in your life. There are some who complain about the price, but we feel this is worth it. You have a dedicated guide--our guide was Lawson, who was funny and laid back and full of history about the bridge, as well as info about the sites around us. There are multiple staff members throughout the stay helping you prepare. It's a very organized and intricate process that must be very expensive to maintain. The climb experience is probably 3.5 to 3.75 hours and around 45 minutes of this is dedicated to education and preparation. The crew also makes you feel very safe--everyone knew exactly what they were doing as they hooked us up into safety equipment. They provide you with hats or beanies as well as hair ties if you need them. You also have a fleece in case things get cold on the climb. You are hooked to a wire rail with equipment, so you're always secure. Another complaint I saw was that people aren't allowed to bring their phone. This is for your safety and the safety of others! This is 134 meters above sea level, along multiple ladders and over 1300 steps. And on the day we went, it was incredibly windy. No one could hold onto a phone up there, and even if they could, it would be distracting and dangerous. The website is very clear from the beginning, no personal effects on the bridge! The guides do carry any needed medications, such as inhalers. The guide does take multiple photos of you, and yes, it is 25 dollars purchase personal photos (I'm ok with this). You get a free photo of your whole group as well as a hat if you're not interested in paying for a personal photo. This was a daunting and exhilarating experience, but very achievable. The guide gives you several rest breaks and stops to appreciate the sights. The ladders are probably the most difficult. Most of the rest of the steps are at a general incline, so more doable that the average steps (there are just a lot of them). Some people call it a tourist trap. Some people complain about the price. Some complain about not being allowed their phone. I think this is a once in a lifetime thing that can help you feel accomplished. Photos are available for a decent price. Crew/guides are helpful and knowledgeable and understanding. For what you get, the price is reasonable in me opinion. If you're physically able, do this.
google avatar

Ernie H.

Yelp
If you only have to do one thing in Sydney this would be it. I can't think of a more iconic event than doing the Harbour Bridge climb. It's better than a ferry ride around the harbor since you participate, as opposed to just being a spectator. There is a comprehensive orientation before you go up and you'll understand why once you start the climb. Anything that's exciting has a sense of danger and this one does. We did the summit climb which last 3.5 hours long and that first hour is just the orientation itself. There's a sense of exhilaration to be standing on top. The 360 degree view of Sydney is literally breathtaking since the wind is quite buffeting. You see almost everything from up there. God blessed us on our climb with a glorious sunny day. So don't hesitate and do the bridge climb NOW!
google avatar

Mike D.

Yelp
Awesome staff - patient with climbers and safety always featured, from my experience! Efficient check/in, on/line process and check-out with no pressure pics to purchase. Checked off from my bucket list . My opinion- early better and sometimes a price break.

Yelp
Challenged myself to do ALL the things on this work trip to Sydney one of which was climb the Sydney Harbor Bridge. To say I am terrified of heights is an understatement but never once did i feel uneasy on the climb even with extreme winds that shut down the rest of the groups climb for the evening. The climb was gradual and I never found myself straining or out of breath. The safety procedures are absolutely outstanding and I felt 100% prepared to climb after the hour long prep. The tour guide was friendly and made lots of stops to take photos of climbers as you are not allowed to take ANYTHING with you not issued by the company up for safety reasons. I highly recommend the sunset climb as you get so see Sydney during day light hours then really enjoy the beauty of dusk and darkness as you return down the other side.
google avatar

Yelp
So expensive but the experience will be worth while. I booked the night climb, it was around $300 but I don't regret it. Its a one time thing and I won't be back to Australia for awhile. Show up on time because they do start promptly. The climb itself is a walk and some climbing but not much climbing. It was not scary. The night was pretty because of the light. Please don't do the half climb, do the whole so you can get a view of the Opera house
google avatar

Niki B.

Yelp
We did the bridge climb at night and it was absolutely amazing. Climbing up into the dark sky surrounded by the sparkly city lights was pure magic. You can choose to do the climb in the day or night, and I'm sure that day would be stunning too. The walk up is super interesting as you stare out over the water. Obviously this isn't an activity I'd suggest to someone who's scared of heights, but the walk in general felt really safe and not scary. There is a specified walkway and you're hooked in with cords on both sides. The path is wide, has walls, and is solid ground. Our tour guide was fun and it's a memory that I'll never forget!

Yelp
Climbing the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge....134 meters above sea level, 1300 steps ....this was on my list of must do's when visiting Sydney, but so hard to plan ahead with the weather. I called as soon as they opened and got a spot for a 10 am full bridge climb that day. Lot's of people complain about the price $300, worth every cent..its a experience of a lifetime! After I checked in, I was imminently directed to the upstairs area for the first of many stops to prepare for the climb. The staff here take every precaution measure to safety... great job. First stop was in a small room to fill out a form, let them know any health issues and a breathalyzer. We watched a short video on what to expect than it was off to the next room. Here we received a onesie to wear, since it was so warm we were instructed to only wear our underwear under these. We were shown where to change, than on to the locker area to place all personal items in there...no phones, cameras, hair ties allowed. Only glasses/sunglasses ( we were given cords to safely secure them) We even walked through a metal detector and a scan to prove no phones! On to our harness, super easy direction to step into these and the staff makes sure everyone is safely fitted. They even have us all practice walking up and down with the secure cables. Last stop was getting our earpieces and radios..great to make sure everyone in the group can hear the guide regardless of where they are. Finally it's time to climb, starting out under the bridge walking along narrow pathways. With every step the view gets even better, people are waving and taking photos as we climb. Crazy hearing the traffic drive overhead. The first leg of the climb goes up these ladders and a few tight climbs until we finally hit the main climb. That first look over the water to the city and the Opera House is breathtaking! These steps are a lot wider and very easy to climb. Along the way our guide was telling us all sorts of history and fun facts. Also making sure to take photos of everyone...yes you have to pay extra for these but who cares! Lot's of rest stops to take it all in, I really lucked out with the weather... previous days were really smoky with all the wildfires. With the full 3 hour climb, you go to the top of the bridge right under the flags. They already started setting up for their New Years firework celebration...the stairs were lined with cables and boxes. The descent was also beautiful, seeing the other side of the harbour and so many boats going by. The time goes by quickly. Everything about the experience was amazing, the staff, the views, photos.... make sure you treat yourself and do this!

Yelp
This is a must when you are in Sydney! I don't know any other places where you can climb a bridge. This was such a unique experience, but you have to pay about $268 - $403 per adult for summit ticket. There are express option and sampler. Check out the website for descriptions. We got lucky since we did the climb right after the bush fire got really bad that it covered the Sydney harbor. We were thankful for the experience and the tour is informative. Our tour lead, Ken was great and funny. Also a great photographer! We bought the pictures and videos.
google avatar

Randy D.

Yelp
I highly recommend doing the climb. Not scary at all based on the group I went up with. Worst part was heat, humidity and very little wind. As far as the climbing goes the most difficult section is the almost vertical ladders, four sections with roughly 24 steps each. Otherwise not really that hard, if you are in reasonable shape.
google avatar

Alexandra G.

Yelp
This was truly an amazing experience! Our guide was great - friendly, funny, and informative. I was so nervous but I knew I had to do the climb while I was in Australia! While I was super nervous and anxious, I just took it step by step and took deep breaths. If you're super scared, make sure you choose to be closer to the guide instead of the back of the line. Once you're hooked onto the rails, you cannot switch spots. The climb was fairly easy. It's small, slow steps throughout the whole way up. The views are amazing! It's too bad you're not allowed to bring anything up there to take pictures with, for safety reasons. But your guide does take a camera and they take your pictures which you can later buy at the end. Overall, super fun experience and would definitely recommend it to any visitors! It's worth the price and a great story to share.

Yelp
Not sure what I can add that 100 other reviewers haven't already said. Now that's it's over I'm glad I did the bridge climb. It was super windy the day we were up there and honestly I just wanted it to be over about half way through the 3 hour process. I'm so glad I had my sunglasses on to keep the dust out of my eyes. The guide tried telling us interesting facts and stories but it was hard to hear with the wind howling. They even mentioned a few times sometimes the winds are so bad they cancel the rest of the walk. I could barely walk at times and the wind felt so strong I was glad I was hooked on to a cable. The views were really spectacular and it was a good way to commemorate our wedding anniversary. They did give us jackets to wear and that was good because it was freezing up there. I'm from the desert so high 50's low 60's is cold to us. It was pricey but I can agree with some other reviewers that we're paying for a lot of hidden cost they have. I realize it's not everyday you can walk across the Harbour bridge. I would recommend it to those with the time. We had breakfast at one of the cute restaurants close by the Rocks. See Four Frogs Crepe ( near Quay Q) and DARE. Don't forget you get a free ticket to the Pylon lookout with purchase of your bridge walk. We enjoyed going there afterwards to look at the bridge we just climbed.

Yelp
We went on this climb yesterday. Our tour guide, Jake, was excellent. We had a great group and we had a great time. This was despite rainy weather through a lot of the climb. This didn't impact the enjoyment. We learned a lot about the bridge, the history of the city itself, and I had amazing views throughout the trip. We got a lot of great photos through many sections of the climb. We would highly recommend going on this for anyone coming to the city.

Yelp
An Aussie friend (who's opinion I trust) summarized BridgeClimb Sydney as follows: -- It's far too expensive -- It's very "touristy" -- But...It is a one-of-a-kind experience worth doing once So I took his advice and made a reservation for a morning slot on my first full day in Sydney. Because - who knows if I'll ever be back? The name pretty much says it all, though a better one might be "BridgeHike Sydney" In short, starting at the base of the bridge, I walked with a group (led by a guide) to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge using built in catwalks, walkways and ladders. Safety was paramount, so we were harnessed in the entire time using an ingenious rail system. One of BridgeClimb's key requirements was to make sure car traffic on the bridge was unaffected, so there were no cellphones or cameras allowed (or anything else we could drop on the roadway). Sunglasses had to be on tethers. And they supplied each of us with a temporary jumpsuit, harness, hat, and even a jacket if needed (all of which were clipped in securely). The entire system was very well designed. As for the tour itself, there were multiple types available: BridgeClimb (3-4 hours), BridgeClimb sampler (1.5 hours), and Bridgeclimb Express (2 hours). All were AUD 270 for a daytime slot (more for sunrise and twilight; even higher during the holidays). I chose the BridgeClimb Express since it was specifically for those in decent shape who wanted to climb to the top more quickly (and didn't want to spend 4 hours on the bridge). We also got to skip a bunch of extremely basic-looking training. In short, I had a fantastic tour. I was able to see the bridge structure from multiple angles; learn about its construction and history; and take in glorious views of the entire harbour. Stunning; and so cool. When a light rain started to fall, few of us cared. (I did hit my head a few times on low passages, but such is the curse of the tall) Despite the great experience, the price really was extraordinarily high for a pre-arranged route; staffed by one employee. Considering BridgeClimb has no competition, has been operating for 17 years, and gets hundreds of paying customers every day, I can only surmise that they have figured out how high a price they CAN charge and still keep their reservation slots nearly full. (All the equipment must have been paid for 10 times over by now). And the high price doesn't cover everything. For instance, if you want photos of your experience (taken by the climb leader), you will need to pay extra for that. Remember that part about not being able to bring your own phone? (What a convenient situation for them) The last question is: Would I recommend BridgeClimb to others visiting Sydney? Yes, but only if money is not an issue. If money is tight, there are some excellent alternatives - such as strolling on the bridge's pedestrian walkway or visiting the excellent Harbour Bridge Pylon Lookout (http://www.yelp.com/biz/sydney-harbour-bridge-pylon-lookout-the-rocks?hrid=QziW9XlLFAQUexUu42c0mg&utm_campaign=www_review_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct)). As for me, If I ever come back this way, I'll follow my Aussie friend's advice and skip it. Once was enough. Tips and tricks: -- Reservations recommended -- No bathroom availability for the entire tour; make sure to visit the loo one last time before putting on your jumpsuit. -- For a faster tour, take the BridgeClimb express. It's not really that difficult. -- Lockers are available to store your phones, jackets, purses, etc. -- A rudimentary changing area is also available (i.e. curtains) -- Wear light, comfortable clothing. (again, you'll be putting a jumpsuit over them)

Yelp
I thought this was going to be a dumb touristy thing to do but boy was I wrong. I absolutely loved this experience! I'm an American living in Sydney and I am so glad I came to do the bridge climb!! The weather was perfect! The staff was friendly. The layout and logistics were easy. The facility was impeccable and it was safe except maybe the ladder parts. They provide you with everything you need from the jumpsuit to the sunglasses holder, to a handkerchief to a rain jacket to a headset to a harness, to a hat that you keep as a souvenir. They should let you take GoPros on the walk with you but they don't which is pretty lame. They want you to buy pictures from them Wear tennis shoes. Come sober as they do breathalyzer test you. Wear comfortable clothing. Wish they played music in your earphones. Their guides should know more fun facts but they have limited knowledge as they're not Aussie which is also strange. You cannot best these views, so worth it!!!!!

Yelp
Bridge Climb is probably the most iconic thing to do in Sydney. And my mother visited Sydney over 15 years ago and did the bridge climb, and she really loved it. What was different back then was the price. She only paid less than A$150. Well now it is almost doubled...$280!!! The experience itself was fun and all. Sure. But was it worth $280 dollars? Absolutely not. But again, what else to do in Sydney? If you still decide to the climb, I recommend dawn to night time, as you can see the daylight and nightsight.

Yelp
I was recently looking through photos from our trip to Sydney and when I came across the photos of our bridge climb I was inspired to review. We had the pleasure of a night climb during vivid and let me just say it was one of the most liberating experiences I've ever had. My boyfriend had to talk me in to doing this because I'm deathly afraid of heights. The staff is soooo warm and thorough with explaining safety procedures as soon as we got going I was feeling good. Sydney is a gorgeous city but it was seriously magical during vivid. The energy is palpable. We even had a dance party at the apex of the bridge. The photos speak for themselves. We even got little hats (not T-shirt's as advertised) at the end of the tour. Truly wonderful experience! Even for the scaredy-cats like me, I HIGHLY recommend!!!

Yelp
Once in a lifetime, incredible experience! My dad and I went on a morning climb, regular speed (which seemed a bit slow to us). The weather was clear on the way up, and started misting a bit at the top-- bringing out a rainbow! That made for the perfect group photo! Such an awesome view of the Harbour and opera house. The torrential rain that followed made our descent a little scary but felt super safe with the cable system and harnesses. If you have the chance, don't miss the opportunity to see the Harbour through a whole new lens!

Yelp
When in Australia, do the Sydney Harbor Bridge Climb! There is no better way to see the Sydney skyline than from the iconic Sydney Harbor Bridge. My husband and I honeymooned in Australia, and decided to do the nighttime Bridge Climb to see the nighttime Sydney skyline and firework show. Admittedly I am petrified of heights, so doing a nighttime Bridge Climb was something that took a lot of convincing. But I am so glad that I did! The Bridge Climb was easy to register for online, but it does fill up fast so make sure you sign up for it in advance. Prices were not cheap, as it came out to approximately $500 (USD) for 2 people. But I do think it's worth the price for the experience and views. What impressed me was how safety-oriented the training was, and how organized the Bridge Climb was! It is definitely a well-run adventure organization. They give you headphones, a walkie talkie, rain gear, protective gear, and harness you to the Bridge's safety cables. As you walk along the steel and ladders of the Bridge in groups of 10-15., Your tour guide will make frequent stops throughout the climb to check in on the group to make sure everyone is OK. The staff does an amazing job taking individual and group photos for keepsakes. There are also photo machines where you can email yourself or post online the photos taken. At night it is chilly and windy, so make sure you dress in warm layers accordingly. The entire Bridge Climb took about 2 hours from start to finish and was average in level of physical strenuousness. The best part of the Bridge Climb were the astonishing views of the Sydney skyline from the Harbor Bridge!! Definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Thank you Australia, and Sydney Harbor Bridge Climb for making my husband and my honeymoon a thrilling and adventurous one we will never forget. Highly recommend you do the Bridge Climb when you are in Sydney! It's worth the high price and will give you valuable memories for a lifetime.

Yelp
Oh my god. If you're ever in Sydney drop everything and book the bridge climb. Although a little on the expensive side, it is absolutely worth it for the views and the inevitable overwhelming feeling that you are climbing an incredible piece of history and you likely won't ever do anything like it again. The whole thing is run so smoothly, extremely well organised and explained. All of the guides are extremely friendly and welcoming, although I have to say I think we hit the jackpot with our guide Intan, she honestly just made the whole experience for us. So knowledgeable, charming, funny and just insanely cool, we absolutely adored her. In conclusion. GO!!

Yelp
$208 per person. For serious. It's a 3 hour "tour" which could be done just as easily in 45 minutes. I'll award a star for a well designed process that gets you suited up quickly, also the whole thing is extremely safe (for you and the cars below). The staff was friendly, but they kept taking breaks for no reason other than to burn time and take excessive numbers of photos (which they later try to sell you for $25 each). When you walk in the door the price is not posted anywhere (you have to ask at the front desk) and there are photos of celebrities on the climb all over the place... leaving you thinking, well if De Niro did it... In the end we felt like total suckers. Avoid!

Yelp
The Sydney Harbor Bridge Climb is a must...a true 5-star experience and one of the top highlights of our visit to Australia! We participated as a family of five (2 adults and 3 kids ages 13, 12 and 9). Our start time was 10am and we all utterly loved the entire experience! It is a bit expensive, but well worth it and an incredible way to view the city, get some extensive history and architecture lessons, and enjoy the incredible skyline. The staff is professional, friendly, full of knowledge and it all is so well planned...incredibly efficient operation! They handled everything very efficiently and professionally from the safety briefing, climb suit changing, and detailed instructions for the climb. The views are truly spectacular and the walk is not particularly strenuous and many opportunities for sensational photos! At the end you can purchase photos on a USB drive for $20 for one photo or $60 for all of them (up to 10). Several awesome photo stops and great views. The whole thing took about 3 hours and it was well worth the time and money! An experience of a lifetime...great five star fun!

Yelp
What an experience! To be honest, I wasn't very excited when my husband suggested this on our vacation, I thought it sounded lame for the price tag. But once we got to Sydney and saw the bridge, I got a little curious. The day of the bridge climb, we were there very early, we selected the sunrise time. Everyone walked us through safety, rules, and practice climbs. Our guide was knowledgable, kind, and hilarious. Once out on the bridge there are 2 short streep climbs, the rest is a low grade slope as you ascend to the top. The views were spectacular, the history we learned was fascinating, and the time we spent up there will never be forgotten. I highly recommend it, if.you are afraid you may not be able to physically do it because of your ability to climb, I would say that if you can climb a few rungs of an A frame ladder at home, you can do this! My husband broke his foot 5 weeks brier and was able to do it. We took lots of breaks , not to rest but to take in the views.

Yelp
This is a 'must do' whether you are a tourist or a local. Known to Sydneysiders as 'The Coathanger', the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge is the world's largest (but not longest) steel arch bridge. Connecting the northern and southern shores of Sydney's sparkling harbour, the Bridge is an instantly recognisable symbol of Australia around the world. I've been twice now - once in the rain and then another time in finer weather. Both times it was exhilarating. The average cost is $258 for an adult and varies depending on the time of day. A cheaper option is the Bridgeclimb Sampler for only $148.00 There are four different types of climbs depending on the time of day. Dawn, Day, Twilight, Night, Bridgeclimb Mandarin (for our Chinese speakers) and Bridgeclimb Express if you want a speedy tour of 2 Hours 25 minutes. The climb leaders are very knowledgeable and will entertain you with stories about the history of the Bridge. The highlight is a set of photos taken at the summit of the bridge and then presented to you with your personalised Climber Certificate. If you are scared of heights - this attraction could give you fear. I must admit it was no problem to climb the main arch as you are very securely fastened to a hand rail and you are a few metres back from the edge anyway. I say do it - climb the 1,002 steps on the arch until you reach the summit of the bridge (134m above sea level) then admire the view of the Opera House, Sydney City and the surrounding districts.

Yelp
The BridgeClimb was fantastic!! Such a fun experience. Mitch our guide was so fun to be around and made us all feel safe and confident throughout the climb. You're harnessed in the entire time so no fear of falling although some people did have some big nerves about the height. Mitch also gave us really interesting facts and explanations about the bridge history and also Australian history and facts about all the sights we could see from the bridge like the Opera House, Anzac bridge, harbour, and more. Some things to be aware of: you can't bring a camera or phone, and the minimum photo package is $59. Ugh. Literally the ONLY reason this isn't 5 stars because that's really expensive as the minimum package, especially when the bridge climb was already pricy. You will wear a onesie they give you so it doesn't matter what you wear under in terms of photos - on a warm day you'll likely just wear underwear under it as it can get hot. It gets windy up there too. The climb isn't really that hard - a couple in their late 60s were doing the climb and said they felt totally fine. You don't need to be in great shape, but be prepared for a section with a lot of ladders - the rest is easy stairs but some people found that part more challenging. Overall a really fun experience!

Yelp
Definitely a must do in Sydney! We did the express package which was a little shorter timewise but gave ample time on bridge. It is great for information on building of bridge, history of Sydney (through headset given by guides) with spectacular views of harbor and Opera House. It is not cheap but they have a system in place that is well thought out, safe, truly unique and well worth the money.

Yelp
Although this is super expensive, we decided to try the bridge sampler while in Sydney. The process was efficient, our guide was fantastic and the view was breathtaking. The only reason I didn't give this five stars is the crazy price. We wanted to buy the full bridge climb experience but we couldn't stomach $1032 AUD for a family of four. I even thought the $580 AUD (10% trip advisor coupon applied) was crazy high. You also cannot take cameras on the climb due to safety concerns, but they will take your photo and sell it to you for another $25 AUD. The do give you a group photo with the booking but who wants a photo with mainly people you don't know. If the price were lower I'd give the experience 5 stars.

Yelp
Do it BUT only if you do TWILIGHT climb - this way you will see the city during day light, sunset, and evening light. Well worth paying $80 more. Climb is very safe and informative. Would not recommend on rainy, windy days and during daylight for full experience TWILIGHT!!! Otherwise not worth the money you would be better off getting helicopter ride during day.

Yelp
I am afraid of heights but this one of 2 activities my friend really wanted to do in Australia so the rest of decided we should give it a try. Frankly, I was worried about it the whole time and it was one of the last things we did on our 3 week trip. The place itself is a little hard to find on foot as it's kind of out of the way and not where I imagined it would be based on the location of the bridge. The preparation was very good, including practicing on some fake ladders so we could get a feel for the equipment. There were several people who dropped out before we set out, including one girl who essentially had an anxiety attack. I gritted my teeth and just went. Surprisingly, it wasn't that scary at all. The path and stairs you walk on are so wide that you can't really see off to the sides and mostly what you see is water so you can't really feel how high it is. The only parts that were a little harder were the ladders (short) and also the part where you could see down to the cars but if you don't stare straight down, it's fine. The views were amazing and our guide got some great photos for us. This place underwent a change in management company recently and apparently the upgraded the securing belt, which I felt to be very sturdy. The guide we had (I feel badly I forgot his name) was absolutely wonderful. He's somewhat of a legend there because he's been there so long. He told us a lot of little stories and tidbits about the bridge throughout the walk, mainly to keep us distracted from being scared. I loved that he took his time and allowed us a lot of time to enjoy the view and also he put great care into taking our photos. As we were up there we saw the groups ahead of us, and even more so, the groups behind us and how quickly they were going. We could tell the groups behind us were a little annoyed at how long we took but our guide didn't care (because he's awesome) so I feel like our experience was likely better than the other groups due to our guide. I am dropping off a star for this place due to the price. It's extremely expensive, especially considering what they're providing. My friend told me that price has tripled over the years since she went.

Yelp
As a fellow Traveler and want to do bucket list things - THIS IS ONE OF THEM. Expensive is in the eye of the beholder. If you find yourself thinking $300+ is not worth climbing a bridge to knock if off your bucket list, It's truly not a bucket list item for you. This experience is worth every penny. The service here is top notch. TRAINING & SAFETY - They make sure everyone is ready for the climb. You can tell the money you spend is used on your safety and enjoyment on your climb. The first hour that you're there is on training and practicing on their HUGE Demo Ladders and harnesses. I am very impressed on the precautions made to keep us safe from all ages. I cannot stress enough that they have built in DEMO ladders to practice going up and down the bridge before you get on the Climb. It's pretty awesome. SADLY there are no pictures that I know of because you can't take your phones here. SERVICE - Our Tour Guide was awesome and really funny. Again, safety is top notch asking us how were doing. EXPERIENCE - The only scary or nervous part is honestly the catwalk under the bridge. The mesh floor is bouncy and just feels scary at first. The bridge itself is not scary at all. You're attached to the bridge itself with harnesses and strapped on to the suit you're on. You are wearing the onesie suit, hat and headphones so you can hear the tour guide tell you about history and all about the bridge while you're walking up. I don't need great physical ability to walk this bridge. You can take it slow. Overall - There's no risk and all fun at this place! You won't regret the experience!

Yelp
I loved the bridge climb! I did the morning climb and had to get up at 3:30 am to start my climb. My guide was great and knowledgeable. I had a pretty big group - there were around 12 people. But the guide was very attentive to everyone and we successfully made it to the top of the bridge. I would definitely do this again!

Yelp
I love climbing things, but usually I only climb mountains and nature stuff like that, so being able to climb a real bridge was very exciting. From the start, the experience was extremely professional and well thought out. From getting your jumpsuit to getting your belt/harness to getting all the add-ons like a beanie, windbreaker, radio, and flashlight, it was all so smooth, even for the large groups that the tours are done in. Again, everything is well thought out and fastened to your suit, they even have mechanisms to clip your glasses on so they can't fall off! Then, they give you a quick tutorial on how to climb the ladders, which are the trickiest part. Through this run through, you get to practice climbing and walking while being attached to the structure, and, most importantly, how to free yourself when your sliding wheel mechanism inevitably gets stuck. After an hour or so of equipment setup and practice, you're finally ready to make the climb. Throughout the whole climb, your guide is constantly giving fun facts and history about Sydney (and if you happen to get a guide like Edward, some great puns!!), so you don't have to listen to your thoughts about falling swirling around. The entire time, you're latched on to the bridge, so there's really no way to fall anyway. The walk starts pretty narrow, then gets pretty dark and low ceilings under the bridge. Once you climb up all the ladders and get onto the top of the bridge, the walkway is nice and wide, and the views are gorgeous. It does get quite windy, however, but that's a small price to pay. The whole walk in total takes maybe 90 minutes? I really don't know. You can't bring anything up, but they do take pictures for you (for purchase of course). This is my only gripe: there is quite a bit of downtime as the guide takes pictures for all the other people in your group. There are three picture stops and waiting for everyone takes some time. The view is still great to look at, but especially if it is raining or cold, it can be a little uncomfortable waiting like that. Other than that, everything is amazing! Price is high, but hey, you're climbing a bridge and getting probably the best view/tour in Sydney. The guides are all so friendly and knowledgeable, and they were really trying hard to comfort my cousin who is afraid of heights. Join all of the celebrities you see pictures of in the lobby (and me) and give this a try when in Sydney!!

Yelp
I had the privilege of making the BridgeClimb some years back. Not only was it unforgettable, but it will remain in my top 10 list of memorable activities I've ever taken part in. The tour takes a while, so you have to set aside a good amount of time, and the weather has to be decent. You're given instructions, you don a uniform, you're given a headset, and you're strapped to the bridge. Get ready for a lot of up and down staircases and ladders in a small group of people. Once you get to the top, you're treated to awesome views of Sydney Harbour and the Sydney Opera House. Yes, you actually climb to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. I've been to Sydney twice, and this, by far, was one of the most distinctive experiences I had while I was there. Yes, it's touristy. Yes, it's worth doing... for the views alone. At the end of the climb you'll be given photos from your experience. You can bring cameras on your climb, but there are some strict rules about when and where you can use them.

Yelp
If my rating were solely based on the staff, I would give this place 5 stars. The employees are phenomenal. That being said, the experience itself was just okay. The entire process was pretty efficient. You purchase your tickets, sign waivers, put on gear, and participate in a trial climb. I went with a large group and we were broken up into 3 parties. We were meant to go 10 minutes apart, but there seemed to be a delay and my group ended up waiting around for 45 + minutes. We signed up for the full climb experience, so overall we spent about 4.5 hours at BridgeClimb. The views are incredible and the guides do a wonderful job of engaging the crowd. No one in our group was particularly nervous and most of us live pretty active lifestyles so the climb itself wasn't too bad. The downside was that we spent a ton of time waiting. The group ahead of us had kids with them and our guide spent a lot of time stalling. After completing the first half of the climb, most of us were ready to wrap up. I definitely think that we should've opted for the shorter trip. Overall, the experience was pretty cool, but nothing to rave about - certainly not at that price point. You get a photo and certificate at the end (they forgot to print mine, but it was fine since I probably would've lost it while I was out that evening anyway). As an American, I kept thinking about how the cost of one climb would be enough to get me a full day at Disneyland. I'm just not sure it's worth the price.

Yelp
Ready to go to the bridge climb with my family since this is my first time in Sydney. We have 5:45pm team starting around 05:50. There is a lot of paper to sign and a lot of explaining and a lot of stuff to you carry to top of the bridge. I can't bring anything (no cell no camera no gopro nothing!!) but I understand the situation because what if someone drop something to down there?? You will be on the news.. anyway I was so excited to climb the bridge with my family one lady brought us to go up she was very very sweet and kind nice smiling and explaining easy way( I'm not from Australia) very nice!! But the problem is the picture.. the picture is horrible.. like horrible horrible!!! I don't think she has skills to take pictures.. like me I'm not living here so it probably my last time climbing this bridge with my family when we received the picture really so disappointed!!!!!! It's her or the camera?? I feel like i did the bridge climb for NOTHING!!! I have nothing to left( not even one picture) but the lady who took us up gave us a lot of good memories just in my heart.. oh and good part of her took her time to show all the good thing for us ! Thanks
