Bridges Bar

Let me start by saying this environment is next level for a hotel bar. TVs are showing the most relevant media and the inside atmosphere is positive. I was INSTANTLY greeted by Vilmaz, who is EXCELLENT. An excellent host and great bartender. My wife and I were treated like royal guests when looking for a seat. I want to start this review by saying that the espresso martini was the absolute best my wife and I have ever had. Served by Willie, we have never felt so taken care of with this type of service before. It is obvious that Willie knows about what he is doing and truly cares about his service and his guest. The atmosphere feels like home as Willie and Vilmaz work together as if they are family. They constantly communicate and share stories with your table like you are part of the family. Even as checking out, they both showed appreciation to me and waved goodbye as a family member would. It is obvious to me that the people working here care about their job and want to give their guest the best experience possible. After this experience my wife and I have agreed to make it our goal to stay here as often as we can . Thank you again Vilmaz and Willie!

Mohi at the Bar made our visit exceptional. Busy busy Saturday after show crowd - I asked of by chance they had tea (knowing most bars do not). He told me nicely that they do not and then left briefly only to return with 3 tea options and a cup of hot water. Class act and excellent service.

Hey Hilton NY, a $25 martini is unacceptable ANYwhere you are in the world. One and done for us! PLUS, please make it clear that gratuity is included. It's a dark bar, it's late, we're tired from working all day and the server did not tell us verbally. He def got paid well by our little group of 5 who only had one drink each, save for the martini drinker!

Received disgusting treatment. I’m staying at the hotel and they didn’t let me sit there for 5min. The bar was empty. It’s disrespectful to charge $600/night and not have seats for guests.

Drinks were great - but there were children at tables around us. Bar should be for 21 -and over - it made us feel uncomfortable to drink.

Quick. Moderately busy, the bar tenders were quick getting drinks into thirsty hands.

What you see is what you get. It's a slightly outdated hotel bar set up to for hotel guests to grab a drink before or after they leave the hotel for better options. Interesting crowd and people watching. Even get's more interesting later at night. Bartenders are seasoned and have seen it all. Suprisingly deep wine menu and the regular options for beer. Yes, drinks are steep but again, when in Rome, what can you expect. Are there better options?-absolutely. But sometimes convenience trumps value.

This is located on the bottom floor in the hotel. New York or not, their prices are outrageous. They way overcharge for some of their bourbons. Their food selection isn't great. We ordered a charcuterie board and it was honestly one of the saddest boards ever, especially for $27. The staff was friendly and attentive. They managed to keep up with the crowd that was there. It's clean and spacious with a big bar and some TVs.

Never open. Seems like an old bar that old sales persons go to after work. Even if you're staying in the hotel, you can find a hundred bars just outside that are waaaaay better

Quite an interesting place. The bar aesthetics and ambiance is pretty nice. It kind of gives me '80's corporate America vibes, and that's cemented by the Patagonia vest and button down shirt wearing clientele that look like they likely work in the area at UBS or something and take NJ Transit/Metro North/LIRR home. The atmosphere is different than what you'd normally think of a bar in Manhattan, I guess because it's in a hotel. Fun to people watch, maybe convenient, that's about where it ends for me. They had no drink menu, and when I asked about it, the bartender who looks like Edgar from the Aristocats said that they don't have one. I asked if they have a website, or something that would tell someone who was interested in spending money on drinks at this establishment what said drinks are available, but not that either. He said they don't have a menu because they haven't been opened for long I guess because of covid and I almost laughed out loud. Isn't that something you usually plan for and get set up before you open, is the menu and knowing what you serve? Talk about putting the cart before the horse. Sorry, I'm not James Bond, and don't have a "go to" drink. I literally saw a bottle of Smirnoff behind the bar and couldn't think of anything else with Edgar staring at me so I said fuck it give me a vodka soda. It was strong, but served in a small thin glass and was sooo overpriced. And they add the tip onto the check. And Edgar never checked on us again, although he did toss a bag of Doritos at us, I guess that's because they don't want bar patron's germy greasy COVID fingers going into a common peanut bowl. Anyway yelpers, that's my story. I had a good time but thought the service was abysmal and disinterested, and the drinks were overpriced. If you don't mind blowing money or dealing with service that came straight off the short bus, I do recommend this bar just purely for the nice aesthetics and feel/ambiance.

The staff here is completely unbearable. Rude and condescending. Prices are high since it's located within the Hilton and essentially a captive audience. Bar food / menu is pitiful. My advice is to head to the Lobby Lounge instead of take advantage of the literally hundreds of other options available within walking distance.

We had drinks here after seeing The Music Man. We had the best service! Ariel and Mahbub could not have been nicer or more professional! They were so friendly! It was a lovely way to end our evening!

Word on the street is that Hilton is on a rampage. Firing staff that keep the regulars Sidling up to its bars. Nothing free any more...not if Hilton flag is flying high. For a guy like me that spends close to 5k at Hilton every month, I expect certain courtesies. I can take business anywhere and pay full freight...there is absolutely nothing special about Hilton. But, to be told that I can no longer be given a free drink bc the waiter fears for his job is repulsive. Every night I spend enough to buy "the house" three bottles of my drink, and I drink maybe half a bottle. Really? While Hilton's prices may be slightly better over all than in the area (maybe a buck off) it's a shame that corporate America screws over minimum wage employees that give people like me (who spend 300 a night on liquor that costs 60 to replace) a free drink once a week.

Salty and sweet is the way I like my nuts. ...and that's the kind of nut cluster mix they had when I stopped here for a couple of drinks. In addition to those tasty nuts, I had a Manhattan that was great. It was also super strong...after one I was a little woozy. So I had a second just to be sure the first wasn't a fluke. Luckily, I only had to stumble a block to get home because otherwise I would have been passed out somewhere in midtown. Nice service too. Four stars for that, great drinks and those mouth-watering nuts.

Only giving it one star because the LIGHTING IN THERE IS COMPLETE GARBAGE. SO BRIGHT! It's like any other bar when they turn the lights on to tell you last call and time to go or a badly lit (i.e. overly bright) Chinese food restaurant. Other than that, pours are good, bartenders are very good too. When I go back and they've corrected the lighting, cut it back by 70%, I'll change from 1 to 3 stars.

I love the fantasy of hotel bars. There's just a certain air about it, of course because the clientele is either in transit, lonely, bored, doesn't want to venture out of the comfort zone, or, in this case, as with a lot of upscale places, the bar itself has an allure of "I don't have to know your name". Maybe that's too many movies that I've seen. But it's always kinda sexy. I guess. This is a power bar off the lobby of the Hilton New York in midtown. It's dark and kind of moody, with sloping booths and floor to ceiling windows to almost give an 80s slickness. I'd want Patrick Bateman to drink at a place like this. The tvs are small, hovering over the large 360 degree bar, as tourists come to shell out enormous amounts of money when all they really have to do is walk a block or two in either direction and they'll find at least something that's more down to earth. For two Stellas, the total came to 17.34. That's right. 17.34. There's tax on this stuff, like any hotel. It's not a great bar because of that, but it's definitely a place that seems like a cougar would lurk; on this particular night it was crowded with casual tourists rather than suits, but a couple of women fit the bill of "hello stranger" kind of attitude. It was just kind of hilarious. I'd much rather go to Hudson Hotel if I'm going to be paying 14 dollars for a drink.

This is a really cool lounge. Great ambiance and comfortable seats. The complimentary, flavorful mixed nuts are a nice pair with your cocktail. And Mahbub, my server, delivered exceptional service. Very courteous and attentive. I will definitely revisit the next time I am in Manhattan.

I second Victor L.'s review of this bar. I went to Bridges Bar last Saturday Night after a late dinner with a friend. There were plenty of bar patrons, but the bar stools weren't filled. I was taken aback when the bartender warned us that we would have to buy drinks if we sat on the stools. Of course we were going to buy drinks. I felt possibly insulted. Did it appear that we couldn't afford to buy drinks? Anyway, at least the bartender was nice enough to give me a taste of the wine I ordered before he poured it. He must have known I would order a more expensive wine after tasting it. The more expensive wine wasn't much better. The bar closed early, especially for New York (1:30AM?). When I paid the tab, the bartender seemed surprised that I was staying in the hotel, which is peculiar since security wouldn't let us enter the hotel without a key card. We were dressed for dinner at Quality Meats and I really do not think we looked like street urchins, so his behavior puzzled me. Overall, this place has potential and was a fine place to sit and chat, but I wasn't impressed with the bar.

I attended a private event at this bar. The bar staff seemed annoyed to be working and at best were short with virtually everyone I saw try to place an order. The later it got, the more annoyed they seemed. The drinks were average - nothing to write home about. The layout of the bar makes it hard to walk around if it is busy. While it is convenient if you are staying at the Hilton, you probably are better served (hahaha) going elsewhere otherwise. Also, in typical hotel bar fashion if you need to use the restroom, you have to leave the bar and use the hotel lobby washroom.

I love people watching so imagine my joy when I go down on a Monday night and there are 2 different hookers working the business guys. I've played this game for many years so it was fun having one try for 20 min to get me to go up for a therapeutic massage with happy ending. She left quickly after I let it slip that I'm better at the game than she is and I have arrested 100's of hookers on the streets and CL and backpage. Made for good people watching, which I may have mentioned, I enjoy!! Quick note they add 15% tip to the bill already. 4 Stella's with an additional $5 tip was $31.63. Pricing seems inline for the area.

They gave me a free diet coke when I was sitting at the bar watching hockey scores after the conference - they didn't have to since I ordered it, but when I asked for the bill I was told "its on the house." I wasn't even staying at the Hilton, so kudos for that. Bonus points to the bartender who sat and chatted hockey with me - even if he was a Rangers fan. :-)

This is a comfortable bar. Bartenders were friendly and fast. Get ready for New York prices added to hotel prices. It's pricey but, convenient.

Some old guy in red pants snuck in a side door of the Hilton to bypass the entrance where they were only letting in hotel guests so he could go to this bar. He then preceded to attempt to pick up on this lady who did karaoke contests for a living. (This is seriously no joke, I actually moved one bar stool over after I heard this just so I could be closer and hear how the rest of this conversation would pan out). The red pants old guy said he had money and could sponsor her. She left the bar without him but he was TOTALLY trying to pick her up! The even funnier part was that I ran into the red pants guy earlier in the evening at Faces and Names on 54th Street. I noticed him since he walked in, scoped the bar, did the obligatory lap around, and left. You can't forget a guy in red pants in NY in the middle of summer. Everyone else around that bar that night were business travelers. The tourists were all at the tables. Nice and attentive bartenders. Kept my water glass (and wine glass) filled during my eavesdropping.

So when you go to a hotel bar you expect nothing. Well I got more than that. I got great service and a whole lot of fun. Was at the hotel for a full week and it was during the baseball playoffs. The crowd was into it. The bartenders were too. Each night we were recognized and taken care of. And yes, protected. Single ladies can be protected when traveling on business and still be able to have a nice time without the riff raff.

I spent 90% of my time sitting in this bar during my recent trip to New York while staffing my company's "demo suite". Can't really say much about the place, other than the fact that it has overpriced drinks and the location meant I didn't have to stand on my feet for 6 hours a day.

Wow. Don't come here and expect to be served. Ever. And be prepared to haul out your wallet. $14 for a glass of cheap red wine. All this and no place to sit, too?

Um, $15 a cocktail for THIS place? Lame. Decent sized drinks, quick service, but it's sort of a crazy place and clearly overpriced. It's Hilton, not the Four Seasons for Pete's Sake!

The drinks here are expensive, but they are huge! I loved the bar kibble they serve (very good potato chips). The crowd is sometimes quite strange here.. typical "hotel crowd" if you know what I mean. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but it's very convenient if you are staying at the hotel anyway. A good alternative is Places and Names across the street.

My wife and I went to Bridges last Saturday night. We has just finished dinner and wanted to grab a drink before heading home. It's a great place to people-watch. The mood is dark, energetic and of course transient. Yes the drinks are pricey. Though all the bar stools quickly fill up there are plenty of couches to sit on in the lounge. There was way too many bartenders for the crowd that was there. Anyway, we had some great conversation with our bartender. Ever the health conscious, he advised to opt for the white russian in lieu of the high in fat Baileys. I like when my bartender looks after me.

Wandering around my hotel I figured I'd give one of the bars a try. The bartenders aren't very friendly and the bar wasn't very crowded. Ridiculously expensive cocktails but at least it was 3/4 gin. Entertainment consisted of watching the games on the TVs and people watching. Between the ridiculous tourists and a hooker, at least the small crowd was interesting to watch. Also, the lime chips are very salty but good...definitely a good way to make you drink more.

Nice atmosphere but bring your own crowd. Typical manhattan hotel lounge. You've got to make the experience...don't come expecting to find one.

Needed a nightcap, well not really but hey I'm on vacation my liver will get over it. Order my standard Dirty Martini with regular olives. As I was watching the bartender prepare I was like how big of a glass is he going to use. Just kept pouring in the booze. The Otis in me was happy. He did use a standard glass and left the mixer for refills. Typical hotel bar decent grab a drink pass out. Just watch the bill, they include tax and tip this I noticed as they rang up another customer. Maybe that why the pours are heavy.

Absolutely horrible service. We stayed in the hotel and visited the bar on Saturday night and as we arrived around 4pm we were one of the first people in the bar and sat at a cocktail table. It took us about 20 minutes to get a server to take our order and another 15 minutes to actually get the drinks. My boyfriend ordered a Captain Morgan and coke and the server, who didn't seem to speak very good English, brought him a beer. As we sent the beer back we also asked for the check because we had dinner reservations elsewhere but no check was brought to us. We sat at the table for about 45 minutes and our server was nowhere to be found, since we had finished our drinks and needed to leave we ended up going to the bartender and asking him to get our check for us, he told us he didn't have access to our check but he would find our server. Eventually our server brought us a check and immediately disappeared again which was annoying because our check was wrong. Instead of being charged for the $15 Pino Gris we ordered, we were charged for a $21 Cabernet. I went up to the bartender and asked to see a manager as we had been at the bar for almost 2 hours at this point for one round of drinks and they were not even busy. The bartender said the manager was not on the floor but he would try to find him and send him over, after another 15 minutes of waiting and still no manager we just decided to pay the tab and leave with no intention of ever coming back. I understand bad service if the bar is busy and just under staffed but for the lounge area not being very busy this kind of service is just not acceptable for a Hilton hotel in the middle of New York City.

I've been coming here since I first set foot in NYC over a decade ago and it has not changed. (I mean, literally, some staff members are still there after all these years, and still as friendly and accommodating as they've always been.) I have to say that I have never left this bar in any state other than pretty much blotto, but that's why I love it! From the apple martinis I ordered ten years ago to the Manhattans I order today, this place has never done me wrong. The prices on drinks here are really not anything out of the ordinary for NYC and actually fall into the pretty-affordable-for-midtown range, especially for such a convenient location and comfortable atmosphere. It's never overly-crowded and the booths are designed to offer maximum privacy for every belligerent after-work convo and flirtatious encounter. But I'm not gonna lie, I really come for the sweet and spicy nut mixture that is generously replenished throughout the evening. As long as I live in this city, Bridges will always be an easy go-to spot for me.

just what i expected from a hotel bar - good drinks and delicious apps and attentive service, but of course the prices match. we sat here because it was quieter (and less packed) than the bar near the check-in desks of the hotel, but toward the middle of our stay, they blasted the music and we had to shout our conversations. that is one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to bars. Still, I enjoyed my wine and apps but would only come back here when my vocal cords heal up and if I want to pay hotel prices (and no happy hour).

The service was terrible and the bar tender not very friendly. The hotel is under construction until end of 2016. I would not recommend this location.
