Given the mixed reviews I think it depends on who is working at the time. Have not stayed here, only eaten at the pub for dinner. On the first occasion, staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was good for a pub. What you would expect for a pub pizza and a good burger. The chips that time were really good. The interior atmosphere was also nice. It was not busy this night. If I was reviewing for just my first experience I would give 3-4 stars. However, my recent experience I would like to give one star but averaging it to two given my pleasant experience previously. The freo over the road was busy so we decided to go back to the Bridgetown hotel given we enjoyed the food last time. We should have stayed at the freo. The staff there were really friendly. This time at the Bridgetown hotel, the staff were rude. I was ignored for a while with multiple staff avoiding eye contact while I waited at the counter. I understand they were busy so was patient. When I was served the staff seemed rude and short repeated my order as a quick mumble. My husband asked me to ask for tomato sauce after I already placed the order and when I returned to the counter to request the sauce, I got a similar experience of customer service. When the food came out it was not quite as described on the menu or worth the price. We ordered the margarita pizza and the wedges. The wedges were not even salted even though advertised as seasoned with rosemary salt. My husband had to put the table salt on it. My husband was going to complain to the staff and ask for a refund but I said not to as they were busy and ignored me previously. We ate the food as we were hungry and left (before the sauce arrived).

Service and food on Xmas Eve was good so we came back. On Xmas Eve we ordered a veggie burger and vegetarian pizza. This time we ordered a Margherita pizza which said it had house made dough and was 10 inches, but wasn’t house made (tasted like a frozen pizza) and was barely 7 inches. It was worse than a small frozen pizza but cost $19. Absolutely wild and horrible value. Also for the hand cut royal blue wedges with rosemary salt for $12. They came out in a tiny bowl with no rosemary salt. At most a few dollars worth. I feel robbed from this place. The service this time was not good. They were also busy tonight so not sure if that is what impacted on the quality of food and service.

Dinner was very disappointing and won’t be repeated again.|Ribs were overcooked.m and burnt. Sauce/ dressing was gluggy and fatty. Only other on the plate was a base of chips which were ordinary to say the least.|Partner had the Steak Sandwich which on the menu looked delightful but in reality lacked substance with the only redeeming feature being the caramelised onion.|As travellers we try to support the local rural businesses but they have to lift their game and offer better quality than what we experienced here.

We didn't stay here but popped in for dinner early one evening during our stay nearby. Really great steak sandwich, well cooked and nice and tender. Great portion of potato wedges too. My partner and son both enjoyed their meals too. Will come again when back in the area

Can’t comment on the hotel but the service behind the counter was disheartening. The imperial stout tasted like there was something wrong with it so went to complain with it in a full state and ask for a different drink. The staff simply said “I’m sorry you didn’t like it” poured it down the drain and then charged me for that other drink. Will just go to the Freemason or the cidery next time.

Lunch visit only My husband and I popped in for a late lunch on a Thursday. The restaurant and bar were very quiet and had a nice feel; modern but with some character. The fire places would have been lovely if there were on, if they work? TVs are distracting, but if there was a game on it would be good. Desserts looked great. The Menu was good and reasonably priced. Vege burger was good and pumpkin and goats cheese pizza was really delicious and nice dough. Left full and happy.

I ordered fish and chips here during the blues festival on Friday. I only received 1 piece of fish and just came in now on a Sunday and people are getting 2 pieces of fish… so I guess I’ve been ripped off. It doesn’t matter if it’s the busiest day of their year, quality and quantity of food should remain the same, especially for that price.

Amazing staff accommodating, on the ball and kind. Fresh of breath air. Food was great particularly the home made cakes. Venue lovely. Busy but the staff managed all so well

Yelp
We were just driving through on our way to Denmark. I was absolutely starving and we stopped here for takeout food. They have AWESOME pizza. I was pleasantly surprised. Ordered a small margherita pizza and I really enjoyed it. Thin crust that was cooked perfectly. Toppings were delicious. We had a drink at the bar while we waited and the place is a really old yet quaint building.

Yelp
Was shocked to be charged $81 for 1 medium and 2 large pizzas. Got home (1 min away) to open cold pizzas with little toppings and burnt chicken. Not good enough in this day and age. Horrible experience

Yelp
The best eatery in Bridgetown, despite it being a pub, the owners have put a lot of effort into keeping the restaurant section up to scratch. The only place I eat in town. Accommodation also available.
