Given the mixed reviews I think it depends on who is working at the time. Have not stayed here, only eaten at the pub for dinner. On the first occasion, staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was good for a pub. What you would expect for a pub pizza and a good burger. The chips that time were really good. The interior atmosphere was also nice. It was not busy this night. If I was reviewing for just my first experience I would give 3-4 stars. However, my recent experience I would like to give one star but averaging it to two given my pleasant experience previously.
The freo over the road was busy so we decided to go back to the Bridgetown hotel given we enjoyed the food last time. We should have stayed at the freo. The staff there were really friendly. This time at the Bridgetown hotel, the staff were rude. I was ignored for a while with multiple staff avoiding eye contact while I waited at the counter. I understand they were busy so was patient. When I was served the staff seemed rude and short repeated my order as a quick mumble. My husband asked me to ask for tomato sauce after I already placed the order and when I returned to the counter to request the sauce, I got a similar experience of customer service. When the food came out it was not quite as described on the menu or worth the price. We ordered the margarita pizza and the wedges. The wedges were not even salted even though advertised as seasoned with rosemary salt. My husband had to put the table salt on it. My husband was going to complain to the staff and ask for a refund but I said not to as they were busy and ignored me previously. We ate the food as we were hungry and left (before the sauce arrived).
