We took my wife to Bridgette Bar - Toronto for Mother’s Day, and it was a beautiful spot to celebrate. The space is sophisticated, stylish, and open which definitely has that elevated, high-end vibe. What we didn’t realize walking in is that the ground floor has a more casual feel for smaller groups, and the patio looks like it would be amazing in warmer weather.
We were pleasantly surprised to be seated upstairs overlooking the street, which gave us a more intimate and scenic experience. The staff were friendly, attentive, and got everything out in good time. The food? Outstanding. The ricotta dumplings were like soft pillows, absolutely delicious. I had the Maple BBQ Rainbow Trout ( which I never order fish!) and it turned out to be the best meal of the night.
The only drawback was the ambiance. Since they had a massive brunch service earlier in the day, the dinner crowd was virtually non-existent. We were the last table there by 8:45 p.m., and even though the restaurant technically stayed open until 10, it felt like we were wrapping up the evening for them - though to their credit, the staff never made us feel rushed or unwelcome.
All in all, a lovely dining experience and we’d happily return for another meal—especially when the place is buzzing again.
