Bridgewater Apartments & Terraces

Booked apartment for river-fire and was told all 3 bed apartments overlook the story bridge. I also requested to overlook the bridge. We were allocated a room with no view at all. I rang and asked if there was another room and they said as I checked in late at 4pm that I couldn’t change rooms. They also advised that there was a change of ownership and they couldn’t accommodate my request. Rooms old and so many poor repairs. Even the furniture was deteriorated and had it. Lamp shades flaking everywhere. One of the single beds had ants in it. Shower made screaming noise. Was not cleaned properly. Alerted staff to kitchen sink that was leaking badly under sink and their reply was “it always leaks”. The cabinets were swollen, mouldly and damaged. New owners also spoke their home language in-front of English speaking guests. On the night of river-fire, another guest abused children in the reception area, involving police to attend. The apartments really need security on these bigger nights. Was it worth the money- no. Would I re-book- no. Recommend to others- no. I have never written a bad review before for any accomodation, but I need to warn others about this place. Don’t waste your money. It’s feral, in desperate need of repairs and renovations. Knives and forks filthy. I wish I had paid the extra for somewhere better as I left with Covid. Not clean at all.

Excellent place to stay. We arrived late on Sunday and had great service. Even helped us take our cases to our rooms. We were close to the ferry service and had great views. Had convenience store nearby and a plenty of eating places all walking distance. Great little hot pool to relax in as well as pool for grand kids to swim in. Rooms were tidy, just one issue with a bedroom door. Definitely will be back again. Cheers Dave Martin

The Bridgewater apartments is a enormous building with some apartments viewing Eagle Street Riverside and Story bridge. Also some apparents has been renovated, and guest have unique stay. Experience of heaven, a luxury, extravagant. I stay a year ago, or so, in one of those renovated apartment, on riverside views.... Was paradise in heaven... This time I got, into older apartment with old furniture. That is why I gave 2 stars. Housekeeping, is thorough, mindful and meticulous in renovated apartments, but, NOT in unrenovated once. I think the management there, forbids the cleaners, to clean them.... No cleaning at all.... :(

We had stayed here before booking 3 apartments in the terraces overlooking the Story Bridge and Howard Smith Wharves. When I made this booking to celebrate my wife’s birthday I was assured of an apartment in the same area overlooking the Story Bridge. When I arrived I was made feel like I was an inconvenience. When I got to the room which was not in the location I had confirmed it was old, cold, dark and the carpets and bed were all worn out. I was shocked and went straight back to reception where they found another broom that was newly renovated, see the photos! They insisted I be careful and not smoke. It was an improvement on the first one, smaller and had a better feel. I have stayed in many hotels/apartments in my working life and have never had to ask to change rooms. It was embarrassing but I am glad I did. We could not recommend this establishment especially as the price was at the high end.

We booked a two-bed apartment in the Boardwalk building. The apartment was huge and met our needs, we had a good bedroom for the kids and two bathrooms. The unit was clean and tidy and all linen etc was in good condition. Extra bonus was the washing machine and dryer. The unit could have done with a deep clean, I can understand from some other reviews what people are saying, but it wasn't gross or unhygenic, just needed a bit of a spruce up. The age of the unit was dated, but we didn't mind, it had everything we needed and a wonderful view out over the river. The complex is clean and tidy and has a great pool. The best thing is the location, absolutely amazing and we would come back and stay here again. Wonderful restaurants and cafes along Baildon Street, we had everything we needed within walking distance.

My room stank of stale cigarette smoke. Reception said that they would send cleaners up to fix the problem, as there were no rooms available for us to move to. All the "cleaners" did was to turn the fans and aircon up to full blast and open the windows further that we had already. The apartments are supposed to be smoke free, but our one must have had someone living it for a long time, as everything stank. Even the bathroom was bad. Great location and friendly staff, but unless you're a smoker or have no sense of smell, I can't recommend this place.
