Bridgewater Bay Cafe

Fantastic spot, especially if the weather is good. Food was great (fish & chips), but because a huge school group came through the moment I placed my order, it took an eternity for our meals to arrive. It’s hard to be critical - as there were so many kids lined up to be served straight after me - but I would imagine groups do go through from time to time. Apparently this lot didn’t flag their arrival, let alone pre-order. So really the staff did well to cope with it all. It just meant that because we were there so long, if we wanted a drink or another item while we were waiting, there’s no option but to go & stand in line at least another 20 minutes to order any!

We stopped by for lunch, it was pumping! We were so impressed by the staff (especially the man working the orders) who was happy, patient and friendly, especially considering how busy it was. The food was awesome, and even though they mentioned there would be a wait, it came out quickly. So impressed, and would absolutely recommend this place for breakfast or lunch to anyone considering a trip to Bridgewater.

After a gigantic walk to see the seals, we were famished. Walked straight into the cafe to be greeted with a smiling face and a warm welcome! Acknowledged there was gonna be a 20 min wait easy because it was BUZZING - new years' eve crowd wasn't letting up even though it was already past 2pm. Had the baked burrito wrap and the nourish burger. Very pleasantly surprised to find that both were meatless meals - not a typical order for us but have totally changed our minds about having more veg in the future, the food was so delicious! The wrap came with an avo/guac dip which matched it perfectly. Kudos to the team as despite the long queues and tables waiting the quality of the food was perfect - food was piping hot when served, no skimped corners. Thank you again for a wonderful meal.

Great location with views over beautiful, pristine Bridgewater Bay and delicious fish and chips with an OK salad. Cafe interior is dated but there is plenty of seating outside.

food came out in a timely fashion, especially for how busy they were. food was super good, everything tasted great and fueling! photos don't do the view of the beach justice, try to get a seat out the front on a nice day and it's fantastic. super friendly staff, will definitely come back again when possible :)

We had a lovely plate of fish and chips. The fish was great, but the batter was a bit thick. The chips were nice, crispy, and hot. Overall, it was a great experience. I enjoyed the meal overlooking the beach. Indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating has excellent views of the bay and surroundings. The fish and chips were so good that we came back for seconds. A great variety of food that will suit even the pickiest eaters. We loved it, will definitely come back before we leave Portland.

Wow! Just, Wow! A lesser Cafe Owner would capitalise on the location and views in order to cut costs and corners. Not this guy!! From the time you walk in till the time you leave you are treated warmly, like a friend. Everything from the attitude of the staff, to the quality of the food, is inspired by the same love and leadership, that only the most passionate proprietors bring to work. These people deserve the accolades, the rating, and they deserve your custom. Long may they live and prosper!

Best little kiosk in the world as it sits on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Great coffee, whether it's a regular or large size.

Love this cute little place overlooking the water. Plenty of parking and hiking near here. The food is great! Quiet little peaceful cafe. Very friendly staff. Plenty of seating and parking. I love it here.
