"Bistro by the Bay Astoria's Cannery Row has enjoyed a resurgence as a tourist destination for Oregon Coast visitors. As the former state capital clings to the Columbia River with the determination of a stubborn child, dwindling fishery and logging economies give way to opportunities. Bridgewater Bistro pairs perfectly with the new vision for the city's future. With wonderful water views in a historically inspired space, the Bridgewater is an open and welcoming environment with two levels of seating. Summer sends patrons out on the expansive deck shadowed by the Astoria-Megler Bridge. The menu is focused and locally sourced. Our party started with the Bloody Mary oyster shooters and moved through the salad selection, pausing to peruse the extensive wine list. Local craft beers and specialty cocktails provide plenty of drink options. The main course was split between the fresh salmon and the steak offering, and both were prepared with inspired seasoning. Staff are friendly and professional with a genuine commitment to the work they do. The views have a tendency to distract from the food at hand, but those dishes find a way to hold their own in the competition for a diner's attention. Combine value, quality, and service in Oregon's NW corner for a memorable dining experience at the Bridgewater."

First time going here. Made a reservation online just to save time waiting and grateful I did. Went for a small solo dinner and overall really good experience. My waitress was Katy, she was very friendly and had no problem giving me the extra time I wanted to decide on something to drink. I brought a book with me and my headphones to drown out any conversations, but regardless the ambiance was great. They had some music playing, the natural light by the window I requested to sit at in my reservation was beautifully clear and I was able to enjoy looking out at the water. I tried a different take on a desert and simply wasn’t a big fan. Katy was extremely kind and said I could try something different if I wanted. Overall a nice evening and I will definitely go back.

We’d been on the road all day and found this place right behind our hotel. Walked in about 30 minutes before closing (I usually hate doing that), but we had to try it!! Staff was really cool, super friendly, & professional, no weird vibe about us coming in late. Food was legit. I asked for lemons and our waitress actually cut fresh ones for us. She also made sure my daughter’s allergy was covered, explained how everything was cooked, and answered every question. Solid spot.

Calm and refreshing atmosphere, DELICIOUS and creative food, and attentive and kind service. We arrived with a sleeping toddler in tow, asked for a spot to sit where we could park a stroller. Instead, with forethought and work from the host staff, we got a spacious comfortable booth which was also great when said toddler woke up. He could (within reason) move around and the noise level in the restaurant (chatty and live with a guitarist playing, but not too loud) was perfect so he was not bothering anyone. We are vegetarians and the food options - well, first of all there were multiple options which isn’t always true - were creative, delicious, hearty, and had good protein content. Great wine of course, and great waitstaff as well. I highly recommend this place and I’m so grateful for the great experience.

Restaurant Review: Bridgewater Bistro – Astoria, Oregon We visited Bridgewater Bistro on Father’s Day, and while the restaurant was clearly caught off guard by the holiday rush, we feel it’s important to share both the challenges and the highlights of our experience. It took well over an hour for our meals to arrive, which was understandably frustrating. However, we acknowledge that this delay was likely due to the unusually high volume of guests on a busy holiday, and not reflective of their usual service standards. That said, once the food arrived, it was well worth the wait. The meals were delicious, beautifully prepared, and showcased a creative and unique menu. The flavors were exceptional and clearly crafted with care. The service, while slow due to circumstances, remained attentive and friendly throughout. The ambience of the restaurant is truly outstanding—charming, upscale, and perfectly suited for a special occasion or relaxed fine dining. Despite the delays, we would absolutely recommend Bridgewater Bistro. We recognize that our experience was impacted by the holiday rush, and we believe the quality of the food, atmosphere, and staff more than made up for it. We look forward to returning on a quieter evening to fully enjoy all that this exceptional restaurant has to offer.

Google
All the food and drink we had were delicious with an exception that costs this restaurant a star. My wife and I had salmon and halibut. We loved the food except that both dishes were really salty... like over-the-top salty. The waiter was professional and the atmosphere was comfortable. If we ever come to Astoria again, we'll consider coming here but the memory of extraordinarily salty food will likely keep us away.

Google
Great place on the water near the bridge. Excellent photo ops, friendly service and absolutely delicious food! We shared a bowl of chowder and wish we got our own! It was so delicious, loaded with seafood and a hint of curry that makes it unique (in a great way)! The fish and chips was delicious and fresh, as was the house-made cherry ice cream and lemon cookie!

Google
Overall, a very good dinner at Bridgewater Bistro. I had their excellent Hungarian mushroom soup, the local halibut, and chocolate torte with ice cream. Prices were typically high for a tourist town. The halibut portion was small. I changed the sides from corn and peas to fries. I was dining alone and wound up being put at a high top table even though I had indicated I would prefer to be at a normal height. Seating hostess wouldn’t give me the open booth because I was all alone. She wanted to save it for a bigger party. Within a very few minutes tables started opening up and I think I should have just waited for a regular table. The stools for the high tops are slightly too low for the tables making for an awkward eating experience. My waitress was excellent and that in part made up for the awkward table. I would dine here again in part because the food was good and it’s very convenient to the Cannery Pier Hotel where I was staying. I would just avoid accepting a high top table.

This was my second time here. I ordered the clam chowder & roasted beet carpaccio. Husband ordered the brisket. Everything was excellent. The brisket was very tender. The beet carpaccio was a good portion as a main dish for me, or an appetizer for two. The cup of chowder was lovely with a hint of curry. Waitress was nice. For dessert, we had the cheesecake and lemon posset. I loved my dessert. The texture & flavor of the posset was great. I didn’t care for the berry sauce because it contained seeds, but that’s a personal preference I’m sure. I think it would be better with a seedless reduction or a “sauce”. It’s a bit expensive, so be prepared to pay around $35-$45 for an entree.

Yelp
Very nice place. Attentive staff and delicious food. We enjoyed the very tall ceilings and lots of windows. Not a bad view anywhere. Would recommend to anyone

Yelp
Food: All of the starters we had were good which included the calamari, savory cheesecake, oysters, and bread basket. I had the mussel and clam chowder which was very good, it came out steaming hot and was creamy and flavorful. I also had the wild salmon B.L.T which was very tasty! The salmon was not dry, the bacon was smoky and yummy, and the garlic aioli with the lettuce was delicious! The fries were good, nothing too crazy but still good. Service: Our waiter was nice, but was not super attentive. Sometimes my water was empty and it took around 5-10 minutes for a refill, and we were ready to order but didn't see our waiter. Ambience: The view was really beautiful over the bay! It was a very nice and spacious inside and the lighting was great! Overall: Yummy for our second to last meal here in Portland! Very pleased!

Yelp
Very disappointed with this meal after we had an excellent meal several weeks ago. 5* ATMOSPHERE 3* SERVICE 2* FOOD Kim, was an alright server, most of the issues were with the meal. We started with a Beet Salad and Bread Basket. Salad was okay bread was better. My husband liked his black bean burger. I had Clam Pasta, didn't like it at all!!!! Clams had sand in them, absolutely no taste/flavor in the sauce, no bacon and needed salt/pepper, it was so bland and only lukewarm. The fettuccine noodles were VERY UNDER COOKED. The cobbler was warm and perfect! Outside seating was wonderful, lots of ships going by. Not sure we will return after spending $100 for lunch.

Yelp
On our way home to California after visiting my very ill grandfather in Washington, our family of five placed a takeout order from Bridgewater Bistro. Three of us -- my mom, my younger brother, and I -- have celiac disease, so we called ahead to explain our needs and confirm gluten-free options. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the staff asked, "What is celiac?" -- a concerning response after we had made the effort to communicate our dietary needs. While picking up our food, a man came out from the kitchen and said to my mom and younger sister, "Oh, are you having a feast?" When they explained it was just dinner for our family of five, he replied, "Are you sure it's not 500?" This felt unnecessary, unprofessional, and out of place -- especially given the seriousness of our dietary concerns and the reason for our trip. My mom has been traveling all day with 4 children and I'm not sure why someone would be so rude to a patron. For a restaurant that promotes itself as attentive to gluten-free customers, this experience was disappointing and left us questioning whether our needs were taken seriously... Over all we spent $160 dollars photos will be attached and the calamari was good, the chicken fettuccine lacks much taste but the chicken was good. The kids meals are very small Portions.

Yelp
Came here for a late lunch on a weekend, they were pretty busy but there was a single table that was free for us. I got the mushroom soup and the Reuben and both were pretty good. Mushroom soup was warm and had tons of mushrooms. Reuben was pretty typical. Also got a cider and pretty sure it was Tieton. View is pretty great since it's right on the water.

Yelp
Great food. Great service. No atmosphere. Definitely more elegant and gourmet. Also pricey, but a nice place to go for anniversaries or special occasions.
google avatar

Yelp
The only nice thing was the view. We started with soggy calamari served with a tasteless sauce. Then moved onto the chowder which apparently has been on the menu for years. Honestly, it was terrible. Cubed undercooked potatoes and celery soup is more definable. It was pretty sad as the location is ideal.

Yelp
Hmmmm. Upscale looking with a beautiful view. Piano is playing so it gives a nice feel to it. Service to be seated, took a while. But I chalked it up to it being empty. ( 5 parties here including mine) Finally sat, took forever to order drinks. Drinks came... late. (A coffee and a blueberry soda type drink) My drink had a terrible crack in it. Would have loved to exchange it, but shocker.. servers were amiss. Finally ordered food. Ordered clams to start that came dirty. More sand than necessary ( some is a given but see photos). Served asked how it was and I let her know and she smiled and walked off. So that was interesting. Waited 30 minutes for food. 30.. For a sandwich. I thought about just asking for a check and leaving it was taking so long. Food came, it sucked. Probably could have had a 3 year old make this better. Save yourself a terrible decision and go anywhere else while visiting.

Yelp
This place was amazing. There were many Gluten free options. And the food was so hot and fresh.

Yelp
Very nice restaurant with a stunning view ! Fried clams and the homemade tartar sauce were my favorite! The Brie and salmon appetizer were good as well! Cocktails were very well crafted. The Bouillabaisse was very good but I wish it was a slightly larger portion. Fiancé had the clam pasta and said it was delicious. Waitress was very friendly and attentive !

Yelp
Came in on a Friday early afternoon with no reservation and they were able to still seat us right next to the window which I appreciated. I got the salmon sandwich that was super solid with a great aioli sauce on it. I also got that with a cranberry salad which was also spectacular. Service was also great. Our server did forget one of our drinks, but felt bad and did take a few bucks off in addition to taking it off our bill she felt so bad. Other than that, I would say the view out the window could be significantly improved if they removed the empty dining shells out on the dock, does kind of ruin the view of the water. I will also say I don't really love the "Shanghai-ed" skeleton by the fire place. I get that "Shanghai-ed" is a term referring to being kidnapped, and I'm pretty sure coastal Oregon don't really care about being particularly PC, but that's just in extremely poor taste and made me feel uncomfortable as a person of Asian descent eating there. I don't mind the skeleton, but you could have easily achieved the same level of humor by just saying the skeleton was kidnapped in Astoria.

Yelp
This is our go to restaurant when we are in Astoria. We stay at the Riverwalk Inn and this is just a short walk from the Inn. The ambience is lovely, the people are nice and friendly, the food is terrific. This way, we don't need to deal with parking in downtown Astoria. We ate her two nights in a row. The first night, we had a delicious Caesar , fish and chips and the halibut special. The fish and chips are made with halibut and are nice though my husband prefers cod. The halibut special was excellent with a lot of flavors. I hadn't tried before. The second night we got the cranberry salad, pork chops and the chef special scallops. These were really delicious meals. The chef likes to serve the meals on purées. We enjoyed all of them! Both of our servers, Nicole and Teresa were nice and seasoned professionals!

Frank M.

Yelp
Probably the rudest service I have had in a restaurant in a very long time. For those wanting dinner with a water view, try the many other restaurants that offer that in Astoria. The food is basically average at Bridgewater and the service is abysmal. Take your business elsewhere.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday so they had their brunch/lunch menu available. It was nice that they offered both lunch and brunch, for those that don't want second breakfast. Celiac husband enjoyed the gluten free fish & chips and mussels/clam chowder. I had the very delicious Hungarian mushroom soup and sea cake Benedict. On this brunch menu they had multiple eggs Benedict versions which could be prepared GF. I like the warehouse romantic feel of this place. We keep returning as we appreciate the many GF options and view of the river. We never seem to catch the live music, but I bet it's very nice. Service is always friendly.

Yelp
This is a cute place in Astoria. It is nestled almost under the bridge from Washington to Oregon and sits right on the water. And the views are breathtaking. We drove across in the morning and halfway across we drove right into the fog and was birthed on the other side in Oregon. Standing on the deck of the restaurant, we looked up at the bridge we had just crossed and it was such a cool sight seeing the bridge half shrouded in fog. We looked up places to grab a bite to eat and we saw that the Bridgewater Bistro was highly recommended. I think there was a different soup that day as my wife got soup, but it wasn't the ones on the menu. I got a basic Caesar side salad with the dressing on the side. The soup was a little salty and the salad was crisp, but a basic side caesar. For our mains, I got their Cougar Burger and she got the Oregon Albacore Tuna Melt. Both were okay, but neither were outstanding. Service was typical. We both got Diet sodas as we had a lot more driving to do that day. We were trying to wrack our brains as to why so many people had highly recommended this place. Sure, the food was okay, but it wasn't stupendous. My thought may be the breathtaking views of the bridge and the water. There are other places in town. Maybe try those. This place was just okay.

Yelp
Great food selections, good service and nice atmosphere. The oysters are fantastic and I would recommend their beet carpaccio.

Yelp
We came back one year later for our 2 year anniversary and it was just how we remembered it. Negatives: -the price did go up a little bit, but for the live music and overall upscale ambiance I can let this slide. Positives: -taste, from the complimentary bread to the entrees and the soup everything was great. We got the pork belly, which was a sweet and savory delight. The alfredo with shrimp was just right being not to creamy. The clam chowder was amazing, the waitress (Beth) let me know that they've been serving the same recipe for 17 years too. We also got the braised beef again, but this time it was a little salty. -service, Beth was amazing to us she was very attentive and any time I needed her she was quick yo respond. Our host was also very generous, he knew that we were celebrating our anniversary and offered us two glasses of champagne on the house. Once again 5/5

Yelp
It was so beautiful in there that I thought I went to the wrong place! I made a reservation just to make sure and was instantly graded and they asked me if my name was Marissa and I told him yes ! I was seated instantly, I had a party of five including three of my kids. We got oysters which were so fresh ! Bread for the table which our server was amazing with kids and made sure to bring some more bread, as well as having the kids meals come first . The food was hot and kids loved it ! They had chicken . My husband and I had one of thier sandwich's it was so good I ate it all too quickly and completely forgot what it was. . We ordered dessert trio to go and wow .... That was DELICIOUS! It hit the spot as we traveled home. Great service . Our server was amazing . Kids ate everything and they even had kids cups ! A mother's relief . Atmosphere was clean and bright. You can see the bridge from the booth we sat at and we enjoyed watching ships cruise by .

Yelp
We came here at 10:30 AM on Sunday morning, right when they opened. We were given a table with an amazing view of the bridge and the water while we enjoyed our coffee. While we waited for our meal, we were offered a strawberry muffin with housemate lemon curd. This was so good without being too sweet! It is hard to beat a fresh muffin. I ordered a caesar salad with Smoked salmon-this absolutely hit the spot. Their smoked salmon is perfect, the greens were fresh, and the dressing on the salad was wonderful. We enjoyed the service and the relaxed ambiance here. It was a quiet and refreshing way to start a Sunday.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
We showed up during a road trip just wanting a break and some good food. They were strictly holding for reservations, but Brandon ar the host stand started talking to us about other recommendations and eventually said he could help us out. He found a table outside, over the water, which was actually perfect. The food was delicious and came out fast, and we were well taken care of. My daughter and I LOVED the clam and mussel chowder, my husband's burger was delicious and perfectly cooked, and my son devoured his fish n chips. We appreciate Brandon taking the time to talk to us and provide service even though we didn't have a reservation.

Yelp
Brunch with friends to say goodbye to a server from another restaurant who is moving away. The service is almost always good and was yesterday. The food was good enough though my wife was hoping for clams or mussels in her clam and mussel chowder. That omission was unexpected. I think of it as a signature dish going back to the days when the restaurant started in Long Beach, Washington. The original owners are retired. Nothing lasts forever. It is still worth dining here. We heard from other sources that a chef left since we last dined here. Undoubtedly things will return to the normal high quality before long.

Yelp
Ripped off!!! If I go to a nice establishment, and the food I ordered vs the cost is shameful. The Albacore tuna on the sandwich was a paltry 3oz smear of tuna spread so thin it couldn't cover the bread it was on. I had a French dip. Loaded with chunks of grisle and again about 3oz of meat on a small chibatta roll. The pop was flat. I asked for a coke. Was told they only had Pepsi. When I mentioned the flat soda I was brought a can of Coke!!! Which is what I requested to begin with. We arrived at 1230. The dining room was busy and they were short staffed. Waitstaff was running around and absent after the food got set at the table. 61 bucks out the door. I reluctantly left a 5 dollar tip. I will never go back again. A cold ham sandwich on the beach would of been better.

Carmen R.

Yelp
My husband and I had clam chowder. This was different from other clam chowder that I've had but it was sooooo gooood! I had fish and chips and my husband had seared halibut. We also had dessert! Everything tasted amazing! Our waiter was so sweet! We had such a wonderful dinner here!
google avatar

Ray G.

Yelp
I would have given a higher rating if it wasn't for the dish I ordered. My brother ordered a Halibut dish which looked great and he loved it. Mine was the Moroccan chicken which was ok but not impressive. My biggest complaint was the rice, it was mush and I'm not sure it wasn't intentional in order to represent Moroccan in style. The chicken was more like a pulled chicken. The chicken was good and spicy but the rice was detracting from the overall dish. The ambiance was warm and bright. The drink menu very good and the deserts very good. In essence, I'll go back and try another dish because I saw other dishes I'd like to try.

Donald H.

Yelp
Absolutely the best clam/mussel chowder I have ever had. And the crab salad served over water melon and fresh mango was delicious! We stop for lunch or dinner here every time we pass through Astoria.
google avatar

Peggy B.

Yelp
Bistro is the most appropriate title for this Bistro! . Cafe feel and food to match for an afternoon meal. We had the roasted brussel sprouts (appetizer assessment of this dish is ongoing) and they were one of the best yet. Crunchy outside but not over-fried and the combo of sesame and nuts really worked! Fish-n-chips were tasty as well, light and crispy as they should be! Really liked this place!
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
I was very excited to try this location out for my birthday because its lovely views and tuna sandwich. We went on a Sunday so had the option of the brunch menu along with some lunch options. At first we were told that we were going to have to wait for a table but Todd was great and ended up getting us seated shortly after. I'd say the service itself at the table was a bit disappointing. The waitress was kind but at times seemed a bit frazzled. I also asked what was in the Hungarian mushroom soup and she seemed to struggle a bit with her explanation. I ordered the Albacore Tuna melt and it was delicious. I am very picky about getting this sandwich but everything came out hot and toasty. The fries were also good! I would come back but would hope to sit outside with some better service.

J D.

Yelp
Food was good. Tara's service was exemplary. We sat outside with friends for dinner. Great view of the Astoria Megler Bridge. Excellent cocktails and good house wines as well.

Yelp
As my parents live in Seaside, OR, I usually make a visit here at least once a year. The ambiance is pleasant , spacious with beautiful views of the water and the bridge to Washington . The service has always been polite and professional. The servers work hard to make sure that your experience is a positive one. They have always been patient with my elderly parents, which I appreciate . Finally the food is normally quite good. The fish is fresh, the steaks or short ribs are tender, and shellfish dishes are seasoned quite well. I have purchased gift certificates for them when I am looking for a Christmas gift at the last minute, and they make it quite easy to purchase them and even throw in a special deal. Great experience, and I highly recommend if you are a local or a tourist visiting.

Yelp
What a beautiful restaurant in Astoria! Great view in a lovely atmosphere of an old restored building. Our Very friendly server, Jill, added to the experience. I tried out the watermelon soda for something different and it was light and refreshing. Not too sweet either. I opted for the peach spring mix salad with goat cheese, pecans with a pleasant peach vinaigrette. With the moist grilled chicken, the side salad size was just right. Loved their bread that had a nice herb swirl. My husband had a juicy hamburger and was very happy. Overall, a great find on Yelp for Astoria for lunch.

Yelp
"This place is lovely", said the man dining at the table behind me to his family. Agreed! I thought to myself. Absolutely gorgeous building and interiors. The vaulted ceilings with large beams of wood, natural light flooding through the skylights and ample windows, and self playing grand piano really set the ambiance nicely. Lots of quaint touches throughout the restaurant. We requested a window seat via our online booking and were seated at a great spot right on the end with a river view but wouldn't be disappointed sitting anywhere else as it's a really beautiful place. My friend had shrimp scampi and I tried a bite. It was excellent and delicious simple flavor. I had their daily special which was a Gorgonzola steak wrap. Very good! Might opt for seafood next time given the location. Service was excellent from the host to our server and the busser. We left satisfied and happy. Wonderful experience and so glad we stopped at this gem of a restaurant. I'd definitely come here again when passing thru the area.

Yelp
The food was amazing! We had the Wild Alaska Cod Fish and Chips. Also, the Ribeye was out of this world. Paired with an Iceburg Lettuce Wedge, Blue Cheese salad and a side of Clam Chowder made a wonderful meal. Steak tips for an appetizer and Carrot Cake for desert made for a meal meant for a king. (It was my Birthday) They have a huge wine list to pair with your meal. Ricco was our server and he was amazing. The ambience is casual, but classy. If you arrive without a reservation, you may have an hour+ wait, especially on the weekend. This place closes early, so plan accordingly. On Friday, there was a piano player adding to the ambience. The wait time for our food was a little lengthy due to the popularity of the restaurant. We were compensated with free desert for our wait. But we weren't in any hurry. I'd highly recommend this restaurant!

Yelp
Made a reservation on OpenTable. Arrived about 15 mins early. Was not an issue. Was seared in a booth that I had requested Waitress soon came over and took our orders. She made sure that my wives food allergy was noted for the chef. She also made note of my dad's hate for condiments. Food arrived, was delicious. The fish and chips are probably the best I've had. Fish is fresh and the batter is light and not oily at all. Ordered the blonde brownie for dessert along with some cappuccino's after dinner Live music was being played by the fireplace. On the way out , my mom spotted some custom made popcorn for $15. We all agreed it was pricy, the gentleman at the front of restaurant overhead and when my mom went to pay, he had given her a discount. We will be either going back, or grabbing something g for take out. If you are in Astoria, be sure to check it out. Window views of the bay. Being a coat if you tend to get cold as all the windows make it a bit chilly.

Yelp
We arrived without reservations around 7pm on a Saturday. We were seated within moments to our surprise. There was live music playing, which provided a wonderful atmosphere. The music gave "pink martini" vibes, so we really enjoyed it. The menu had so many great options. We ordered a couple small plate options to start. Thai brussel sprouts and seafood cakes-of-the-day. Those partnered with bread and a salad were pretty filling so we skipped ordering entrees. Our beverages were fantastic: sparkling huckleberry lemonade for the non-alcoholic option and a tasty, tart cherry cider for the grownup. We overheard the dessert offerings being described to the table next to us and our dessert stomachs started to growl! The ice cream of the moment was white chocolate & peppermint chip served with a fresh cookie. My partner ordered Oregon berry cobbler served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I immediately had FOMO. Luckily my spoon could reach both dessert bowls. The service was top tier. From the hostess to our server, Leslie, we were very impressed with every part of our experience. Will definitely dine here again.

Yelp
We had a great experience here, especially with their gluten-free options--they were genuinely impressive. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us, which made the visit even better. There's both indoor and outdoor seating available, but unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy the outdoor area because it was wet that day. The host and our waitress were both incredibly personable, which added to the overall welcoming atmosphere. Inside, the ambiance was lovely, complete with a beautiful view of the bridge and a cozy fireplace. I also noticed they have live music on specific days, which sounds like it would be a fun addition. For lunch, we ordered the clam chowder and the pesto chicken salad sandwich. I have to say, the clam chowder was a standout--it came with gluten-free buns that were surprisingly good! Overall, it was a really enjoyable lunch spot.

Yelp
Wish I could give a 0 star review, absolute worse food I've ever had with little to no flavor, when first walking in they had recommended a tavern down the road, then during the dinner from the corner of my eye, multiple staff were giving me and my party a dirty stare like we didn't belong, would not recommended to ANYONE

Bob W.

Yelp
Service was superior. Very nice ambiance. Disappointed they don't offer Manila clams any more, but fish & chips were excellent.

Kristie A.

Yelp
The food was so delicious. The service was excellent. I have no complaints. I ordered the pan fried oysters and I and highly recommend. I also ordered the King Salmon for my entree and it was so good I ate the skin.

Yelp
Came back here for my birthday yesterday - we had called in a reservation, but on an off season Wednesday night, didnt need it. Quickly seated next to the window, we thought about doing the prix fixe (a 5 course meal featuring short ribs, $50), instead opting to go a la carte. We sampled the fried willapa oysters (perfectly cooked and seasonted) and the calamari (yummy, not overcooked, and included same tasty tentacles) My wifes short ribs with goat cheese polenta was bomb. Pretty hefty serving too ($38). My albacore tuna, seared rare, was seasoned nicely, but the smoked porcini risotto stole the show, and I inhaled the goat cheese/pine nut kale that it came with. Service was fantastic. The views, lovely. Prices in line with the high quality food. I LOVED that the meal was earth friendly, no plastic was expended, even with our take-away box. The chefs really knocked it out of the park tonight! We were too full to sample the fantastic looking desserts. We'll be back, keep up the great work Bridgewater.

Yelp
Nice, clean place with a view. Live guitarist was a nice touch. I had the fetuccini Alfredo and it hit the spot on a cold, windy, rainy day. We also had the Cesear salad and I believe they make the dressing in house because it wasn't good and was an unusual take on Cesar dressing. It's a nicer place, so free appetizer bread didn't come with the meal, but should have. I would come again but wouldn't order the ceasar salad a second time.

Yelp
We loved our dinner here. Salads were divine along with our entrees. The ambiance is wonderful with beautiful views. Impeccable service in a class establishment.

Yelp
Excellent food but very slow service, even on a slow Monday evening. We had the bread basket, crab cheesecake, & prawn salad. All the food was fantastic but our server did not check in with us. We had to ask for our check. We were not offered a drink refill. We were hoping to spend the evening there but left fairly quickly because of the service.

Yelp
Came with the family and they had something for everyone. Was a little disappointed with how small my King salmon serving was and that it came with only a smear of butternut squash. Everything was delicious. Beautifully kept.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant and very good service. Amazing views. Brussel sprouts and daily soup were very good. The halibut and salmon entrees were good but oversalted and the fish seemed a bit over cooked (dry). Overall a good experience though I think I'd try elsewhere next time we're here.

Yelp
Although the service and drinks were good, the food was not. The $48.00 special - pesto pasta with scallops and shrimp - was absolutely lackluster. The scallops and prawns were cooked well, they had absolutely no seasoning and were haphazardly thrown in the pasta. Not only was the entire dish horribly presented, especially at the price point, the pasta / pesto was inedible. I took about 3 bites and couldn't eat anymore. The pasta was gummy, the pesto didn't have any flavour, it was dry and the small amount of cheese was not Parmesan and it wasn't even melted, the pasta was luke warm. My daughter ordered the $22.00 creamy Alfredo pasta - she had 1 bite and wouldn't eat anymore. Again, gummy pasta, no creaminess, no presentation and absolutely no flavour - it tasted like chalky, gummy, cheap cheese lemon pasta. I'm not sure if this is normal for the restaurant but both of our pasta component of the dishes were not edible.

Yelp
Not one to write reviews but was immediately off-put upon arrival when the host was what seemed to be annoyed that our group of seven showed up without a reservation. We made the plan to go to this place five minutes before arriving and it was 2pm and not busy at all so we thought it wouldn't be a problem walking in? But no, he made us feel like it was one and that it was the biggest inconvenience to seat a group of 7. Working in a restaurant I would never behave this way getting a nice group of hungry people ready to spend money ESPECIALLY when the restaurant is "dead". Food was mediocre and probably would've tasted better had we not had a bad taste in our mouth after that weird ass interaction. Everything was overpriced. Basically, you pay for the view, some sub par seafood, and a shitty attitude at the door. Would never be back even if I lived here. Wannabe fancy seafood place. Should've went to KFC up the street.

Yelp
The ambiance is spectacular. Food stellar. Service terrible. I expect more enthusiast service from a restaurant with this price point. We were willing to spend much more. We had to get our own drinks from the bar while we waited for our table. Once we were at our table we had to ask twice for another drink. We are not lushes. We just wanted to have a nice dining experience. They could have upsold us. Didn't even try. Sorry we did not leave a tip. We have never done that.

Yelp
Finding the Bridgewater Bistro was an accident and a wonderful find. Great atmosphere looking over at the Astoria Bridge. Directly in front from our view is an old cannery that has been converted to a hotel. We enjoyed our experience so much we are going back again in the spring to the hotel and restaurant. Service was amazing.
