Yelp
I give, overall, a 4.5 star review:
Due to recent weather in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, our flight into Miami was canceled and we had to fly into Orlando. Our travel agent booked us Brightline tickets from the Orlando Airport station to Ft. Lauderdale, where we originally needed to be. First, the train station in Orlando is phenomenal. It's very clean and spacious, with a nice waiting area and light food/beverage options. Security was a breeze. The train itself is very clean and seats (we were in coach) very comfortable. The staff was very communicative, letting us know every step of the way why we had to slow or stop, and got us from Orlando to Ft. Lauderdale in less than 2.5 hours.
The only reason I deducted .5 of a star is for both internet and food.
While you do get wifi service, it is spotty. Don't count on it to get that major project done for work!
As far as the food goes: they do have a fair menu selection: sandwiches, salads, snacks and beverages, but the prices are pretty high and they tend to run low. We paid 14.00 for a pre-made, partially soggy 5 inch turkey sandwich. We were grateful for it because we were hungry, but suggest you pack a picnic lunch () of a Jersey Mike's or similar sandwich and stock up on Dollar Tree snacky stuff! Also, our seat-mates (we had a table for 4 in coach) tried ordering one of their salad offerings, but they had run out of most of those .
All in all, despite these minor issues, this was a great experience. We were running on empty sleep-wise, so we were grateful for the smooth, comfortable ride.
