Fantastic location at the top of Positano. Yes you have to walk up a lot of stairs but the view is worth it! The superior room had a private balcony and nice bathroom attached which was practical with two toilets and two sinks separate from the shower cubicle. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very expensive (but tasty!) so make sure to book through the website to make use of their offers. Main complaints would be the older style bunk beds with no privacy curtains. There were also no shelves, individual reading lights or usb/plugs which are all found in most other hostels. Overall would recommend and they make the Amalfi Coast accessible to travellers on a budget!

Such a beautiful Hostel! Love the outdoor area & views! It is a hike to the top but that’s just everywhere in Positano, views make it worth it & the walks not too bad because the streets are gorgeous! There is a bus stop super close to get down & along the coast. Book directly with the hostel to receive some good benefits! The staff are lovely & super helpful. Very social vibes - everyone was lovely & friendly!

I liked this hostel okay. It has great views and a nice common area, but the rooms are a bit rundown and stinky due to poor air conditioning systems. Also the bedding felt a bit grungy. One girl in our room was shocked when she walked in because it looks a lot nicer in the photos. I was in an eight bed, all female room. ||It was pretty clean and the showers were nice, but I kind of felt like I was in a hostel in South America/Asia versus one in Positano, If you know what I mean. The price just does not match the quality, and I would recommend spending a little extra to stay in your own place. However, if you really don’t mind a rough-around-the-edges hostel experience, I’m sure you’ll enjoy this just fine.

This review is overdue, but I want to leave an amazing review for the owners of this hostel. I stayed here for about 6 days and I can tell you that the owners went above and beyond for their guests, including me. There was a very difficult family situation that came up while I was there, and I saw firsthand the lengths they went to help in that situation. I won't give details for privacy reasons, but suffice it to say that they did everything they could to help in a difficult situation and were very concerned for their guests' health and wellbeing. I'm a Christian and I believe with all my heart that they have God's smile on them for how they served their guests.

I’ve stayed in many hostels throughout Europe and this is hands down my favorite. This hostel is so charming, the view is incredible, the staff is so kind. I tend not to have high expectations of hostels but this blew me away. I could have stayed here to just soak in all the small details. Do prepare yourself for the hike up the stairs if you choose to go down to the beach (but that’s part of the experience) but worth it to stay at this lovely hostel.

I have stayed here with a friend in March and it was so delightful. The staff was super nice and 5 stars go out to the owner Peter. He speaks PERFECT English (cause he’s a Brite) and we felt very well taken care of. When our ferry was cancelled he told us where to go to catch the bus to Salerno and he was in general super helpful. Our rooms were so clean and well and the view from the balcony (yes you heard right out hostel had a balcony) was absolutely stunning. I’d definitely recommend staying here again!

Third stay in a year :) Great place and owners and staff very helpful and accessible. The place is so clean, that I walked into the spotless french door in the dorm! Views amazing .. 3 mins to main bus stop and Bar Internazionale. Attracts lovely solo travellers from around the world. Advise to book directly with Hostel Brikette ....their price includes breakfast and complimentary drink. Definitely returning!!

We stayed two nights and the experience was amazing. The owner, the staff and the room are super good. We booked the single room with Very nice view directly to the sea side. The owner is very warm hearted and gave us a lot of tips. The staff at the bar is very nice and made really good cocktails. Overall we would highly recommend this place and would definitely come back when we are in Postiano!

Yelp
MANAGER VALUES MORE MONEY THAN THE CUSTOMER !!! I had to pay twice for one night because of a failure in their booking system. When I arrived, the receptionnist told me they had 2 bookings with my name and that I would be refunded for 1 of them, which would be totally fair. Then 2 hours later Peter the manager arrived, refused to refund me and even asked me to APOLOGIZE for wanting my money back. I finally had to pay 140 euros for one night. I found out that it was not the first time the manager made someone pay twice the price. Extremely disappointed about the bad service and customer orientation.

Yelp
This is by far one of the better hostels I've stayed in. Peter, the manager, was so helpful in providing information and advice for a good time in Positano. I had a tour service cancel on me, and he was there in the early morning to help craft alternative plans. Staff even gave whatsapp information for immediate contact, provided free breakfast if you booked directly on their site, and gave out free pastry one morning. If what sets a hostel apart from an airbnb is the extra resources and hospitality for enjoying your stay at a reasonable price, this hostel went above and beyond.

Yelp
Dont be fooled by what you read else where. This place is a hostel, a backpackersso if you are a family, dont be surprized if you dont like it. Yes there maybe some cleanliness issues, but no more than any motel ive stayed in, and if the owner didnt like you, its probably cus you are an idiot. This is one of the best hostels i have ever stayed in my life. Hands down the best view ever. set on the slopes of the almalfi coast and with 3 levels of veranda's the brikettte is on the more local side of the area, surronded by great little cafes. I stayed in a private with my girl friend, which was very nice and quiet, with the top massive balcony..it was alittle more money, but totally worth it

Yelp
So this is by far the best hostel Ive ever stayed in. I travel all over the world from Madagascar to cambodia. I usually stay in 4 to 5 star hotels. Ive also stayed in hostels. I was so pleasantly surprised when I arrived and was greeted by the owners (long time Positano resident) Cristiana and her British Husband Peter. They showed me one of their many gorgeous terraces that looked over the beautiful sea. They showed me the laundry room which has a washer and a dryer - which is amazing for a hostel. They showed me to my private apartment which had my own bathroom and adorable terrace that over looked the sea. The bed has a pillow top mattress so it was very comfortable to sleep in. Cristiana was an amazing host and her breakfasts and dinners are out of this world. She provides a fabulous cooking class. I am so happy I Stayed at this wonderdul place in Positano. I met such nice world travelers from all over the world. Some said it was their second time coming back to the hostel. I can not wait to return myself.

Yelp
Probably the worst hostel I have stayed at so far, which is very unfortunate since this hotel has an amazing view when looking out the balcony. We had a hard time sleeping due to frigid temperature in the bedroom even after asking for the heat to be turned on. I have communicated with the owner via email after we left about our stay and all he did was give me scientific facts about what the ideal temperature should be during certain times of the year. Every person is different and being that my friend and I are iron deficient we get colder faster and our needs were not met. But as I wrote on a different review, the rest of the staff was great, except I will not be coming back or recommending the hostel to anyone. The price was cheap so I guess I got what I paid for. Next time I think I will just pay more and stay in a nicer, more comfortable place in Positano so that I can fully enjoy my stay.

Yelp
I was staying in Brikette couple of times during my visits in Positano. And I just loved it! Was so much fun to stay on the large terrace overlooking the sea, drinking a cocktail (very reasonable prices) and chatting with other hostel guests. Do not miss the breakfast , I think it was the best scrambled eggs and French toast which I ever have eaten! Cristiana, the beautiful young woman who runs the place was always very friendly and kind with me and my girlfriends. She have given to us a lot of useful advices and have booked a transfer for go to the disco. We just loved everything about this place!:)

Yelp
The Hostel Brikette has a great view to the coast. Positano is such a nice place and I loved the beach. But already since my arrival at the hostel I felt so disappointed of this hostel because the reception was so frigid. My bed was not yet prepared and I had to do it by myself. The mattress was wrapped in a plastic film so that every moving during the night made a loud sound. The room wasn't clean and the smell was digustful. The room was clammy and we had ants inside. During my whole stay (5 days) the hostel was dirty in particular the bath room was completely wet - I recommend wearing wellington boots for go to toilet or install a longer shower curtain or a door for the shower. There is no WIFI in the bedrooms - only a small WIFI area around the reception. The staff was consisted only of young English who were there only for 2 months. There was no authentic feeling being in Italy. No possibility speaking Italian at the hostel and seeing the simpatico Italian mentality. I'm not a native English speaker and the staff spoke English so fast that I couldn't understand anything.

Yelp
Well located hostel type place as opposed to hotel. Appeals mainly to the younger less critical crowd! Cheap and cheerful would best describe this place I suspect. However it is in a good location for access to the port and the ferries which ply between the other Amalfi coast ports like,Capri,Amalfi,Ravello,Sorrento. Wherever you stay in Positano you need to be fit,the stone steps are a killer, and everything is uphill. The view of the town from the harbour is something you will never forget though.

Yelp
I recently spent two nights in the only hostel available Positano, Italy (on the Almalfi Coast). It's called BRIKETTE HOSTEL and the two beds I slept in (in the all female 7 bed dorm) was INFESTED with bed bugs. I woke up on my first morning covered in what I believed to be hives because I had such an adverse reaction. As it turns out it was because my body was literally covered in Bed Bugs! I'm currently on three different types of steroid, antibiotic and anti itching creams as well as antihistamines to try and alleviate the discomfort I have been feeling for the past 4 days. I was bitten on both arms (over 40 bites on one arm alone), both legs all across my back and up along my neck and FACE! If I could add a photo of my back I would because I have had multiple people tell me it is the worst they have ever seen. It is incredibly distressing for me. They need to fix this problem as I am aware they had a terrible infestation two years ago and I thought they had gotten rid of the bed bugs but apparently not! It is a really great hostel but it is absolutely disgusting not bad the big bugs were. Before I knew what they looked like I flicked TWO off me and they were huge! If I had known what I was looking at earlier I would have gotten out as soon as I realised but I didn't know. Please take care when considering this hostel.
