I really wanted to enjoy this Dominican restaurant, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The food might have been decent (I didn't even get to try it), but the service ruined the entire visit. The woman at the counter/server was incredibly rude—no greeting, no patience, and made me feel like I was bothering her just by being there. Also, she didn’t want to serve my food how asked her. I understand places can get busy, but basic courtesy goes a long way. Sadly, I won’t be coming back.

Really disappointed with my visit. I was excited to try this place, but the woman working there had a rude and unwelcoming attitude from the moment I walked in. It completely ruined the experience before I even had a chance to enjoy the food. Customer service matters, and unfortunately, this place didn’t deliver.

Placed a pickup order, when I got there it wasn’t ready while placing my order I let the person know that I was in a hurry, I came over 20 minutes later and it wasn’t ready, the lady at the counter was being very dismissive and didn’t even acknowledge that I was in front of her, when she finally did she had a attitude. Sorry if my review is confusing I’m extremely upset writing this

I ordered pernil with rice and beans in person, but they still managed to forget the beans. The rice is okay, but the pernil is terrible. It's so dry and inedible. The pernil looks like it's leftovers. I got a feeling the server purposely grabbed leftover dry bits because the pernil was so shredded up and dry rather than large juicy chunks. The server is also quite rude, like they don't want to be there.

I was staying in Hamilton Heights for a month while working a contract gig. I had just come back from being in the DR for two weeks prior to that and was craving some Dominican food when I found this place. I ate here 4-5 times in the month I stayed and always left full and with a warm feeling. The food is delicious and you can tell someone’s Mom and Pop are back there putting love into the food. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the daily specials and bebidas. Come alittle later in the evening when the place is alive with people from the community enjoying a meal to really get that island vibe. The food here is home style even if your home is nowhere near that beautiful island. Beef stew translates well to all cultures. This place is like if you had a Dominican friend invite you over for a home cooked meal at their house. I will be back when I’m in town again. Another review said you won’t get treated well if you don’t speak Spanish here and I have to disagree. I have very little Spanish in my vocabulary and was treated very well, sure I was pretty much the only white dude in there when I ate but that’s how this neighborhood is. If you treat the staff well and are patient with them they will do the same for you.

Dissappointed. I ordered tres golpes (Dominican breakfast) the mangu was stiff & extremely bland with a hint of a weird taste. Asked for the eggs to be cooked over medium, received over cooked eggs instead.
