This is a really nice, cute little restaurant, 60m off the main drag, but completely worth seeking out. We havered a bit before going in, wondering whether it would be any good, and would have much atmosphere (it wasn’t full) but were so glad we finally took the plunge.
Sarah, the owner, was lovely and answered all my stupid questions with a smile, and actually the decor is great - kind of quirky and a tiny bit kitsch, but in a really good way.
We had all five starters on offer, between three of us, as our meal, and each one was delicious. We all had different favourites, but I think the asparagus with poached egg and Parmesan custard might just have come out on top. But really, they were all great.
After that, we shared the poached pear, sorbet and kind of caramelised shortbread for pudding and that was delicious too.
Really, I can’t praise the place highly enough. If you like tasty and very slightly quirky food in a french-ish style, then give it a go. It was pretty darned reasonable price-wise too, given the quality of the food. Go, enjoy. You won’t regret it.
