Super cute place and great food! I would recommend reserving in advance especially for Friday & weekend nights. We were lucky to find a table. The food was fresh and yummy. The quality of food was worth the prices. There is also free parking right in front so no need to think about that part

I had the seafood linguini and it was average. Not bad exactly, just not worth $34 plus tax. My friends had the poutine, the chicken wings and the fries. The chicken wings and fries were good, and the poutine was average. The place had a nice calm vibe, and the waiters were nice and helpful, especially with my friend with gluten intolerance.

Tasty restaurant! The staff was very kind and the food was good. Being one of the only restaurants open on Monday it was busy but they have a good variety of food on their menu so everyone can find something. The caesar salad was delicious!

Location & parking: easy to find and plenty of street parking. Service: the staff are wonderful and very helpful. They are also very attentive. Food: the menu has a wide variety of options and the local seafood was absolutely delicious. Price: it’s high quality, but it’s also a bit expensive. Don’t expect to pay less than $30 per person. Atmosphere: this restaurant seems to attract a lot of local low class people that are very loud, rude, and enjoy cruising their cars by the restaurant and revving their engines. It’s unfortunate because the restaurant itself is quite classy, even if people from Gaspé are not.

Food, service and atmosphere were all solid. The restaurant overlooks the water so recommend getting a window or outdoor table weather permitting. We had the shrimp poutine to start and it lived up to the positive reviews with its creamy sauce not being overpowering or too mild. It went perfectly with the shrimps, black peppers and fries. We had the smoked salmon and shrimp sandwich and fish (cod) and chips as the mains and both were great with good serving sizes. Our waiter was very friendly and made sure we didn't want for anything. They have a fair bit of seating including on the patios outside but can see how it'd probably fill up fast in the busy season. They don't do reservations so factor that in when planning to eat here.

Overall everything was good. We had the burger, coquille Saint-Jacques, shrimp poutine and the smoked meat sandwich. The food was tasty and the service was very good. The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars is that we found it slightly pricey for the type of food along with the portion size. Expect to pay $40-50 per person with taxes and no alcoholic beverages.

The food, surroundings and decor are so colourful and fresh, it's hard not to enjoy both. My wife and I as well as two others had a great lunch here. The service was friendly and the food delicious. I ended up having the trout as that was the catch of the day and it didn't disappoint. Delicious food and a great location.

The food was great, and I absolutely loved the shrimp poutine, seafood club sandwich, and nachos. The terrace offers a beautiful view of the water, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a meal. Highly recommended for seafood lovers!

Yelp
We've been hearing about poutine. While being in Gaspe, we figured it was perfect timing. We sat outside with a lovely view. The service was great and we were served pretty quickly. Our dish was amazing. It was so good. You're missing out if you don't try the poutine here.

Yelp
Not sure why this place has a low Yelp rating. Stopped here for lunch, and my wife declared her lobster club sandwich one of the best meals on our trip. I had the fish and chips, also very good. Fish seemed very fresh. Both served with small salad and fries. She had a Quebec white wine, also declared a winner. Friendly service. Ate outside on lovely.

Yelp
This place gets 3.5 stars. Cod Cakes Gaspasie style were basically bacalao croquettes. They were great & came with a yummy courgette relish. They were denser than Spanish croquettes (which have a bechamel filling). Club sandwich with lobster was good. There was quite a lot of lobster & it was fresh. The fries were decent: a touch undersalted but there was salt at the table (not all restaurants with undersalted fries have that). Bouillabaisse was stronger than the French version. It came with cheese, spicy mayo & buttered toast. The toast was a bit old but otherwise everything was good. The scallops were huge & there was tons of shrimp. Maple syrup tart was a tart with maple syrup on top. It was microwaved so it was too hot. That said, it tasted good. The crumb good - short - on the edges but the centre was a bit soft.

Yelp
We sat in the back -- outside where we were attended by a bilingual waitress with a good sense of humor. She helped me find gluten free options and suggested options our family enjoyed. The nachos were covered with shrimp, cheese, and lobster! My turbo fish was tasty, the poke bowl was good, and the salmon In the pasta yummy -- though the lime tarte was thoroughly licked clean! We didn't feel rushed though there was a line when we left!

Yelp
Been on a road trip in the Gaspe region and this was a welcome stop. Arrived at 5:30pm for an early dinner and was quickly seated. Service was friendly and efficient, even if we can't speak French. Looked at the menu and were happy to see non-fried dishes. Hooray! We got: - Bouillabaisse Gaspesienne: Gaspe historically is know for its cod, so was happy to have a lot of huge chunks of it (along with lots of shrimp and salmon) in the stew. There was so much seafood in the stew that it was almost worth the steep $40 price tag. Almost. Guess that's the privilege of being one of the few restaurants in the area. Oof. - Coquille Aux Fruits De Mer: Yep, these Quebecois know how to use cheese in their dishes. The scalloped potatoes were firm yet tender, the shrimps were well cooked though would have wanted a bit more. But the cheese was the easy standout - creamy, melted-stringy, tasty. Oh, and the side salad was good too, with the tomatoes being fresh and plump. Not that there's a lot of competition, but even if there were, I really enjoyed Brise-Bise and would recommend it if you were in the area.

Yelp
I was told this was the best restaurant in gaspe. The line to get in reflects this. Expect a wait in every aspect of your visit. The place has nice loud ambience. A window seat gives you great river views. The food is decent. I had the table du hote menu which was a set 3 course meal. My deer tartare was fabulous. Generous portion and fresh. It could of used 1 more peice of bread so I didnt have to slather so much on 1 peice. The shrimp poutine is famous here. But I ended up getting the lobster sandwich instead. The lobster was fresh and generous but the mediocre plain bread ruined the sandwich for me. The key lime pie was great and was so refreshing! It is an experience that I'm pretty sure every tourist does in the gaspe. Expect to be with all the tourists in town and not many locals if that's you're vibe. The food was decent but hardly memorable. The bar staff was great, friendly and totally fun!

Yelp
Before our trip to Gaspe, w my husband and I had heard great things about this restaurant. Wrong! We were seated upon arrival at 5:30. We received our wine at 6:20. Our plates arrived at 7:00. The server was inefficient and overworked leaving us to watch diners who arrived after us yet received their food. Starters included cod cakes (with duck sauce-not appropriate), shrimp rolls (better with duck sauce) , and calamari (excellent with aioli). Next, salmon as fish of the day which is rather sad considering it is ubiquitous. Husband had coquilles st Jacques which was delicious. Desserts were key lime custard on a cookie and chocolate pear tart. Both were average. This restaurant needs to get its act together.

Yelp
There's not really too much to say about this place. It was pretty cute and it looked huge but for some reason the seating was excessively crammed tight. They had plastic screens between tables but they were so cramped that the back of your chair was stuck to the person at the next table. If you wanted to get up, the person/people with you had to get up and you had to push the table away from you and still ask the person behind you if they could move. Four seats to a tiny table was way too uncomfortable considering the two of us could barely fit our meals and drinks on the table. We got fish and chips and while it was ok, tasted buttery, we found the pieces to be quite tiny and crusty. You get fries and a salad with it (which we found odd), so it's not the worst price, but if you're looking forward to fish, you'll be pretty disappointed like us. The washroom is ridiculously tiny and there seemed to only be two individual ones but not gender neutral. Despite our review and rating, staff is very friendly, does speak English if you need and were cleaning very thoroughly between guests and had management double checking to make sure it was adequate.

Yelp
Brise-Bise has an excellent location and view inside. I was just glad that it is still opened during COVID-19, and they do a great job on protection! Plus I was really amazed by the club sandwich, I would absolutely go again for it.

Yelp
Given that this is one of the few restaurants in Gaspé, we ended up here on both nights of our stay. Because of COVID (and the fact that it was packed to the brim indoors), we ate on their terrace both times. We tried many of their dishes (nachos, chicken wings, calamari, poutine, ribs, burgers) and everything was delish (although I wouldn't suggest the wings - they were nothing special). Delicious bar food that doesn't make you feel gross after, decent prices and fantastic staff! Would go back if ever in the area!

Yelp
I had high expectations going into Brise-Bise. Unfortunately, Brise-Bise only managed to Brise my expectations of Gaspé's food scene. I ordered the poutine with shrimp, as recommeded by other Yelpers. The shrimp was cold, and at first I thought this was a mistake, but no... server informed me that this was deliberate, and a neighbourghing table received the same too. Server offered to heat up my food for me, and I did. I don't understand why the shrimp was served cold on a hot poutine. It was just weird. The shrimp was also of subpar quality compared to the incredible shrimp accessible in markets nearby. I don't understand why my shrimp was flavourless. Makes me think it was bought frozen from a large distributor. Fries were also not made in house. While this is a decision many restaurants make, it's not one I understand when homemade fries are 1000x better than frozen fries. Wash, cut, fry, season. For a $20 poutine, I think I deserve at least that. Can you tell I'm pissed?

Yelp
We ended up going to Brise Bise twice during our three days in Gaspe. The first was just for a coffee and dessert and the second time was for dinner. FOOD I have to say I enjoyed the food I tried. For dinner, we split the 'shrimp' poutine as an appetizer though I can't remember the main dish I ordered. I do remember portions being small for the price. The beer was also pretty good. SERVICE The service during both our visits was slow but comparable to service elsewhere is Gaspesie. VALUE Due to the portion sizes, I have to say Brise Bise is pretty pricey. A split appetizer, two main dishes and two beers was over $80 with tip. For 'pub' food, that's a little much. OTHER - RESERVATIONS? During summer, this seems to be quite the popular spot as both nights we were there the place was pretty packed. Even arriving early for dinner, we couldn't get a seat in the restaurant and had to go to the lower level patio to grab a spot. As such, be prepared to eat early or late if you want to try it out. --- All in all, I would go back if I were in town but just be prepared for a wait and to spend a bit more money than you might think.

Yelp
After 9 hours drive from Quebec City, we finally arrived in Gaspe, and this was the first restaurant we visited. The waiting line was long (around 30 mins), but the mussels were fantastic! I recommend this place to all the seafood lovers

Yelp
This was one of the best restaurants I've ever been to in Gaspe! The burger was to die for, all of the food was delicious and the service was great. I appreciated the friendliness of the staff and overall had an awesome experience!!

Yelp
Unfortunately, Brise is almost the only restaurant in downtown Gaspe that serves half decent food. So they can charge a premium price and provide less than adequate service and they do so, when it is crowded. I suspect when is not the height of the tourist season this would be much better. The food when it did come was wholesome and good. We had the lobster club and the Bouillabaisse, the latter was stuffed with good pieces of fish. Total cost with a couple of beers $75. They appear not take reservations, so do not go at peak times otherwise you will have to wait in line.

Yelp
Everything our group ate was delicious. Not many restaurant options in the area but highly recommend this place

Jessica Y.

Yelp
The wait, just to be seated was painfully long. Waiting for our dishes was even longer. The only thing we didn't have to wait for was the bill, they gave us the bill before we even finished ou meal. And what a bill! For the quality of the service and portion sizes, the cost is blatantly extortion! The food was tasty but not close to being worth what was paid for them.

Cyprien P.

Yelp
Very good place to rest and feed. The atmosphere is pleasant, the food is good and the service is perfect. Nothing else to say.

Jolene G.

Yelp
Very good service. Waited at bar as 5 groups waiting on top and only 1 ahead of us at bar below. Food was excellent. Cod was pan fried and some of best outside of Newfoundland. Chicken ceased was excellent also. Good beer selection and adequate wine with decent prices. Very popular place.

Yelp
Really bad experience/service here! Waited over an hour and half for our food. Beware of blonde waitress with curly hair. The food was good, but over priced for a snack bar. We were charged for 2 table d'hote, asked to pay our bills and never recieved dessert.

Yelp
We were in Gaspe for 1 night and looking for a good place to eat. Brise was recommended by the receptionist of the hotel we were staying at (strangely even though there were reviews this restaurant didn't show up on the Yelp search). The atmosphere was cosy and bistro-ish so it seemed like the best option around (options in Gaspe are limited). I was surprised that the menu didn't feature more by way of fresh seafood given that Gaspe is on the gulf but it gave an ok selection. The starters were nothing special - the home made shrimp rolls were pretty tasteless and the seafood salad was too much of blend to be particularly tasty. However, the bouillabaisse was excellent with a very good mix of halibut, salmon, shrimps and scallops. The smoked salmon salad was equally tasty with a strong smoky overtone that you don't normally find. The only problem was the service was slow. Long gap between ordering and getting the starters, longer gap before the main course arrived. We had killed a full bottle of Chablis before the main course got there. If they are going to make you wait that long, at least give you a bread basket.
