Bristol Hotel

Older hotel just off Main Street and it has a quirky charm.|Fairly basic but spacious for the area. Good size room furnished in a basic fashion that came with a bath/shower/fridge/heater that did not work for us, but no drink making facilities.|We were top floor and each floor is on two levels meaning you need to traverse stairs even on the same floor, not fun with suitcases,|The hotel crosses over a road via a covered walkway and certain facilities are over there like breakfast room and swimming pool et al.|I often stay here for it's character which more modern hotels do not have in Gibraltar.

We stayed at this hotel for New Year’s Eve & new year with friends family. The location is just behind the old town center quiet area. Hotel is classic historical European interiors which we found beautiful… Family rooms were big enough for 2 adults & 2 kids . There’s beautiful church around the corner we also visited . We will come back for another holiday to use swimming pool and bar🥰 thank you for friendly staff .

Room very spacious, clean, comfortable, yes a little dated but overall the staff and cleanliness overrides the dated decor, location is just perfect, swimming area, bar and breakfast area is lovely. I would always opt for this hotel for location and staff friendliness. I really enjoy my stay here.

The Bristol has an excellent central location in the middle of the old city. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and will let you leave your luggage before check-in and after checkout. The rooms are quite dated, it has to be said - but everything was clean, and there is a mini fridge and aircon unit in every room. I didn't visit the pool or have breakfast (which seemed good value at £8). The price seemed a little high at £88 single occupancy, but all accommodation inside the old city is quite expensive due to limited supply, so it was good value comparatively. Overall I'd give it 4.5 stars but I decided to be generous...

Great location just off main street. The rooms were so old fashioned I thought we were at Fawlty Towers. The lighting was so dim and the signage was terrible up and down the floors. We had friends staying with us,at the hotel for their wedding and we all kept getting lost between rooms. Apart from the Bar not being open on the evening of our friends wedding (after we had been out all day and wanted a relaxing drink) it was OK. Not good though and felt sorry for the night man on reception as we were not happy Breakfast was OK but the two waiting ladies kept looking at us as if we were going to run off. Was funny but it was the morning after the wedding so they could have been nicer. Anyhow. Good location but needs an upgrade

We are staying in the Bristol hotel, Gibraltar for 3 nights before travelling on into mainland Spain. The flight is easy from Bristol UK 3:30hrs and we thought it fun to spend a couple of days in the rock and stay in the hotel that is our namesake of where we are from I'm the UK, big mistake! The hotel is from the colonial days and had revived much attention since then. It feels like a hotel out of the 80's. The A/C is a floor unit added into the room that blows coldish air line a fan but doesn't cool the room down. The bathroom is super hot and the shower a drizzle. There's a TV but don't expect to find any channels on it and you can't get Netflix. The fridge is just another cupboard as it cools nothing. The worst of all is the continental breakfast. There's no fruit, the yogurt pots taste like dry powder splashed with a little water and the coffee tastes like it's made from instant. For the price is a standard 3 star hotel, this feels like it just makes 1 star and tastes being generous!

I picked the hotel because of it's location & the fact it had a pool. From the outside it looks modern, inside however it's stuck in the 1930's. Maybe that has a certain charm for some, for me not so much. My room No. 203 stank like it was also stuck in the 1930's, this was what i used most of my deodorant on...however despite leaving the windows open all day the smell remained...||Great that I had a small fridge & a makeshift air con unit but I could not reduce the fan noise on the unit meaning I wasn't able to leave it on during the hot sticky night. The bathroom was just as dated & the sink taps strangely placed so that it was difficult to open the cold tap...|The breakfast was average as no fruit or hot food was included - so it should state that - because a hot breakfast is standard in UK hotels. The croissants were also not fresh & just packaged ones from the shop.|Some staff were lovely others felt a little rude at times.||The pool area, bar & breakfast area is actually outside the hotel & across the road - definitely something i've never encountered before. However these areas were nice. The pool area especially so - kept to a nice standard, the pool was cleaned daily & it got the sun all day too. There were shady areas if people needed too. |The pool bar was disappointing in that they didnt have a card machine - it's 2025!! Forcing you to pay by cash when you only get back Gibraltar pounds which you cannot use in London is not ideal. So I just went to the local shop instead. |The airport bus drops you a short walk away & everything is within walking distance, including the rock cable car.||I was able to check in extremely early which was a massive plus for me & they do have a luggage room for storage. They dont however have a shower room which is strange considering the size of the hotel. Paying for a late check out was also very expensive at over half the cost of my actual room price. |Overall if I found a cheap enough deal & I got a room that didn't smell i probably would return - just for pool & the location but otherwise look elsewhere.

Loverly old style hotel but comfortable and clean the staff were very friendly and helpful. Just a few steps from the main street and only a bit furthet to the lovely square where you will find some lovely gift shops,coffee shops and some great resturants.
