If you want a modern hotel with a cooked breakfast, don't book the Bristol. If you want a reasonably priced, comfortable hotel in a brilliant location, with friendly staff, this is the place to go. We stayed for three nights, the room was dated, but spacious and clean with comfortable beds. The bathroom was huge and looked like it had had a revamp recently. There was an air conditioning unit which was a bit noisy, we found if we ran it until we were ready to sleep, the room temperature remained cool enough during the night without it on. Other than that, we didn't hear any noise from outside or other guests. The breakfast is basic but OK, with croissants, toast, cereal, cooked meats, cheese and yoghurt. The pool area is gorgeous and was never busy when we went down there.

Disappointing. When we walked into our room we thought it was lovely. Large & comfortable room. However, it was a hot summer day and it only had a really mini (&I mean really mini) cooler. So, we were moved to a smaller but terrible room. The toilet and shower were separate. The flush just about worked with a handle just about hanging in place. Were we offered any compensation or even an apology? Nope, not even a cup of tea. We will be visiting Gibraltar again but never the Bristol

definitely the location is great. The staff is very kind and helpful, the services provided with the overnight stay are essential. The big problem of this hotel are the rooms, they are very old, above the accessories such as mattresses and blankets, the toilets are done but because of the old furniture the rooms do not give a sense of cleanliness. I recommend it only for business trips, not for families or couples.

This historic hotel seems somewhat "quirky" but it is also very pleasant, and even has a (small) outdoor swimming pool, and it is right in the centre of Gibraltar's old town, with most of the major sights (other than Europa Point, but including the bottom station of the cable car to the top of the Rock) nearby. ||The communal areas of the hotel have a mixture of neoclassical/ baroque and art deco decorations and fittings, and my room was pleasant and comfortable, with it's own bathroom and TV with both English and Spanish channels (including BBC News).||The staff were friendly and (not surprisingly) fluent in both English and Spanish.||The breakfast was perhaps a little disappointing. There was cereal (with milk), bread (and a toaster) and pastries, with jam and marmalade available, plus boiled eggs and cheese, but limited fruit options and no scrambled or fried eggs or omelettes.||Otherwise, though, a pleasant place to stay, and handy for pretty much all the major sights.

I stayed in The Bristol Hotel whilst enroute to Seville for two nights mid July 25. The hotel has a fantastic location in the old town with restaurants, shops and bars at it's door step. It's also only a 10 minute walk to the cable car to take you up "The Rock" to visit the monkeys and other attractions. I required parking and the hotel has a small limited number of spaces reserved on the street at the front ot the building. I would say around 10 spaces. There's also a motorcycle park across the street which i believe is free. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is in great need of restoration. My room was cleanish , however, very fusty which created a smell. The beds were very old and squeaky. My room had a mobile air conditioning unit which was seriously loud. Other room facilities were fridge and TV. The bathroom had shower over bath with little pressure. A hairdryer is also supplied. As a seasoned traveller i found this hotel expensive £274 for two nights. If you require breakfast that's an additional £7 which is continental. I really don't mind the cost however this would be for me a 2 star hotel with regards to the standard of facilities. I can most definitely recommend the location but not the hotel at this time as it simply is in need of alot of TLC. The building is quirky and attractive and could have so much more to offer.

The building and decoration are a little dated in design, although superbly well kept. A quieter hotel with predominantly older or business guests, you won't find screaming children here. The foyer is grand and bright, but the hallways and staircase are dark and narrow. Likewise, there is an unusual route involving another narrow staircase to the pool and dining area. Staff are excellent, whether it be at reception or cleaning. The location is superb, right in the heart of Main Street shopping, bars, and restaurants. If you are accustomed to mainstream chain hotels, the Bristol will feel like an episode of Terry and June. It's decisively 1970's.

Really mixed feelings about this hotel!||I’ll start with the positives! ||Staff very friendly and helpful, the enclosed pool area was lovely and we appreciated how private it was.||Now for the negatives:||It’s old and very tired and I seriously mean old and tired, we stayed here in 2017 and it hasn’t been updated at all! ||The beds are like bricks, it was so hard i literally have bruises from laying on it! |The hairdryer worked (just) which I am grateful for but they looked like they were out of the 60s! ||Our toilet wobbled as you sat on it which was rather concerning! ||Sadly we will not be returning to this hotel, it just isn’t worth the cost.

We enjoyed our stay in this conveniently central hotel. Room was comfortable and very quiet at night for sleeping. ||Attractive furnishings have a slightly traditional look and feel that actually enhances the residence. Staff were great and helpful with some queries.
