The building and decoration are a little dated in design, although superbly well kept. A quieter hotel with predominantly older or business guests, you won't find screaming children here. The foyer is grand and bright, but the hallways and staircase are dark and narrow. Likewise, there is an unusual route involving another narrow staircase to the pool and dining area. Staff are excellent, whether it be at reception or cleaning. The location is superb, right in the heart of Main Street shopping, bars, and restaurants. If you are accustomed to mainstream chain hotels, the Bristol will feel like an episode of Terry and June. It's decisively 1970's.

Great location right in the centre of Gibraltar. Hotel could do with a bit of refurbishment but the staff was extremely accommodating and everything was clean. We were allowed to check in slightly earlier and on our last day they kindly stored our luggage for us to be able to make the most of our holiday. Room was spacious with a sofa and a fridge which was very helpful and allowed us to have a cold drink in the evening. Bathroom with a bath, nice and clean. It was reasonably quiet. Breakfast was simple consisting of toast, ham, cheese, hard boiled eggs, yoghurt and cereal, tea, coffee and juice. There is a bar and a swimming pool, however these are not located inside the hotel but in a building opposite, and the breakfast is served there too.

It is a bit of a "trip back in time" in terms of decor and furnishings. Still, a very solid 3 stars. Having said this, the breakfast was disappointing. Nothing was fresh. Everything was prepackaged food chosen for ease of preparation and management. Much better options around the corner in local pubs and restaurants. If you want to save money, a good option is to take a hotel on the Spanish side of the Line and walk back and forth through passport control daily.

Alright it’s dated but it’s all part of the charm, like going back in time. The location of the hotel is really great with the shops bars and restaurants nearby. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The swimming pool and bar are good with bar prices cheaper than other hotels in the area ( that’s why there were residents of the nearby Elliott hotel drinking at the Bristol). The rooms although dated are clean and we slept well in the beds. All in all a great stay for National Day and will be returning.

I've known this hotel for years. It has loads of colonial character. I have to say some things are a little tired but that's actually part of the charm. The rooms are good and the swimming pool-bar are just what the doctor ordered in mid August. The Hotel is incredibly well situated in the heart of Main Street and it also has 7 parking slots right outside the door. . The crowning glory are the brilliant staff. They are full of local knowledge and nothing is too much trouble. Thankyou for a wonderful stay!!!!

I rather liked this hotel. It's tired and a bit 1970s - but I slept well the room was clean and a comfortable bed. Staff were friendly. Oh and it was at least half the cost of alternative hotels. Breakfast was a bit plain - should be more options

Breakfast at Bristol hotel on Cathedral square good Spanish (or maybe British, but not French) hotel breakfast….ham, cheese, tomatoes, toast, cereals…great coffee (with hot milk). ||Our experience here started with the friendly taxi driver dropping us 25 m from the door to save us the expense of driving around a long block to get to the front door. It was appreciated!

Disappointed. At the front desk, an overweight lady with glasses threw the room keys towards me and had the rudest attitude in Gibraltar. Allegedly, when the soldiers of the great siege of Gibraltar in 1779 checked in at this hotel, it was renovated for the last time... And the smell is from that time, too, most likely. Breakfast is just the name. It doesn't look like one to me. On the bright side, there were no bed bugs, and the price was somewhat affordable for its location. Staff was nice, except that one rude lady.
