Our first time in Portugal and we started here. We loved the hotel and the staff. Courteous, friendly and went out of their way to accommodate our early check in. The day front desk staff, especially the young man who helps with bags (Says-you) is such a gentleman! The breakfast is spectacular. The history is well preserved. Great location. Everything is walkable

Hotel Britania was unique with its art deco decor. Its location is excellent as it’s off the main street, so quiet, but easy walking to the main attractions and good restaurants. Our room was large, clean and beautifully furnished. The ensuite was clean and well appointed. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. They looked like they enjoyed working there. Special mention to Victor. The extras of complimentary port and a coffee machine in the lounge/bar area ensured that it was the perfect place to relax. The best accommodation we have had in our 5 week trip. Highly commend.

This is our favorite hotel in all of our travels First, it is a beautiful art deco gem. Staying there is like stepping back into the 1920s. It is decorated to reflect the era but with all the modern conveniences. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. Second, the staff is very professional and knowledgeable, but warm and friendly. They all give you the feeling that they are proud of the hotel. Third, it is centrally located. It is on a quiet street, one block from the main Avenida de Liberdade. I would highly recommend this hotel for couples and small families.

This is a great period hotel in lisbon easy walking distance to the old town. Pleasant staff large comfortable rooms. Breakfast included plus port available in the room. We will definitely book again on our next trip to Lisbon.

Google
What an amazing stay in this hotel. Staff are great, very friendly and always accommodating. The breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day. Fantastic location without being too noisy. Would definitely go back and stay here again.

Google
I googled "quiet Lisbon hotel" and this popped up at the top of the list. I was a little concerned because it said it was a historic property (read: older), but decided to go for it and very glad I did! We stayed there four nights and heard light traffic noise just one of the nights. Nobody walking in the room overhead, nobody taking a shower next door... Just quiet serenity. :-)||But wait, there's more. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Though it was 90% the same items every morning, there was plenty of variety (eggs, meats both hot and cold, veggies, fruit, breads, cereals) -- and the yummy pastries did change slightly each day.||The Metro Blue line is just one minute away, and I loved returning from sightseeing to Jorge, the doorman/porter, always ready with a smile. ||The only thing that took us days to find was the Kleenex (tissue). It was hiding in the same drawer as the hairdryer because it had slipped all the way to the back. That's a strange place to put it.

Google
Very well maintained hotel. Excellent service. Perfectly clean with everything you need in the room. It’s really art deco so you won’t see any modern furniture however cleanliness is the highest level you can find. Little down for variety at the breakfast. Bit disappointing when you look at the local food and the price you pay for the room.

Google
This is a totally gorgeous hotel with impeccable service and a really nice breakfast as well. The historic and art deco details are one of a kind. Now I have my whenever I’m in Lisboa hotel. Five stars all the way around. The location is perfect as well. Excellent.

Yelp
Fantastic service ! Larissa at the front desk was great. I jetlagged overslept (2pm) and missed breakfast. When she saw me and I explained what happened:: never expecting anything: she offered me coffee and to my surprise brought not only coffee but a continental breakfast! Love this place!

Yelp
Lisbon's Hotel Britania, Portuguese for "British Hotel," feels like you've stepped into a 1940s ship complete with portholes, relevant decor, and paintings that are consistent with a seafaring vessel, all making it quite charming. It is conveniently located near upscale shopping on Avenida de Liberdade, several excellent restaurants including Ginos, and the Avenida metro station. It's not a long walk to gorgeous Eduardo VII Park with stellar views of the city. The customer service at the hotel is excellent, the street is very quiet, there is a small market half a block north of the hotel, and the complimentary breakfast is delicious.

Yelp
We arrived today to this boutique hotel. All staff have been amazing. Our room has a European king so nice and comfy! The hotel is in walking distance to many great restaurants and attractions. We feel safe here and are happy with our hotel selection.

Yelp
I found this place on Yelp and boy am I glad I did. It's got large lovely rooms, great toiletries (Molton Brown- I love you), a mini fridge, a tea set up, (and did I mention the large room?)- lots of storage- a big dresser, and large closet, end tables with storage, a book shelf! With books- including a Lisbon Lonely Planet book- and port to drink in our very own decanter. I'm drinking it now. Also, there was a sample of delicious walnuts. Not sure why- but they are really good. The room is quiet even though it is near the center of town and the blackout curtains really DO black out everything. Make sure you set an alarm! The water pressure is great and the bathroom has a handheld shower and a tub- but excellent. The tub is a little high- so if you're disabled, find out if they have a disabled bathroom. The regular one is not disabled friendly at all (also, slippery marble- beautiful slippery marble.) We were given a card with free entrance to Museu National de Arte Antigua (ancient art) and the Museu Nacional de Arte Contemporanea (modern art). Since both these places were on our to do list, it's great to go there free! As to the breakfast- I booked a room which included it- let me just say it was lovely. Pastries, breads, eggs, bacon, grilled veggies, tomatoes, cheese, cold meats, fruit, fruit juice, cereal, and did I mention the pastries? Tea and coffee too!

Yelp
Wonderful hotel in a safe and clean location. The staff here are beyond welcoming and the rooms are spacious and clean. The complimentary breakfast spread is beyond filling and varied and their tea/pastry spread in the afternoon is the perfect pick me up! The only reason I am knocking off a star is because our room was on the first floor and located right above the kitchen, making it difficult to sleep in in the morning. The hotel is located on the rodeo drive of Lisbon, but is a bit of a walk from the Chiado and Alfama neighborhoods. Overall, I would stay again and just request a room on a higher floor.

Yelp
I found this hotel on TripAdvisor and on travel books. I read the reviews and decided this would be the hotel to stay. It is just off the main shopping street, Avenida da Libertad. It is an older hotel. The room we had was roomy, no view, but quiet, nice bathroom. They have pillow menu and can adjust the bed for more firmness. During the early evening they have a variety of pastries and tea. There is also a small bar. The reception person was very helpful in making reservations for a Fado dinner.

Yelp
Glad we stayed here. 10 minute walk to city center. Front desk staff is your concierge. English is spoke well here. They do a great job recommending restaurants and the best way to see the sights of the city. Rooms are spacious/clean/quiet and breakfast is a buffet every morning (Always the same but we did not get sick of it). Afternoon tea and a small bar area at night. The bartender is creative and generous. For the location, service and value, this is a fabulous hotel home base for a great stay in Lisbon.
